Crash Bandicoot: Welcome to Amphibia
Ch. 3: The Bane of the Cane
Anne and Sprig are once again in the basement, as Anne is showing her stuff to Sprig to give him a taste of what her world is to him.
"Wow, Anne! Look at all your cool stuff from your world! He grabbed her toenail clippers. What's this? It gonna be a torture device of some kind."
Anne tells him what it really is, "That's a toenail clipper, Sprig."
"Oh, ok, ok sure it is." Sprig said, still thinking that it is a device designed to inflict pain. Next, he gets her bicycle pump. "But, what does this do?" He placed his mouth on the pump's hose and pumped it to put air in his mouth. "It's painful!" He removed his mouth off the pump and exhaled the pump which caused him to fly for a while. Once deflated, the last thing he picked up was Anne's click pen. "Oh, and this…" He pressed the pen button several times. "I love this! Completely amazing!"
Anne was slightly creeped out at seeing Spring pressing her pen, so she said to him, "You know what you can keep it."
A bell rang in the kitchen, and Hop Pop said, "Kids, chow time!"
Anne and Sprig hurried upstairs to eat breakfast.
In the center of Wartwood, A portal appeared on top of the town's statue. Crash came out of it and landed on top of the statue. A buzzing was heard in his pocket, so he checked and got a pink device. The monitor turns on and shows Coco on it.
"Crash, while I haven't found where the next crystal is, you should still check up on Anne and the Planters at their home. Sorry I can't join you this time, but you should be fine without me. Just remember to give Anne this scanner once you get there. Aku Aku went ahead to place his crates around Wartwood, so don't forget to smash them for protection." Coco said with Crash giving a thumbs up to say that he got it.
The monitor faded to black afterwards. Crash put the scanner back in his pocket and jumped off the statue and landed on the ground. He looks around to remember which way to The Planter Family House and sees some frog kids playing, unknowing that they are about to run towards a TNT crate. He dashed quickly toward them and blocked their path.
"Hey, why did you get in our way, Mister?" One of the frog kids said to him.
Crash picked up the TNT crate and wiggled his finger to tell them not to get near it. Afterwards, he tossed it away with a spin throw.
"Weirdo." The other frog kid said. They head off to play again.
Crash ignored what he said and headed towards the Planters house.
At the Planter home, Anne, Sprig and Polly are at the kitchen table losing patience on Hop Pop getting their food.
"Time to eat, time to eat!" They chanted.
"Hold on, you three, hold on." Hop Pop said.
He then served them something that Anne didn't want to eat, so she said, "You know what, HP, I'll pass this meal."
"Why? Is my food not good enough for the princess?" He said while being slightly annoyed being called HP.
"Well, if I'm the princess, then you're the… king of bad cooking." Anne said, mocking him.
"Oooh!" Both Sprig and Polly said.
After hearing Sprig and Polly's reaction, Anne decided to keep roasting him for fun. It was too good to stop now, "In fact, you probably won the award for the worst cook ever."
"Ahhh!" Polly shouted.
"Oh, she got you again!" Sprig said.
"Oh yeah? Well, you… I… uh…." Hop Pop said, trying for a comeback.
"What the matter, Hop Pop? Frog in your throat." Anne said, taking advantage of Hop Pop failing in getting her back.
"Three for three!" Sprig said with Polly shouting again.
"Oh, frog dang it!" Hop Pop said, throwing his spoon on the table. "You know what, I'm gonna take a nap." Hop Pop heads to his bedroom. "I can't believe this. I feed you, I house you, and this is how you repaid me? If you don't shape up soon, Anne, I'm throwing you out!" Hop Pop slammed the door close, and a vase nearby fell over.
"Yeesh, what's his problem?" Anne grabbed her hair and started to imitate Hop Pop. "I'm Hop Pop and I have terrible cooking skills and have a temper problem!"
"That is so Hop Pop!" Sprig said.
"Back in my day, we wouldn't complain to our superiors about everything and just do as we are told!" Anne said, continuing her imitation of Hop Pop.
"Hahaha!" Polly said, laughing out loud.
Anne grabbed one of Hop Pop's canes from his cane rack and continued to imitate him. She even starts to hunched over like an old man to impersonate him even more.
