I don't own Loonatics Unleashed

Enjoy!

The next morning, Ace Bunny woke up with a lighter burning sensation in his eyes. He couldn't differentiate whether it was from the lack of sleep that he endured or the strange lasers that he had been able to manifest, without even knowing that he could do something like that. What other surprises was he going to endure today? Other than yesterday's surprises with Slam's mini tornado, he hoped that it wouldn't equate to making the guests of this hotel angry. He was relieved that he and Slam were able to make it out of the restaurant in the nick of time before the managers chased them out. Perhaps it was better to just have breakfast through room service than going down at the buffet.

He dialed the number of room service and a receptionist appeared as a holographic figure and he put in his order of the popular breakfast special with a jug of carrot juice on the side. There was nothing better than starting the day with some Vitamin B and C. After a couple of minutes passed, room service arrived at his door with a set table on wheels and a cloche that covered the plate.

"Ooh fancy," Ace commented when the waiter walked out of the room and left the rabbit all alone. At least the breakfast smelled good but his eyes were on that carrot juice. He poured a glass for himself and then opened the cloche to reveal the breakfast place. His breakfast was right there, but with a letter that rested in front of the plate with his name written on it. Ace titled his head to the side and opened the letter.

Dear Ace Bunny,

You may probably not know who I am, but I know who you are. After the meteor attack upon Acmetropolis, you and five other beings have been gifted with special powers from the shockwave. Unfortunately, I cannot go into detail on the potential danger that Acmetropolis may face in the letter of later years to come but you and the other five beings have been gifted with these powers for a reason. Therefore, I am highly adamant that we all meet at Acmetropolis Tower on the 134th floor at precisely 12:00 PM. All expenses have been taken care of and all that is needed from you is to present yourself to myself and the team. I do hope you take my offer into consideration and I look forward to finally meeting with you.

Sincerely,

Zadavia.

Ace read the letter again and he couldn't believe it. Surely there had to be a reason as to why he was the chosen one to get these types of powers. Everything was for a reason and Ace wondered that could it be, maybe for some strange reason, that fate had seen how much he was struggling and was getting nowhere with his career as a stuntman? The meteor had not only ruined the director's film but also his career and it would be starting over again. Ace felt as if his prayers had been answered through this letter and it was an opportunity that he knew he was going to take. What could be better than saving the world from evil?

It hadn't taken Ace Bunny long to find the Acmetropolis Tower. It was the highest tower in this city and if he just followed the place with his eyes, he would be right in front of it. Without any hesitation, he walked inside the tower and took the elevator on the 134th floor. The doors of the elevator opened and he smiled when he saw two other visitors. A roadrunner and Slam whom he presumed got the same letter as he did.

The roadrunner zipped right over to Ace, leaving a slight trail of fire behind him as he grabbed his hand. "Hi-it's-nice-to-meet-you-I'm-Rev-Runner-and-I-believe-you-got-the-same-letter-as-me-and-The-Twistd-I-mean-Slam-received.-Wow-it's-amazing-that-three-more-of-us-have-gotten-powers-I-wonder-who-the-next-ones-are.-I-wonder-if-it's-going-to-be-one-of-my-friends-that-I-had-met-over-at-the-Quick-Wrap-Sandwich-Shack.-I-still-wonder-how-we-were-chosen-to-have-these-powers-but-stroke-of-luck-I-guess-huh?"

This roadrunner was talking so fast that Ace wondered if he had moment to breathe. When he let go of his hand, Ace mustered a smile at the bird and managed to say, "nice to meet you. I'm Ace Bunny. Guess we'll be working together." He looked over at Slam and gave him a nod of his head, "good to see that you're part of the team Slam."

"Wait-you-two-know-each-other?" Rev asked.

"Of course," Ace said as he made his way over at the circular table, "he and I met weeks ago before the meteor hit. Man, it seems so long ago."

"I-know," Rev spoke up, "I-feel-like-it's-been-a-hundred-years-when-I-last-worked-at-the-Quick-Wrap-Sandwich-Shack."

"Is it still open for business?" an unfamiliar voice said as it made itself in the room.

Ace, Slam, and Rev looked over at whom the voice belonged to. Rev perked up when he noticed Tech E. Coyote making his way towards the table as he surveyed the others that he was going to be working with. He already knew one of them on a personal level, the other he was familiar from his wrestling career, whereas for the rabbit he was not familiar with.

"Tech!" Rev jumped with joy when he saw the coyote. "You're-part-of-the-team-too?"

