I don't own Loonatics Unleashed

Enjoy!

Slam Tasmania had finished his training for the afternoon and thought it best to relax before the match. His manager had signed him up what was the 'greatest match of the century.' Then again, every single one of those matches had the same title to it. The only issue was that he didn't know whom he was going to be up against but he was open to any surprises that came him way. He had the name 'Twisted Spinner' to live up to after all. He dried the sweat that had pooled on his forehead with a towel before throwing it over his shoulder. He looked outside the window of the gymnasium and wished that he could be outside. However, his manager would disapprove of that and he would be in trouble with him.

This was something that Slam did not understand. His manager may have been helping him get into various matches but Slam was helping him more. He was getting more of Slam's money and Slam was basically obeying every single command that his manager said. It made Slam feel like he was more of a caged animal than a wrestling professional. He tried to be more flexible in his thoughts about this whole issue, but it always led back to the same assumptions. He didn't want to get angry, but he had feelings too. It hurt him when he felt that he was being used for someone else's gain.

With those thoughts in his mind, he did the one thing that he had promised his manager that he wouldn't do. He disobeyed and walked out of the gymnasium and into the late afternoon air. After all that rain that had poured, the air was cool and pleasant. The first feeling that came over him was the feeling of freedom and even though it was just temporary, he enjoyed the moment. Right above him, he noticed a pair of bluebirds twittering with one another as they flew together, making it look like they were dancing. He couldn't remember when the last time was he had seen animals in nature. Of course, they had always been around, but to just sit back and enjoy it, he never had that luxury.

He continued to walk down the sidewalk and that was when he knew he had made the wrong decision to do so. From the looks that the citizens of Acmetropolis were giving him, he didn't know if they recognized him from the wrestling matches on television or of the fact that he was just horrifying to look at. He couldn't believe that living in such an advanced world, judgement still existed. However, he was not going to let the side glances of others ruin his afternoon.

He noticed a bench next to a bus stop that was occupied by one person. He had never been on a bus before and he wondered what was there to see if it took him across Acmetropolis. Surely that person wouldn't mind if he sat there too. He walked over to the bench and sat down. When he did so he noticed that was sitting on the bench get up and leave. He only looked at the person for a mere second before a forlorn look crossed his features. It was interesting how people only loved him when he was wrestling but didn't show the same when he wasn't wrestling. The one good thing about this was that he could enjoy everything in peace but it would also be a matter of time when even that turned out to be lonely.

As he sat there and watched the citizens of Acmetropolis walking about and enjoying the afternoon, he heard a set of feet walking towards the bench. He didn't bother to look at whom it was. Why be faced with another judgmental look? He got the point.

"What's up, doc?" an unfamiliar voice made its way to his ears as Slam turned around and looked at who it was. It was a gray rabbit who was wearing, of what looked like, a costume from a movie set. He had a calm look upon his features and pointed to the empty spot next to Slam. "Is this seat taken?"

Slam was caught off guard. No one had ever asked him such a question, let alone stood this close to him. He looked at the rabbit up and down, trying to see if there was a catch until he nodded his head followed by a grunt.

"Thanks," the rabbit said as he took the liberty and sat down on the bench. "Whoo, what a day today!" he leaned back his head and looked up at the sky. Starting off with the strange weather this morning and those scenes that he had to redo a couple of times, it was a heavily productive day to the point where he couldn't feel his bones anymore.

Slam felt the awkward silence between them, but then again, it was something that he was used to. At least this rabbit seemed to be nice enough to not give him one look and run away.

"You from around this area?" he looked back at the rabbit, "seems like I keep seeing new faces every day." First those two female rabbits, one that he couldn't stop thinking about, and now this guy. Upon seeing the Tasmanian devil closely, his eyes changed from neutral to shock.

Here it comes Slam thought to himself, knowing what was going to happen.

"Whoa," the rabbit said as he stood up on his feet, "you're the Twisted Spinner!" he pointed out and blinked a couple of times to ensure that he was looking at the right person. "I've watched all your matches!"

Now this was a reaction that Slam was accustomed to, thought first time it was from a rabbit. At least he didn't run away like he thought he would.

"The way you atomic dropped your opponents was insane!" the rabbit expressed his thrill of one of the episodes that Slam had been a part of. "I thought you were going to make it to the championships that day."

Slam remembered that he was able to defeat one opponent. The other one though, had been quite the challenge for him causing him to lose. "Uh-huh," he answered the rabbit with a shake of his head, "no champion."

The rabbit's features softened when he said that. "Ah don't worry," he said to him, "you're still wrestling and you're still great at it. You'll be a champion soon enough my friend."

He couldn't remember any other stranger having this much faith in him that didn't serve as an advantage. "Name?" he asked the rabbit and pointed at him.

"Who? Me?" the rabbit asked, taken aback by the question. "Ace Bunny," he smiled at him.

"Slam," the Tasmanian devil introduced himself by his true name.

"I would ask for an autograph but I ain't got anything." Though seeing him was good enough than just getting an autograph and having no form of interaction.

"Next time," Slam said with an authentic smile upon his lips.

"That's right," Ace nodded his head, "I'll probably see you around here. It's great to meet someone else that's in a different form of entertainment." And not so snobbish he thought to himself considering the actors and actresses that he worked with.

So, this rabbit was in entertainment too? Slam wondered which type of business he was in. All he knew was wrestling and hadn't been exposed to anything else other than that. When Slam was about to ask him, he stopped when he heard an all too familiar angry tone of voice coming towards him.

"SLAM!" his manager yelled as he caught him by the bench, "I've been looking all over for you! Where have you been?"

Ace turned around and noticed an angry man walking towards them. What's his problem? the rabbit thought and rose an eyebrow at him.

"Did you finish your training?" the manager asked him, "what're doing out here? Mingling with fans? You don't have time for that! I got some matches booked for you until the big tournament in a month and believe me, the whole world will be watching. Not to mention France! We can't lose their consumer views when you're out here dilly-dallying when you should be training."

Ace rose an eyebrow at that. His intuition told him that this man wasn't that good of a person, especially on how he talked to Slam. "Ain't you being a little harsh on him, doc?" he jumped in.

"Stay outta this rabbit!" the manager snapped at him but Ace was unfazed by the other man's reaction. "Come on!"

Slam let out a sigh as he got up from his seat and followed his manager down the street. He stopped for a second and looked at Ace with a sincere smile upon his lips. "Thanks…friend," he said to him. Even though it was only their first meeting, there was something warm and sincere about this rabbit and he was glad that he had finally met someone who wasn't afraid of him.

Ace hated that their meeting had been short just as much as he hated how Slam was being treated. Why was it that in the entertainment business, others would be treated cruelly? It was a job…maybe not like any other, but it was something that other did to survive. That was also one of the reasons why he had gone into it in this first place. Maybe after this film was over, he would try something else.

It was only a matter of time…