"Eat your aphids, don't play with them. Elbows off the table!" She said. Sprig and Polly continued laughing. "Sometimes I wonder why I even bother putting up with you at all!" While saying this, Anne walked to the table and hit the cane she was holding with it which caused it to snap in two. The cane's top half landed on the table. Sprig and Polly's joyful laughter quickly changed to gasps of horror when they saw what Anne had done.
"Oopsies, guess I don't know my own strength." Anne told them while looking at what she did to the cane.
A knock was heard from the front door. Anne placed the cane bottom half on the table and went to open the door while Sprig and Polly continued looking at the cane with their mouth still fully open. Anne opens the door and sees Crash standing outside.
"Crash! What an unexpected surprise of you being here by yourself!" Anne said to him. Crash notices the splitted cane on the table and Sprig and Polly who still have their mouths open. Anne tells Crash, "If you want to know what's up with Sprig and Polly, well, I was impersonating Hop Pop for fun, but I went a bit too far and broke one of Hop Pop's canes. But don't worry about it. I'm sure it's nothing to worry about." Just then, the TNT crate that Crash tossed away flew in through the window and dropped near the broken cane. When it landed on the table, It started its countdown. "3…2…1…boom!" The crate exploded and the cane was blown into pieces. Crash pupils shrunk after seeing the crate he chucked came here.
"That something I didn't see coming, right guys?" Anne said to Sprig and Polly who are having their mouths open even wider and their pupils turned into frog skulls. "Come on, guys. You're both overreacting. It's just one cane."
"That wasn't just any cane." Sprig points to the portrait of Hop Pop with the cane that was destroyed. "It was Hop Pop's special cane, passed from his father, Hop Poppity Pop, all the way down from his father, Hop-and-Lock-Drop Soppity Pop."
Anne gasped in fear after seeing how special that cane was. "You guys gotta help me! If he sees what happened to his cane, he's gonna kick me out without a second thought and I have to go back to living in a cave and I don't want to sleep in one again!" Anne thought about how she handled being in a cave via a flashback. It was terrible for her due to the rain, dampness, and wild creatures living in it. "Ugh, the nights were the hardest."
"Don't worry, Anne! We'll do whatever it takes to help you!" Sprig said to her.
"You two can help her, I'm staying out of this." Polly said to them.
"Polly!" He said, astonished at her sister for not wanting to help.
"What? I hardly know her! She told him.
"Would you help me with one of these?" Anne said, pulling out a candy bar from her pocket.
Polly gasped and said, "Candy from another world?! Lady, you got yourself a deal."
"Glad to hear it." Anne said. She turns to talk to Crash, "Crash, I know you just came here, but can you also help me out of this jam?" Anne asked him, with Crash nervously nodding yes, knowing that he needed to help her given that he was the one who brought the TNT crate here in the first place.
"Thanks. Now let's try to save my skin!" Anne said. She looked at the blown up cane and started to scratch the back of her head. "Well, there is no way we can fix it like this, but maybe someone else can pull it off? Someone good with…wood?
"Anne, you're a genius! We'll take it to Leopold Loggle, the woodsmith. He loves wood, almost a little too much." Sprig uses his tongue to zip near the front door. He opened and said, "Since when did we get a crate delivered to our home?"
Anne looked through the front door and saw a crate that had Aku Aku on it. She then looked at Crash, "Isn't that the floating mask that follows you around everywhere?"
Crash sees the crate and spins and destroys it immediately. "Booda-ma-guh! Bum, da, bum!" Aku Aku appeared from the crate.
"Crash, seems like you need some help again." Aku Aku said to him.
"Excuse me, what is going on?" Anne said, wanting to know why Aku Aku was in that crate.
"Perhaps an explanation is needed." Aku Aku said as he was about to do his introduction to Anne, Sprig, and Polly. "I, the wise Aku Aku, have the duty to protect the one who summons me. I can be summoned by breaking a crate like one you three saw Crash broke just now. When I am called thrice, I shall grant the user special powers."
"Special powers? Is he talking about invincibility or something similar?" Sprig said to Crash who nodded and mumbled to him yes.
"Protection, huh? That would be useful to help take out my enemies!" Polly said with her laughing maniacally, but stopped suddenly when everyone was looking at her with their eyebrows raised.
"Now that we know about your abilities, let's head to Loggle so I won't have to go back to living in a cave!" Anne said as she, Sprig, and Polly head off.
