I have nothing to say other than I'm sorry for giving into this plot bunny. I needed a world where Rachel Berry and Bella Swan were siblings with all the chaos that came with it. I altered Bella's age by about five years to make this work. I had no idea she was so old.

For Twilight, this is canon up until the whole Edward leaves Bella in the woods thing. After that, it's so far off from canon.

For Glee, Rachel leaves midway through what was technically her freshman year and comes back her senior year. Technically. And there's nothing canon about most of this.

"So this is Lima? I expected better."

Rachel glanced at the girl buried in a too-big hoodie and bleach-stained sweats, and that's when it hit her that her sister was with her. In Lima. After ten years of video calls, letters, and short visits over the summer, they were finally together. Bella had been her biggest secret, and because of one bad year (or two or three), Rachel's personal life was about to be dissected and torn apart by the very same people she once called friends. Classmates. Rachel slowed to a stop at a light and watched a couple of McKinley football players toss the ball around outside of the gas station.

"Rachel."

"Hmm?"

"Are you okay?"

"Yeah," she said, pulling through the light. "Give Lima a chance, okay? Compared to Forks, it's a bustling metropolis."

"That's hardly a comparison."

"You're the one that wanted to come back with me, alright?" she snapped. Bella stared at her, unfazed, and Rachel winced, adding, "Sorry, I think I might be a little stressed. I really am happy that you are here."

"I know. But we both know the real reason I moved with you is-

"Because Charlie retired and moved to Portland?"

"No, I - shut up. Charlie is a grown man. He can do whatever and whoever he wants," Bella said. "Yes, I admit that it played a role, but I'm happy for him. Sure, I had no idea he was thinking of retiring until he showed up one afternoon with this look on his face and told me he's in love. He's like a hundred in Dad years, you know? How can he be in love?" Bella scoffed and folded her arms. "And yeah, as much as I want to be angry with him, I'm not. Because he deserves it. Liz is an amazing woman, and she makes him happy. And if her love convinced him to finally hang up the gun and live the life he was supposed to live, then I'm fucking estatic. And who am I to tell him he can't leave? I'm the screw up that can't even graduate on time or avoid a mental collapse because of some supernatural dick."

"There had to be a better way to say that."

"You know what I meant, and you know that I'm right. It's not fair for me to be upset when he spent an entire year of his life making sure that I didn't waste away because of a bad breakup. If Charlie wants to retire and move to another city for this woman so she can make an honest man out of him, then I'm all for it." Bella ran a hand through her hair and added, "I hated the idea of him putting his life on hold longer than he already had when happiness was right there. Twelve months could've changed so much for him, and I didn't want to risk it. Thankfully for me, my sister recovered from her mental breakdown and gave me the opening I needed, which is the real reason why I moved! You needed me just as much as I needed you."

"I did not have a mental breakdown."

"What would you call waking up one day and driving your tiny ass Prius to Washington from OHIO without telling anyone? Your Dad almost summoned the entire National Guard before Charlie called and told him you weren't dead, just in a new time zone."

"At least I didn't spend ten months in a depressive episode hoping that my sparkly, narcissistic, and misogynistic boyfriend comes back to apologize for breaking up with me and leaving me in the woods to freeze to death."

"Says the girl who spent an entire year doing her best Elizabeth Barrett Browning impression because her boyfriend said she was pretty. In the meantime, that same girl stuck her head in the sand while her so-called 'Leading Man' fucked her childhood best friend behind her back," she mocked. "Do I even need to mention how he told the entire school that you let him screw you in that dusty ass dressing room? You almost got expelled for that shit, and if it weren't for his less-than-stellar reputation compared to yours, you would have lost everything. So don't use Edward as an argument when Finn Hudson is your rebuttal."

When Rachel's lip quivered, Bella sighed and banged her head against the headrest before reaching over and grabbing one of her hands.

"Shit, Rae. I - that wasn't fair of me. I'm sorry."

"No, it wasn't," Rachel said, her voice cracking. "But you weren't wrong. I was an idiot."

"We both were. You and me, we thought we were in love. Or some twisted version of it, I guess. And we did stupid things based on emotions. But the great thing about it is that we had these experiences so we could learn from them and see that we deserve much, much better." Bella wiped away the lone tear that escaped. "I'm really sorry for what I said," she added.

