The Slave girl and the King

Chapter 8

Ann constantly was looking out the window. Frieza didn't say anything as Ann went over to the window, instead he sat in his seat and he watched her. Not too long after King Cold came in after they had. They were now getting closer to the planet. It had a pinkish hue to it with bits of blue. It looked pretty.

Frieza then spoke, bringing Ann out of her trance. "Zarbon, ready my men to land as soon as we enter the planet's atmosphere."

Ann realized that she had walked over to the glass without asking. "I'm sorry master, forgive me… I had never seen the stars before." She came over to him and kneeled and hung her head in shame.

"It's quite alright Ann, you can continue to look if you wish, however, I warn you that this is not going to be pretty."

"Thank you master." She got back up and went back to the glass to look out but she didn't have any idea of what he meant, though she wanted to see what was happening.

He pushed a button to his right and his seat moved closer to the window. This is what Frieza usually did. He had to oversee everything that he could. He also considered it entertaining. Ann watched as the main ship got closer into the planet's atmosphere. The aliens on the planet looked odd to Ann, but they all were looking up at the sky and some were coming out of their little huts. Not long afterwards, many of Lord Frieza's men began flying towards the planet. Them flying really surprised Ann, she had never seen anyone fly before. As soon as the men landed, there was chaos. Many of the men started shooting what looked like was beams of lights at many of the people.

Ann's eyes got wide. She couldn't believe what she was seeing. "Wha..Wha..wha..what are they doing!?" She exclaimed. She started breathing heavily looking back and forth at all the chaos below. She was witnessing females with their babies running and then being turned to nothing by beams of energy below.

Lord Frieza realized that Ann had become hysterical. She was screaming all kinds of stuff, like no, stop, this can't be happening.

"No no!" by this time Ann was crying and breathing more heavily to the point that she was hyperventilating. She began having flashbacks from her childhood. A thought then occurred to her.. what if this was the same thing that happened before her own mother had been killed. She started shaking all over and felt like she couldn't breathe and was gasping for air and grasping her chest, her vision was going blurry, then everything went black. She had collapsed onto the floor, unconscious.

Ann slowly opened her eyes again. She saw a white ceiling and then looked at herself to see where she was. She was laying in a bed on her back and covered up. She felt weak and took a deep breath. She looked to her right and her Master was sitting there in a chair.

She tried to sit up but Frieza stopped her and gently made her lie down. "Oh no, Ann you need to stay lying down for a bit."

She was shocked. She remembered everything she saw though she tried not to think about it and only looked at her master.

"You had an anxiety attack and passed out and you also hit your head in the process on the floor. If I had known that would happen to you, I would have never let you watch what was happening." He let out a heavy sigh and sat back on the chair by her bed.

She looked at him quietly for a moment, unsure of what to say and looked at the ceiling. She had seen some bad stuff before. She once saw a slave get beat so bad that they had died the next day but never had she seen so many people die. Not just Children but everyone.

Frieza only sat there watching her stare at the ceiling for a few minutes, then finally Ann spoke. "Why was that happening?"

She never looked at him but she waited for an answer.

He let out a sigh. "I'm in the planetary business. I have clients who need a planet for whatever reason and I fill their needs for money." he paused. "However not all orders require the purging of a planet."

"What does purging mean?" Ann asked and she looked at him.

"It means to remove something from a place and in this case it means to remove the inhabitants." He paused. "Sometimes we only need a resource from a planet and then we go in to negotiate and trade." He watched her expression but she had none.

She looked back at the ceiling again not saying anything for several seconds.

"Do… Do you think the same thing happened to the planet I lived on before I became a slave?" She then looked at him.

Frieza looked at her for a moment, not answering, knowing that was a difficult question. She sighed and closed his eyes. "I am sure that it is quite possible what happened." He then looked at her to see how she would react.

She didn't say anything for a few seconds but looked at the ceiling again. She had thoughts of the events that day and of her childhood.

Finally she spoke. "It doesn't matter anyways. My mother didn't care about me." She paused thinking.

Frieza didn't say anything. I mean he didn't know what to say to that.

She spoke again, still looking at the ceiling. "My mother watched me almost die once. I was very sick, she never tried to do anything for me. I somehow lived. Now that I think of it I believe there may have been times she tried to kill me but I have little memory of it, then sometime later, they came."

When Ann didn't say anymore for a while Frieza spoke. "Ann?"

She looked at him as if taken out of her trance. "Yes master?"

"Are you feeling alright?" He was concerned about her head. They had scanned her head but she seemed fine but he feared there was something they couldn't see.

"Yes master. Thank you for your kindness to me. Forgive me for causing you so much trouble. I didn't mean to." She had sadness in her eyes.

He let out a sigh. "You are no trouble Ann. I shouldn't have let you watch what happened."

Ann shook her head. "No Master, I wanted to but you only allowed me to, so it is not your fault."

"Are you going to be okay Ann?" He asked her, concerned for her head, and other things he didn't want to admit.

She gave him a smile. She had never even had her old master to care anything for her. "I'm alright Master, I am not angry with you or anyone. It is not my place to question what you do, forgive me for asking you Master, it was rude of me."

"From now on Ann, you are to stay in your room while we are purging. Also Ann, there is nothing to forgive, you can always ask me anything. After all we will soon start your studies and you do have a lot to learn."

"Thank you master." Ann smiled at him, thinking of the prospect of learning. For now she tried not to think of what happened. She did that often when she saw bad things. She wouldn't think of them if she could help it.

"You are most welcome Ann, For now try to rest and then later when you feel up to it, we will begin." He then left the room.