"What does she mean by that, Crash?" Aku Aku asked with Crash retraced to tell about the frog kids, the TNT crate, the cane that Anne broke, how the crate ended up at the Planter Family Home, and blowing Hop Pop's broken cane to bits. "So that's what this is all about. Well, we better help and get her out of this mess." Crash and Aku Aku ran to catch up to them.
They all went to Loggle's shop. Anne gave him the cane pieces she carried with her in her backpack. He examined the pieces using his goggles.
"Who knew this town has an axolotl living here!: Aku Aku said with Crash surprised to see one as well.
"So. can you fix it?" Anne asked.
As Loggie stopped checking the cane pieces, he said to them all, "As a matter of fact, I can…not."
"Huh, can you make a new one?" Sprig said.
"Absolutely…no way." Loggle said doing the delay sentence again, annoying everyone.
"Do you have one we can buy?" Polly said
"Of course I do…n't. I don't." He said to them.
"Isn't there a way to replicate this?" Aku Aku said.
Loggle said, "That's use…less. It's useless to make a duplicate." This caused Crash to slap his head with his hand.
"Why do you keep doing that?" Anne shouted.
"Old smithing accident. You don't want to know what happened." He said.
"But, you're gonna tell us anyway, right?" Anne asked with Loggle telling them about his mishap.
"Tripped on an anvil and landed neck first on a pipe. Pierced my voice box clean though." He showed his neck revealing it was punctured. In turn, this caused them to get disgusted by this with the exception of Sprig and Crash. "Switch over the wood after that. Anyhow, I'm afraid I can't do much for this cane as it was made from wood from the incredibly rare, extremely dangerous…Doom Tree!" Loggle showed and opened a book ironically called Incredibly Rare Extremely Dangerous Trees. He flipped to the page showing the tree he said earlier. They all gasped looking at the tree in the book. "Few have made it to the Doom Tree alive, and even fewer returned. It holds many secrets that mortals dare not…" Crash cleared his throat, interrupting Loggle.
"What Crash is trying to say is that it's no problem getting some wood from this tree." Aku Aku said.
"Really? This tree isn't called dangerous for nothing!" Loggle said.
"Dude, it's just a tree. Just tell us where it is." Anne said.
Sprig added, "Yeah, cut the chit-chat, Loggle!"
"You're bald!" Polly said.
"Okay, okay." Loogle said as he turned more pages to show a map. "I have a map to The Doom Tree right here, but it will cost ya."
"Click!" Anne said using her phone to take a picture of the map. She then showed it to Loogle.
"Or you could do that, for free." He said.
Anne said to him, "Well, it would have been me or Coco, if she was here. Now come on guys, we have to hurry! Hop Pop could wake up at any second!"
"Right!" Sprig and Polly said in unison. The trio dashed to the door.
Loggle gave one last warning to them, "Be careful, you kids! It's cursed I tell you, cursed!"
"To the Doom Tree, everyone!" Anne said as they ran off.
Instead of following, Crash was thinking after hearing Anne say her sister's name and her using her phone. Coco told him to give Anne something important, but he forgot what it was.
"What is it, Crash?" Aku Aku said with Crash still trying to remember.
He stopped when Sprig came back, seeing Loggle's wooden statue of himself and said, "Whoa, Loggle! We gotta talk about this man. We're coming back. We're gonna talk about this. Alright good-bye!"
Both Crash and Aku Aku looked at the statue to see what caused Sprig to get interested. Not seeing anything special about it, Crash just shrugged at Aku Aku then they both went to where the trio was heading. All of them walked out of wartwood and past Death Ridge until they stopped at a lake. But as they stopped they saw a platform with a question mark on top.
"What is this platform, better yet, why does it have a question mark? Anne said.
"Crash and I know about this, but I think it will be better to show you rather than tell. Crash, you know what to do." Aku Aku said with Crash nodding back.
He jumped on and the platform started to float.
"It's moving! But, where are you two going?" Sprig said to them
"It's fine. We're just headed to a place where there are more crates. Keep going on without us! We'll catch up later.' Aku Aku told them.
"Ok, just remember to head to this tree on this map." Anne said as she showed the map on her phone.
Don't die up there! We won't save you! Polly said/
Crash and Aku Aku fly up to the treetops and see crates straight ahead. They went to destroy them all. Back down on the ground, The trio head forward with Anne going around the lake while Sprig and Polly go forward swimming in the lake. They continued forward through the swamp until Anne stopped in front of them.
