A day passed by, and Steven couldn't stop thinking about Lapis.

He looked out the window where the moon takes place.

He sat on his bed, considering whether he should visit the moon base, the last place they were together, in the hopes of finding Lapis.

Unknown to him, Garnet was aware of his plan through her vision.

She appeared before him, arms crossed.

"Steven, I understand your concern, but Lapis won't be at the moon base. She's moved on to a new location."

Steven looked surprised but determined.

"Are you sure, Garnet? I just can't shake the feeling that I need to make sure she's okay."

Garnet nodded, acknowledging his feelings.

"I know you care deeply for her, but trust me, going to the moon base won't lead you to Lapis. She needs space and time to heal."

Steven sighed, still torn between his heart and Garnet's warning.

"I get it, but I can't help but worry. What if something happened to her after she left the moon base?"

Garnet reassured him, "As the leader, I promise to keep an eye on her well-being. And you can always talk to me about how you feel."

Despite Garnet's warning, Steven felt a strong urge to make sure Lapis was alright.

"What if I just go to the moon base to see for myself, even if she's not there."

Garnet softened her gaze, understanding his need for closure.

"I won't stop you, Steven. But promise me you'll be careful and considerate of her feelings. Respect her decision to move on."

"I promise," Steven said sincerely.

"I'll be careful, and I won't push her if she doesn't want to see me."

Garnet smiled, appreciating Steven's willingness to listen and his determination to do what he believed was right.

"Alright, then. If you feel you must go, I trust you to handle it responsibly. And remember, I'm here for you if you need support."

With Garnet's understanding, Steven decided to launch on the journey to the moon base, not to find Lapis, but to find closure in his heart.

He knew that sometimes, certain feelings needed to be acknowledged and respected, even if the outcome might not be what he originally hoped for.

Despite Garnet's warning that Lapis wouldn't be at the moon base, Steven couldn't shake his concern for her well-being.

He felt the need to make sure she was okay, even if it meant confirming she wasn't there.

Steven decided to talk to Amethyst about his plan. He found her in her room, munching on some snacks as usual.

"Hey, Amethyst," he began hesitantly.

"I need your help with something. I want to go to the moon base to check on Lapis, even though Garnet said she won't be there."

Amethyst looked up, her eyes softening with understanding.

"Steven, I get that you're worried. I'll go with you. Just in case, ya know?"

"Thanks, Amethyst. I appreciate it," Steven replied gratefully.

Together, they made their way to the moon base. Steven felt a mix of nervousness and tension.

He knew that Garnet had seen the possibilities, but he still had to see for himself.

With the help of Steven's lion, they reached the moon base, Steven took a deep breath and stepped inside. Amethyst followed closely behind, providing the support he needed.

They searched through the base, but Lapis was nowhere to be found. Steven's heart sank a little, but he also felt a sense of relief.

It confirmed Garnet's vision, but he was glad he had come to see for himself.

"So she isn't here," Ameythst said.

Steven turned to Amethyst and smiled faintly.

"Thanks for coming with me, Amethyst. I needed to be sure."

Amethyst wrapped her arm around him in a comforting gesture.

"No problem, Steven. Sometimes, you gotta see things with your own eyes to find peace."

Steven nodded, appreciative for Amethyst's understanding.

"You're right. I just hope she's doing okay wherever she is."

"I'm sure she is, Steven. And if she ever needs us, we'll be here for her," Amethyst reassured him.

Steven and Amethyst wonders around the moon base, Amethyst couldn't help but wonder about why Lapis had left Peridot behind.

She sat down on the floor, deep in thought, while Steven joined her.

"I can't stop thinking about Lapis and Peridot," Amethyst said with a sigh.

"It just seems so cruel to leave Peridot like that, especially after everything they've been through together."

Steven nodded in agreement, understanding her concern.

"Yeah, it's tough to see Peridot feeling so down. I wish we could do something to help her too."

Amethyst leaned back on the wall, lost in her thoughts.

"I wonder why Lapis left in the first place. Maybe it was too much for her to handle, being on Earth and all." Amethyst wondered.

"Maybe something actually bad happened before we found Peridot on the ground crying that time, remember?" she recalled.

"Could be," Steven replied, pondering the possibilities.

"Or maybe she needed time to figure things out on her own. You know how she values her space and independence."

Amethyst sighed again. "I get that, but it still stinks for Peridot. She didn't deserve to be left like this."

"True," Steven agreed.

"But sometimes, people need to make tough choices for their own well-being, even if it affects others."

Amethyst glanced at Steven, appreciating his empathy and understanding.

"You're right. It's just hard seeing Peridot like this."

"We'll be here for Peridot," Steven reassured her.

