I don't own Loonatics Unleashed

Enjoy!

Quite the strange weather Acmetropolis was having. What went from being a sunny afternoon quickly changed into a windy and stormy weather, enough to tear objects from the ground and into the air. Seeing that this was occurring, the Loonatics mainly Tech, Ace, Slam, Miranda, and Rev immediately charged out of their HQ and went to assist their citizens. The wind was strong enough to lift a car from the ground with its driver and passengers. One of the doors opened as the passenger clung onto the handle. A blue light highlighted around the vehicle as Miranda held it in place so it won't spin around the gust of wind. Her telekinesis had been getting stronger on the objects that she practiced during her training. "Hurry up, Rev," she then said, seeing that her eyes were starting to grow tired for levitating such a heavy object.

As if Rev had been the one to read her mind, he sped through the streets of Acmetropolis and over to the car that she was levitating. "Excuse-me-pardon-me-zooming-right-through!" Rev said to the people that he sped past. Thrusting his arms in the air, he flew towards the passenger and grabbed her by the waist and then held onto the driver before placing back on the ground to safety.

Once the people were accounted for, Miranda removed her eyes from the car and let the strong wind do its damage. The driver gasped and looked at his vehicle with remorse, "my car."

"Be-thankful-for-your-neck," Rev said to him as he and Miranda went back to the group that was on top of a building where a satellite dish was giving trouble with transmitting the shows that they wanted to see.

On top of a building, Slam lifted a satellite dish that had come loose and was threatening to fall onto the ground. He held the dish in his grip and put it back in its rightful place. Ace looked at the satellite dish that Slam had placed and used his laser beams to glue the pieces together. "There we go," Ace said, "that ought to keep Duck from complaining. Was there any trouble down there?" he asked as he looked at Rev and Miranda, "the winds were quite strong."

"Just-the-usual-car-being-lifted-off-the-ground-but-the-driver-and-passengers-are-safe!" he said as he held a thumbs up.

Once the satellite transmitted the show back to HQ, Duck opened the hatch of the ceiling pushing Slam off the building. "Thanks a lot, Slam. Just in time for me to miss my favorite TV personality of all time—Misty Breeze."

"Duck!" Ace and Tech yelled as they ran to the edge of the building where Slam had been pushed off.

They looked down, only to see Rev bringing up both Slam and Lexi onto the top of the building. "I break more nails picking up after you guys!" Lexi complained who had caught Slam before he contacted the ground.

Slam jumped off Rev and yelled at Duck. "Such language," Duck said and teleported away from the Tasmanian devil to get his own space before Slam continued with this anger towards the duck.

A scream came from the skies as the Loonatics looked up to see a familiar TV personality figure hanging from the satellite dish. Duck gasped when he recognized whom this woman was. "Misty Breeze!" he dreamily said her name.

Miranda raised an eyebrow at Misty Breeze before looking over at Duck. Just great, a superhero acting like a little schoolboy with a crush. She looked back at Misty when she yelled at them, "don't just stand there, you dolt! Get me out of here!" her grip loosened on the satellite dish as she flew towards Duck's arms.

"I'm your biggest fan!" Duck gushed over her, "Danger Duck at your service, Hot Stuff."

Hot Stuff?! Excuse me?! Miranda thought as she glared at the scene that was unfolding in front of her. No, now was not the time to be jealous of this so-called celebrity who had charisma that was equivalent to a crocodile. She watched as Misty was placed back on the ground and she thanked Duck, before warning him not to get too close to her.

Ugh, saved by a duck. Can't believe this is where my career is going! Miranda smirked as she picked up Misty's thoughts on the matter, knowing that even on the inside she didn't have such a kind personality either.

Once the woman had been saved, the Loonatics grouped together on the jetpacks as they tried to pick up clues on what could happened with the weather. It was something out of the ordinary that not even Mother Nature herself could have done. "Misty and her crew were broadcasting from the City Hall Plaza."