"That's why I'm here," Tech said good-naturedly to the roadrunner and then proceeded to walk towards the rabbit and the Tasmanian devil. "My name is Tech E. Coyote," he said cordially and shook both Ace's and Slam's hands, "pleasure to meet you."

Ace was taken aback by the kindness displayed from the coyote but he knew he shouldn't be too quick to judge. Perhaps it was those inner rabbit instincts of fighting or flighting when a predator was around. However, Tech didn't display himself as a predator and that was reassuring. "Nice to meet ya, doc," Ace said to him, "the name's Ace."

"Slam," the Tasmanian devil introduced himself and Tech offered him a smile.

The coyote looked around and room and took in all the details. "Wow," he then said, "this woman Zadavia really managed to pay for all the expenses in such a short notice. Are any of your familiar with whom she is?"

"Beats me," Ace answered the coyote. "She introduced herself through the letter that I got back at the hotel. No idea how she looks like or what she even wants with us."

"Well-the-details-are-explained-in-the-letter," Rev spoke up, "something-about-us-being-gifted-with-powers-for-a-reason-and-also-trying-to-save-Acmetropolis-from-evil."

"I wouldn't be that dramatic with it," Tech said, "other than the meteor, who else would want to attack Acmetropolis?"

That was a good point and Ace went into deep thought about it. What resources were there that Acmetropolis could offer to other planets? Or other countries? Only time would reveal. He looked over when he heard the doors of the elevator opening and he blinked when he noticed a familiar rabbit walking inside.

Lexi Bunny walked inside the room with a calm demeanor and a small smile upon her lips. So, she was the fifth out of the six to join the party. She had seen the coyote running down the halls of the university, she had seen the Tasmanian devil wrestling on screen, and she the rabbit who had called her a 'doll,' she had yet to meet the roadrunner.

"Well, well, well," Ace smirked as he folded his arms across his chest and looked at the female rabbit. "Our paths cross again."

"It's a small world after all," Lexi said to him mirroring the same smirk that he had. She held out her hand towards the group. "Hi, my name is Lexi Bunny."

As Tech was about to shake her hand, Rev beat him right to it. "Nice-to-meet-you-my-name-is-Rev-this-is-Tech-Slam-and-Ace-wow!-I-can't-believe-that-we-have-a-girl-on-the-team-I-thought-it-was-going-to-be-all-guys-but-it'll-be-so-much-fun-having-a-girl-on-the-team."

Lexi rose an eyebrow at Rev's words, mostly because she tried to keep up with what he was saying but also the fact that he said something about 'a girl' being on the team. As she was about to reprimand Rev for saying something like that, Ace's words came into her mind. Don't take life too seriously, you'll never get out of it alive. And surely Rev hadn't meant anything ill by it. A small chuckle escaped her lips as she looked at the roadrunner, "thanks Rev. It's a pleasure to start working with all four of you."

The rest of the males smiled at her and took their positions on the round table. Tech looked down at his watched at saw the number of the time change to 11:59 AM. "We have precisely sixty seconds before we have to meet with Zadavia."

Slam let out a grunt and pointed over to the empty chair that was next to him. "Where?" he asked.

The rest of the team exchanged a look and shrugged their shoulders. No one knew who was supposed to be there.

At precisely twelve, a hologram flickered in the middle of the table as the form of a woman with flowing blonde hair appeared. "Good afternoon," she said to the team. "I want to apologize that I cannot physically be there. This is the only way of communication I can have with the six of you."

Ace smiled at the hologram. "If I may jump in," he said, "it seems that we are missing one member."

"Oh?" the woman rose an eyebrow. "I believe we should wait so that he can arrive. I do not want to start our first meeting without the last member present."

"Who-is-the-last-member?" Rev asked her.

"He is one of you," Zadavia cryptically said, "and one who saved me after I was almost attacked by those two men down the alley. I do hope that he won't be too late to the meeting. I don't want to keep you all waiting for long."

As if on cue, the elevator door opened and in walked a duck. He stopped in the middle of the room and looked at the round table where the rest of the team was sitting and the holographic figure that was in the middle of the table. "Started the meeting without me?" he asked as he walked up to the table and took his seat next to the Tasmanian devil. "Sorry for being late…I was busy."

"No harm done," Zadavia said to him, "and I want to personally thank you for your heroic action during that night with those two men. Greatly appreciated…Danger Duck."

Duck blinked when she said that. He couldn't believe that the woman who was in trouble happened to be their…boss…if he were to put it that way. "That's right," Duck proudly said to her, "the one and only."