"So am I. I know Edward was," she paused, "special, and I know there were extenuating circumstances."

"Do you ever talk normally? Or is this like your program default?"

"I talk just fine," Rachel muttered. "And since when do you give enlightening advice? You usually tell me to take a shot and get over it."

"It worked, didn't it?" Rachel shot her a look, and Bella shrugged. "But Sue and I spent a lot of time together, and she had some moments of wisdom. Sometimes I channel that and offer a bit more than drinking tequila and burying the emotion."

"Were these talks before or after you screwed her daughter?"

"That was crude, even for you." Bella smacked her teeth and dropped Rachel's hand. "But Leah and I never did things like that with Sue or Seth in the house. We usually did it at the house whenever Charlie worked late."

"Oh, that's romantic," Rachel scoffed.

"Nothing about our relationship was romantic," Bella pointed out. "In fact, it might be a little traumatic, now that I think about it. Yeah, definitely traumatic and concerning on so many levels."

A weird look crossed Bella's face before it was gone, and Rachel assumed it was because of how that non-relationship ended.

"If it was just sex, then why did you cry when Leah found her imprint?"

"Look, some part of me loved her, alright? But it wouldn't be true to form if one of us didn't have another heart-wrenching breakup during the healing process."

"True. My breakup with Lauren was pretty heartbreaking," Rachel said.

Bella did a full body shudder and said, "I still can't get over that. How could you willingly date and sleep with her?

"She was not that bad."

"Okay, but you're biased. You like bitchy cheerleaders."

"Do not call them that."

"Cheerleaders?"

"Bitchy."

"What? That's what they were, right?"

"They were complicated."

"So they were bitchy. Got it. There's nothing wrong with that. I mean, I can hardly talk, considering who I was attracted to before I settled for Edward."

Rachel knew better than to push that particular subject, so she said instead, "Okay, rule number one, no more relationship talk. Let's just focus on making this year good for us both. You'll get your senior year experience, finally, and I'll make peace with my demons. Deal?"

"How could I say no when you make it sound so great?" Bella grumbled.

Rachel laughed and turned onto her street. She came up to her house and saw Leroy waiting on the porch. He glanced at the car in suspicion, and Rachel forgot that she never told him her Prius was totaled in Washington. Well, technically. A wolf fell on it, and that was hard to explain. Rachel was broken from her thoughts when her sister made a weird sound.

"It just hit me that Finn was like your third choice. You want to talk about someone settling? Dude, you settled hard."

"Oh, my God. Are you serious?"

"What? It's true!"

"I should have left you in Forks."

"You've said that six times on this trip and not once have you meant it. Anyway, again, it's not like I can talk. I mean, part of me wants to see Edward again so I can tell him that I wanted his sister the entire time we were dating."

Rachel groaned and turned off the truck.

"Thank you! Do you know how many times you have referenced her this trip? I have been waiting for you to admit that for the last fifteen hours."

"I'm sorry I can't be so open about my unrequited love," Bella scoffed. "You have Santana and Quinn, your precious cheerleaders who barely know you exist, and I have Rosalie fucking Hale, vampire Goddess. Like…" Bella trailed off and sighed. "She was incredible. I saw the whole world in her eyes. And she even looked at me as if I had the power to break her heart. Guess I should've been the one worried."

Both of Rachel's eyebrows went up in surprise.

"That was the most you have ever said about her in one sitting."

Bella grunted and said, "Look, what are we telling people here? Are we going the sister route?"

"Nice subject change, and yes, that was my plan. Plus, that is the truth, you know? We are sisters."

"I just didn't know if you wanted people to know, is all."

Bella shrugged one shoulder and fiddled with her seatbelt, but before Rachel could form a response, Bella let out a soft laugh.

"You know, Charlie bought this hoodie for me when I was twelve. I'd been talking about this band for years, and he hated their music. Still, on my birthday, this came in the mail. But the site sent the wrong size, and he was so upset. I was thrilled. That was one of the many instances where he proved to be something that Hiram never was or will be. I mean, how do you get over your wife cheating on you and pretending that her lover's baby is yours? Most people wouldn't be able to. But Charlie did. Charlie is my father, Rachel. And Leroy is yours."

