I don't own Loonatics Unleashed

A/N: I wanted to point out that I used a meme in this chapter and have been waiting for the moment to use it. Thank you for your reviews thus far!

Enjoy!

News quickly spread through Acmetropolis during the last couple of weeks about the witch's misdeed and the victims that were gone far too soon. Such news had created a melancholic atmosphere in the city, causing some families of the victims to move from the city and situate elsewhere. Lexi couldn't imagine what the families were going through. Even though Lexi didn't get along well with Stacy and her group of cheerleaders, she had never wished anything terrible to happen to her. She couldn't believe how life could be taken away so quickly in the blink of an eye. The hardest was contacting the families of the victims, though that wasn't their job to do.

After this mission, she was glad that they had the last couple of weeks without any missions. It was the waiting that was getting to her. She felt that she could be in the middle of doing something important and she would have to drop everything to do her job. She thought about training but her body told her to stay sitting down on the couch and remain there for the day.

She heard a shuffle of footsteps as she looked up and saw Miranda flopping onto the couch next to her. "I know, I'm bored too," she said as she placed her hands on her face and rested her elbows on her knees.

"Reading minds again Miranda?" Lexi asked her with a smirk upon her lips as she leaned back on the couch.

Miranda shoulders slouched at that comment. "Oh, come on," she said as she looked at the rabbit, "I'm trying my best here." She looked around the lounge area and back at Lexi, "I assume the boys are training."

"I guess," Lexi said with a shrug of her shoulders, "I know that I should do it but I can't motivate myself to do it today. I've been feeling very out of it."

Miranda supported her elbow on the head of the couch and rested her head on her hand. "I get it," she said to her. "Maybe we should get out of HQ for a little bit."

How much Lexi would have wanted that. The only times when she had been able to get out after their last mission was to use the antidote on the trees. Due to Tech's quick thinking, the results about the contents in the antidote bottle had come back, and that it was safe to use. Rev, who was kind enough to take the responsibility, had added a drop of the antidote on the trees that they had planted. That drop of the potion had caused the trees to go back to their original state with no dark magic involved. "Where do you suggest we go?" Lexi asked her.

Miranda remained quiet as she thought about it. There were many places that Acmetropolis offered but what she liked to do was go clubbing. It wasn't due to the atmosphere or the various number of drinks that were offered, it was mostly the music that she could dance to. Ever since she had met Lexi, she had caught her on a couple of occasions with headphones in her ears dancing to the music that she was listening to. A night like this would be perfect to go clubbing. "Meet me at the lounge at six," she said to her. "Put on your best outfit and shoes because we're going to go down to the club."

After Rev had finished his training, he felt more energized than ever. He felt he could do another two hours of training but he needed to conserve some of that energy for something that was less intensive. He could play another round of air hockey with himself but playing it with just one player defeated the fun behind it. It was kind of like Tech playing chess by himself, though the coyote didn't want to admit that the roadrunner had beat him in a couple of games. He gave his arms a stretch and headed out of his room and into the lounge where he found Miranda out of her uniform and into something flashy.

Miranda donned a sequined blue tank top and pants followed by white high heeled shoes. Lexi suddenly walked into the lounge as she wore a pink sleeveless fringe dress. Her bangs were curled as they seductively covered her right eye and stood elegantly with her pink high heeled shoes. "Is this okay?" Rev heard Lexi ask Miranda for an approval of her outfit.

"Wow," Rev spoke up, catching the attention of both girls as they turned around and looked at him. "You-two-are-looking-as-lovely-as-ever!-Where-are-you-going?"

There was Rev being a flatterer with them. Lexi smiled at him before saying, "we're going out to a club that Miranda recommended."

"Want to join us?" Miranda asked Rev.

Rev held an embarrassing smile upon his lips as he nervously put his hand at the back of his head. "I've…never-been-clubbing-before."

Miranda and Lexi looked at each other before looking back at Rev. "You're serious?" Lexi asked him.

