Alex used the remote and scrolled down a couple of video until he found a video titled "Updated MCU Timeline Watch Order (thru Doctor Strange MoM)".
The video starts with a yellow text heading reading "How to watch the MCU in Chronological Order", as pictures (more likely, screenshots) of the original MCU timeline created as a promotional image for The Avengers, the MCU timeline created for Infinity War, the Disney watch order, and a screenshot of the Marvel Cinematic Universe Wiki.
A bit of Everything: Hello, Marvel fans, today we're going to be looking at how to watch the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the movies and TV shows in chronological order. Now, I've made another video that goes into a lot of detail of how this timeline was put together so if you're interested in all the information behind the scenes, you can watch that video, it's linked down in the comments, but for this video, we're just looking at the order itself, so let's get going.
A yellow text heading appears, reading "March, 1942 - February, 1945" as we see pictures of Steve Rogers and Peggy Carter and the Howling Commandos invading a Hydra base.
Steve and 1946 Peggy smiled at each other.
A bit of Everything: We start in March of 1942 through 1945, which is Captain America: The First Avenger. Pictures of Captain America's frozen shield in the ice and Steve Rogers roaming in present-day Times Square are seen as small yellow text appears in the corner, reading "Note: Prologue and Epilogue happen in 2012". Now, it's worth noting that the prologue and the epilogue of this movie actually happened in 2012, but there's no reason not to watch them when you watch the movie. However, it is recommended to wait to watch the end-credits scene itself and we will discuss when to watch that in the timeline. A yellow text heading appears, reading "March, 1946" as we see Peggy Carter and Howard Stark at his pool. Next, we move to March of 1946 for the Agent Carter One-Shot, now, note: that this does not involve the Agent Carter TV show because Disney has not officially made that canon nor have they made the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. or the Netflix shows officially canon, they may well in the future but for now, they're not so they will not be included in this particular timeline. A yellow text heading appears, reading "June, 1995" as pictures of Carol joining Starforce, Carol and a young Nick Fury's team-up, and a then-new file of the "Avengers Initiative" is seen. Then, we jump to June of 1995 for Captain Marvel (we see small yellow text appearing, reading "Note: Wait to watch the first end credits scene") and it's worth noting that you should not watch the end-credits scene at this point in time. We see a yellow text heading appear, reading January - November, 2010 (actually February - November, 2009) as we see pictures of the Iron Man Mark IArmor, Iron Man (in his Mark III Armor) attacking the Ten Rings in Gulmira, and Tony revealing to the world that he is Iron Man. Then, we go to January through November 2010 for the movie that started it all, Iron Man. A yellow text heading appears, reading "April - June, 2011 (actually April - June, 2010), as we see pictures of Iron Man and War Machine teaming up against Whiplash's army, the Battle of Harlem, and Thor and Loki confronting the Jotunheim army. Then, six months later, we have a quick, pretty busy time frame here, we have Iron Man 2, Incredible Hulk, and Thor all happening at one point, simultaneously at least a week of each movie completely overlaps in what is called Fury's Big Week and we see that when we look at Iron Man 2, there's a scene near the end with a reporter on a monitor and she is actually reporting on the events happening in The Incredible Hulk (a picture of Coulson in the convenience store is seen), likewise, Agent Coulson leaves Tony Stark's side, he appears in the One-Shot A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to Thor's Hammer and then he shows up in the Thor movie, so they are all happening simultaneously, uh, during a certain point of their movies and then it's worth noting that after Thor, the One-Shot called The Consultant then occurs (a picture of the diner scene between Coulson and Sitwell appears, as small yellow text underneath appears, reading "Note: Includes Incredible Hulk end credit scene")
Everybody angrily glared at Sitwell.
A bit of Everything: and it's also worth noting that this One-Shot completely plays The Incredible Hulk's end-credit scene so it's worth just skipping it when you watch The Incredible Hulk and waiting to pick it up in context during this One-Shot. A yellow text heading appears, reading "May, 2012" as we see a picture of Steve Rogers at the gym as Fury approaches him with the mission. And then we move to May of 2012 and at this point, you can watch Captain America: The First Avenger's end-credits scene. A picture of The Avengers' coming together shot during The Battle of New York is seen. And then watch The Avengers. We see the group of thieves with a Chitauri weapon. Following that it is the One-Shot Item 47 and then also it's very interesting, (a picture of the Avengers watching Thor take Loki back to Asgard is seen) still in May, uh, Thor takes Loki up to Asgard at the end of Avengers and the opening scene for (we see a picture of Loki standing trial on Asgard for his crimes on Earth) Thor: The Dark World is them arriving in Asgard, so, Thor: The Dark World actually picks up right after Avengers, now the rest of the movie featuring all of the main battles (a yellow text heading appears, reading "November, 2013" as all the same pictures and Thor arriving on Earth for the final battle against Malekith) actually occurs almost a year and a half later in November of 2013, but from watch order, Marvel recommends watching Thor: The Dark World after Avengers. A yellow text heading appears, reading "December, 2012", as pictures appear, showing the Iron Legion and Trevor Slattery posing as the Mandarin.
