I don't own Loonatics Unleashed

Enjoy!

Partaking on her daily walks to Acme University, Lexi Bunny was caught off guard when her friend pointed out that some 'fella,' according to her friend's dialect, was staring right towards them. The moment that Lexi Bunny turned her head to see whom it was, she couldn't catch a glimpse on whom that person was.

Before she was able to ask her friend on who it was, the rain had interrupted their conversation and the two girls took off as quickly as they could before the rain drenched them. The two were glad that they were close to the university that by the time they go there, the rain went from a fine mist to, as her friend would say it, 'raining cats and dogs.'

Once they were inside the university, the two girls took a seat at one of the benches before the start of their first class. Lexi took this opportunity to ask, "are you sure he was looking at us Andrea?"

"Well, he certainly wasn't lookin' at me, hon," Andrea said, her Southern accent evident in her voice when she spoke. "Fella tried to play it off like he was lookin' at the clouds in the sky." At that moment, she gave Lexi a mischievous smirk and leaned close to her to whisper, "but if ya ask me, he's a tall drink of iced tea."

Lexi had been friends with Andrea ever since high school and it had taken her sometime to figure out what she meant with her expressions. But this one, well she knew well what she meant. In response, Lexi whacked Andrea's arm with her notebook and gave her a little glare. "Andrea!" she gasped as she looked at her, "keep your eyeballs in your head."

A heartful laugh escaped the other rabbit's mouth as she looked at her friend before they commenced their walk over to the university. "I would say we had quite the productive morning on a Thursday mornin'. Ready for that calc test?"

"Ugh," Lexi groaned at the thought of it. "I've been studying all night for it but my mind goes back onto that cheerleading practice. Tryouts are in a month and I haven't started practicing yet…well I have but seriously practicing I mean."

"Ah," Andrea said as she waved her hand in the air and opened her notebook to review some of her notes for the calculus test. "I'm sure you'll get in."

Lexi appreciated her friend's kindness and positivity. She wished that she felt the same way. "What was it that you said to me one day? 'Don't count your chickens before they hatch.'"

Andrea soundly closed her notebook and turned to look at her friend. "Well would ya look at that. A couple more years with me and you'll be talkin' like me soon."

"I'm being serious," Lexi said to her, "Stacy will be holding the cheerleading tryouts and you know how she is."

It shouldn't have been quite a shock to Lexi that the head cheerleader was going to host the tryouts. It was understandable that the decision always came down to the one who oversaw the group. Knowing Stacy's reputation, not only as the cheerleader, but also the university's popular girl, Lexi couldn't help but feel a bit intimidated.

Andrea raised an eyebrow at her friend's sentence. "So? What does she have that you don't? Other than those fluffy poms-poms that reminds me of the sleeves on my grandma's wedding dress."

"Uh a routine," Lexi said to her, not even bothering to laugh at what her friend just said. "Maybe a lot of experience than I do."

"It's cheerleading Lexi," Andrea said, "it's not a job interview." She looked up at the clock on the wall and got up from her seat. "Gotta head to history class. See ya in calc, hon." She gave Lexi a wink and took off to head to her first class.

As for Lexi, she had free period and she was thankful for that. She hated the fact of letting the thought of cheerleading tryouts overburden her mind but it was something that she was passionate about. She didn't get the chance to try it out in high school and she hoped that it would be different in a university. She had informally met Stacy when she had a class with her and that's when Lexi found out that she wasn't the friendliest of people. Stacy had not said or done anything to Lexi but she had decided to keep her distance from the other. Turning her head and looking out the window, she wished that she was able to stay outside for her free period but with the rain pouring, it ruined her desire to stay outside.

She got up from her seat and turned around and bumped into another students.

"Oh no!" the other student exclaimed as he tried to catch an object in his hand and was starting to slip. He caught it just in time before the object hit the floor and let out a sigh of relief.

"Sorry," Lexi apologized as she looked at who she had bumped into. The student was a coyote. She had seen him around the halls but never had any contact with him, let alone learning his name.

If that broke, my grade would be doomed the coyote thought as he held the object close to him.

Lexi had never seen such devotion shown towards an object before and she found it a bit odd that a coyote of this age would be that close with…whatever object it was that he was holding. She didn't know what else she could say to him without making the whole scene look awkward. "Hope everything is okay," she said as she held a thumbs up towards him and then walked around the coyote.

Once she was a good distance away from him, she turned around and headed over to the cafeteria where she hoped she would be able to get a small bite of breakfast before her first class started.

A/N: I would like to mention that when I created my OCs they were superheroes from another planet. In this fanfic, they are AU and, for now, are just normal citizens of Acmetropolis. Thank you for the reviews!