"Hold up." Anne said she took out her phone to see the map. "We're here." She moved her phone out of the way knowing that this is the tree they are looking for. "That tree is probably the ugliest thing I've ever seen."
"Just one of Mother Nature's horrible mistakes!" Sprig said.
The trio walk closer to get a branch for a replacement cane. As they walk, Polly sees a frog's skull and laughs slightly. "Frogs died here." She said.
"Look!" Anne said, pointing at one of the tree's branches. "That branch is perfect!" She and Sprig started climbing the doom tree while Polly was forced to wait on the ground, so she decided to make a small joke about it.
"Pssh, you people and your legs." Polly said.
Anne tried to pull the branch, but wasn't strong enough on her own. Sprig hopped up and spit on his hand, getting ready to help pull the branch.
"Careful, the tree is cursed." Anne said about Loogle's warning in a joke. She and Sprig laughed afterwards. But seriously, on three. 1…2…"
Back at the other side of the lake, Crash finished getting all crates in the treetops and is using a different platform to descend down to the over side of the lake.
"Well, that's done. Let go and find the others, Crash." Aku Aku said with Crash agreeing. Then, a screech was heard from the direction where the doom tree is. Some dragonflies flew away from the trees. "What was that? Let's go check it out!"
Both of them walk forward until they see Anne, Sprig, and Polly on the ground.
"There you three are! Did you have any luck finding that tree?" Aku Aku said.
All three point forward at the doom tree which is moving and turning into a giant stick tree bug. It then roared at them all while spitting orange saliva at them. Crash was scratching his head at what it was.
Sprig licked it and said, "Hey, this stuff is maple!"
"Run!" Anne said with her, Sprig and Polly running like mad.
The tree bug looked at Crash and roared again. This caused him to be in fear for a second before running off with the tree giving chase with Aku Aku following behind. While running off, crates are seen in Crash's direction. He wasn't able to smash them all, but the tree bug's sharp pincers, not only missed hitting Crash every time, but also destroyed the ones he passed though. They both hid behind a tree. Crash checks and sees if the bug was still looking for them as well as Anne, Sprig and Polly.
"Psst, over here!" Crash and Aku Aku looked to see that Anne was the one who whispered that. She is hiding behind a log with Sprig and Polly.
"That thing supposed to be a tree?" Polly said.
"It's definitely not a tree, it's some sort of grody bug!" Anne said.
"A bug that wants to kill us!" Sprig said.
As the tree bug continued to look for them, several bugs came out of a hole in the log and started to walk all over Anne's face. She started to get grossed out and was about to scream. Crash waved his hands to tell her not to, but…
"AHHHHHHHHH!" Anne screamed anyway, which caused the tree bug to notice them.
Anne, Sprig and Polly dashed ahead while Crash ran with the tree bug following him again. He saw another Aku Aku and smashed it, turning Aku Aku's appearance into a shimmering gold.
Back at Loggle's shop, he was closing for the day. He sighed and said, "Another day, another step closer to bankruptcy?" Anne, Sprig, and Polly barged in Loggle's shop and accidentally dragged him inside. "What the… What's going on?!"
"Don't ask questions!" Anne said. She opened the door and saw that the tree bug was still chasing Crash and Aku Aku. "What's it gonna take to get rid of this thing?" Anne looks around the shop for a weapon and spots the shelf full of carved goods. She grabbed a wooden clock and said, "Oh, this is nice!" She looked at the tree bug again.
Crash keeps dodging the bugs' pincers but he is starting to get tired. Just before the bug reached him with its pincers, Loggle's wooden clock flew towards the bug's head and was smashed.
"Hey, over here you oversized toothpick!" Anne said as she was the one who threw that clock. This drew the bug attention to her as well as Sprig who is holding sandpaper and Polly who is using wooden legs and arms. "We're the one who took your branch! So, come and get us!"
Loggle popped his head out of a chest he was hiding and said, "That clock you just threw took twenty years to carve."
Polly shouted a war cry and walked awkwardly towards the bug. She tried to kick and punch, but it was weird to pull off using the wooden limbs. The wooden leg flew off of Polly and was grabbed by Anne.
"Charge!" Anne shouted with Sprig joining in.