"I just don't get it," Duck suddenly spoke up, "who would ever want to harm the lovely Misty Breeze?"

"Anybody who's ever met her," Lexi answered him, knowing of the woman's brash personality.

"Jealous?" Duck asked as he looked at Lexi.

Miranda shook her head. "Misty Breeze is old news," she spoke up and concealed her laughter when she heard Duck's thoughts on her comment, "now Tony Grebe. That man is something."

Duck gave Miranda a slight glare. "What's so special about him?" he asked her.

"What's so special about Misty Breeze?" she challenged him.

"Are you kidding?" Duck asked as he directed his jetpack over to Miranda and got between her and Lexi. "She's the best weathergirl there is! When she says it rains, it rains. When it's sunny, she means it."

Playfully, she rose an eyebrow at him. "You don't say. Well, she doesn't have the greatest acting capability like Tony Grebe does. That's why he's crowned the King of Acmewood and has his own star on the Walk of Fame. Your girl Misty, she has a lot to live up to."

Lexi looked as the two ducks bickered back and forth, trying her hardest not to laugh and placed an input. She agreed with Miranda that Tony Grebe was one of the greatest actors that graced the theaters of Acmetropolis. "Doesn't he have an epic romance coming out next month?" Lexi chirped up, "Away with the Breeze?"

"Oh yeah," Miranda nodded her head, "can't wait to see it! Just me and Tony Grebe."

There was no reaction that came out of Duck the moment she said that, and she hoped that her message had gotten through to him. She didn't have time to investigate too much in the matter for Zadavia's image came up on the screens, "Loonatics, we're receiving reports that a strange weather phenomenon is materializing all over the planet."

"Say Zadavia," Ace spoke up, "isn't monitoring the weather more of a job for—"

"Misty Breeze?" Duck interrupted.

"Not this kind of weather," Zadavia shook her head at them, "you better move fast Loonatics. Zadavia out."

The Loonatics flew down the city, and it wasn't too long when they approached the City Hall Plaza. Slam picked up the broadcasting van and a crewman fell outside and onto the ground. "Sorry," Slam mumbled towards the crewman, who seemed to be in a daze after what had happened to him.

The rest of the Loonatics gathered around him, trying to hear the incoherent words that he was saying. "Paula…Assistant…The script…Misty…Wet hair…Crazy weather…ha, ha, ha! Storm. Misty gone!"

Ace looked over at Miranda, who used her telepathy to read the crewman's mind but even his mind was as scrambled as his words. "Hey uh, I'm gonna need some more words there, pal. Got any verbs?"

Lexi looked from the crewman and up in the sky as she noticed something suspicious. "Here's one. Look!" she pointed up.

The Loonatics looked up as they saw a strange looking woman floating inside a glowing orb. "No stealing my thunder, Loonatics! Back off!" she commanded and threw her arms in the air, causing more lightning to tear through the clouds.

"That's her!" the crewman said as he looked up at the woman.

Moving her arms in a summoning fashion, a series of clouds appeared in front of the Loonatics, taking the forms of embodied creatures as they surrounded the Loonatics. "Amazing!" Ace said, "was this in the forecast."

However, Duck was not at all impressed with these Cloud Creatures. "Ooh scary clouds," he teased, "what? You gonna stop us from getting a tan?" The moment he said that an arm reached out a tightly grabbed Duck. "Maybe stop us from breathing!"

"Hey!" Miranda scowled towards the Cloud Creature as her eyes turned blue and her telekinesis kicked in. She tore a lamppost from the ground and headed straight towards the Cloud Creature, hitting it directly in the chest. "Hands off my duck!" The cloud disappeared, causing Duck to plummet on the pavement. The Loonatics closed in on them as they faced against the clouds.

"Okay chief," Tech said to Ace, "what's the plan?"

"We kick some clouds!" Ace said as he took initiative and jumped in the air, kicking on the clouds in the face. He was grabbed by the leg only for Slam to jump towards the cloud and bite a portion of the arm, causing the rabbit to fall on the pavement. Slam was then attacked by a group of clouds heading towards him.

