I don't own Loonatics Unleashed

Enjoy!

"And…ACTION!" the director on set yelled as the actors and actresses got into their positions for the scene of the movie. After it had stopped raining, Ace Bunny was glad that he would have the chance to work on set and watch how the scene played out. It wasn't easy being a stunt double, but since he was the one that had the most flexibility and resilience, he tried to make it easy upon himself.

He sat on one of the actors' chairs, trying to follow the scene. Apparently, the female costar had her eyes set upon her hero as he held her hand in his and they looked at each other with a lot of desire. Talk about a cheesy scene! As the two exchanged a conversation between one another, a large metallic hand reached out and snatched the woman away.

"AND CUT!" the director yelled as the metallic arm suspended the actress in the air, whilst her securely in its grip. "Bring in the stunt double!"

That's me Ace thought as he quickly put on the human-like mask over his face and ran up towards the set.

"Alright," the director said once Ace had joined the scene, "we'll be executing the scene where Joshua flies in to save Maybelle," he said calling the actor and actress by their character name. "Where are the wires? Why isn't the rabbit in wires?!"

Upon that question, the production team surrounded Ace and secured him as quickly as possible on the wires. Ace tried to see what they were doing, making sure that he would be safe whilst flying up in the air. Everything was happening so quickly that the moment that the team was finished, the director yelled "and ACTION!"

Before Ace could think, he was lifted from the ground and sprung directly towards the mechanical arm.

"Where's the emotion?" the director yelled through his megaphone, "you're supposed to be saving her not be scared to death!"

It wasn't his fault that he felt that way! He didn't even have the chance to get into character but to only get clobbered by the other mechanical hand. He didn't even have the time to block the attack.

"Bunny, focus!" the director yelled.

"I'm trying!" Ace managed to yell back and shook his head from the headache that was beginning to spread throughout his head. "Whoa!" he yelled and managed to duck just in time when the mechanical hand swiped at him. "Why did I ever sign up for this nonsense?" he whispered to himself, hoping that none of the crew heard him.

The director motioned with his arm towards the production crew. "Bring the wires down. I wanna see him flying towards her."

Just wait till I'm in character Ace thought. The headache slowly began to disappear and when he felt his body being lunged towards the arm, he tried to get as much into character as possible. He held his arm and legs straight and gave the illusion that he was flying in the air. He couldn't believe how much it felt like freedom. Well, it almost did. It would have been different if he didn't feel like a puppet on those wires. All it took was a little adjustment but he knew that he had to concentrate and save 'his girl.' Scrunching his eyes, when he approached the mechanical hand he slammed the side of his hands onto it as if he was performing a karate-chop. "HI-YAH!"

"CUT!" the director yelled. "What're you doing? That's not part of the script!"

"I thought of adding a little bit of flair to it," Ace called out.

The director snapped his fingers towards the production crew and motioned for them to lower Ace to the ground.

Oh boy Ace thought and let out a sigh. Now he was going to get an earful but this wasn't anything new. Ever since he had joined this movie set, the director didn't want to hear any of his ideas or even how they could improve the scenes. Ace felt that this movie was not going to have any success in the box office but he was only trying to make it better.

The director looked down at Ace once he was set on the ground. "How many times have we been through this?"

"Eh let's see," Ace said as started to mumble and count on his fingers. "Carry the two…too many times than I can count."

"Exactly," the director said, though he didn't appreciate the know-it-all response from him. "And my answer is going to be the same to everything. I am the director, which makes me your boss, which means you must do what I say."

Does that involve getting thrown in the air to the point where I can't breathe anymore? Ace thought but to avoid any conflict, he decided to keep those thoughts to himself. "Whatever you say…boss."

"That's a wrap for today! We'll pick up the scene tomorrow," the director said as the cast and crew began to pick up their belongings.

Ace took off his mask and then joined a group of actors that were chatting between one another. "We need to try that Italian restaurant down the street. I heard it makes some good homemade spaghetti."

"I can't eat carbs," the starlet of the movie said in a voice that reminded him of an extremely vintage Hollywood star. "It's taken a lot of months to have a physique like this. But I can join you all for a cup of wine."

It was like he was invisible to them. Why? Because he wasn't a human? He felt that he shouldn't have such a hard time trying to fit in with these people. He was part of the team but, they acted like he wasn't.

Not my loss Ace said with a shrug of his shoulders. While they slurped on their spaghetti, he was going to crunch on a healthy orange carrot, even if it sounded like a lonely thing to do. He turned on his heel and was about to walk back inside his trailer when he stopped and spotted something from the corner of his way. Those two female rabbits were strolling down the sidewalk at the exact spot that he had seen them this morning.