"Pa-never-approved-of-it," Rev said to them, "don't-get-me-wrong,-I've-always-wanted-to-go.-What-do-they-do-there?" He couldn't believe that he had asked such a naïve question. It was obvious that people went clubbing to have some fun but he didn't want to seem like he was out of place.

"There's socializing, lots of drinking, and dancing," Miranda said to him. "I'm mostly for the dancing. Gotta practice those hip-hop moves."

Even though Rev had his own misconceptions about clubs, it wouldn't hurt if he tried it out with his friends. Also, what his father didn't know wouldn't hurt him, right? "Let-me-see-what-I-can-find," he said as he zipped right into his room and came back to the lounge.

Lexi looked at him up and down when he came back. He wore a black jacket with a white shirt underneath, black pants, white shoes, and dark sunglasses. "You clean up nice Rev," she said, causing the roadrunner to blush at her comments.

"Ah-it's-something-that-I-learned-from-the-movies," he said. "Ooh-before-we-go-there-can-we-make-a-quick-stop-at-the-bakery-maybe-Michelle-might-want-to-come-along?"

Neither Miranda nor Lexi were too familiar with Michelle, other than what Rev had conversed with them, but it would be a good opportunity to meet a friend of his. "The more the merrier," Miranda said.

"Should we let someone know where we're going?" Lexi asked, suddenly realizing that this was something that they ought to do. She remembered that day when their group was formed that Ace wasn't too happy when Duck had left without leaving a message to where he had disappeared to.

It would have been the professional thing to do but the last couple of weeks had been very quiet. Just one night out was not going to create a crime catastrophe in Acmetropolis. One thing that Miranda feared was that if they were to say where they were going, they wouldn't be allowed to go. It wasn't because of Ace's decision, but Duck's. With his ego, Miranda had also sensed a little bit of jealousy within him. A terrible combination but one that Miranda had found her way to get around it by one punch on the arm to make him shut his beak. "I'm sure they'll be fine," Miranda said to Lexi, "now come on. We'll stop by for Michelle and head down to the club."

Before they left, Rev stopped as he looked down at the electronic notepad on the table. He picked it up and scribbled the message before forwarding it to the team:

Going clubbing with Lexi and Miranda. Will be back later in the night.

~ Rev

When the trio arrived at Michelle's apartment, Rev was surprised that she didn't answer the door. "Maybe-she's-at-the-bakery," he assumed.

Lexi furrowed her brows. "The bakery?" she asked him before realizing what he had meant. "Oh right! The one who gave you those macaroons in the box." She couldn't believe how quickly her team had consumed those.

The trio headed down the stairs and then towards the bakery down the street. The place still needed some refurnishing but it was slowly getting there. When they entered, they noticed Michelle behind the counter and a customer trying one of the desserts. "At-least-she's-getting-some-people-in-here," Rev said to the girls and waited for the customer to be finished.

"Think it through madame and I shall be in contact with you sometime next week. Au revoir," she said as she turned around and headed out the door.

Rev and the girls approached Michelle, who had a pensive look upon her face. She suddenly brightened when she saw Rev and the other two that was unfamiliar with. "Rev!" she smiled brightly and walked around the counter to meet him. "Look-at-you! You-look…charming!"

Even though Michelle wasn't very shy in stating her thoughts, he caught a light blush upon her cheeks when she said that. "Oh-shucks," Rev answered good-naturedly, "I-bet-you-say-that-to-all-the-roadrunners-ha-ha-do-you-wanna-join-me-Lexi-and-Miranda-to-the-club?"

Michelle looked over at the two girls that he was with. "Which one is Lexi and which one is Miranda?" she asked him.

"Lexi would be me," the female rabbit spoke up as she reached over and shook Michelle's hand. "Rev's told us about you."

"And I'm Miranda," the female duck mimicked the same gesture as Lexi did. "A lot might I add."

