Mack Fun Facts:
1. The first time Mack speaks is in C2. It's the word 'Hello' and it's directed at Cas. After that she starts talking more, but until the end of S4, it's mostly only to Cas.
2. Dean's nickname for her- bug- comes from the fact that Mack was fascinated with lights as a baby. We see this briefly in C8 in the excerpt from the first 'Supernatural' book Dean is reading. After Dean changes her diaper, Mack becomes entranced with the light over the bathroom mirror.
3. Mack gets kidnapped ten times over the course of eight years. Ruby (C4) takes her and Anna when Alastair shows up at the church, Zachariah (C21) kidnaps both her and Adam and takes them to the Green Room, Lucifer (C22) kidnaps her as part of his plan to get Sam to say yes, John (C26) kidnaps her after she ran away from Lisa and Ben's house, Crowley (C43) kidnaps her along with Lisa and Ben to get Dean to stand down, Cas (C44) kidnaps her in order to get Dean to stand down while he opens Purgatory, Dick's Leviathans (C51) kidnap her while Sam, Dean and Bobby are fighting Dick with Charlie, Benny's old nest (C57) kidnaps her after ambushing her and Benny, Naomi (C63) kidnaps her in order to keep Cas in line, and finally Abaddon (C72) kidnaps her in a futile attempt to get rid of Dean in order to become queen of Hell.
4. The first time Mack kills a monster (a demon) occurs in C12. She kills one of the demons who accompanied Meg during the attack that leaves Bobby paralyzed. Up until that point, Dean had been careful to either leave her at Bobby's or in the car during the parts of hunts involving killing monsters in an attempt to shield her from that part of the life. She's 5 at that point.
5. Mack did get an anti-possession tattoo during her time hunting solo while Dean and Cas were in Purgatory. Originally, it was planned to have her get injured so Dean would discover said tattoo, but it didn't make it into the final cut.
6. C35 was originally supposed to cover the Soulless Sam reveal and the Alpha Vamp case. After Mack's meltdown in C34, I realized I had to change it so we could see her getting the help she needed instead of just mentioning her getting help in passing, which is why C35 is her in the children's psych ward of the hospital instead.
Destiel Fun Facts:
1. Dean is technically the first one to express feelings in C13 when Cas offers to watch over him after they go after Raphael. He tells Cas that he cares for him, but he doesn't think that's a good idea.
2. The first time they have sex is in C15 after Cas saves Dean from Zachariah. Afterwards, Dean tells Cas about the future Zach showed him and expresses concern about how he can prevent it without saying yes to Michael. Their first kiss occurs just before they have sex.
3. Unsurprisingly, Cas is the first one to outright say 'I love you'. It occurs in C20 while Cas is beating Dean up in the alley for trying to leave and say yes to Michael after Dean knocks Mack out in the panic room at Bobby's.
4. Dean finally says 'I love you' for the first time 23 chapters later in C43, ironically, also in the middle of a fight. He's trying to get Cas to stand down and not open the door to Purgatory and the words just slip out.
5. The last time Dean and Cas are intimately involved occurs in C23. I included part of the S15 love confession in their conversation in order to properly convey Cas' feelings toward Dean since I wasn't planning on writing out episodes past S9. The conversation ends with Dean and Cas "[allowing] themselves to get lost in each other's arms, and for the first time ever, Cas [falls] asleep beside Dean in a tangle of limbs and sheets".
6. The last time they kiss is in C54- Purgatory. On Day 369, when they reach the portal, Cas stops Dean briefly for one last kiss.
Other Fun Facts:
1. The original plan for S6 was to bring back John instead of Samuel and have both John and Soulless!Sam kidnap Mack. This idea was scrapped because it would have required a lot of rewrites, and instead John was brought in as a side character.
2. The majority of S9 occurs in Dean's head. The "perfect" life he's living is all an illusion Michael created to keep him placated while he took over.
3. As we see in the flashbacks in C72, Dean actually said yes to Michael in C21 instead of Adam. All the events following that still occurred how we originally saw them, Dean just wasn't involved. Lucifer still kidnapped Mack and used her to trick Sam into saying yes, Michael!Dean and Lucifer!Sam still fought at Stull Cemetery, and Adam still really fell into the cage with Lucifer!Sam. When Michael changed everyone's memories to believe Adam had said yes instead of Dean, he kept all these events intact.
4. Cas was using borrowed grace during the showdown with Michael in C72, just like he actually uses borrowed grace in S9. That's why when he kills himself after killing Michael, his wings are singed into the floor to mingle with Michael's.
5. The ending of TLB was changed three times: Originally, it was planned to write out the first three episodes of S9, with one extra chapter to show Mack hunting solo and running into Abaddon, who killed her. Dean was supposed to find out about it during 9.02 when he and Sam tracked down Abaddon which would have sent him spiraling. That ending was scrapped in order to include more of S9, such as the Mark of Cain and Dean getting revenge on Abaddon for killing Mack. I wasn't satisfied with that ending either, and so after talking with fortheloveofcas101, we came up with the ending where Dean had said yes to Michael and spent the majority of S9 trapped in his own head before the big reveal at the end.
6. TLB totals nearly 300K words and over 500 pages in its entirety. It's the longest fanfic I've written to date, even though it has fewer chapters than some of my other stories.