Everybody groaned at the "Mandarin".
A bit of Everything: Then next is Iron Man 3 and that occurs in December of 2012 and of course that's the introduction of, sort of, The Mandarin and then a year later (the yellow text heading changes to "December, 2013" as the same pictures and Trevor in prison appear) in December of 2013, we pick up with the One-Shot All Hail the King again following the would-be Mandarin and his story. A yellow text heading appears, reading "April, 2014" as we see pictures of Captain America and Black Widow in their S.T.R.I.K.E. uniforms, Winter Soldier punching Steve's shield, and Falcon in his first suit. And then we move to April of 2014 for Captain America: The Winter Soldier. A yellow text heading appears, reading "August and October, 2014", as pictures of the original Guardians in their original suits and the Guardians, Mantis, Yondu, Kraglin, and Nebula teaming up on Ego's Planet. Then, in the same year, August and October of 2014, we have both Guardians 1 and Guardians 2. They're both really meant to be back-to-back stories, occurring within just a few months of each other in 2014. A yellow text heading appears, reading "April - May, 2015", as we see pictures of Ultron, the Avengers with a couple of new members standing up to Ultron's army, and Wanda and Pietro Maximoff. Then, we move to 2015, April to May, for Avengers: Age of Ultron. A yellow text heading appears, reading "July - August, 2015", as we see pictures of Scott dressing up in the Ant-Man suit for the first time, Yellowjacket confronting Ant-Man, and Ant-Man riding "Ant-Tony". Then, just two months later, in July through August of 2015 is the first Ant-Man movie. A yellow text heading appears, reading "May - June, 2016" as we see pictures of Team Iron Man ready to fight Team Cap, Team Cap facing off against Team Iron Man, Spider-Man's debut and stealing Cap's shield, and Cap and Iron Man's fight at the end of the movie. Then, nearly a year later, in May to June of 2016 is Captain America: Civil War. Small yellow text appears in the corner, reading "Note: Epilogue happens after Black Widow". Now, it's worth noting that the epilogue of this movie technically happens after Black Widow, but there's no harm in watching it at this point, it will just make a little more sense after watching Black Widow and speaking of... (a yellow text heading appears, reading "June, July, September, 2016" as we see pictures of Black Widow breaking out Alexei, Black Panther standing up to Killmonger's army, and Tony showing Peter his Iron Spider suit) right after this movie in June of 2016, three movies pick up, those being Black Widow, Black Panther, and Spider-Man: Homecoming and they deal with the aftermath for those three main characters of the Civil War movie, now some of them, then carry on into June in the case of Black Panther and/or into July for Black Panther, in September for Spider-Man, but they all start right after Civil War. Small yellow text appears in the left-hand corner, reading "Note: Wait to watch the end-credits scene". It's also worth noting that for Black Widow, you should wait to watch the end-credits scene. A yellow text heading appears, reading "February, 2016 to January, 2017" as pictures of Strange and Palmer at the hospital, The Ancient One teaching Strange, Dormammu, and Strange keeping him and Dormammu in a time loop are seen. We then watch Doctor Strange, which has a long duration from February of 2016 through January of 2017, so it technically starts before Civil War but from a watch order, is recommended after Civil War. It starts with him as a surgeon and then his time in Kamar-Taj and of course, his final battle with Dormammu. A yellow text heading appears, reading "November, 2017" as pictures of Strange and Thor looking for Odin, Thor and Hulk's fight on Sakaar, and the Revengers standing up to Hela are seen. We then move to November of 2017 and we again see Doctor Strange, this time in Thor: Ragnarok and it's important to note that the end-credits scene (small yellow text appears in the right-hand corner, reading "Note: Wait to watch the first end-credits scene") for this movie, the first one should be held off and not watched at this point. A yellow text heading appears, reading "April - May, 2018" as we see pictures of Ant-Man and Wasp teaming up, Ava Starr as Ghost, and Giant-Man. And then we move to April to May of 2018 for Ant-Man and the Wasp and once again, it has an end-credits scene that you should not watch at this point. A yellow text heading appears, reading "May, 2018, as pictures of Loki and Thor encountering the Sanctuary II and the Sanctuary II are seen. Then, just one month or in the same month, rather, of May of 2018, we now get to watch the Thor: Ragnarok end-credits scene (a picture of Thanos and the Black Order is seen) as it leads directly into Avengers: Infinity War (pictures of the Avengers standing off against Thanos on Titan and the Avengers standing up to the army on Wakanda are seen), then there are the multiple battles throughout the movie and then once the movie has ended, you can watch the Ant-Man and the Wasp end-credits scene (a picture of Scott preparing to go into the Quantum Realm is seen) and the Captain Marvel (a picture of Carol confronting the Avengers is seen) end-credits scene. A yellow text heading appears, reading "June, 2018 and October, 2023" as pictures of the Avengers preparing to suit up, the Avengers right before they time travel, Captain America saying the iconic "Avengers Assemble!" line, and Iron Man's snap are seen. We then move into Avengers: Endgame just one month later in June of 2018 and of course, it includes the five-year time jump so, by the time it's done it's October of 2023. We see a yellow text heading appears, reading "November, 2023" as a picture of President Loki's gang of Lokis is seen. Then, in November of 2023, a lot of important things happen from a watch order: the Loki TV show makes sense to happen next, I mean technically it's happening in 2012 but it's as a result of the Time Heist in the Avengers: Endgame movie so at this point, it should be watched, followed by What If...? (a picture of all the possible realities is seen, with Captain Carter in the center) and What If...? includes in the final episodes, uh, an Incursion of several universes which would not have been able to happen if not for the events of Loki, so Loki directly results in What If...?. A picture of Wanda, her Vision, Billy, and Tommy fighting off against the S.W.O.R.D. agents and Agatha is shown. Likewise, WandaVision is just a few months after the end of Endgame and the final scene of WandaVision where she is looking across the multiverse to try to find her kids would not have been able to happen if not for the end of Loki. A yellow text heading appears, reading "April - May, 2024" as we see pictures of Falcon and Bucky teaming up and John Walker as Captain America are seen.