Michelle peeked over at Rev and gave a shake of her head. "Now-I-know-why-I-get-the-bad-case-of-the-hiccups," she joked. Seeing that the bakery was empty and the last customer of the day had left, she took her set of keys from a hook and escorted the Loonatics out before closing shop. "Give-me-a-quick-second-and-I-will-be-right-back!" She crossed the street and quickly headed into the apartment to change.

Rev looked at his watch and the moment that Michelle arrived, he shook his head. "That-what-not-even-one-second-more-like-twelve-min—whoa!" his eyes opened wide when he looked at the roadrunner in front of him.

Michelle wore a white sequined crop top and a white sequined skirt that matched the glittering shoes that she was wearing. "What?" she asked as she looked down at her outfit. "Something wrong with it?"

Miranda bought his hand under Rev's lower beak and closed it. "You look perfect," she answered, "now let's go before the club closes for the night!"

When the Loonatics arrived at the club, the waiting line was extremely long. "I guess we didn't think this through," Lexi commented as she saw where the line started and where it could end. Most of the people were getting irritated at the number of hours that they had to wait to get inside.

Miranda made a face at the long line of people. "We have an advantage," she said to the group, "we're the Loonatics! The heroes of Acmetropolis. They just must let us in." She proceeded to walk towards the bouncer, who was extremely tall compared to her height but she wasn't going to let that intimidate her. "Excuse us, we're the superheroes of Acmetropolis and would like to get into the club. Specifically, the VIP section."

Whoa Lexi thought. Some of Duck's personality was beginning to rub off on her.

"No it's not," Miranda said as she turned her head and looked at Lexi before turning her attention to the bouncer.

Stop it Miranda. Focus! Lexi glared at the female duck.

The bouncer looked at the duck, two roadrunners, and rabbit before he let out a guffaw. "Superheroes!" he laughed and hugged his sides, "that's rich! The best joke I've heard in all of tonight." He wiped a tear from his eyes from all that laughter before he pointed to the line. "Back of the line like everybody else."

The Loonatics groaned in response to the bouncer's demand. It was going to take forever until the line caught up with them. "Back of the line?" Miranda said as she looked at the people behind them, "it's going to take weeks to get in there. Ain't nobody got time for that!"

"We'll come back another night," Lexi said.

Miranda let out a groan. "But I wanted to go tonight."

"It's not like the club is going to go away," Lexi said to her, "maybe we can try another one in the city."

"We can, if we want to go to the other side," she looked over at the bouncer and smirked, "unless…"

"Absolutely not!" Lexi jumped in, having a feeling on what Miranda was going to do. "We do not use our superpowers on citizens. Even if they don't allow us to get into clubs."

Well, that plan was shot down quickly. "Then we'll sneak in," Miranda suggested.

"How?" Michelle asked her.

Miranda looked over at Rev. "Maybe you can sneak us in."

"Me?" Rev asked and pointed to himself, unsure on what she was saying.

"Yeah," Miranda nodded her head, "you're faster than any of us. When the bouncer in not looking, you can just pull us inside until we're in. Kind of like Duck's teleportation."

"The only problem is that people we'll see who's sneaking inside. It would arise suspicion and we'd get kicked out," Lexi said.

Why must there be a downside to everything? Miranda thought as she placed a hand on her forehead and shook her head. She staggered forward when someone bumped into her. "Hey, watch it!" she snapped as she turned around and looked at who had pushed her.

Having heard that voice being directed towards him, the man turned around and looked over his shoulder. "Excusez-moi Madame Cane."

Miranda blinked and then furrowed her eyebrows at him before looking at the group behind her. "Did he just call me a 'can?'" She turned back around about to give the man a piece of her mind but stopped when she saw him handing the bouncer a wad of cash.

"Monsieur Stoney and Monsieur Bugsy are expecting me tonight, if you would be so kind s'il vous plaît," he said to the bouncer.