"Yeah, he is, and yeah, he is. Leroy did not have to stay behind to take care of some kid that was not his. But he did, and he tried so hard to be there for me even though he had to work more to support us after the divorce. But I appreciated him trying and being there for me as best as he could. That was more than I could ask for. So I get it. We are sisters in all the ways that matter, even if our birth father is a total dick."

"Did you just say dick?" Bella teased.

"You act like this is the first time you heard me curse," Rachel huffed.

"No, but every time you do, a unicorn dies."

Rachel gave her an unimpressed look.

"So much for our moment," she said flatly.

Bella kissed the top of Rachel's head and said, "We have had enough of the mushy and emotional shit, kiddo."

Rachel rolled her eyes and opened the door. But Bella grabbed her wrist and stopped her from getting out.

"Wait, wait, okay. I didn't say this earlier, but I would've come back with you whether I was in high school, college, or somewhere in between," she said. "And I'm happy to be your sister. You've saved my life more times than I can count. I think Lima's going to be a good, new start for me, and a good second chance for you."

"I know you hate hearing it, but I would not be here if it were not for you."

Bella made a face and squeezed Rachel's wrist before letting go.

"You're right. I hate hearing it, but I love you all the same." Bella unbuckled her belt and added, "Also, there better not be any vampires or shifters here."

"No, just your usual homophobia and racism."

Bella dry-heaved, and they both got out of the car. Leroy finally stepped off the porch and made his way to them. Once he was close, Leroy paused mid-stride once he saw Rachel. Even under the setting sun, there was light enough left that he could see the changes. Rachel ran a hand through her hair self-consciously and glanced at Bella, who leaned against the hood and folded her arms. Leroy cleared his throat and took the last few steps, stopping in front of her.

"I thought you weren't going to make it until tomorrow," he said.

"We were, but we got antsy being on the road. So, our Monday timeline became Sunday."

Leroy hummed and said nothing else. It'd been six months since they saw each other last, and Rachel was starting to think maybe things weren't that okay between them. But then he smiled and opened his arms. Rachel sagged in relief and fell forward.

"I thought you were still mad," she muttered.

"No, not anymore. I'm happy you're back."

"Me too."

Leroy held her tighter, and Rachel released the tension she'd been holding onto.

"You two have a good drive?" he asked, pulling back, "in a truck that is not a Prius?"

"My choices were limited," Rachel said dryly. "But the guy said the GMC Canyon was a good option for me. And Bella tried to kill me a few times, but other than that, it was a fine trip."

"Great," he said, rubbing the back of his head. "It's really big though, Rachel. Maybe we can see about getting it traded for someone smaller."

"But I really, really like it."

Rachel pouted, and Leroy sighed.

"Fine. If you like it, then I love it." Leroy then ran a hand through her hair and frowned. "A new truck and a new hairstyle? It feels like you left a little girl and came back a woman," he said.

"That sounds like an exaggeration. I just dyed my hair."

"And changed your entire wardrobe to look like you're seventeen and not seven." Leroy and Rachel turned in unison to stare at Bella, who shrugged and pushed off the car. "I'm only saying that the animal sweaters and tights were infantile and part of why no one here took you seriously," she said. "Add a few plain colored shirts and some khakis, viola, you're a functioning teenager on your way to adulthood."

"No one asked for your opinion."

"Uh, you did the moment you showed up on my doorstep depressed and wearing all white like some virginal cult bride."

"Thanks, Isabella. Truly."

"You're welcome."

"Oh, I can tell we are going to have a wonderful time together," Leroy said.

"I think so too, Mr. B."

"Didn't I tell you to call me Leroy? Come here." Bella moved closer, and Leroy gave her a one-armed hug. "I'm glad you're here," he said.

"Me too," Bella admitted before stepping back. "I'm going to start taking stuff into the house, is that alright?"

"You are living here now."

"Right, right."

Leroy gave her a strange look and said, "Your room is upstairs, the second door on the right."

"Cool. I'll see you guys inside."

"Do you need help?" Rachel asked.

