Anthony, Uther and Arthur ran down the hallway towards Gaius room. The other two kings stayed behind to make sure they covered the crown room in case anyone wanted to report anything.

Arthur was faster than both his father and Anthony, and was the first one to kick the door open to Gaius room. He stopped when he saw Elena lying on the table with a dagger sticking out of her upper chest. She cried out as Gaius and some guards were trying to help her. Henry stood beside them, frozen to his spot.

Anthony stumbled in and pushed Arthur to the side before running up to his daughter.

''What happened?! What happened!'' he roared as he looked at his daughter.

''Take him away, I need space,'' Gaius demanded and the guards hesitated before trying to grab the king.

''Don't touch me! Where were you?! Where were you!'' he continued to yell and turned towards Henry as Uther tried to calm him down.

In all the yelling, Arthur dared to walk up to Elena as his heart started to beat faster.

''We need to pull it out, hold her down,'' Gaius said and two guards took each of her legs and another ran to her right arm. Gaius then turned towards Arthur.

''Arthur,'' he gave him the instructions and Arthur moved his body automatically towards her left arm.

''I'm sorry, my lady,'' Gaius said as he placed a piece of clothing between her teeth so she could bite down to it if she needed. She looked at him with tears in her eyes.

''One,'' Gaius started counting down but pulled the dagger out at two, hoping it would ease the pain. Elena cried out, sobbing while the tears streamed down her face. Arthur turned his face away, he felt powerless.

''I'm sorry, I'm sorry,'' Gaius whispered before he now pressed down on her wound as his own tears fell to the ground. Eventually Gaius ordered them to leave the room so she could rest.

''How is she?'' Anthony rose from where he was seated as they walked out. He aimed for the door but Arthur stopped him.

''Gaius said no one is to enter,'' he dared to inform and hoped Anthony would not be offended. The king was about to object when Uther stepped in.

''Gaius is the best there is, she could not be in better hands,'' he said and with another king's confirmation, Anthony nodded.

Arthur wanted to stay outside the room, but his father demanded that he went to bed. Considering their last conversation regarding the princess, he did not dare to defy him. His body felt exhausted as he walked into his chamber. Just as he entered his bed, Merlin walked into the room.

''Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't know you were sleeping. I just wanted to see how you were doing... how is she?'' he asked with a concerned frown.

''Gaius is treating her. We don't know what happened, she'll have to tell us when she wakes up,'' he said with a low tone.

''She'll be okay, you'll see,'' Merlin said in an attempt to comfort him and Arthur gave away a weak nod.

''We should give her some flowers, right?'' Arthur asked.

''Yes, of course, I'll go to the garden right away,'' Merlin replied.

''Bring her some dandelions,'' Arthur said after him and Merlin stopped before he looked questioningly at Arthur.

''I'm confused to what your intention with the flower is? Don't you think roses or lilies are to be preferred?'' he asked confused.

''Just do as I say, Merlin,'' Arthur mumbled and after that it went dark. He fell asleep.

The morning came and Arthur still felt tired from last night, he had not gotten much sleep these past days. He got out of bed and dressed before he walked out of his room.

''What's the latest?'' he asked when he spotted Lancelot.

''We could not find any more intruders, it seems like it was only three,'' he said and Arthur nodded.

''How many are alive?'' he asked.

''None,'' Lancelot replied and Arthur looked surprised at him before nodding. Of course his father would execute them directly, he thought.

''And the princess?'' Arthur dared to ask and Lancelot frowned to the question.

''What about her?'' he asked, becoming slightly nervous.

''About that she was stabbed yesterday,'' Arthur said and made sure to keep a steady tone when talking about her. Lancelot widened his eyes by those words.

''Wha- no, I did not know,'' he said with a concerned and chocked face expression that Arthur reacted vaguely too, but he brushed it away as quickly.

''Yeah, we don't know what happened yet, she'll give her testimony when she awakes,'' Arthur said and to that, Lancelot just nodded.

Arthur walked over to Elena's room and took a deep breath before entering her chamber. More or less everyone was already in there as he glanced over at the bed that Elena was sitting in. He noticed the bruises on her face, throat and arms as his jaw tensed. He had not noticed them before and was fearful to know what she went through last night.

''Could you tell us what happened, sweetheart?'' Anthony asked and looked at his daughter. He was sitting by her side.

''Where's Henry?'' she asked but her father ignored the question.

''Elena, you must tell us what happened,'' he said again and with hesitation, she began.

''Everything happened so quickly. I was lying in bed and heard some noises, so I went up to see what it was. I opened the door and saw three men standing outside. When they saw me, they ran towards me and grabbed me and covered my mouth so I could not scream. And then they tried to...'' she stopped and squeezed the blanket tighter before lowering her gaze.

''...do things. But I would not hold still,'' she struggled to say and Arthur felt how his pulse went up in anger.

''And then they decided to kill me so I would not tell anyone about them. But I somehow managed to remove the hand that covered my mouth and screamed for help. And the guards heard me. And I was stabbed with a dagger... and then I was in Gaius room... and yeah,'' she said as her voice faded towards the end and her sentence became less and less detailed. Silence filled the room as nobody really knew what to say. Arthur looked at her while anger grew within him as he thought about how someone could do such a thing to a defenseless woman.

''I'm terribly sorry about everything that you went through. Truly I am,'' Uther was the first one to speak.

''We will make them pay for what they did. We will,'' Sebastian was the second one to speak. With shimmering eyes, she gave away a nod, trying not to cry.

''We should let her rest,'' Anette said and walked closer to the young woman. She gave the kings a gaze and they all understood that it was their call to leave the room.

''Of course, let us know if you need anything,'' Uther said and with that, all the men started to leave the room. Anthony wanted to stay, but everything was overwhelming for him and he didn't know how to react, so he just followed the rest of the men out.

''I'll prepare a bath and some lavender. It's good for the nerves,'' Anette continued to speak with a calm voice and Charlotte and Morgana nodded. Charlotte walked towards the door and closed it behind the men. Arthur that was looking into the room, turned when the door closed as an exhale escaped between his lips.

Arthur had tried to do some paperwork to make the time go by faster, but he could not concentrate on the words that were written on the papers. All he could think about was Elena.

''Merlin, I have to talk to her,'' Arthur let out and Merlin turned surprised towards him.

''Wha- I don't think that's a good idea right now,'' Merlin said a little worried, but on Arthur's face to read it didn't seem like it was anything that was up for discussion. Arthur couldn't let more time pass after everything that had happened since the feast.