Zadavia felt that she had to be firm with this one. If she allowed him to have that ego go over his head, then that wouldn't be good for the team. "Now that everyone is here…my name is Zadavia and I am glad to have found the opportunity to meet with all six of you. You may be wondering why I have called specifically the six of you. After the meteor hit, I fear that Earth may be in grave danger."

"Why though?" Tech asked her. "Earth has been victim to many meteorites but nothing this massive before…unless someone from the universe wants to declare war on this planet."

"Exactly," Zadavia agreed. "It is not just a galactic war, but the shockwave that came thereafter may have affected some people for the worst. With the powers that all six of you have been gifted with, can help defend Acmetropolis against all of that."

"The question remains though," Ace spoke up, "who would want to declare war on Earth from outer space?"

"That is a detail for another time," Zadavia said before anyone else from the team proposed another question to her. Even she was trying her hardest to gather as much intel as she could to report to her newly formed team. "I have taken the liberty in ordering specially customized suits for the team. Each of you will find them in your assigned rooms. In the weeks to come, and how many missions there will be, I will make my determination on who will become the leader of the group and the second-in-command. In the meantime, I do hope you take advantage of this opportunity to formally get to know each other." With that said, she gave her team one last smile before finishing with, "Zadavia out."

The six of them remained quiet for a second. Ace tapped his fingers on the table and let out a puff of breath. "Why don't I break this iceberg?" he suggested, "any good movies ya guys have seen lately?"

What a dumb question Duck thought as he leaned back on his chair and looked at the rabbit. Who was able to watch any movies at a time like this? One thing came to his mind though. This new boss lady of theirs was going to make one of them the leader of the team and he hoped that it was going to be him. He got up from his seat and proceeded to walk away from the group.

"Where-you-going?-Don't-you-want-to-mingle-with-us?" Rev asked Duck.

"I don't have time to 'mingle,'" Duck said, "I'm a superhero in training and my room is calling my name to put my powers to good use. I'll catch up with you later."

Well, that wasn't a good impression on the team. Lexi slowly shook her head and rolled her eyes. She didn't know this duck on a personal level but she surely didn't like his attitude.

Duck noticed his name on one of the doors and he walked inside. Within the room, there was bed and empty walls. He was going to have to move all his things from his apartment into here. There was no point in going back in a place where it was empty. He looked at the box that rested on the bed and he opened the lid to see a black suit with an orange triangle. The moment he tried to suit on, he looked at his reflection and admired how heroic he looked. He could get used to this form of lifestyle.

"You-know," Rev spoke to the team, "I-am-curious-to-see-what-suit-I-have-be-back-in-a-jiffy!" And in a jiffy it was. Rev came back sporting a black suit with a red triangle on his chest. "What-do-you-guys-think?" he asked as he showed off his suit to them.

"Red is totally your color," Lexi said as she left to go to her room. After a while, she came back wearing a black suit with a pink triangle on her chest and a green hair tie around her ears. "How did she know that pink is my favorite color?"

Curious to know their colors Ace, Tech, and Slam left the round table and went to their rooms. Ace returned to the team as his suit sported a yellow triangle, Tech with a green triangle, and Slam with a purple triangle.

"Wow," Lexi smiled as she looked from one teammate to another. "Zadavia has good taste!"

"And look," Tech said, "these suits come with a built in telecommunicator and night vision." He looked down at his arm as Rev's image appeared on the screen.

"Hi-Tech!" Rev waved at the screen with a bright smile upon his beak.

This was something else that Ace never thought would happen even in his wildest dreams. "And we gotta think of a team name."

Just then, Duck walked into the living room sporting his new suit. He overheard Ace talking of a team name. "I got one, The Dodgers."

"Sounds good," Ace said as Duck gave him a smirk, "but maybe something that doesn't sound like a football team." He saw Duck's immediate change of emotion from a smile to a scowl.

Lexi tapped her chin with her finger. Names from the video games that she used to play or the movies that she watched always served as an inspiration. She thought of that famous movie that kept playing on theaters with aliens and basketball. Tune Squad, Looney Tunes, Loons (why did that make them sound like they were crazy?), Luna. She was getting a ticking headache just thinking about it. Wait! That's it! she thought. "How about Loonatics?" she suggested.

Duck frowned at the name. "You're calling us crazy there, toots?" he asked her.

Lexi gave the duck a frown whilst Ace thought of the name over and over. "All those in favor, say aye!" he said and raised his hand in the air and caught a glimpse of Lexi's smile. Tech, Rev, Slam, and Lexi raised their hands in the air. "Then Loonatics it is."

With the team name already formed, it was just the training that they needed to perfect. For now, it was better to explore the rest of the tower and continue to mingle with one another.