"I'll be alright. These smaller boxes aren't too bad."

"Are you sure?"

"One hundred percent," Bella grunted, yanking the first box out of the car.

She walked away, and Leroy turned to Rachel.

"Is she okay?"

"Nerves."

"School?" Rachel nodded, and Leroy hummed in response. "I could've sworn she was two years older than you, though," he said.

"Did Charlie not tell you?"

"We didn't talk too much about that."

"Oh. Well, yeah, she is. But Bella dropped out her freshman year in Phoenix due to some health issues. And then some other stuff happened during her junior year, so she had to redo that year as well. This is the first time that she is on track to graduate."

Leroy glanced over his shoulder as Bella came back. She'd found her earphones and whistled along to whatever she was listening to as she made her way to the car with her head down.

"It's strange. You two look nothing alike, but I can see him in her."

Bella grabbed another box and lugged it into her arms, not once looking at Rachel or Leroy as she went back to the house.

"Genetics," Rachel said mildly.

"I didn't mean that negatively. I think you two represent the parts of him that I used to love," he said. "But I do admit that the other part of me always wonders how Charlie and I, two people who were hurt the most in this scenario, ended up being the ones who stepped up."

"Because you are good men and even better fathers," Rachel said.

"I thought so too. But then you ran away and spent two years on the other side of the country away from me."

"I was kind of hoping we left this conversation back in Washington," she muttered.

"You never said anything more than I needed a break, and Bella was having a hard time. I let it slide then, but now? No way. What the hell, Rachel?"

"Okay, look, I cannot even begin to express how sorry I am for how I handled that. I should have told you what was going on, but I thought I could take care of it on my own. But it got out of hand, and I panicked. And then Bella stopped answering my calls and texts, and Charlie was telling me how he was worried about her. So I just - I ran to something I could fix. I could fix Bella, but what was happening here? It felt out of my control. The last thing I was thinking about were the consequences."

"Exactly. Because do you know how scared I was to come home and find that note? You left in the middle of the night and drove nearly three days alone!"

"Dad -

"No, I let you talk in Washington, so now it's my turn. Look, despite how it sounds, I'm not mad. But under the anger was a lot of hurt and pain. When you left like that, it made me feel like I failed you. I wanted to know what I did wrong, and…" he trailed off. "Seeing you in Forks, seeing how hard you laughed with Charlie and Bella and seeing how easy it was for you to smile and tell them about your life put things in perspective," he finished. "And I think that's what hurts the most. That I didn't know my daughter was suffering, that she had been hurt by someone she loved, and she had to find herself thousands of miles away. From me."

Rachel turned away from him and willed herself not to cry. But it was a failed endeavor.

"Daddy, I slept with Finn," she confessed, her tears flowing freely down her face. "And he told the entire school. And the people I thought were my friends turned their backs on me. Coach Sylvester put her career on the line to keep me from being expelled, but she could not stop the school from calling me a slut and easy. I hated going into that building, but I did not want to disappoint you. You raised me to be strong and resilient, to face any battle head-on, but I was falling apart. I knew if I told you, then you would have wanted to take care of it for me, but I hated the idea of being a failure to another parent. I ran somewhere where they had no idea who I was or how broken I was because it was easier than being here and not being good enough for you."

"Hey, no, no. Never." Leroy pulled her into his arms and held the back of her head. "Baby girl, you have always been more than enough and that has not and will never change. Ever. No matter what happens, I'm going to always be on your side. Wrong, right, or a little of both, you'll have me in your corner. Of course, I would have tried to fix it. You're my daughter, and I will burn the world down for you if it even thinks of making you cry. I should've paid more attention and been there more for you. I should've seen that you were suffering."

"I did a lot to make sure you never did, Dad. That was the whole point," she murmured. "Not even Mike knew how bad it was."

"Still." Leroy pulled back a little and looked at her. "As much as it pains me to admit it, I think going to Forks was a good idea. I just wish you went about it a different way, but I can see how much good it did for you. And Charlie told me that Bella had been in a bad place and that having you there was bringing life back to her. I didn't see it until I was there that you two needed one another more than you needed either of us."

