The group, after reaching their next destination, teleported to said world, but the place was not the one they expected to start with.
"Okay, what are we doing here?" Priere asked, looking around. "Why do I have the feeling that we have ended up inside a clock tower?"
As the others looked around, they saw that they were evidently inside a clock tower. Then Edea left through the only exit she saw, raising her voice a moment later.
"Maybe because we're in a clock tower?" Edea asked aloud.
Everyone headed over to where Edea was, seeing that they were obviously in a clock tower with stone gargoyles on the railing, in the center of a large city.
"Okay, of all the places you could have transported us, do you leave us here?" Airy asked Eve.
"Although it may not seem like it, the city is very populated, and the chances of being seen teleporting in an alleyway were very high. This area is the only place without vital signs." Eve explained.
"Okay, then let's go down the stairs," Kairi said.
"That's not a good idea," Makoto said.
"Why's that?" Nina asked.
Makoto pointed down for everyone to look, seeing how many people were coming and going from below, most of them in blue uniforms.
"Wait a second," Kairi said, before looking at Makoto. "Are we over a police station?"
"It seems that." The squirrel girl replied. "If we go down now, we'll draw too much attention."
"Are you sure about that?" Edea asked.
Makoto sighed, and with a deadpan pointed to her tail and squirrel ears, then to Rena's ears, then to Nina's and Airy's wings, then to Eve herself and her drones, and finally to Priere's demonic form.
"Yeah, okay, most of us stick out more than a succubus in a men's club," Edea said. "But if Rena hides her ears in her hair, both her, Kairi, and I can go down without a problem."
"That won't take away from the fact that you showed up at the police station unannounced," Makoto said.
"Right, they might arrest us for looking suspicious," Eve said.
"Well, we could fly away," Nina suggested.
"In broad daylight?" Eve asked.
"She's right," Kairi said. "It's very likely that they'll see us flying if we go out now."
Then Kairi looked towards the horizon, where she could see the sun go down.
"Soon it will be dark. We will then take the opportunity to fly down and look for some clue." Kairi said.
"Okay, well, to wait it has been said." Priere shrugged.
As it got dark, the girls went back inside the clock tower to wait. While they were there, they noticed that there were several things inside the tower, such as electrical appliances, some tables, and even an armchair facing a television.
"Eve, did you say there was no one up here?" Nina asked. "Looks like someone lives here."
"It will be someone who stays to live here sometimes," Rena suggested.
"That doesn't matter, as soon as we leave here, no one will know that we were in this place," Makoto said as she stretched her arms up.
"Freeze!" exclaimed a voice behind her.
"Oh seriously?" Makoto asked blankly, holding her hands up.
All but Makoto turned their gaze towards the one she spoke to, being her a dark-skinned woman with long dark blue hair and brown eyes, dressed in a red leather jacket and jeans, pointing a gun at Makoto.
"Who are you and what are you doing here?" The woman asked, pointing her gun at the squirrel girl.
The girls were silent, debating whether to tell him the truth or spout some lie. Rena could draw the bow from her to shoot an arrow at the gun, but she didn't know what the woman's reflexes were, so she didn't want to risk it.
"I would put the gun down if I were you, miss." Said Airy, who was standing behind the woman with her hand pointing to her head, surely ready to cast a spell.
The woman glanced back, but she kept pointing at Makoto.
"Hey, relax everybody, okay?" Edea began to speak. "We don't want to make things any worse."
"So? Do you think something like this scares me?" The woman asked and quickly jumped back into Airy, who she grabbed by her arm and threw to the ground with a judo hold, pointing her weapon at the fairy. "You should have listened to your friend."
"Actually, it was for you, miss. But it's been good, really." Edea said with a shrug.
Airi rolled her eyes annoyed by Edea's comment.
Eve was thinking of a solution to this unexpected situation, when her scanners began to detect something that wasn't there before, looking towards the exit of the tower.
"What's happening?" Kairi asked.
"It's impossible, but I'm detecting something behind us, outside the tower!" Eve exclaimed.
Then Kairi, who was closest to the door, began to hear how something was cracking, and turning around her eyes widened as she saw how the gargoyle statues were cracking, finally breaking completely, revealing that under the stone were creatures of flesh and blood. Kairi went into shock and started to back away, causing everyone to turn to see the creatures come through the door.
In front of them were seven creatures. Six of them walked on two legs and had wings and a tail. Except for one that walked on all fours and had a doggy appearance.
The one who looked like the leader had lavender skin and long black hair wearing a dark loincloth with a black belt. On the forehead, he had horn-like structures and the wings were folded like a cloak.
