If you're gonna flame/hate, just remember Episode 6. I do this for fun and to tell a story.
Edit 6/16/2023: A previous version of this chapter used Gouro Akechi instead of Gouro Amamiya. The translation I read used Gouro Akechi, but it seems the official English translation uses a different name. I have corrected this and I apologize. I read the Spanish translation as it's my first language, so I am sorry for the confusion.
Thanks for reading.
This story is a work of fiction.
Or perhaps, it would be better to say all of reality itself is fiction.
A reality built and based on lies.
A reality that was forever changed when Ai Hoshino, the star of the idol group B-Komachi, was murdered in cold blood by a deranged stalker.
To the public, she was a tragedy. A young idol's life cut short by a deranged fan.
A deranged fan that was molded by the reality of lies.
But a deranged fan nonetheless.
Though still remembered fondly today, Ai Hoshino's life story is now nothing more than a sad tale teenagers would talk about when discussing songs that still occasionally were used in indie films or video games.
The truth however, is hidden in this reality of lies.
The truth is the legacy of Ai Hoshino lives on in her two secret children.
Aqua Hoshino, a rising teen actor and secretly the reincarnation of Gorou Amamiya, a genius doctor from the Miyazaki prefecture.
Ruby Hoshino, a self-proclaimed idol and star in B-Komechi 2.0, and secretly the reincarnation of the sickly child and former patient of Gorou Amamiya, Sarina Tendouji.
The two of them both knew the truth that they were reincarnated, yet the truth of who they were and the relationship they had with one another was buried under this reality of lies.
Atleast, it was until a certain day came to pass.
It was like any other day, Aqua had gone to the Directors house per usual, so Ruby snuck into his room to steal the latest volume of "Sweet Today" to read before secretly placing it back where it belonged.
She never thought that she would find information that would cause this reality of lies to crumble apart.
"Geez, you'd think Aqua would keep this place clean…" Ruby complained to no one in particular as she shuffled through Aqua's room, casually pulling out stacks of manga he kept on a shelf as she frantically searched for the new volume. Ever since she accidently let it slip that she had been coming in here to search for the newest volume, Aqua had begun hiding them in an attempt to dissuade her from snooping around.
As she went through another stack without any luck, Ruby gave a sigh as she dropped the stack of manga to the floor as she fell back into Aqua's chair and closed her eyes, exhausted from having spent several minutes here looking for her prized manga.
"Blugh, why can't he just share it with me?" Ruby once again complained to thin air as she laid back in Aqua's chair as she used her foot to lazily spin herself around, her eyes looking up at the various posters of Ai hung on Aqua's walls. Though she was prone to smile whenever she saw Ai's image, a wave of sadness washed over her as well as her eyes flickered down to the blackened PC screen in front of her. "Aqua…Has been so different since you did, Mama…He's been so cold and distant."
Ruby sunk into the chair as she stopped spinning, pulling her legs up as she wrapped her arms around them, resting her head on them as she sighed. Even though she only knew the bright and cheerful Aqua for a few years, she still longed for that everyday. She longed to see her brother happy and not depressed.
Perhaps it was a foolish thought, afterall it's not like her or Aqua really knew who each other were. Sure they were siblings, but most of their interactions came when they were young and the two of them had slowly drifted apart somewhat as they grew older.
They still talked of course, and Ruby just had a sense that if anything were to happen to her, Aqua would help her in a heartbeat.
But still, she just wanted him to smile.
She didn't know why, but whenever she thought about Aqua as he was when he was younger, and the ways he talked, he almost reminded her of…"Sensei…I wonder how he's doing nowadays."
Ruby sad with another sad undertone, reminiscing as she remembered the doctor who watched over her, Gorou Amamiya. A part of her was sure he only did so because he felt bad for her, afterall she heard stories from the nurses that he was the type to visit every patient who rarely got visitors.
But…To her, that was even more admirable. He didn't visit her because he was just her doctor, or because he was some kind of pervert.
He did it because he genuinely felt sorry she had almost nobody else in her life.
It was because of this that Ruby experienced a feeling she had yet to experience since.
Love.
Not love in the familiar sense, but in the romantic sense. She didn't fully grasp it at the time, but as she grew older in her new life, and learned more about the world.
She was positive the feelings she felt for Amamiya were nothing but pure love for him.
Ruby felt her cheeks blush, as she gave a small laugh to herself as she traced her finger across her knee. "Well even still, I'm sure he has a girlfriend or something now…It's been sixteen years after all, and he was pretty popular…"
Ruby said with a hint of sadness as she closed her eyes.