Rev was busy trying to distract a Cloud Creature by running around it in a circle but he didn't see the fist that hit the ground. The ground vibrated under his feet as he was lifted off his feet and throw a couple of feet to the ground.

Duck looked at the Cloud Creature that had attacked Rev and he held up a powered orb towards him. "Here's a present for you! Via duck mail!" he said as he spun his arm in the air and threw it at the Cloud Creature.

Suddenly, there was a sudden halt in the fighting as fog appeared in front of the Loonatics. Lexi stopped her fighting and looked in all directions for the Cloud Creature that she had been fighting. She suddenly felt something bump into her, causing her to lose her balance, but she quickly regained balance and jumped away from the Cloud Creature. "There you are," she said as she got into a fighting stance.

Ace was caught by another Cloud Creature. He struggled to get out and in the end, used her laser beams to hit it. He loosened himself from the Cloud Creature and his lasers accidentally hit Tech's tail as the coyote howled in pain. "Oops!" Ace said, "very sorry there, Tech!"

Just then, Rev sped over to Ace. "Ace-my-internal-radar-can't-distinguish-between-what's-a-creature-and-a-plain-old-fog.-And-it's-getting-pretty-hard-to-avoid-the-gri—ack!" he couldn't finish his words for another Cloud Creature grabbed him.

Ace turned around and looked at Slam. "What do you say we help him out, Slam?"

Slam was pinned to the ground by a Cloud Creature but no matter what, he was willing to help a teammate in any way that he could. He spun into a mini cyclone and kicked the cloud away from him, Ace, and Rev.

"Slam one, cloud none," Ace counted off with a smirk upon his lips.

A shriek was heard from the skies as the fog grew dense and more Cloud Creatures chased after the Loonatics. Lexi flipped away from one of them before she spotted a fire hydrant right in front of her. Using her brain blast, the fire hydrant exploded in front of the Cloud Creature as it absorbed all the water and it the Cloud Creature expanded in size. "Clouds absorb water," she said and looked at Ace who had walked close to her, "and to think I only got a B in science."

"That's great Lexi but do you really want to make them bigger?" he asked as he looked up at the expanding cloud. The moment that the cloud got too big, it exploded and disappeared leaving nothing but rain.

Suddenly, Rev zoomed in between Lexi and Ace. "Ooh-I-wanna-try-that-I-wanna-try-that-I-wanna-try-that-here-I-go!" he ran towards the water fountain and kicked the water right towards the Cloud Creature, getting the same result as Lexi did.

Ace ran over to the water fountain statue and shot his laser beams at it as a geyser of water headed straight for the cloud creature.

Miranda set her eyes towards a fire hydrant but her focus was stolen from her when a Cloud Creature grabbed her. Duck ran towards her and held a power orb in his hand, "please be a water egg. Waiting for a water egg!" he jumped towards the Cloud Creature and slammed the power orb inside its mouth and grabbed onto Miranda. The cloud exploded, releasing an orange substance that tasted like orange juice, which was good enough for Duck.

"Pesky ducks!" the woman yelled as she shot lightning towards them, causing both Miranda and Duck to fly in the air. Duck landed in Slam's arms as Tech got a hold of Miranda.

"You may have won this round Loonatics, but I'm the star here!" she yelled as a crewman ran over to her and she pointed at him. "Keep that camera pointed at me! I've got breaking news. Hear me, Acmetropolis! I am Weathervane and tonight there is a hundred percent chance of destruction!" she threw her arms in the air as thunder exploded from the sky. She directed the thunder towards the Loonatics in any direction that she could, but they were too quick for the thunder to get to them. Out of all of that, she took great pleasure into playing with the superheroes with her newly gained powers. "Here's a news flash for you Loonatics, and it's a real shock!"