The next one looks like an old man with tanned skin, long white hair, and golden ribbons on his wings. His left eye seemed to be blinded and he was wearing a brown shirt with black shoulder pads and tan pants. Also on the loincloth side, he wore a sword.
The third was also the smallest of them with olive-colored skin. He had no hair and the wings were not on his back but between his arms and legs like a flying squirrel.
The next one was red with a wild mane of white hair. He had two horns on his forehead and his face resembled a flying dinosaur and, like most of the others, he wears a loincloth.
The next teal was the fattest of them and had ears like flippers.
The next, the only female in the group, was tall and slender with lavender skin and dark ponytail hair, dressed in a modest two-piece suit.
The last one was wingless and yet a deep blue color, with fan-shaped ears, two small horns above the eyebrows, and three spikes on its back, not to mention a short tail. She growled at the group like a dog.
"Seriously, those statues were genuine gargoyles?" Edea asked seeing the creatures wide-eyed.
"Elisa... who are these people?" The one who was the leader asked.
"That's what I would like to know, Goliath!" said the woman. "I found them here when I was going up to meet you!"
"Oh, alright, let's get this over with quickly." Said Priere preparing her staff.
The gargoyles seemed ready to fight when Rena stepped in front of Priere. "No, wait!" Rena exclaimed, turning her gaze to Priere. "I don't think they're dangerous!"
"Are you serious?" Edea asked, glancing sideways at the gargoyles.
"That's it. Look at them." Rena said pointing to the gargoyles. "We already faced Gargoyles before, don't you remember? They don't look like the ones we faced before. Look, they don't even have the mark on their body."
Kairi and the others took in the gargoyles, and evidently, none of them seemed to bear the symbol of the Fallen.
"Can I know what you are talking about?" the old man asked. "What gargoyles are you talking about?"
"This can be complicated to explain," Kairi said.
The gargoyle named after Goliath crossed its arms. "I think that would be for the best for everyone."
"Okay, but before you explain anything, could you tell your friend to put the gun down?" Makoto asked, still with her hands up pointing at the woman pointing her gun at Airy. "It will be more comfortable for everyone."
At one point, Kairi and the others explained to the woman and the gargoyles who they were, why they were there, and what the Fallen were. At least as much as the rules allowed to divulge.
"So... you're from somewhere we've never seen," Goliath spoke. "And that you are looking for a certain object to be able to reach the lair of these strange creatures that you call the Fallen to stop their leader, who is responsible for massacring this 'Order of the Phoenix' and your mother. Is that so?
"Roughly, that's the idea." Kairi said.
The little gargoyle was thoughtful for a moment. "Hmm, creatures that become what one fears the most. The truth is that they must be really terrifying."
"Oh, you have no idea how much they are," Rena said. "If we were to list all the monsters we've faced, it would turn daylight."
"Uh, now that we're fine here, why don't you introduce yourselves?" Edea asked.
"Fair enough, Edea," Goliath said. "I am Goliath, the leader of this clan. They are Hudson, Lexington, Brooklyn, Broadway, Angela, and the Bronx." Goliath introduced the old gargoyle, the small green, the red, the teal, the female, and the quadruped respectively.
"And I am Detective Second Class, Elisa Maza." The woman introduced herself.
"Well, what shape is the object in question?" Lexington asked.
"It's in the shape of a little black triangle, like this one," Eve said, generating a hologram of the fragment they possessed. "The only clue we have is that the object should be around the area for at least sixteen years."
"Sixteen years ago? That doesn't sound like anything to me." Elisa said.
"And we've been sleeping for a millennium, so we don't know about it," Brooklyn said.
"And despite living in Avalon all my life, I have never heard of anything like it," Angela explained.
"Well, clearly we can't go around asking everyone about it," Edea commented. "Believe me, the less people know about that thing, the better."
Hudson approached the hologram with a fixed frown. "In fact, I think I've seen something like this before."
That made everyone look at the old gargoyle in surprise.
"When?" Rena asked.
"A couple of nights ago, while I was watching TV," Hudson said. "They had changed the schedule for a documentary of ancient relics enhanced with recent objects. And I think I saw that triangle there, on one of the objects."
"You know? My father told me about that documentary the other day, although he said he was offended by the way they tried to improve a relic from his tribe." Elisa said.
"I'll check the computer to see if I find anything," Lexington said as he turned to a computer in the room.
"You seem to be pretty good with computers," Eve commented.
"Yeah, well, I can do marvels with it." said the gargoyle proudly
Lexington began searching through the computer until he found information about said documentary, at which point Hudson approached to see the images one by one.
