After checking out of the hotel and getting on the X-men's plane it didn't take long to reach our destination. I don't know if any of you have ever seen a mansion with your own eyes, I hadn't, but this mansion was huge. I knew that Charles owned a mansion and like all mansions they were large, but this place was bordering on being a castle. Making my thoughts clear as we came in, I said,

"Woah, this place is huge."

"Yes, it is, isn't it," Charles said in pride, "It has been in my family for ten generations. I didn't want such a large place to be a home for only me, so I turned my family home into a school."

"Interesting, I personally wouldn't. You clearly have the money to build a school for mutants in a more secluded and safe space than right next to city," I replied with a shrug.

"Salem is a small city, and they don't mind the children." Charles responded.

"Doesn't make it anymore safe. But I assume we aren't here to talk about the school's location."

"You would assume correctly, come follow me." Charles said as we got of the plane. Where we had landed was kind of like in the movies, being an underground room right below an outdoor basket-ball court.

Following behind him, I examined the shiny halls of the mansions basement that would make you think you were in a hospital or something if you didn't know beforehand where you were. I couldn't get lost with how my new memory functioned but, even so this place was huge, and I was only in the basement. Eventually we made it into an elevator, upon entering it quickly went up to the fourth floor. The fourth floor looked at lot like what was seen in the movies, wooden floors and banisters, with nice decoration sprucing up the place like potted plants and paintings.

Still following Charles, it didn't take long for us to come up to a room I assumed was his office. There were photos of a younger Charles with a blue skinned girl and many others. I sat as he continued around a large wooden desk before turning to look at me.

"Magneto and his group of followers, he calls The Brotherhood of Mutants," Charles began with a sigh…

"I know of them," I stepped in, "Or of them rather. I don't know everything about them, but I do pay attention to the news."

"Yes, well The Brotherhood of Mutants is a group dedicated to the cause of mutant superiority over humans. Lately they have getting even more aggressive, even going out of their way to target the X-men when out on missions." Charles explained.

"Have you investigated why? From what I can tell this isn't common for them."

"You're right this isn't common for them. We have had engagements with them in the past, but that was only if we ran into each other. Their leader Magneto wears a helmet that prevents telepaths from looking into his mind and no one in his Brotherhood sees anything wrong with this new course he has started taking. If anything has changed with Magneto, then his followers don't know about it."

"So why bring me into this? I don't mind helping but surely you have a reason for seeking me out." I asked.

"You aren't a mutant if that is what you're wondering. I don't know where you get your powers but when you showed up fighting those green monsters, Logan pointed you out. I was curious so I used cerebro, a device that lets me see humans and their auras, to check and see if you were a mutant."

"What did you see if I'm not a mutant?"

"If you were a mutant, you would be among the most powerful, what we call omega class, seeing such strength and how you went out of your way to stop those monsters I decided to see if you would help us." He responded.

"I see, well like I said I don't mind helping out, but I will need some clothes that can stand up my abilities usage."

"If we are done here, I'll have Dr. McCoy come get you to work on a suit."

"Alright, do you have anything else do you need?" I asked.

"I don't believe so," He laughed, "Give him a minute to get here."

It didn't take long before me and Dr. McCoy, a.k.a. Beast, were sitting in what was a pretty high-tech lab. He had asked me what I would like out of a suit and the extent of my abilities to see what the suit would need to stand up to them. I told him that I wasn't looking for protection, I just needed a suit that was basically indestructible. I also drew for him what I would like the suit to look like, Homelanders suit of course.

We were now sitting around, or at least I was, while the suit was being made. Trying to make conversation I asked,

"What do you think about this Magneto guy?"

"The Professor and I, we knew him when we were younger. Back when the school was only an idea, not fully realized… He wasn't bad back then. A little hot headed at times, and stubborn but not this." Dr. McCoy responded in melancholy.

"What happened?"