Anne went straight at it using a wooden leg to attack the bug, while Sprig decided to take the high route and start to use the sandpaper on the bug's head.
"I'm gonna sand your face real good!" Sprig said while using the sandpaper.
Crash looked and was surprised that the trio was able to hold the bug off this long. He saw another Aku Aku crate behind the bug, so he slided under it and was able to smash the crate. "Booda-ma-guh! Bum, da, bum!" With three crates destroyed, Aku Aku attached himself to Crash's face and he jumped up in the air which caught everyone's attention.
"Guys, am I hearing beating drums and chanting or is it just me?' Anne asked them.
"You're not the only one hearing that, Anne. We can hear it too." Sprig said while the bug roared at him which caused him to sand it again to keep it from attacking him.
Crash, who is now invincible for a short time, ran towards the bug and hit him directly. The bug back off slightly after the hit. Sprig managed to hold on to the bug's head.
Anne looked back in the shop and saw a jar of termites on the ground.
"Termites!" Anne said while picking up the jar. "Why would a woodsmith have termites?"
"I'm a complicated man!" Loggle said, popping out of the chest again.
She opened the jar and shouted while throwing it, "Incoming!"
Sprig heard this and used his tongue to get out of the way while Crash jumped over the bug and slide it's leg to knock it off balance and keep it from running from the jar. The jar smashed on top of the bug and the termites ate its woody exoskeleton revealing its green skin and huge red eyes. It just blinked at seeing what happened to itself.
"Uh…" Polly said.
"Cool!" Sprig said.
Anne sees this as another crazy thing about Amphibia and said, "This world is messed up."
The bug murmured to itself as it walked off back to the forest. The invincibility for Crash has ended and Aku Aku reverted back all the way to his normal state.
"Up top!" Anne said, while giving Sprig a high five.
"We did it!" Sprig said.
"That was awesome, you guys." Polly said.
Crash cheered at the bug's defeat.
Anne gets the tree cane out of her pocket, "Now, let's get this cane back to Hop Pop."
Loggle came out of the chest and swiped the cane from Anne while saying, "Give me that!"
"Hey, what gives, Loggle!" All three of them said.
Loggle told them, I'll tell you what gives. This doesn't even begin to cover the stuff that you "borrowed" to stop that bug! You're gonna have to give me something else. Come on, pony up."
Sprig sighed while getting Anne's click pen from his pocket, "Will this work?"
Loggle took the pen and said, "Wha, What is this…" Sprig demonstrates what the pen is by clicking its button rapidly. Amused, Loggle starts to click it quickly himself. "I like this. You can go."
They all went outside, which changed to evening.
"Sorry, Anne. After all we worked for too, we got nothing to keep you from getting kicked out." Sprig said to her.
Crash looked at Anne with a sad expression after all that happened.
"It's ok, you guys. We better head home. Hop Pop's probably already awake and furious."Anne said.
"Probably a bad time to bring this up, but I still get the candy right?" Polly said.
With all three heading back to the Planter family home in disappointment, Aku Aku said to Crash, "Crash, we should tell them about how that TNT appeared suddenly." Crash nodded in agreement and hurried to catch up with them.
Nightfall came as Anne and the others made it back to the Planter home and came in through the front door.
"We're back. Hope you guys are ready to get scolded." Anne said, looking down.
"Anne, look what is in front of us!" Sprig said while pointing forward.
She looked as see a transparent crate floating above them.
"A hovering ghost crate with numbers on it?" She said.
Aku Aku said, It's a box tally, and since all crates have been broken… The transparent crate shines away and in its place is a gem.
"So that's where those gems you get come from. Meaning the gem Coco found in the lake must have that box tally under the water." Anne said as Crash gets the gem.
Afterwards, Hop Pop came out of his room. "Whoa boy, after this morning, I needed that nap. Hope nothing happened while I was snoozing to get me mad again." He then sees Anne, Sprig, and Polly who are still beaten up from their fight. He knew something must have happened while he was sleeping. "Oh no, what did you three do?"
"What's up with canes? Who even needs them these days, amiright?" Sprig said who was trying to take suspension off of them, but Polly punched him, telling him to get his arm off her head.
Anne sighed. "I'm really sorry, Hop Pop. I was goofing around and broke your favorite cane." She took out the cane pieces from her backpack.
"You WHAT?!" Hop Pop screamed while looking at the cane bits.
