Payday: Takers

Prologue

~Rockay City, 9:47 pm~

It was currently night time in the coastal city of Rockay City, South Florida as the full moon illuminated the black night sky over an abandoned tile factory located in the center of the neighborhood of Midtown, where a group of six people, whom were going over the blueprints and surveillance photos of a warehouse resting on the table in front of them while slipping on ballistic vests and going over their gear.

"Okay, does everybody understand the plan?" A man in his earlier 30's, Caucasian with dark brown ruffled hair and grayish blue eyes asked while drawing out a Colt Commander and pulling back the slide.

"Yeah, we sneak into the warehouse, grab what we can, load it into the van and take off before the cops show up." A Hispanic man also in his earlier 30's with light tan skin and black hair in a modern mullet style answered for the rest of the group, stating that they understood the plan perfectly: how they were to sneak inside the warehouse, steal whatever they found inside and get out as fast as they could before the Rockay City Police showed.

"What do we know about this warehouse, anyway?" A Caucasian man in his late 20's, possibly 29 with strawberry blonde hair in an Ivy League style and grayish lime green eyes asked while examining his handgun, an IMI Desert Eagle Mk. 7.

"According to city records, the ware house belongs to Goth Corp, which has numerous contracts with the city, as it supplies strip malls with electronic equipment, jewelry stores with cutting jewelry and pharmacies with over the counter medication." The brunette answered as he informed his group on how the ware house they were planning to hit was owned by a local business known as Goth Corp, which owned a number of warehouses throughout the city and supplied the strips malls with expensive cameras, jewelry stores with diamonds and drug stores with prescribed medicine.

"And?" A Latina woman in her late 20's, possible 28 with tan brown skin, dark brown hair in a curtain bangs and shag style haircut and chocolate brown eyes asked as she instinctively suspected that her group leader was holding something back about the warehouses owned by Goth Corp.

"And I'm not done yet." The brunette answered in a somewhat childish tone.

"I'm not done yet." A Caucasian woman in her late 20's, possibly the same age as the Latina with natural red hair in a soft shoulder-length shag style haircut and crystal blue eyes replied while mimicking their leader's childish answer, which earned a soft grin from the Latina and reddish blonde.

"Goth Corp also stores various cargo coming in from the docks ranging from gold bars, platinum, currency and drugs belonging to high profile people and other...shady characters." The brunette replied as he revealed to his group on how Goth Corp also stored precious metals, money, cocaine, heroin and other drugs coming in from the docks into the city.

"Are we talking about the Templarios and Nazi Eagles?" An African-American man in his earlier 30's with shaved black hair in a softly buzzed hairstyle and anchor beard asked as he immediately knew what his friend and group leader meant: as they all knew that the city was ruled by numerous crooked businesses and vicious street gangs, which had the Rockay City Police Department outnumbered and outgunned.

"Yep, you guessed it right Mike." The brunette answered with a firm nod as he confirmed his friend's/teammate's suspicions about which gangs stored their valuables in the warehouses throughout the city.

"So Denny, what exactly is the score that Simmons sold us?" The reddish blonde asked while crossing his arms, as he was curious about the job that their business partner gave them.

"Yeah, what are we supposed to be stealing?" The Latina asked as she was equally curious about the job they were about to pull off, as they had no idea what they were supposed to be steal.

"The job that Simmons sold us is rather simple: the warehouse we're going to be hitting on West End just received a shipment of platinum bars, scheduled to be delivered to Rockay City First National tomorrow morning. All we've got to do is break into the warehouse, find the platinum, grab as much as we can and get out. Easy." The brown haired man, known by his friends as Denny Conroy answered as he explained the details of the job to his crew: how the warehouse they would be hitting had received a shipment of platinum bars and they were to sneak inside the warehouse and swipe the platinum before it could be transported to Rockay City National.

"Heh, sounds simple enough. What about security?" The Hispanic man stated with a soft chuckle while asking Denny about the security guards that would be protecting the warehouse.

"We won't have to worry about the guards, since Goth Corps only assigns a small handful of rent a cops to their properties. Our main problem will be dealing with the security cameras." Denny answered as he informed his friends that they wouldn't have to worry about the guards: due to how they scoped out the warehouse a few days ago and studied the security guards routines; as only two or three guards stood sentry inside the warehouse with another guard stationed in the control room while the rest patrolled the perimeter.