"We put each other back together. That is why I spent so much time out there. She helped me breathe again."

"I know. I can see it in your eyes," he paused and stepped away, "which I can see a lot easier now. Hold on, did you get taller?"

"I hit a late growth spurt," she said tightly. "Bella's already given me shit over it."

"Language."

"Sorry."

"I guess it's clear you're not my little girl anymore."

"Dad, I will always be your little girl."

Leroy grinned and kissed her forehead.

"Are you still mad at me?" Rachel asked.

"I think it will take a bit of time for me to trust you again," he said. "Which means that you and Bella are both grounded until the foreseeable future. Home, school, and errands, that's it until I can trust you won't run off to Miami or something."

"Yeah, that tracks. Charlie did the same. Bella and I spent more time at the house than we did at school," she chuckled. "And he even gave me a riot act."

"Was it a lot scarier coming from a cop?"

"I thought I was going to prison," she muttered.

"Of course."

"Thank you again for letting me stay out there."

"You need to thank Charlie. Had we not had that talk, I would've asked you to come home."

"Remind me to send him a housewarming gift."

"Oh, so he and Liz made it official?"

"He left a day before we did. We had to stay behind to make sure the realtor had the right paperwork and what not for the house."

"So responsible." Leroy gestured to her hair. "Now, what brought this on? You used to cry whenever I discussed cutting or altering your hair in any way," he said.

"Life-changing events usually involve hair dye." Rachel and Leroy jumped, and Bella held up her hands when they glared at her. "Sorry, I thought you heard me come out here," she said.

"It's fine. But I might put a bell on you," Leroy said.

"Does Charlie know about these archaic child-rearing techniques?"

Leroy looked at Rachel, who waved it off, and said, "Nothing she says is serious."

"Fair enough, but I need some help with the books. You bought too many."

"Most of those are yours!" Rachel argued.

"No one told you to add your collection on top."

"Go to hell."

"Been there, been back, and I have the scar to prove it," she said pointedly.

"So do I," Rachel deadpanned.

Leroy glanced between the two of them and said, "Right, well, that wasn't weird at all."

"Sorry," Rachel said. "Inside joke."

"Clearly. Now, as I have already told Rachel, you two are grounded. But you do have permission to come with me to Columbus later this week. Your rooms are a little outdated, so I put some money aside so you can renovate and what not. Consider it a punishment and a gift."

"I'm actually fully on board with that because Rachel's room looks like a pixie threw up and died in it," Bella said.

"Why were you in my room?"

"I was being nosy. Duh."

Rachel narrowed her eyes, and Leroy shook his head.

"I'm going inside to order pizza tonight while you finish unpacking. Rae, you want your usual?"

"Yes, please."

"Bella, are you okay with meat?"

"Please. Rachel's veganism was slowly killing me in Forks."

"Hey!"

"She's got a point, honey. Shopping for you is a disaster."

"Dad!"

"I'm just saying. Don't stay out here too long, girls, and holler if you need more help."

"Aye, aye, Captain," Bella said.

Leroy gave them one last look and said, "I truly am happy you both are here."

"Thanks, Dad."

"Ditto, Mr. B."

Leroy nodded and went back inside. Bella then threw her arm around Rachel's shoulder and sighed.

"You okay?"

"I will be."

"How strict is he going to be about this grounding?"

"I promise you he will forget all about it until Thursday, honestly," Rachel said, smiling. "And when that happens, I will reach out to Mike and see if he wants to get lunch or something."

"Mike's your best friend from your dance class, right?" Bella asked.

"Why do you ask questions you already know the answer to? Yes, he is also the only one outside of my father that knows you exist and that you came back with me."

"Sweet."

Bella tugged Rachel closer and looked down at her.

"You know I love you, right?"

"I know. I love you too."

"Good." Bella looked around and lowered her voice, adding, "Now put those wolf traits of yours to good use and lug these boxes into the house."

Rachel smirked a little, flecks of orange swirling in her gaze before they disappeared, and she said, "Jealousy is a good look on you."

Bella let out a mocking laugh, and Rachel walked away. Behind her back, Bella's face darkened, and she flexed her hands at her side. Her eyes turned blue before she blinked and went after her sister.