Anne added, "As for why it's in bits, a red crate came from the window and blew it up. I have no idea where it came from."
Crash mumbled and caught everyone's attention.
"Crash is trying to say that he was the one who threw that TNT crate." Aku Aku said. Anne couldn't believe what she was hearing right now. How couldn't this be even possible? "When he made it to the town, he saw a couple of frog kids playing and not knowing about the crate. He kept them from hitting it and tossed it away. He didn't know it was going to head to your house, so don't blame him for your cane troubles."
"Well, now that you know the whole story, I'll show myself out." Anne said.
Anne walks towards the front door, but stops to see Sprig and Polly saying their final goodbyes to her.
"We'll promise to visit you, Anne!" Sprig said while teary eyed.
"And just when I started to like you!" Polly said.
Anne said to her while starting to cry, "Don't make this harder than it is, Polly!"
Crash started to shed some tears as he saw all 3 of them mopping.
Hop Pop, confused, said, "What the, what going on?"
"You're throwing me out. You know like you said you would." Anne said to him.
"I don't even think he was literally going to toss you out in the first place." Aku Aku said after hearing what Hop Pop said.
"The mask is right, Anne. I was never going to throw you out. I just said that to talk tough so that you would show me a little more respect." Hop Pop said.
"That kinda messed up, man." Anne said.
Hop Pop chuckled and said, "Yeah, I was probably a bit too harsh on ya. But, I only did it because you remind me of myself when I was your age, rough around the edges. Now, put that bag down, young lady! You're not going anywhere!"
Sprig and Polly were cheering that Anne is able to stay while Crash was cheering as well seeing that thing turned out fine for her.
"Thanks, Hop Pop." Anne said to him. "So… what about your cane? Are you mad that it's blown to pieces or…"
"Oh, I'm not mad about the cane." Hop Pop said calmly with Anne thinking she's off the hook until he changed his tone at her. "I'm furious about it! You're on dish duty for a month!"
Anne was slightly scared at this, but said while saluting. "Yes sir!" She put down backpack after saying this.
"Now that that's settled, I wrote a long list of comebacks to get you back for this morning." He showed a written piece of paper to them. He started to read his comebacks after clearing his throat. "Hey Anne, is that your hair or a dandelion? Ha! Oh, are those long lanky limbs or are those twigs?" There was no reaction for Anne, Sprig or Polly over the jokes Hop Pop said. Sprig just coughed after a while. "The moment has passed, hasn't it?"
"Yes." Aku Aku said with Crash nodding yes at him.
Crash's pocket buzzed again and a voice screamed, "Crash! What are you doing over there?!" Crash got the scanner from his pocket and saw Coco who was giving him an angry look at him. "You're supposed to give Anne the scanner! Don't tell me you forgot!" Crash looked at her nervously, knowing he forgot to give Anne the device. Anne swiped it from Crash while looking at him peeved.
"Sorry about that, Coco. We had some problems with a cane, but we're good now." Anne said. "If only your brother told me about this sooner…"
Coco said, "Well, my big brother is forgetful sometimes, so I shouldn't put the full blame on him. Now, place the scanner above your phone." Anne did what Coco said and the device scanned the phone. The device screen faded to black as its power was transferred to the phone. Anne's phone then showed Coco on it.
"It's done!" Coco said. "Now I can talk to you via your phone now. Now only that, it now acts like a beacon, a beacon from which I can use to make portals around town at precise points a lot easier, including the phone's direct location."
"That will surely come in handy from getting around!" Sprig said.
"But, why do you need my phone to help with you two porting here?" Anne asked.
Coco said to her, "Teleporting in the right area is a bit inconsistent due to some interference since Crash ended up in the town square instead of the Planter's house so using your phone as a beacon, I can constantly create portals in Wartwood without any drawback."
"Sure, you could." Anne said, not sure if she believed what Coco said to her.
"Anyway, since Crash is done checking up on you guys, I'll just bring him back home. Coco said as she typed on her computer and a portal appeared near the front door.
"Time to head back, Crash." Aku Aku said as Crash waved goodbye as they both went in and back home.
After they left, Polly said to Anne, "Hey, what about the candy you promised me?! I still want to eat it!" Anne just nodded as she still couldn't believe that Polly still wanted her candy bar after telling the truth to Hop Pop.