"That is!" The old gargoyle exclaimed, pointing to an image.
They all came to see. The image showed what looked like a centuries-old ancient Greek ritual shield, surprisingly well preserved. And evidently in the center of the shield was a small black triangle pointing up, which the documentary said was embedded approximately fifteen years ago in an attempt to restore it after its discovery.
"There is no doubt, it is the object we are looking for," Kairi said.
"Okay, we just have to take the item, extract the fragment, and head back the way we came," Airy said.
Elisa was apparently against that particular idea.
"Where is the shield?" Nina asked.
Lexington searched a bit until he found the information. "Oh, my. According to this, the shield is owned by David Xanatos."
"David Xanatos?" Kairi asked.
"A billionaire businessman we know very well," Goliath said with a frown. "Though I'm not surprised that this object is in his possession."
"Well, we just have to talk to him and convince him not to let us take the fragment," Nina suggested.
"With our luck, something bad will happen to us before we get the fragment," Airy said.
"Don't jinx us, Airy," Edea said.
"And where does this Xanatos live?" Priere asked.
Brooklyn indicated with her finger that they followed him out of the tower, and on the terrace she pointed to a castle that stood on top of a skyscraper.
"Seriously?" Edea asked, glancing at the castle and then at the gargoyles intermittently. "Seriously?!"
"Once that castle was our home. But due to certain incidents between us and Xanatos, we had to leave our home." Goliath explained.
"Although now things are a bit calmer between us after saving his son," Broadway commented.
Kairi thought for a moment.
"Maybe we can take advantage of this and ask him nicely," Kairi suggested.
"Okay, how did we get there?" Edea asked, but she saw how the others looked at the gargoyles, making her sigh. "Why do I have to ask?"
"We could use the helicopter. Although we haven't used it in a while." Lexington suggested.
"Wait. Do you have a helicopter? Makoto asked.
Broadway agreed. "Yes, we have one! We got it from some bad guys and Lex fixed it up and customized it. Although we only used it once."
"Well, better that than going on a couple of drones," Edea said, pointing to Eve's drones.
"Well, you're lucky. I'm quite a pilot." Makoto said proudly.
The girls shrugged.
Sometime later, the group went to the skyscraper castle in a helicopter adorned with gargoyle wings, while they were followed by the gargoyles that flew nearby, except for Elisa and Bronx who were in the helicopter, the latter pleased by the elf's caresses on his head.
Before long the helicopter landed at the castle's helipad and the group got off the helicopter just as the gargoyles landed nearby.
"Well, the trip wasn't bad, is it?" Makoto asked with a smile.
"I must admit that it has been the smoothest helicopter flight I have ever had in my life," Elisa said.
"Well, now it will be better to knock on the door," Priere said.
"That won't be necessary, miss."
Everyone turned to whoever spoke, seeing that a blond man with glasses and light blue eyes, dressed in a black suit with a red tie, and with a stone cuff protruding from his left sleeve, was approaching them.
"And this guy?" Airy asked.
"It's Owen, Xanatos's assistant," Goliath said, before approaching him. "We have to talk to Xanatos right now. It's very important."
"I suppose so, but Mr. Xanatos is busy talking to a guest right now. I only ask for your patience. As soon as his meeting is over, Mr. Xanatos will gladly receive you." Owen told them.
"But sir, it's important. We have to talk to him about a certain item in his possession." Kairi said.
Owen went to say something to Kairi, but Kairi was surprised to see her.
"Who is he meeting with?" Elisa asked.
Owen collected himself in a moment. "With a most unusual person, by the name of Medusa."
The girls were shocked at hearing the name while looking at each other, and suddenly started running towards the castle pushing Owen aside.
"Hey ladies! Wait!" Owen exclaimed when he saw them run, being followed by the gargoyles, and lastly by Owen after frowning.
While inside the castle, a man in a black suit with a short beard and brown hair was sitting on a chair, while in front of him was Medusa sitting on the opposite chair.
"To be honest, I have a hard time believing the story of yours about other worlds, even when you're standing before me." The man commented.
"Oh, don't worry, Mr. Xanatos. This reaction is very typical when it is revealed to people that there are more worlds than their own." Medusa said.
"True. But at least that information itself is already enough in exchange for the shield." Xanatos said. "Although I would prefer some physical proof that you are not lying to me. You could easily pass as one of Avalon's mystical beings."
"Oh me? One of the Children of Oberon? Don't make me laugh." Medusa said letting out a small laugh. "But your doubts are well founded. That's why I took the trouble to get a couple of items for you."
Medusa snapped her fingers, and a walking statue in the shape of a human soldier (Stone Man) carrying a box advanced to hand it over to Xanatos, while another did the same handing him a book.