"What about civilians?" The African American man, known by his friends/teammates as Mike Gerard asked.

"The warehouse workers usually punch out at 10 pm on the dot.." Denny answered, stating on how the dock workers and warehouse employees normally clocked out at 10pm.

"Usually?" The reddish blonde haired man asked after hearing Denny claim that the employees normally left at 10 pm.

"Well sometimes, the warehouse employees and dock workers stay a bit longer for extra cash." Denny replied as he revealed to his crew and teammates how Goth Corp sometimes offered their employees overtime to earn a little extra money.

"Great, so it won't just be the guards and cameras we'll have to deal with." The Latina muttered softly in annoyance after hearing that she and her crew would have to deal with civilians once they raided the warehouse.

"Well, that's what the zip ties are for Nikki." Denny stated casually as he reminded his crew that they would restrain the guards and warehouse workers with zip ties, so they couldn't radio for help or contact the Rockay City Police Department.

"So Denny, what's the pay?" The red haired woman asked, as she and the rest of their crew were wondering how much they would be paid for pulling off this job with Mike, the reddish blonde and Latina smiling after hearing her question.

"Simmons offered us 40k for the job and an extra 20 grand if we can acquire the platinum neatly and cleanly." Denny answered with a soft smirk on his face and crossing his arms casually as he revealed to his friends/group that their silent partner, Simmons had offered to pay them $40,000 to lift the platinum and offered to throw in an extra 20k if they pulled the job off cleanly, without alerting and getting into a gun fight with the guards and cops.

"For $60 grand? I'm okay with that." The redhead stated with a casual grin on her face, as she was perfectly fine with the terms of their job.

"Especially since you can't say no to that amount of mola, can you Kate?" The Latina, known by her friends as Nicole 'Nikki' Morales stated with a similar grin on her face as she was casually amused by her fellow teammate's choice of words.

"I can say the same for you Nikki." The redhead, known by her friends/crewmates as Caitlyn 'Kate' James replied while playfully nudging Nikki's shoulder.

"Okay then, everyone grab your gear and get ready to roll in 10 minutes." Denny stated as he instructed his crew to prepare their own personal equipment before they headed out to rob the warehouse in ten minutes, whom did just that.

Once Conroy and his group had went over and prepared their gear and weapons, they exited the tile factory and climbed into a dark blue 2000 Model Chevrolet Express cargo van with a Caucasian man in his late 30's, with dark black hair in a Crew Cut style haircut and light greens wearing a navy blue beanie sitting in the driver's seat and drove off away. After driving for what felt like nearly 20 or 25 minutes, Denny and his crew had arrived at the Hispanic/Latino neighborhood of West End and where the dark haired man parked the Chevy cargo near the main gate outside the warehouse, so he wouldn't be spotted by the guards or warehouse workers still hanging around.

"Okay Conroy, you and your people are up." The driver of the cargo van stated while glancing to Denny and his crew, whom wearing full face hockey masks that were spray painted with different colors so they could tell each other apart.

"Just keep the keys in the ignition, Royce. We'll be in and out in just a few minutes." The brunette stated as he and his group placed their customized hockey masks over their faces, opened the sliding door and exited the Chevy cargo van.

"Okay, so does everyone understand their roles?" He asked while glancing between his teammates, wondering if they understood their part in the plan.

"Yeah, we understand Denny. You, John and Mike sneak into the warehouse and deal with the cameras while me, Kate and Sam deal with the guards outside." Nicole answered dryly while rolling her eyes behind her yellow/black colored mask as she and the others understood their roles perfectly: she, Caitlyn and Sam were to deal with the guards patrolling the perimeter whilst Denny, John and Michael entered the warehouse and dealt with the security cameras.

"Good. Okay people...game time." Denny stated while drawing out his Colt Commander handgun and attaching a silencer firmly to the barrel while walking down the road to the warehouse with John, Mike and the rest of their group right behind him.