"Just like we were here for Lapis when she needed us. She's not alone, and she'll find her way through this."

Amethyst smiled, comforted by Steven's words. "Yeah, you're right. We've been through tough times before, and we'll get through this too."

"And who knows," Steven said optimistically.

"Maybe Lapis and Peridot will find their way back to each other someday. Until then, we'll support Peridot and be there for her."

Amethyst nodded, feeling a sense of hope returning. "Yeah, we'll be her rock, just like we've always been for each other."

As they sat together, Amethyst continued to think about Lapis and the situation, she couldn't help but wonder where Lapis could be.

Her thoughts drifted to the vastness of the universe and all the places Lapis might have ventured to.

"Where do you think Lapis could have gone? Their barn is still here," Amethyst asked, turning to Steven with curiosity.

"You think she's just inside the barn and not inside this base?"

Steven shrugged, equally puzzled.

"It's hard to say, Amethyst. Lapis has always been someone who likes her space, so she could be anywhere."

"Yeah, you're right," Amethyst agreed.

"Lapis needed time to heal after everything what happened, I promise Garnet I won't bug Lapis. Wherever she is, I hope she's finding peace and happiness."

Amethyst felt a sense of hope in Steven's words.

"Yeah, me too. And if she ever wants to come back, we'll be here to welcome her."

"Definitely," Steven said. "We'll always be here for her, just like we've been here for each other."

"Welp Steven, I guess is time to go back" Amethyst got up offering Steven a helping hand.

They both smiled and returned to the temple, As they arrived it was cold and empty as always.

Steven heads to his bed while Amethyst heads for the kitchen for a midnight snack.

The door suddenly squeaked open to reveal a green gem poking out from the bathroom doorframe.

Steven and Amethyst looked at Peridot's detection, Their eyes widened.

Peridot looked messy, a look of vulnerability and sadness. Her expression was a mix of worry and frustration.

She glanced nervously at Steven and Amethyst, unsure of how to approach them.

"Peridot?" Steven asked, his voice filled with surprise and concern.

Amethyst looked over to Peridot, a worried expression on her face. "Are you alright?"

Peridot hesitated before speaking.

"Y-you went to the moon base, didn't you?" Peridot questioned, her voice tense.

Steven and Amethyst exchanged glances, realizing that Peridot had somehow figured out their plan.

"Yeah, we did," Steven admitted, not wanting to hide the truth from her.

Peridot's grip tightened on the door frame, and she looked down, fighting back tears.

"I thought as much. But Lapis isn't there. She's really gone."

Amethyst stepped closer to Peridot, placing a hand on her shoulder.

"We're sorry, Peridot. We just wanted to make sure."

Peridot shook her head, her emotions overwhelming her.

"I know you meant well, but now... now I don't know what to do. I thought she'd come back."

Steven felt an ache of guilt in his chest, realizing that their actions might have deepened Peridot's pain.

"Peridot, we didn't mean to give you false hope. We were just worried about Lapis."

Peridot's visor flickered, and she wiped away a tear.

"I appreciate your concern, but it hurts even more now."

Steven hugged Peridot tightly. "We'll be here for you, Peridot. You're not alone, and we'll help you through this."

Amethyst nodded in agreement. "We'll support you no matter what."

Peridot clung to Steven and Amethyst, finding some comfort in their presence.

But the weight of Lapis' absence was still heavy on her heart, filling her with doubts and sorrow.

As the hours ticked by, Peridot rested in her tub, her mind was a storm of haunting thoughts.

The silence around her only amplified her distress, creating an atmosphere that felt suffocating.

"Do I really mean so little?" she murmured, the question echoing in the empty room.

Each memory she rethought felt like a cruel reminder of what she had lost.

The sense of belonging she had felt with Lapis were all now tainted by her absence.

Peridot's tears mingled with the water in the tub, blurring her vision as she stared at her trembling hands.

The pain in her heart seemed to weigh her down, making it hard to breathe.

"I thought we were more than just... just companions," she whispered, her voice breaking.

Her feelings of unworthiness overwhelmed her. Peridot had always struggled with a sense of inadequacy, and Lapis' departure had intensified those insecurities.

"I'm just a small, insignificant gem. Why would anyone want to stay with me?"

she questioned herself, her voice barely above a whisper.

The darkness of her thoughts seemed to eat her up, and she felt like she was spiraling further into despair.

And so, she remained in the tub, lost in the shadows of her own despair, unable to find the strength to reach out for help.

"I wish I could just disappear if I'm nothing."

Tears gently formed in her exhausted eyes as she trembled at the thought of being alive, useless, and filled with self-hatred.

She slowly felt the comfort of fantasizing about being gone, even dead.