"This book will explain everything you need to know about how to travel between worlds. In addition, in the box, you will find an object of vital importance to be able to carry out these trips." Medusa said. "While the box in question comes from a world of pirates where there is a tree whose wood is stronger than steel. And said wood was used to build said box."
Xanatos tapped the box with his fist, seeing how hard it was.
"I recognize that they are more than acceptable proofs of the veracity of your story, Miss Medusa," Xanatos said. "Let me contact my assistant and he will bring the shield soon."
"It will be a pleasure to wait a bit," Medusa said.
"By the way, speaking of which, why the interest in an ancient Greek shield?" Xanatos asked.
"Oh, it's just sentimental. It's always nice to own something that once belonged to your homeland." Medusa replied.
"I suppose," Xanatos replied.
Just then Kairi and the others burst into the room, followed by the gargoyles.
"I knew it!" Edea exclaimed when she saw Medusa.
"What the?" Xanotos asked seeing the group break in like that. "May I know what's the meaning of this?"
"I'll tell you straight up, sir. Whatever this monster has promised you, don't give her the shield!" Kairi exclaimed.
Xanatos raised an eyebrow at the girl's sudden request, before looking at Goliath. "You have something to do with this, Goliath?"
"On that shield is an item of great value. Something they need." Goliath said, looking then at Medusa. "Something she shouldn't acquire."
At that moment Owen came into the room. "I'm sorry sir, but I couldn't stop them."
"It's okay, Owen," Xanatos said, then turned his gaze to Medusa. "They have revealed that our guest has more information than she has divulged."
"Oh, what a shame. I wanted to do this smoothly. I was even willing to leave this world intact after getting the fragment." Medusa said before turning her gaze to Kairi. "But now that the daughter of the Phoenix is here, it's the perfect time to settle this."
Bronx growled ferociously and lunged at Medusa, but when she looked at Bronx, her eyes flashed, and suddenly the four-legged gargoyle froze like a statue.
"What was that?" Broadway asked surprised.
"It's Medusa's special ability: to paralyze whoever she directs her gaze at," Airy said. "Calm down, he will recover soon."
"As long as nothing happens to him," Medusa said. "Anyway, how about we settle?" she asked, snapping her fingers.
At that moment several Stone Men appeared in the room, along with several Archer Skeletons and Armored Wargs.
"There are too many people here. Let's go outside where we have more space." Goliath suggested.
"I agree with him," Kairi said, and they all started backing away, having the Fallen in pursuit. Obviously, Priere grabbed Bronx and carried him with her as they fell back.
"Medusa!" Xanatos exclaimed. "You better be careful what you do in my home!"
"Look, you'd better not freak out, sir," Medusa said with a dark smile. "Your little one will be thankful for it."
Xanatos's eyes widened when he heard her words. "You wouldn't dare!" The man exclaimed, but seeing that the snake woman's countenance did not change, he turned his gaze to Owen. "Owen, quickly!"
"Right now, sir!" Owen said before running off into another hallway.
Lexington, hearing what was happening, followed Owen, while at that moment Makoto decided to follow them.
Eventually, the rest of the group made it outside the castle, from where they could confront the Fallen who were beginning to emerge.
Rena was the first to greet the Fallen with her arrows, using the narrow entrance to counter her number, at the same time as Nina and Airy used her magic to support the idea. Eve also used her arsenal to hold off the Fallen at the entrance, at the same time Elisa drew her pistol and started shooting at the entrance.
At that moment Eve looked to the right of the skyscraper, spotting several flying Fallen like Stone Gargoyles, Bats, Giant Bats, and Elemental Wraiths flying closer.
"Aerial enemies!" Eve exclaimed alerting the rest.
"Great, with what I like flying enemies." Edea cursed.
"They are not the only ones who can fly. We'll take care of the flying ones." Goliath said, and the gargoyles took flight to meet the Fallen.
Rena, Eve, Nina, Airy, and Elisa continued to contain the Fallen at the exit until containment was impossible. The monsters began to come out in numbers and attack the group. Rena continued shooting as many Fallen as she could, supported by Elisa with her gun. Airy and Nina began to use their spells to try to destroy or weaken the Fallen that were coming out of the castle. And at the same time Priere and Edea, this one using the Pirate profession focused on hitting the Fallen that approached them hard. Even Bronx, who was able to move immediately, started attacking the Fallen like a mad dog.