As they approached the warehouse, Conroy and his crew had immediately crouched down and ducked behind a pile of crates and industrial pipes...as they spotted a security guard smoking a Camel cigarette with his back pressed against the front entrance to the warehouse with a security camera dangling above him as it swerved left and right, scanning for any suspicious people. They had also noticed how the warehouse bay doors were currently, but Denny and his crew knew better than to use the direct approach: as it was the most obvious way for all criminals to be caught or killed and how they spotted a small handful of warehouse employees loading boxes from the sixteen wheeler parked halfway in the loading bay.

Luckily for Denny and his crew, they didn't have to worry about the guard for much longer: as they witnessed him walking away while smoking the cigarette. As soon as the guard was out of sight, Denny broke out of cover, approached the main entrance with his Colt Commander in his right hand and after taking precise aim, fired a single .45 ACP round that struck the camera dead on and rendered it useless!

"Bingo!" The Latino, known by his friends and teammates as John Morales, whom was Denny's right hand man and Nicole's brother stated while trading a soft laugh with Mike and the reddish blonde, whom was known by his crewmates as Samuel 'Sam' Travis after they witnessed their leader take out the camera and thanks to the silencer, no one inside or outside the warehouse heard the gunshot.

After the camera had been taken care of, Denny reached into his right pants pocket, pulled out a lockpick and went straight to work in picking the lock to the door, which fortunately didn't take too long. Once the door had been jimmied open, Conroy swiftly glanced over his left shoulder and motioned for John and Michael to move up, with the two of them nodding in agreement as they swiftly moved from behind cover. As soon as they walked up to Denny, Michael drew out a nickel plated Taurus PT92AFS and John drew out a Beretta 92FS Inox and stacked up on Denny as he quietly opened the door and they entered the warehouse. Once inside, Conroy and his group had quietly ducked behind the crates while skillfully evading the two security cameras and warehouse workers, whom thankfully didn't spot them as they were busy moving the crates from the semi into the warehouse.

As Michael and John stayed behind cover, Denny had silently slip past the warehouse workers and approached the security room, where he drew out his Colt Commander once again and took out the camera with a single bullet. However, as soon as he took out the camera...Conroy couldn't help but visibly flinch as he heard one of the warehouse employees cry out in surprise.

"Hey! What are..." The warehouse employee attempted to cry out...before he was swiftly silenced; due to John sneaking up behind him and striking him upside the head with the butt of his Beretta.

"Sweet dreams, ese." John stated jokingly as he caught the warehouse worker he just knocked unconscious in his arms and gently placed him on the hard cement floor with Denny and Michael nodding, as they and the rest of their crew were morally against killing people in cold blood.

After he witnessed his second in command deal with the warehouse employee, Denny went straight to work in picking the lock to the security room and once he got the door open, he silently peeked inside and couldn't help but shake his head: as he spotted a single guard, who was making a fresh cup of coffee and left the security monitor unattended. Once he stepped inside the security room, Conroy closed the door behind him and drew out his Colt Commander once again.

"Down on the ground, bubba. Now." He stated plainly which deeply surprised the security guard as he swiftly turned around...and stared stunned to see a masked gunman pointing a Colt handgun directly at his head.

"Drop your piece and get on the floor." Denny stated as he ordered the guard to drop his service weapon...who reluctantly did as Conroy ordered as he placed his police issued Colt M1911 onto the ceramic tile covered floor and dropped onto his knees before Denny forced him onto his stomach and hands behind his back as he firmly tied his wrists with one of his zip ties.

As soon as the guard had been restrained with Denny chuckling softly at how the poor excuse for a guard made it so easy for him to catch him by surprise, he walked over to his work station, where he spotted a total of five screens connected to five security cameras: the two that he had just took out and three others that were still online...before he deactivated the three remaining cameras and smiled as the three remaining screens went completely blank.

"This is King. The security room is secured and cameras are offline." Denny stated professionally as he spoke into the earwig radio in his right ear as he informed Sam, Nicole and Caitlyn that the security cameras were offline...which would make the heist much smoother.

"This is Rook. Queen, Pawn and I are approaching the warehouse now." Sam stated over the team radios while smiling underneath his cerulean blue/dark gray painted mask and glancing back to Nicole and Caitlyn, whom also smiled underneath their painted hockey masks: as they had used the name of chess pieces for their codenames.