With that amount of money presented to him, the bouncer gladly took it and allowed the man inside much to Miranda's displeasure. "Are you kidding me?" she said as she looked over at the group. "Dude got inside just because of money. Hey!" she yelled over to the man but was pulled back by Lexi before she started a commotion.

Lexi pulled Miranda back towards the group. "Okay," she said as she looked at her, "I say we get out of here before you lose your temper."

"Temper? What temper? I am completely fine!" Miranda exclaimed.

Michelle and Rev exchanged a look with another. Even if they were not able to get into the club, the idea of being so close to it was intriguing. "If we're not able to get in tonight," Michelle spoke up, "there is a jazz lounge not too far from here."

Miranda made a face at that. "Jazz? Ew!"

"It's either that or going back to HQ," Lexi said to her, "pick one."

Even if they couldn't get into the club, neither of the Loonatics felt like heading back to HQ. "Fine," Miranda slouched her shoulders, "I guess we'll head over to the jazz lounge."

The jazz lounge turned out to be quite a different experience. The music that was played was soothing and definitely not the type where Miranda could practice her hip-hop moves. She sat by the bar table with Lexi and looked on with unenthusiasm to the patrons that danced. "This is so boring," she said as she leaned her head back and let out a sigh.

Lexi took a sip of her Shirley Temple and didn't make a comment. She didn't mind being in a place like this. It felt like she had entered a time capsule and had wound up in a place of how things used to be. Even the bartenders wore clothing from the 1920s to connect with the aesthetic. She looked at the patrons in front of her and smiled when she saw Rev and Michelle dancing to the music. They looked very happy with one another.

Rev and Michelle looked out of place as they danced within the group of people with the clothes that they wore. At least the owner of the place was kind enough to let them in, even if they didn't have the appropriate dress code. "I've-never-done-something-like-this-before," Rev said, as he tried his best not to step on Michelle's shoes as they danced.

"Same," Michelle answered him, "I've-known-that-this-place-was-around-but-didn't-get-the-chance-to-check-it-out."

"I'm-glad-I-did," Rev said as he held his arm up and she twirled before circling back towards him, "seems-like-not-all-clubs-are-that-bad.-Wonder-what-Pa-will-say-when-he-finds-out-I've-been-to-one." He didn't know why such an idea made him nervous. He was fighting crime and that took priority of anxiety than any nightclubs. "Anyway-I'm-glad-that-my-first-time-is-with-you."

Michelle lowered her head and hid a smile but felt her cheeks heat up from the compliment. "Ouch," she said when he accidentally stepped on her foot and then let out a chuckle. "You-take-a-step-forward-and-I-take-a-step-back-not-the-other-way-around."

"Sorry," Rev sheepishly grinned as they continued to rest of the dance until the music was over.

After an hour or two of dancing, Rev and Michelle disconnected themselves from the dancefloor and joined Lexi and Miranda towards the bar. Lexi smiled when she saw them whilst Miranda had her head in her arms and her back turned at them. "Is-she-okay?" Rev asked.

Lexi looked over at the duck and smirked. "I guess boredom just got to her," Lexi said. "No worries. She'll get up soon enough, right Miranda?"

Not even bothering to lift her head from the table, Miranda gave the group a thumbs up before letting her arm fall back. She moved her head within her arm and turned to look at the group. "Can we go now?" she asked.

Lexi looked over at the clock on the wall. It was almost ten and she was sure that the team was wondering where they had gone off to. "Let's go," she said as she got up from the chair. "We'll drop Michelle back home and head to HQ."

"I-just-want-to-say-thank-you-for-inviting-me-to-come-along-I-had-a-great-time," she said as she looked from Lexi to Miranda and then at Rev. Hopefully we can dance again.

So, Miranda thought as she rose an eyebrow and looked at the female roadrunner. Is that why she wanted to come to this boring jazz lounge. Well…mission accomplished.