At the same time, Kairi also attacked the Fallen closer to her with her Keyblade, several of them being the Stone Men, who were fighting fiercely with their swords and shields, staying on the defensive against her. The most logical thing to do would be to use her powers now, but she knew that Medusa would soon be leaving to see the show, and Kairi would need to save her transformation for when she appeared.
In the sky, the gargoyles began to face the flying Fallen, showing who were the masters of the air in the city.
Brooklyn grabbed one of the Stone Gargoyles head-on. "You give our species a bad name!" She exclaimed the red gargoyle before throwing the Fallen into a Giant Bat.
Goliath fought several Stone Gargoyles, but he used the facts of the Nulla Specters to his advantage to get them to beat the other Fallen, at the same time that Hudson used his sword to cut down the various Fallen he passed. near. At the same time, Angela and Broadway contained the giant Bats and their smaller counterparts with distinct aerial maneuvers.
Meanwhile, in a large bedroom, a woman with long orange hair and blue eyes with a tattoo in the shape of a fox's head over her right eye, dressed in black pants and a red sweater with blue shoes, was rocking the cradle where she was lying. a small baby with green eyes and orange hair. Just at that moment, she heard someone banging violently on the bedroom door.
The woman looked towards the door, wondering what it was until the door gave way revealing a Skeleton Soldier who started to move towards the woman, but instead of being scared, the woman gave him a roundhouse kick that threw him against the wall.
At that moment three Skeleton Archers appeared, aiming their bows at the woman, but then a greenish shadow ran over two of them, causing the third to turn to see what was happening.
"I'm sorry sir, but this is a private area!" Owen exclaimed causing the Fallen to turn to him, watching as the man smashed his stone fist into his skull sending him to the ground. After that, he addressed the woman. "Are you all right, Mrs. Fox?"
"We are fine," Fox said as she reached for a weapon hidden in the wall, firing at the Skeleton Soldier who was getting up.
"Is Alex alright?" Lexington asked after taking care of the Skeleton Archers, running into the room.
"Yeah, he's fine too," Fox replied, before looking at Owen. "What's going on?"
"Nothing important. It's just that her husband's latest business hasn't turned out as she expected." Owen replied adjusting his tie.
"And couldn't you do something with magic to contain those things?" Lexington asked.
"As you should know by now, by Oberon's order I am not allowed to use magic unless it is to teach Alex, and this is not the time for classes," Owen replied.
Just then a pair of Lickers came through the door, advancing menacingly.
"I seem to remember that Oberon told you that you could only use your magic to teach Alex, or to protect him," Fox replied. "And I think this is a good time to protect him."
Owen smiled at her words and in a haze he transformed into a boy of medium height with long white hair and blue eyes with pointy ears, dressed in a red shirt with a purple tunic with a yellow belt over it, dark blue pants, and red boots.
With a single snap of his fingers, the tongues of the thrown Lickers were tied together, causing the two Fallen to try to separate their tongues, at which point Lexington grabbed those tongues and threw them both out the window.
"Nice move, Puck," Lex said to the now little man.
"It was a good trick, but I think more tricks are needed," Puck said pointing to the entrance.
At that moment a Sentinel appeared at the door, aiming its cannon at them.
"Of course, everything is getting worse," Lex said looking at the Fallen.
Before the Sentinel could fire, Makoto punched him in the head from the side, followed by an elbow to the stomach and a kick to the back to unbalance him and force him into the room, then delivered a powerful right hand that sent the Fallen down. battleship flying through the window, causing it to fall into the void.
"That was great, Makoto!" Lexington exclaimed.
"Sorry about the window," Makoto said looking at them, before looking confused. "Where is the other one? Wasn't he in front? And who is the pixie?
"It's hard to explain, miss." Puck said bowing.
"Who is she?" Fox asked looking at Makoto.
"Introductions for later," Makoto said facing the door in a defensive position. "This isn't over yet." She said as more of the Fallen appeared at the door.
Outside the castle, the group continued to engage the Fallen both on the ground and in the air.
Rena and Elisa backed away as they shot the Fallen from a distance but Elisa looked at her gun.
"Wow, now I'm out of bullets." Elisa cursed.
"Then get to a safe place. I'll cover you." Rena said as she fired her mana arrows.
"I'm a police officer, so I can defend myself," Elisa said, before giving a hold to a Hunter who jumped on her, throwing him to the ground.
"Not bad, really. It's not bad at all." Rena said before shooting the Hunter before she could get up.
The gargoyles were still facing off against the flying Fallen until Broadway noticed some of the Fallen.
"Hey, don't some of those things look like the enemies from that horror game?" Broadway asked.
"Actually, they look a bit alike," Brooklyn said, but not before knocking down a stone Gargoyle.