As the lightning was headed towards the fatigued Loonatics, Tech quickly pushed a button on his jetpack and a lightning rod came out and was hit by the lightning. He may have saved his team from getting hit by the lightning, but he got electrocuted in the process and it resulted in him turning into a pile of dust.

"Nice lighting rod Tech," Ace said to him, "that's definitely going to earn you some vacation time."

Tech fully regenerated in front of the team. "Can I take that vacation now?" he asked, feeling the pain in the aftermath of getting electrocuted.

"Let me think about it," Ace said, "yes, no, yes—no!"

"All the elements are at my command," Weathervane stated to the Loonatics, "I don't need to report the story. I am the story!" she turned her attention over to the cameraman, "make sure you get this. It'll make everyone forget about Misty Breeze."

Miranda folded her arms across her chest and raised an eyebrow. "Wow, drama queen much?"

"Forget about Misty Breeze?" Duck jumped in her defense, "why I'd sooner forget what's-her-name-here."

Not liking that comment coming from the duck, Weathervane raised her arms once again and hurled a strong gust of wind towards them. "Time for you to be gone with the wind!" she yelled.

A small cyclone wrapped around the Loonatics as it got bigger and held them up in the skies, rapidly twisting them in the air. Ace grabbed onto a lamp post as the cyclone spun away from him. Slam detached himself from the cyclone and slammed into a wall, and Duck grabbed Miranda's arm and teleported out of the cyclone and into a television screen. He teleported her and himself out of the television set and back into the city.

"You're on Slam," Ace said to the Tasmanian devil as he spun into mini cyclone and made his way towards the tornado.

Ace heard Lexi calling for him and he held out a hook towards her, grabbing her by the legs and pulling her back onto the ground. He flinched when Lexi's body contacted the ground but she came out without a scratch.

"Thanks," she thanked him.

Tech grabbed onto Rev and held out a hook towards a wall as it latched onto it. He pulled himself and Rev out of the tornado and joined the team as they all looked over at Slam. Slam fought against the tornado as much as he could. He couldn't give up now, no matter how tired he grew from fighting against it. Giving the tornado one last punch against it, the tornado disappeared into the air and he heard the cheering from the citizens that was coming from inside the buildings.

The celebration didn't last for too long as Weathervane grew irritated with the Loonatics. She unleashed all her elements towards the city and attacked a bridge where a train was passing by. The Loonatics quickly flew towards the bridge. "Come on gang, let's get that on the monorail!" Ace said to the team, "Miranda, can you levitate the part that's hanging off!"

Miranda flew close to the train and trained her eyes onto it. "Ugh," she groaned, seeing that it was too heavy of an object to levitate. "Come on," she said as she could see a faint blue highlight around part of the hanging end of the train.

"Slam, jump in!" Ace said, seeing that Miranda was having a bit of a hard time with it.

Slam cyclone-d from underneath the train and bought it back on the monorail as Tech used his magnekenisis to help Slam. Ace used his laser vision and Lexi used her brain blast towards part of the bridge that had been destroyed. Slam placed the train back on the monorail and used as much of his strength to stop it from accelerating down the trail. Once the train came to a full stop, the Loonatics headed back towards where Weathervane was.

"We gotta box her in," Ace instructed the team, "one of us from each side, go!" Using their jetpacks, the Loonatics flew at the top of the building and were surprised when they didn't see Weathervane but the cameraman that had been with her. "Where'd she go?" Ace asked him.

"I don't know," the cameraman answered him, "she just flew up and vanished!"

Wherever she was going, Ace knew that she was going to be up to no good. There was only one Loonatic on the team who would be able to track her down. Ace flew towards Rev, "hey Rev! Does your radar show anybody else in danger?"

Peeking into his internal GPS, Rev said, "well-a-lot-of-wet-people-but-nobody-in-danger," he said to him.

"We should evacuate the area," Ace said.

"The whole area?" Lexi asked, "why?"

"I got a feeling something big is coming," Ace answered her, and if he was true to himself, his intuition at times had been right about these sorts of things.