"But still, if given the chance I…" Ruby didn't finish her sentence as she buried her head into her legs, concealing her brightening blush as she quickly shook her head back and forth. "Geez, thinking about stuff like this, I just want to read Sweet Today!"
Reaffirming why she came in her in the first place, Ruby pulled her head up as she went lowered her legs, as she grabbed the desk in front of her to push the chair back so she could jump and get to searching again.
However, as she pushed on the desk, she accidently moved the mouse and caused the monitor to light back up. Ruby gave it a quick glance, before she intended to go back to looking.
However…
The search result shocked her.
Gorou Amamiya Missing Body
She stopped what she was doing, as she was halfway out of the chair, she fell fully back into it as her eyes went wide, her mouth slightly agape as she stuttered the words out. "...W-What? Gorou Amamiya…"
In other words.
"S-Sensei…?" Ruby looked at the screen in disbelief, questions racing through her mind.
How does Aqua know who Amamiyais?
Why does it say missing body?
Could it be a different Gorou Amamiya?
But Aqua had never brought that name up before…
And why would he be looking up a body?
Ruby felt her chest tighten as she ran a hand over it, her breathing becoming ragged as she forced herself to look at the search results. This seemed to prove beneficial, as none of the search results mentioned anything about Amamiya or missing bodies.
Maybe this was a big ball of nothing.
But even still, the search result had reeled her in.
With a shaky hand, Ruby moved her hand over and grabbed the mouse, giving a gulp as she clicked on the search bar. Though she wasn't the best with technology, she knew enough that your last search results would be saved. Moving the mouse over, she highlighted Missing Body…
And Hit Delete.
As soon as she did, the previous search results reared their heads.
Gorou Amamiya Dead
Gorou Amamiya Doctor Dead
Gorou Amamiya Body Found
Gorou Amamiya Missing
Gorou Amamiya Doctor Fired
Gorou Amamiya Miyazaki prefecture
Gorou Amamiya Ai Hoshino
Ruby's eyes looked over the list, her heart rate increasing. If it had been a different Gorou Amamiya , then perhaps it wouldn't be too strange to search up a missing body. She could make herself believe that to be the truth.
But Doctor.
Miyazaki Prefecture.
Ai Hoshino…
Ruby knew, she knew this was her Sensei.
But why…Why was her twin brother not only looking up her old doctor, but searching for his body? Was it possible that Amamiya had delivered her and Aqua? She didn't have any memories of her birth besides Ai's face, so perhaps it wasn't impossible.
But the body and dead part…What did it all mean!?
Ruby was scared, two possibilities clouding her mind as she shook in the chair.
Either Gorou Amamiya had met Aqua somehow, yet went missing and Aqua was looking for him.
Or…Aqua was…
Biting down on her lip, Ruby cleared the search bar once again, and typed in a different name. It couldn't be, afterall if it was, the search history wouldn't-
Sarina Tendouji
Sarina Tendouji Obituary
Sarina Tendouji Twelve Years Old Obituary
Sarina Tendouji. Twelve Years Old Miyazaki Prefecture Obituary
Ruby's hand dropped down off the mouse, hanging by her side as she just stared.
There was no way for Aqua to know who she was in her past life, she had died four years before Aqua was born.
So why?
Why was he looking up her obituary?
The only reason he would do that, is if…
Ruby's eyes suddenly shined, an old memory resurfacing in her head.
It was years ago when she was still a toddler, she always thought it was a dream, yet she could clearly remember hearing it in Aqua's voice.
"She's just like you, Sarina-chan."
That…Was no dream.
That…
"Hey…What are you doing in my room?" Ruby's spine suddenly tingled as she heard a familiar voice behind her, her face flushing red as she slowly turned around in the chair, her eyes sparkling like stars as she looked at the figure in the door.
It was Aqua Hoshino, her brother, dressed in his usual sweatshirt and casual pants. Though an annoyed expression was worn on his face, he didn't seem particularly angry as he closed his eyes and sighed.
"If you're looking for Sweet Today, it doesn't come out until tomorrow, it got delayed this week because of some issues with the editor." Aqua spoke almost softly as he walked forward, stuffing his hands in his pockets as he looked down at the mess on his floor. "I hope you don't expect me to clean this up myself."
Ruby however barely paid attention to his words and more so his voice, she honed in on it, collecting inflections and how he said certain words. The more she did so, the more she felt her heart pound against her chest, the blush on her face only brightening as her eye's appeared starstruck.
Perking his view up, Aqua locked eyes with Ruby as he tilted his head. "Ruby, are you listening?"
As she heard her name called by him, Ruby's body stiffened as she placed her hands together in front of her, and said only one thing…
"...Sensei…?"