As the group faced the Fallen, Medusa made her way through the doorway, leaning against the wall next to her with her arms folded.
"What do you want now?" Kairi asked, holding back the urge to lunge at her.
"I just want to ask you a question." Medusa started. "Do you like monsters with chainsaws?"
Kairi raised a confused eyebrow at the question.
"You're kidding, right?" Broadway asked. "Who really likes that stuff?"
"That is a no? What a pity." Medusa said. "I had brought a friend to play with you."
Upon those words a new Fallen came through the entrance, a huge red-skinned humanoid being with worn clothes and a sack of potatoes on his head with holes revealing bloody eyes, with a pair of chainsaws attached to his hands (Biggy Man). The Fallen brought the chainsaws together in a terrifying fashion causing sparks to fly from the chainsaws.
"Okay, this time they've gone too far," Priere commented when he saw the monstrosity.
"Let's see how you manage against this." Medusa with a smile, but her face changed when a shot from another side hit the Biggy Man's head causing him to stagger.
"I think I have something to say about it." Medusa turned when she heard Xanatos's voice, only to see a kind of red robotic replica of Goliath that was flying in the air.
"You're really stupid for coming alone." Medusa sneered looking at Xanatos. "And why are you trying to help them? Have they nothing to do with you?"
"Let's just say I am indebted to the gargoyles. And who says that I have come alone?
At that moment, more robotic replicas but black in color appeared flying, attacking the flying Fallen and helping the gargoyles to face them.
"For once I'm glad to see the Steel Clan on our side," Brooklyn said as she watched the robotic gargoyles take on the Fallen.
Now that Steel Clan was taking on the flying Fallen supporting the gargoyles, the pressure on the group was eased, but that didn't take away the enormous problem of the Chainsaw Fallen present. The Biggy Man started advancing waving his arms wildly as he advanced towards Edea, who had to get creative and use the Valkyrie profession to be able to jump away from the Fallen's chainsaws, at the same time that Eve used every weapon she could generate to attack from a distance. away from those dangerous weapons.
Bronx faced Medusa snarling in rage, but she simply pointed behind him with a grimace, where a Stone Man was about to attack Bronx from behind except for Xanatos who shot him to pieces.
"I know she's tempting, Bronx, but you'd better take care of the thugs first before dealing with the boss," Xanatos suggested before looking at the Biggy Man. "And that includes that thing."
Bronx growled after his words, but still instead of going for Medusa she jumped on a Licker which she bit before throwing it at several Zombies.
While Edea tried to stay away from the huge Fallen, both Airy and Nina took the opportunity to test their fire magic by incinerating him from behind, but apparently, the monster resisted the flames, and the worst thing was that now they had caught the Biggy Man's attention.
"Okay, that wasn't a good idea." Said Nina watching as the Biggy Man approached.
"And you tell me now?" Airy asked.
They both started flying away from the Biggy Man and its chainsaws and now that it was distracted, Rena was the one who started shooting her arrows at it, forcing it to defend itself by putting up its chainsaws as a shield against Rena's attacks, including a powerful magic arrow it pushed it several meters back.
"I have never liked monsters in horror saga, there is no way to destroy them," Elisa said after kicking a Skeleton Soldier.
Just then Edea landed near them. "Oh, don't worry. If I tell you what we've seen." Edea commented.
Kairi was holding back several of the Fallen present, just as a Warg jumped out after her. Fortunately, a shot hit the Fallen, killing him, capturing Kairi's attention, seeing Xanatos's armor who pointed one arm in her direction while shooting several Giant Bats with the other.
"You'll thank me later, miss. For now, let's take care of them." Xanatos said as he contained the nearby flying Fallen.
Kairi nodded now directing her gaze to the Biggy Man, who was slowly advancing towards Rena blocking her arrows. Unfortunately, Priere, who was supposed to be closest to her, was now focused on the Stone Men and other Fallen near her. And who knew where Makoto was at that moment. He then looked at Medusa, who was still smirking knowing that the Fallen One would take care of the group for her.
Seeing no other option, Kairi released her Esper Form and flew at full speed on her phoenix wings towards the Biggy Man, who realized he was getting closer and blocked Kairi's keyblade with his chainsaws. Just then the Fallen one began to attack her with her chainsaws while she blocked them with her keyblade.
"Kairi! Don't you know that it's a bad idea to attack someone with a chainsaw from the front?" Elisa asked.
"You think I don't know?" Kairi asked before deflecting one of the chainsaws and hitting the Biggy Man hard on the head.