In the back of Slam's jetpack, Zadavia's hologram appeared as she looked at her team. "Suspicions confirmed Ace," she spoke up, "there's an unnatural energy force brewing with intensity thirty-five miles off the Acmetropolis coast. All efforts to contain Weathervane have failed."

There just had to be a way to defeat this woman before her floods became a tsunami for Acmetropolis. The rain kept getting heavier but it wasn't enough to stop the Loonatics on their mission. "With all this water, we could sure use a duck," Lexi said.

"For whatever reason?" Miranda asked as she flew next to Lexi, hoping that she was making a joke out of what she had said.

Ace glanced over at Miranda. "Wait, where is Duck?" he asked her.

Miranda looked behind her only to see nothing but dark sky and rain. She clutched tightly onto her jetpack as a sudden worry flooded over her. Her intuition told her where Duck had gone off too, especially since he claimed to be Misty Breeze's number one fan. She let out a sigh and facepalmed. "He's going to get himself killed out there!"

Ace looked over at Rev. "Can you track him down?"

Rev looked within his GPS system until he spotted Duck and strange looking cloud that was forming in the sky. "Got-him-locked-in-straight-ahead!" he said as the team put as much acceleration as they could in the jetpacks and headed towards the Duck.

Once they got there, they found Duck and a dragon-like creature in the sky. "Duck, where's Weathervane?" Ace asked as his eyes bounced over to the dragon, "I hope that's not her!"

The dragon reared back her head and a flash of lighting escaped her mouth towards the Loonatics. The Loonatics flew out of the way, giving an exit for the dragon to fly towards Acmetropolis. The Loonatics followed Weathervane as they saw her destroying everything that got in her way. A flash of lighting struck out her mouth as she hit a tower on top of the building and bought it down towards the citizens. Miranda's eyes levitated the tower and Tech used his powers to bend the mental of the tower and send it back to Weathervane, only for her to destroy it into a mini cyclone cloud.

Ace watched from afar from anything that they could do to use against Weathervane. It seemed that she was undefeatable but they had been against tougher villains than her. "A busted fire hydrant is not going to stop her," he heard Lexi say as she flew next to him.

"Hey Tech," Ace said to the coyote, "you wouldn't happen to have a very big hair dryer would you?"

"If you're thinking of evaporating that thing, it would take a hair dryer about a mile wide," Tech answered him.

"Nah," Ace shook his head, "Rey, any idea where we can find the hottest spot within a hundred miles?"

Rev internal GPS immediately got into position as it quickly found the spot within a hundred-mile radius. "Oh-baby-do-I-have-a-fiery-hotspot-for-you-guys!-This-is-going-ti-burn-your-hair-off-if-you-get-too-close!-Man-this-place-is-sssssssscorchin'!"

"Got it!" Tech jumped in, "we just need some bait."

Everyone suddenly turned their attention over to Duck. "Why is everybody looking at me? Let me guess…me again."

"If you don't want to do it, I'll do it," Miranda offered.

The thought of going up against a dragon was something that Duck didn't want to do, but to have Miranda go against her was something that he was against. "Absolutely not," he said, "you're not Misty Breeze's number one fan. I am. Therefore, I should be the one to go." I hope she fell for that trick. I can't lose her against that…that beast! he thought.

Miranda was about to answer him but Ace beat her right to it. "Then it's settled," he said before a disagreement broke out between them. "Let's jet team!"

After a while Slam, Lexi, Ace, Tech, and Miranda flew towards a small remote volcanic island. Duck and Rev had gotten themselves into position and were luring Weathervane towards the island. "Is this going to work?" Ace asked Tech on his telecommunicator who was driving inside a Portalab.

"If the lava depth charge is in sync with the targeting mechanism, it should be enough to combust—" Tech was explaining only to get interrupted by Ace.

"English Tech!" Ace said to the coyote.

"Yeah, it should go boom," Tech quickly answered him, though he didn't appreciate the fact that he was interrupted as he was trying to explain his ingenuine plan.