Both females stopped and chatted between one another. He noticed one of them leaning close to other, as if they were exchanging a secret before the blond turned her head and looked over at him. This time, he didn't turn his head the other way. What were they talking about? The only that he could assume was about him. He seemed to be the only rabbit, one of their kind, that was even around these areas of Acmetropolis. At this point, he would rather talk to total strangers than be with the film crew. Taking a deep breath, he walked over to the two girls.

"Eh, what's up girls?" he asked them, his Brooklyn-accent clear in his voice.

Both girls looked up and the blonde looked more surprised than the brunette. "Looks like he heard us talkin' about him," the brunette said to the blonde. When she didn't respond, the brunette rolled her eyes. "Howdy partner."

Huh Ace thought. So, she ain't from these parts of town. Very nice. "Thought I'd come and say hello. I've seen both of youse earlier this morning and was surprised to see rabbits in this part of the town. I thought I was the only one for a sec there."

"Nah," the brunette answered, "there's plenty of us around. We're just good at hiding, ain't that right Lexi?"

Lexi Ace thought of the blonde's name as he looked over at her. She seemed to be the quiet one of the two from what he gathered, but those that were silent were the most interesting. "Well, it's nice to meet you," Ace said, more to the blonde than the brunette.

Lexi's eyes naturally perked up when he looked over to her but she didn't think much of it. To not make herself look awkward in the eyes of this, if she was to say it, dashing bunny, she looked over his shoulder and over to the movie set. "You're shooting a movie?" she asked him.

"Ah so you're a famous one," the brunette said, "have you ever met Tony Grebe? He's Lexi's favorite actor."

"Andrea!" Lexi glared at her friend before looking back at Ace, "ignore her."

"Never heard of him," Ace said with a shake of his, "say, what does this Grebe fella got that I don't got?"

Andrea looked at him up and down with a smirk upon her lips. "A beak," she answered, which caused Lexi to facepalm.

A laugh almost escaped Ace's lips when he saw Lexi's reaction. He caught her lightly blushing about the whole scenario that unfolded. "Getting back to your question," he began, "yeah, it's a movie. I'm the stunt double in the film. Playing the superhero and getting my cottontail whooped in the process."

"What the name of the film?" Lexi asked him.

"You're interested?" he asked her with a raised brow.

"Yeah," Lexi said with a slight shrug of her shoulders, "we may be there at the grand opening."

I can tell ya that it's gonna fail the box office Ace thought. After reading the script so many times, it had reached the ultimate level of cliché that it was better to start the whole production from the beginning. Where was the humor? Where was the comedy? At this point, it seemed that no one wanted to watch superhero movies anymore. Nothing like that happened in real life anyway so what was the point? "You may if you're into superhero movies."

"Oh," Andrea said, "so it's one of those movies."

Lexi glanced at her friend before looking back at Ace. "I think superhero movies are great," she said to him, "nothing like fighting crime in the name of goodness."

"Not to mention the boom, boom, pow," Andrea said. "Seen them all. They ain't that great."

"Huh," Ace said as he looked at Lexi, "I didn't take you for the type to watch those films."

"I had a brother who watched them all the time," Lexi said to him, "I decided to join him one day and got myself hooked."

Had? Ace thought when she said that. She was a girl of mystery. He looked over at Andrea who remained quiet for a mere minute and looked over at Lexi. Lexi looked fine but he could sense that there was something secretive behind her eyes, something that he couldn't discover. "I guess I'll know who I'm gonna see at the grand opening then," Ace spoke up, hoping the remove the silence that had formed between the three of them.

"You just might," Lexi said with a small smile upon her lips. "I'll be on the lookout for…"

"Ace Bunny," he introduced himself as he held his hand out towards her. She reached over and held it gently and gave it a shake. Her hand was small and dainty, almost like it could be broken but he held it with much gentleness as he could. As opposed to Lexi's, when he reached over to Andrea for a handshake, her grip was strong that the tips of his fingers felt numb. Sheesh he thought when he pulled back his hand what a grip!

"Shoot," Andrea spoke up as she looked at her watch that presented the time 3:00 PM in a hologram fashion in front of them. "Shoot, gotta head home."

"Me too," Lexi said to her before turning her eyes and looking over at Ace. "Will we see you here tomorrow?"

"If they ask me to do a scene," Ace said to her, "so it depends."

Hopefully Lexi thought to herself and gave Ace another small smile. "See you around…Ace," she said as both girl bid their goodbyes to him.

Ace watched as the two of them disappeared into the distance of the street, but he couldn't help and think that one blonde bunny in particular looked over her shoulder and sent him another one of those sweet smiles.