The Fallen One recoiled from the blow received but still prepared to run towards Kairi with the chainsaws pointed at her, ignoring the other girls' attacks on him. Before he could arrive, Kairi flew over the Biggy Man and hit him from behind with a powerful Firaga that sent him staggering, though it didn't take long for him to turn to attack her with the chainsaw that could have cut her unless she backed away. time.
Kairi stared at the Biggy Man, realizing that one more strong blow could throw it out of the castle and into the void. Not even the strongest Fallen could withstand a fall like that, but for that, she would have to wait for the right moment. Which would be tricky now that it was advancing menacingly, but luckily Xanatos stood next to her and began firing at him with everything his armor had to contain it.
Goliath realized what was happening in the castle, noticing the situation of the Biggy Man and Kairi, and how the Fallen was beginning to advance with its chainsaws ready. The gargoyle then picked up one of the battle-damaged Steel Clan gargoyles and hurled it at the Biggy Man, causing it to stagger with the impact and the robotic gargoyle on top of it.
Taking advantage of this opportunity, Kairi launched her most powerful fire magic by hand at the Biggy Man, causing a powerful explosion that sent the Fallen flying over the battlements and falling from the top of the skyscraper.
"It hasn't been bad at all, but I'll still bill you for that unit," Xanatos said.
"Dammit..." Medusa cursed, looking at Kairi as she saw that the Fallen had failed again. "It seems that this ends here. Does not matter. I'll make sure they pay for it."
Then Medusa directed her gaze to Goliath who was flying at that moment, and just then Airy realized what he was up to.
"Watch out!" Airy exclaimed to Goliath.
Medusa smiled mischievously until a voice caught her attention.
"Don't even think about it, witch!"
Medusa turned to whoever spoke to her, and immediately put her hands over her eyes, letting out a piercing cry of pain, because the last thing she saw was Hudson using his sword against her eyes. It began to shake violently as his eyes bled.
"Damn you, monster! You will pay for this!" Medusa exclaimed angrily, as the snakes on her head hissed angrily at Hudson.
"You won't get a chance for that. And the only monster here is you!" The old gargoyle prepared to deliver the coup de grace, but then one of the robotic gargoyles changed targets and started shooting at Hudson making him move back, the metal gargoyle getting between him and Medusa.
"Can you tell me what he's doing?" Edea asked.
"It's not me, I swear!" Xanatos exclaimed.
"It's Master Brain! I detected his signal on that unit!" Eve exclaimed.
The robotic gargoyle, controlled by Master Brain headed for Medusa. "This is what you get for being over-confident and going off plan, Medusa."
"I do not care! I don't care about everything!" Medusa exclaimed angrily, still with her hands on her face. "To me my servants! Destroy this world! Let him succumb to the darkness!"
At that moment, countless Fallen began to appear not only in the castle but throughout the city, starting to cause chaos without any impediment and causing panic in the city.
"This is getting out of hand, father!" Angela exclaimed to Goliath.
"I can see that!" Goliath exclaimed looking at the Fallen that appeared.
They were all being surrounded by the tide of Fallen that were appearing, and their numbers were such that it was virtually impossible to contain them all. Even Kairi feared the worst at that moment.
"Enough!"
At that moment all the Fallen present in that world had stopped, as if something was holding them back at that moment.
"What's going on?" Asked Priere looking around and the Fallen paralyzed.
"That's what has happened," Xanatos said directing his gaze in a specific direction.
They all looked in that direction, where they saw a tall blue-skinned, white-haired man with blue eyes, dressed in red, gold, and black armor, with a large white cloak. He had his hands outstretched to his sides.
"Who is that?" Kairi asked.
At that moment Goliath landed next to the gargoyles in the castle.
"It is Oberon, governor of Avalon and lord of the Third Race," Goliath said.
"The Third Race?" Edea asked raising an eyebrow.
"I think they are the mythological creatures of this world," Nina commented.
"More or less," Elisa said.
Oberon looked around for a moment before continuing to speak.
"I don't know how you got there, but this world is not yours. I will not allow such unreasonable beings to roam free in this world." Then he high-fived above his head. "Now get out! Return to your world, or you will learn that your masters are not the only thing you have to fear!"
After those words, the Fallen began to disappear immediately until they all disappeared.
"Geez, that's what I call efficiency," Airy commented looking around him.
"How is it possible?"
Everyone turned their gaze to the steel gargoyle controlled by Master Brain and Medusa, who was still complaining in pain from her eyes.
"How have you noticed our presence? We made sure you couldn't detect the Fallen." Master Brain said.
"Do you think your magic could blind me?" Oberon asked. "I've only been watching your movements until your friend decided to bring all your monsters into this world." Then he pointed at both of them. "Now accept your defeat and leave this world before my patience runs out."
