Shuichi Akai's weakness
Shiho Miyano got married.
On her wedding day, she tied up her shoulder-length brown hair, and left a single curl in her ears, making her look charming.
A white floral tiara was pinned on her head, making her white cheeks look less pale, her eyes and teeth bright, her nose pointed and straight, and her pair of lips flushed with lipstick.
As the makeup artist helped put the necklace on her, Akai walked in.
The makeup artist saw the man in the doorway in formal attire, tall, broad-shouldered and narrow-waisted, with a poker face, but his green eyes shining.
"Hey, who is it?" The makeup artist asked Shiho Miyano softly.
Shiho took a quick glance at Akai before curling her mouth, "Didn't my father pass away?. He's my cousin, and he's the one who will escort me to the altar in my father's place."
"Oh."
The makeup artist received a phone call and said that there was something urgent at the studio, but Shiho Miyano's veil hadn't yet been attached, and the makeup artist ran to Akai.
"Hey, bring her the veil, I have something to do first."
"Okay."
White.
Transparent.
Luminous.
Pure.
The veil gently enveloped her hair, as she stood up, he couldn't see her expression, only her small head spinning.
The hand that had touched the gun many times gently pinned the veil to her hair this time.
There was a moment of silence
Ran Mouri came and said the time has come, Shiho Miyano stood up.
It was at that moment that Akai could clearly see her expression, her gaze seemed indifferent in all the things she did for him, Akai could clearly see the tears in her eyes at that moment.
Under the veil, she pursed her lips gently.
Stepping outside, she took his arm, stepped on the red carpet, and walked slowly through the crowd.
"Shuichi Akai." She called out to him softly.
"Hmm?"
"It's not too late if you say it now."
Akai paused, "Say what?"
"That you love me."
Then her voice came again.
"If you tell me, I will run away from this marriage."
He opened his mouth slightly but said nothing, silent with no desire to speak.
Shiho Miyano's gaze remained fixed ahead, "Just ten steps left."
One step, two steps, they took the same steps, getting closer and closer to the groom, but Akai did not say a word until the end, his green eyes staring straight ahead.
"You have five seconds left." She reminded, her tone light.
He still didn't get the words out.
It was finally time to approach the groom.
Shiho Miyano huffed and smiled softly, "It seems like you have nothing to say to me."
Akai did not look at her, as if the conversation had never happened.
He simply grasped her hand gently and slowly raised it to the groom's before saying.
"Treat her well or I'll shoot your head off."
The groom smiled and grasped her hand tightly.
Then they hugged, kissed, and exchanged vows.
And he was just an outsider.
Akai woke up with a shock, then sat up sweating profusely. He turned his head and found Shiho sleeping peacefully beside him.
Her serene sleeping face was nearby, she belongs to him.
He propped up his forehead and let out a soft laugh before wrapping his arms gently around her.
But he couldn't go back to sleep.
The movement just now had woken the always soundly sleeping Shiho, and she asked, "Why are you awake?"
"I'm scared."
Akai said as he wrapped his arms around her and hugged her tighter.
Shiho was silent, she had never heard Akai say those words before.
When he was almost recognized by a member of the organization.
When he was shot in the lungs by Reina Mizunashi.
When he picked up a sniper rifle and faced the enemy.
When he lost too much blood and almost died on a mission.
He didn't even say that he was scared.
Akai approached her, and she patted his head, "What's wrong?"
"A nightmare."
"What did you dream that you looked so scared?"
"I dreamed that you got married."
She froze.
"With someone else, and it's not me." His voice was muffled, buried in her shoulder.
A strong man would be fragile because of the seven emotions he was born with.
Since he loved her, that was his weakness.
No matter how he pretended to be tough, she was always able to make him into chaos, and defeat.
He's not scared of anything.
He's just scared of being an outsider in her life.