"Charles was crippled. Magneto blamed himself as much as he blamed humans, if he hadn't been shot at, he wouldn't have redirected the bullet that hit Charles in the spine."

"I see. I have a question, why haven't you fixed Charles spine?"

"What do you mean? We can't there's no way to heal the damage." Dr. McCoy responded in growing anger.

"I'm not saying regrow his spine, just replace the damaged vertebrae with something mechanical." I replied, looking at him like he was stupid.

"That could work, I would have to ask the Professor to see if he would go for it."

"I think he would, plus if what you're saying is true then what would happen is Magneto saw Charles walking around?"

"Give me a second, I'm going to call him down here." Dr. McCoy said as he ran off in what I could only assume was growing anticipation.

I wondered why they hadn't thought to try that as I knew in the comics Charles had gotten his ability to walk back multiple times in various ways. Maybe by the time they had technology that would let them they were all so used to his lack of walking.

It didn't take long for both Dr. McCoy and Charles to show up in the lab, with Dr. McCoy practically jumping in joy.

"Professor, John gave me an idea and with you blessing I think we should do it." Dr. McCoy told Charles.

"And what pray tell is this idea you gave him Mr. Gillman?" Charles asked.

"One, please don't call me Gillman, John is fine. Two, I thought you could regain your ability to walk by having your damaged vertebrae with something mechanical, like a cybernetic implant."

"I see, and why do you think this is a good idea?"

"Well, there's no hard in trying and if Magneto sees you walking around it may cause him to stop and think about what he is doing." I replied.

"Yes Professor, why don't we just give it a try? If everything goes well, you'll be able to walk again, and there's no downside." Dr. McCoy added on.

"While I don't mind the idea of being able to walk again, the idea that seeing me on my feet may impact Eric has a lot of merit." Charles said while in deep thought.

After a few second pause he finally responded,

"Let's go ahead and give it a try."

"Just know that you probably won't be walking around for at least a few months, I can see how badly your legs have atrophied." I said, mainly to keep Dr. McCoy from getting too excited.

"Yes, it will take a lot of physical therapy before you can walk again." Dr. McCoy said as he started to calm down.

"I understand that, Thank you Hank, and your as well John." Charles said with a soft smile.

Looking at one of the computers near me I saw that it was already six in the morning, I decided to ask Charles for some help with a situation I was in, so I turned to him and said,

"Charles, I lost everything in the fight with Abomination. Could you possible help me out? I don't need money as I have procured quite a bit, but if you could help me get a new birth certificate, credit cards, and everything else like drivers license and washing some money I snatched from drug dealers that would be great."

"Yes, I can help you with all of that, for now you can stay here in the school while I contact people who can help you out." Charles responded with a smile before saying, "Where is the money you need washed?"

"It's in my duffle, that's in your office." I responded before asking, "What room will I be staying in?"

"I'll show you to it on my way back to my office."

"Thank you, Charles," I said before turning to Dr. McCoy and saying, "While you're making my suit could you also make me a phone that can stand up to everything I'll be doing as well? It would be awesome if I didn't have to pay phone bills as well." I laughed before following Charles out of the room.

On my way-out Dr. McCoy called after me,

"Don't worry about the phone I'll take care of it."

Well, that's another chapter. I hope those of you who are reading this enjoyed it, if you have any suggestion share them.

Time for another rant, not story important so you can move on if you want. I was reading a new FF today when the author did something I found completely stupid, so stupid in fact I couldn't keep reading the fic. I forget the name of the story, but it was a Spiderman SI-OC where the main character became Peter right before Avengers: Civil War. The MC was going to go to the Sorcerer Supreme to see if he could help change the future for better, as he was swinging his was to 177A Bleecker when Peter Parker takes control of the body and says some dumb shit like you will stay away from her.

First, that is the dumbest of all ways possible to ensure your MC stays away from her and second, why would the MC listen? I know I wouldn't, how bout you?