Master Brain shook his head as if frowning, just as a dark purple portal opened behind them.
"Go, I'll take care of your vision later." Master Brain ordered Medusa.
"I swear you will pay for this! I swear!" Medusa threatened before crossing the portal.
Then the steel gargoyle began to move to pass through the tunnel, but...
"Hey, you! That's mine!" Xanatos exclaimed, firing at the steel gargoyle.
The shot hit his head, destroying him and causing him to fall to the ground, as the portal closed.
"It wouldn't have helped. Surely he will have copied the schematics as soon as he takes control." Eve said.
"Does not matter. It was mine and I wanted it back." Xanatos said, before removing his helmet and looking at Oberon. "Thank you for your help, your highness."
"There is no way to reason with them," Oberon said. "The Fallen were a clear threat to all races, especially if they came with everything." Then Oberon walked towards Kairi. "Although honestly, I never expected to see a daughter of the Phoenix before my eyes."
"Wait, do you know who my father is?" Kairi asked as she transformed into her normal form.
"Of course, we were old friends back in the day," Oberon replied.
"My, one thing I didn't know," Xanatos commented.
"Furthermore, I know very well the reason why you have come here, child of the Phoenix," Oberon said before turning his gaze to Xanatos. "I hope you help her with whatever she needs."
After those words, Oberon disappeared in front of them.
"What just happened?" Edea asked.
"Better not ask," Elisa said.
Then Xanatos remembered something. "My wife and son! I must see if they are alright!"
"I have a suspicion," Kairi said, activating her comlink. "Makoto, are you alright?"
"Yes I'm fine." Makoto replied.
"Are you alone? Or is there someone there with you?" Kairi asked.
Kairi then nodded as she listened to Makoto until she looked at Xanatos. "Both are fine, don't worry."
"What a relief." Xanatos sighed in relief. "Now, I hope you have a good explanation of everything that happened."
Sometime later inside the castle, Xanatos listened to the entire story of Kairi and the others until then.
"Awesome," Xanatos said after hearing her story. "If it weren't for what happened tonight, I would have found it hard to believe your story."
"That's right, and that's why we come here because we look for the fragment that is in that shield," Kairi said.
"I understand. And it seems fair to give it to you." Xanatos said.
Before long, Owen appeared in the room with the shield they were looking for. And just as they supposed, the fragment they were looking for was in the center of the shield. Priere quickly pulled out the shield fragment.
"Hello, we already have another one," Priere said.
"Yeah, now we just have to find the other ones," Edea said.
The girls agreed.
"First of all, Miss Nanaya?" Xanatos asked, making her move closer. "You have helped protect not only my wife but also my son. I am in your debt, so if you ever need anything, you know where to find me." She said, holding out her hand.
"Thanks, maybe I'll tell someone. After all, I am in the group by specific orders." Makoto said shaking Xanatos's hand.
"I'll keep it in mind." The man said with a smile.
"Come on, we'd better go back," Kairi said, and everyone started to leave the room.
"Hey Hudson. Very good what you did with Medusa." Edea said to Hudson.
"Thank you. I only had my suspicions." Hudson replied.
When everyone had left, Owen turned to Xanatos.
"Sir, it is my duty to inform you about the damage caused in the fight," Owen said.
"Don't worry about it, Owen. Thanks to what Medusa gave us before all this mess, soon several worlds will receive the visit from David Xanatos." Xanatos said with a smile.
"By the way, before I forget." Said Rena returning to the room.
"What is it, miss?" Owen asked.
"Whatever Medusa gave you, please don't use it to cause more trouble," Rena said. "Things aren't to get any worse, okay?"
After that Rena left, making Owen and Xanatos look at each other confused and with a broken face.
In the city of Magnolia, a figure calmly approached the Fairy Tail guild house until reaching the door, tapping a few times with his hand. Not receiving any response, he crossed the door, finding himself inside the typical guild scene: a pitched fight between the guild members.
"Excuse me." The man said, trying to get people's attention so that someone would attend to him, but since apparently, no one was up for the job, this man pulled out a gun and shot at the ceiling.
The shot made everyone stop wondering what that noise was and who made it.
"I'm sorry ladies and gentlemen. It was the only way to calm them down a bit." Said the man.
"And who the hell are you?" Natsu asked, who was on top of Gray about to punch him in the head.
"My, my." The old man Makarov said as he approached to the man being pushed by one of the guild members. "I never thought I would see you around here. Does your intelligence agency need magical help?" The old man said with a smile.
Nick Fury looked seriously at the old man. "Makarov, we need to talk."
