Beep…beep…beep

The sound of the heart monitor monotonously beeped, making its way to the ears of the Tasmanian devil. Slam Tasmania groaned as he opened his eyes and found himself sitting in a hospital bed. The last thing he remembered was being inside the wrestling arena, about to win against his opponent when he noticed a bright light streaking past his eyes. He remembered those fluorescent colors and how colorful they looked. He had never seen a, what he considered, 'falling star' like that before. He only heard on how some rare instances people were able to witness something like that. He was glad that he did. However, why did it have to have him wind up in a hospital bed? He was about to get up when he noticed his leg in a cast. He would have remembered getting injured but his that part of his memory was only a blur.

A low grumble escaped his mouth as he adjusted himself and accidentally pressed onto a button on the side of his bed. When he did so, a young nurse walked inside with a tray of medication. "It's good to see that you're awake Mr. Spinner," the young woman smiled as she set the tray of medications by his side.

Mr. Spinner? She may have been referring to him by his stage name. Now that the wrestling arena was destroyed and the fact that his manager fled for his life, The Twisted Spinner was dead. "Slam," he found his voice to say to the nurse, though it wasn't as audible as he thought it would be.

"It is good to see that your survived through that shockwave," the nurse said as she poured him a glass of water. "It was more powerful than predicted."

Did that mean that there were casualties at Acmetropolis? The nurse did need to answer that what Slam noticed a herd of doctors and nurses running down the halls as they transported injured patients to the suites. He couldn't imagine how much damage the town had gone through due to that.

"When I heard that I would be tending to you," she said as he handed him the glass of water and the medication, "it was quite the privilege. My husband is one of your biggest fans."

He hoped that she wouldn't ask him for an autograph, but at least she wasn't the type of person to take one look at him and make a run for it. He mustered a light smile towards the woman as she gave him a warm one in return.

"Now take your medication. I'll help you feel better and if you need anything," she said as she motioned to the button on the side of the bed. "You know where to find me."

"Ugh," Ace Bunny groaned as he slowly lifted himself to a sitting position. He felt the soft texture of the bed and once his vision cleared, he noticed that he was inside a hospital suite with his arm hanging from a sling. His arm ached and he hoped that no bones had been broken in the process. It would take weeks for those to heal and he knew that he wouldn't be able to perform any stunts from it. "What…happened?" he heard himself ask no one and put his hand on his head to soothe the incoming headache that was making its way to his head.

"A meteor has hit Acmetropolis," a voice from the television that was playing in the room answered his question.

Ace's ears perked up when he heard the news reporter.

"Which is quite the strange occurrence considering that we shouldn't have had any of that happening for another three centuries," the male reporter spoke to his co-host that was sitting on the table next to him. "What could be determined with this rare occurrence?"

Ace tried to concentrate on what the reporters were saying, but his eyes hurt so much that he needed to keep them closed. Lying back on the bed, he slowly could feel his body starting to lose itself in the depths of sleep and relaxation. One thing he was glad about was that he was still alive.

"Unfortunately, some citizens who were hit by the shockwave may not have survived. What could be the casualty toll for this?" one of the reporters asked the others.

"Between five hundred and a thousand," the other repeated causing Ace to open his eyes widely.

He was glad that he wasn't part of that statistic. I never want to go through that again he thought to himself.

Duck felt numb. He had awoken not too long ago and was relieved when he found himself in a hospital bed. The blankets provided lots of warmth from the coldness that he felt in the suite. He was able to remember what had happened. That light had been blinding that if he had stared at it for any longer, he thought he was going to lose his ability to see. He remembered being thrown back and into the lifeguard's chair before passing out from the impact. He had always asked for any perks that would come with the job, but this was the type of perk that he didn't ask for!

He couldn't imagine how Acmetropolis looked like after it was hit by that shockwave…and all those people that he remembered being by the pool. Duck turned his head over to the door and noticed doctors and nurses rushing in with patients on the gurneys, some of them who were fighting for their lives and another who had an oxygen mask on her beak.

Duck did a double take as he was able to catch one more glimpse at the patient that was rolled past him. "No," he heard himself whisper when he realized whom it was, "please God, no!"

Lexi Bunny felt a hand stroking her hair as her eyes fluttered open. She laid in a warm hospital bed with an IV fluid needle sticking out of her arm. She flinched when he felt pain on her cheek as she reached over and felt the stitches that were there. Feeling that someone was touching her hair, she lifted her eyes and noticed her mother and father surrounding her.

"Oh, thank you God," her mother said as she grabbed Lexi's hand and gave it a gentle squeeze as her father gentle grabbed her other hand. "Our baby's alright."

Lexi furrowed her eyebrows in confusion. She had been practicing and last thing she remembered was…complete darkness. Had she entered another dimension or had she been living a nightmare all along. "Tyler?" she whispered her brother's name.

Both parents looked up and one another and then down at Lexi. "It'll be alright sweetheart," her father said, knowing that her mind now was not cleared from the impact that she had endured.

The number of bandages that Tech E. Coyote found himself in made him feel like a mummy than a patient. A light whimper escaped his mouth as his vision slowly cleared and he could finally see his hospital suite.

"Tech!" a voice made him jump as he felt a set of arms wrapping tightly against him.

"OW!" he yelped and the arms loosened around him. He couldn't believe it. The last he saw of Quinn, she was on the ground unresponsive. Now she was on her feet with a cast around her arm and her fur ruffled and dirty. "Quinn? You're alive!" he exclaimed as a smile made its way to his mouth.

"I thought the worst for you," Quinn said as she looked at him. "You jumped in front of me and the next thing I know, you're passed out in front of me not even waking up."

"I tried to wake you up," Tech said to her, "but you didn't move." She must have woken up when he had passed out from exhaustion. "I'm sorry," he said the last words he had thought before his eyes closed.

"You didn't do anything wrong," Quinn said to him with a shake of her head. "I'm just glad to see my friend alive!"

And he was glad to be given that chance again.

"Is-he-moving?-Yes-he's-moving!"

Those fast paced enough were enough to let Rev Runner know that his parents had surrounded him. As he was about to get up from the bed to a sitting position, he felt a hand over his head as his mother adjusted him so he could be comfortable.

"Ma, Pa," he said as he looked from one roadrunner to the next. His voice was exhausted as he talked in a normal pace He looked in front of him and saw his younger brother standing here, "Rip. Thank God your guys are okay."

"Of-course-we're-alright-son!" Ralph Runner said, "we're-just-glad-that-you're-alright.-I-can't-believe-that-something-like-this-would-happen-in-Acmetropolis-out-of-all-places-it-had-to-happen-here!"

"Ralph," Harriet spoke up, knowing of her husband's nature, "our-boy-needs-to-rest-we-can-talk-to-him-later."

"No, no," Rev said as he slowly reached up to his parents and put his arms over her their neck and pulled them close to him. "Please don't stop talking."

"Glad to see you're okay, big bro," Rev heard his little brother's voice as he squeezed between his father and the hospital bed and gave Rev a hug.

He was just glad that he could see them and hear their voices again.