Everybody glared at Walker.
A bit of Everything: Then, we moved to April to June of 2024 to pick up Falcon and the Winter Soldier. A yellow text appears, reading "March - April, 2024" as pictures of the fight on the bus, Shang-Chi and Wenwu's Ten Rings duel, the return of Trevor Slattery, and Wong recruiting Shang-Chi and Katy are seen. Then, in March through April of 2024 is Shang-Chi, which technically starts a little before Falcon and the Winter Soldier but since they're happening practically at the same time, it's a recommended watch order to watch this second. A yellow text heading appears, reading"June, 2024" as pictures of the reunited Eternals, Arishem, and the Eternals fighting the Deviants are shown. Then, in June of 2024, the Eternals. A yellow text heading appears, reading "Multiverse Stories" as a picture of Peter-2 trying to shoot webs is shown. Then, if you've not watched them at this point it's a good time to stop and watch the multiverse stories, now those include the Amazing or the Spider-Man movies, one, two, and three. We see Peter-3's original suit.
Everybody gagged throwing up at the suit. [1]
A bit of Everything: The Amazing Spider-Man 1 and 2, Venom and Venom: Let There Be Carnage (a picture of Venom is shown), and Morbius (a picture of Morbius is shown as small yellow text appears, reading "Note: Wait to watch Venom: Let There Be Carnage and Morbius end-credits scene"). Then, it's worth noting that you should wait to watch the Venom: Let There Be Carnage and Morbius end-credits scene. A yellow text heading appears, reading "June - July, 2024", as a picture of Peter and Beck's meeting is seen. Then, in June through July of 2024 occurs Spider-Man: Far From Home and as soon as that movie is done, you can watch (we see Eddie and Venom sitting on a beach) the end-credits scene to Venom: Let There Be Carnage. The yellow text heading changes to "July - November, 2024" as a picture of Peter's astral form confronting Strange is seen. Then, Spider-Man: No Way Home picks up immediately after Far From Home, spanning from July through November of 2024, and after it's done, (a picture of Adrian appearing a prison cell in the SSU is seen) you can watch the Morbius end-credits scene. A yellow text heading appears, reading "November, 2024" as pictures of Gargantos in New York, Wanda in her Scarlet Witch outfit, Strange entering Strange Supreme's sanctum, Strange Supreme, and 616-Strange impersonating Zombie Strange are seen. Then, in November of 2024, it is Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Now being placed in this order because if you notice the tree in the background in the battle with Gargantos, the leaves have all turned and most have fallen out, so that would put it very close to when No Way Home happened and of course we know that Multiverse of Madness happens after No Way Home. A yellow text heading appears, reading "December, 2024", as a picture of Val sending Yelena on her next mission is seen. Then, in December of 2024, you can finally watch the Black Widow end-credits scene, followed by the Hawkeye TV show (we see pictures of Kate and Clint teaming up against the Tracksuits, Kate in her suit, people taking pictures of the Christmas tree, and Eleanor and Jack together) and that of course occurs in Christmas of 2024. A yellow text heading appears, reading "Early 2025", as we see Moon Knight, Khonshu talking to Marc/Steven, and Steven looking into a mirror and seeing Marc. And, finally we end with Moon Knight, we know it's in 2025 because the Disney watch order shows it happening after Hawkeye but it's unclear exactly when in 2025 but I'm sure we'll learn more as time goes on and so, there you have it, that is the Marvel Cinematic Universe in watch order. I hope you've enjoyed watching it. You can also watch the longer video that explains this timeline order and you can like and subscribe if you'd like to see more content like this, thanks for watching and enjoy the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The video cuts to black. End of video.
And that's the chapter. In the next chapter, we'll go over the video "Doctor Strange 2: What Happened to Wanda?"
[1] And let the hate towards Andrew's ASM suit begin.