The Loonatics and the Portalab landed onto the island. "So that'll activate the volcano?" Ace asked Tech.

"Your guess is as good as mine," he said as he opened the hatch of the Portalab and jumped out with a small device that he had created. "It's show time. Slam can withstand the heat better than any of us." He looked at the Tasmanian devil and gave him a nod of his head, "take this up there and when I say 'now' push this red button and throw it into the volcano," he demonstrated. "Got that? Now."

Upon hearing those directions, Slam nodded his head and went ahead and pressed the button.

"No! Not 'now' now, 'now' later!" Tech panicked.

Slam reached over to stop the countdown but he accidentally pulled out the red button and the countdown continued.

"Just get up in there," Ace said to the Tasmanian devil, "now!"

Slam picked up the device and made his way up the volcano as quickly as he could. At the same time, Rev and Duck were leading the dragon towards the island. Slam threw the device inside the volcano the same moment that Duck and Rev arrived at the top. The dragon got closer to Duck and he gave her one last glare before teleporting away from her.

The dragon floated in front of the volcano, trying to see where the duck had disappeared. Before she knew it, the volcano exploded straight through her, sending a magnetic force towards the Loonatics, as lava erupted from the volcano. The dragon dismantled and disappeared within the sky as the Loonatics headed back to Acmetropolis.

Lexi ears picked up a familiar noise as she alerted the team, "I'm picking up Zadavia's signal!" she said as the Loonatics landed in front of a weather van and looked at the screen.

Zadavia's hologram appeared on the screen as she looked at the Loonatics. "There are no traces left of the storm dragon," she said, "but what happened to Weathervane remains a mystery. We can only assume she escaped. Good job Loonatics. Zadavia—"

The woman didn't have the chance to answer for Misty Breeze came out of the vehicle and shut off the screen. "Who's this?" she demanded, "I'm the only pretty face on this channel."

"Here's your girl, Duck," Miranda smirked as he noticed the lovestruck expression on her boyfriend's face.

"Misty!" he dreamily said, "this is my chance!"

Miranda watched as Duck hurried over to the weathergirl, interrupting her broadcast, and asking her to autograph a couple of his things. Then to everyone's surprise, a large truck that had more of Misty Breeze merchandise dumped onto both of them. Misty let out a shriek as she was covered in all of them.

"So," Lexi said as she walked towards Miranda, "you're fine with Duck drooling over this girl?"

Miranda chuckled. "Of course," she said to Lexi, "just like he'll be fine with my drooling over Tony Grebe. I have my ways of getting into his nerves."

Ace smirked when she said that. He couldn't help but think that some of his mischief may have rubbed off onto her and even the rest of his teammates. "Then I suggest we leave these two lovebirds alone and find Tony Grebe. What do you say?" he asked her.

Miranda jumped and threw her fist in the air. "TONY GREBE HERE I COME!" she intentionally shouted.

Upon hearing that name, Duck looked up from the pile of merchandise and over to Miranda who was walking away with the Loonatics. "Don't go anywhere, I'll be back," he said to Misty as he teleported out of the pile and in front of Miranda.

Miranda halted in her steps and smirked when Duck appeared in front of her.

"And just where are you going?" he asked her with his hands on his hips.

Miranda looked at her surroundings. "I think this is where Tony Grebe lives. Right up there on the penthouse of the hotel. Can you please teleport me up there?" she asked as she batted her eyelashes at Duck, "I will be grateful!"

"The only place where you'll be teleporting is HQ," Duck said as he grabbed a hold of her hand and teleported out of the city.

It was a reaction that Miranda hadn't expected. So, he could he the jealous one and she couldn't? However, the only positivity that came out of this was that he was away from Misty Breeze.

Having observed the whole scene in front of him, Ace looked at his teammates. "Eh, I guess we should let them figure it out on their own," he said, thinking that there was going to be some pointless drama happening at HQ. "Who's up for some ice cream? It's on me!"

Nobody could say 'no' to that.