"This is Knight. Bishop and I are waiting for your signal, King." John replied professionally, stating that he and Michael were waiting patiently for Denny to give the word for them to start ransacking the warehouse.

"Okay, ladies and gentlemen...begin the heist, now!" Conroy stated with a huge grin on his face as he ordered his crew to loot the warehouse.

As soon as Denny gave them the 'okay', John and Michael traded a soft nod before they broke out from behind cover with their Beretta and Taurus handguns drawn out!

"Alright, everybody on the floor now!" John shouted out loud, which deeply alarmed the warehouse workers and security guards, whom stopped what they were doing and stared in horror after seeing two armed masked robbing their place of work!

"This is a robbery! Down now! Now!" Michael cried out after his teammate as they ordered the warehouse workers to drop the floor, whom did just that as the masked African American and Hispanic restraining them with zip ties so they couldn't run.

Although, as John and Michael were busy securing the warehouse employees, they had failed to notice the security guards about to draw out their issued 2nd Generation Glock 17's and were about to order them to drop their own guns...but were cut off, as the intimidating sound of sliding handguard echoed out and turned glanced towards the loading bay entrance to see Sam entering the warehouse, wielding a Remington Model 870 Express Combo pump action shotgun alongside Nicole and Caitlyn, whom were armed with an H&K USP-9 and 3rd Generation Glock 17 semi-automatic handguns.

"Uh uh." The masked reddish blonde stated jokingly as he dared the guards to make the first move as Denny exited the warehouse with his Colt Commander in hand.

"I don't think so." The masked brunette added with the same sarcastic tone in his voice while chuckling softly, alongside his team as the guards simply glanced at the floor with disgruntled looks on their faces as they dropped to their knees and dropped their Glocks.

"Smart move." Nicole stated plainly as she, Kate and Sam secured the guards and forced them, along with the warehouse workers to stand up and locked them in the security room.

Once the guards and warehouse workers were out of the way, Denny and his crew immediately went straight to work in searching the crates for the platinum, but it took them longer than they previous planned: as a huge portion of the crates contained various items that were worthless. But luckily, after ransacking the warehouse for what felt like five whole minutes...Conroy and his crew couldn't help but smile underneath their masks as Caitlyn called out to them.

"Guys, over here! I found the platinum!" The masked red haired woman exclaimed as she waved her teammates, whom walked over to her at the back of the warehouse and saw the platinum, that were crafted into bullion bars that were packed into three separate wooden boxes.

"Nice work Kate." Nikki stated as she gave her fellow teammate a pat on the back for finding the platinum.

"Okay guys, you know what to do." Denny stated casually while turning to John, Michael and Sam, whom gave a simple nod as they placed the olive green/brown duffel bags they carried over their left/right shoulders and held them wide open whilst he, Nicole and Kate placed the platinum bars in the bags.

After they had filled all three bags with the platinum, Conroy had zipped and tossed one bag over his shoulder with Sam and Michael doing the same before they, John, Nikki and Caitlyn exited the warehouse and sprinted back to the Chevy cargo van and tossed the bags inside. Once the bags were in, Denny and his crew jumped into the van with Royce driving off at full speed.

"He he, now that was my kind of job." Sam stated while chuckling softly and sharing a bright grin with John as they, Denny, Michael, Nikki and Caitlyn lifted up their masks.

"Nice job everyone." Denny stated casually while glancing back to his team and bumping fists with John and Michael.

"Ha ha, that was too easy." Nicole stated while sharing a bright grin with her brother and Caitlyn, as the job they just pulled was much easier than they hoped.

"Job isn't over yet. Royce, to the club." Denny replied casually as he reminded his team that the job wasn't finished yet and instructed the driver to take them to a club somewhere in the city.

"Got it Conroy." Royce stated professionally as he instinctively knew where Denny wanted to drive him and his crew as they drove down the vacant city streets.

A/N: There it is everyone, the first chapter to my new Payday Fanfic. I apologize if the 1st chapter seems lacking in details or beating around the bush. It was the best I could do with what I could think of at the time. The next chapter should be posted sometime next month or so. Until next time, bye.
