Present

"Thalia." Mister Barns spoke up when she took another breath. "We're at a quarter way to five," he informed.

"I'm almost done."

"Okay, so what happened when Thrain showed up?"

Thalia let out a sigh. "After Thrain showed up for the Mid Summer's Eve Party, he and my mother begun to spend time with one another during the remaining two weeks. Eventually they fell in love. Thrain began courting my mother when a year rolled around - claiming my mother as his by braiding a braid in her long brown hair to fall down the right side of her head, clasping the end in a bead carved from wood and painted in the various colors representing a Phoenix. Little fact: Thrain began the braiding tradition that is now carried on by all of the Dwarves."

Mister Barns scribbled across the pad of paper. "What happened after Thrain began courting your mother?"

"Thrain ended up getting my mother pregnant with me, as our family line was nearly extinct, no thanks to the Witches. But their happiness didn't last long. The Witches who killed Thrain's grandfather came to The Shire, having learned my father was in The Shire, and they, well, they killed Thrain right in front of my mother so they could harvest his tear ducts - to use his tears for healing remedies and various potions. Those same Witches turned their sights on my mother, also having learned my father had gotten her pregnant in order to preserve our race and family line. But before they could do anything, Zed and Marthina stepped in front of my mother to protect her while she fled for her life - on Zed's orders. My mother told me when the Witches did kill my father, he burst into fire and became a pile of ash. The fire that had burst forth from my father's body was so strong and powerful, the flames had permanently made a giant black ring where he was killed, killing the lush green grass."

Mister Barns jotted down on the notepad. "Then what happened after?"

"My mother came to America through a portal."

"While being pregnant with you?"

"Yes."

"Anything else?" Mister Barns asked, getting ready to cap his pen.

Thalia shook her head.

When five finally rolled around, Thalia hugged Mister Barns goodbye, tears falling down her face as she smiled at him. A bittersweet goodbye: sweet because she would always remember the good times she shared with Mister Barns while coming to talk to him so she could get help with her problems: but bitter because this was her last session with him.
