I don't own Loonatics Unleashed

A/N: I was inspired by the last two reviews; Miranda training on her temper and Duck's thoughts about her suspension. Thank you acosta perez jose ramiro for your suggestion as well as your wonderful reviews!

Enjoy!

Th next couple of days proved to be quiet. During that time, Ace thought that it was necessary to help Miranda with her temperament. As much as he respected Zadavia's decision, he didn't want Miranda to hold any resentment towards their boss or the team. It was not a healthy relationship and he knew that it was not going to end well for Miranda. He didn't know if she had told Duck about what had happened with her status on the team, but he wasn't looking forward to finding out about that. His training mostly consisted of breathing exercises and brining up scenarios and watch her reaction on them and how she would get out of them, in a more respected-heroic fashion. Thus far, she hadn't shown any anger issues but Ace wasn't convinced that she had achieved that 'inner peace' yet. "How do you feel?" he asked her.

Her muscles were relaxed and her mind was at ease but would this last if they were to face the same situation as they did before? She thought of the other villains that they had faced before. Gunnar, Fuz-Zs, Black Velvet, Weathervane, Dare, the Ringmaster with Otto, and Massive. Nothing. She didn't feel any anger towards them. However, with this woman that they had faced those days ago, there was a feeling that bubbled up inside her and made her want to explode.

Ace looked at her body language as he saw her hands tightening into a fist. She had been doing so well up until now. "Come on Miranda," he said as he looked at her, "you can do this. Block her from your mind and focus on being the hero that you are."

She didn't feel heroic. Sure, she had been part of the missions and tried her best but she felt that her powers weren't as up to par as all the others. Levitating objects and reading other people's minds? What a terrible combination of powers. However, Zadavia felt that she had some potential, which was why she was chosen for the team…only to get suspended thereafter. "I can't," Miranda answered him with a sigh. "Whenever she comes to my mind…" she shook her head and released fist, "I feel nothing but hatred for her."

Then there was a lot of work that needed to be done. Ace was willing to continue the training with her, but he had booked some seats for a Basherball tournament at the World Dome. "I think that's enough training for today," he said as he got up from the floor and helped her up to her feet, "but you gotta work harder on controlling yourself. I don't want to see you losing your spot on this team."

Miranda was touched that Ace cared for her, as he did for all his team members. She knew that this was something that she needed to work on, but it was a deeper issue that she wanted to discover. She didn't know whether it was for the love that she held for Duck or the thought of losing him. During those weeks after she had come out of her coma, she had imagined how things would have been if her body had given up. Those thoughts had put her mind in a dark place and she had made a promise to herself that nothing was going to get in her way from being with Duck. Could this have been the reason why she had snapped? She just didn't know. "Thank you," she said to Ace with a nod of her head, "I don't want to either."

That was a bit reassuring to Ace. At least she was willing to change for the better of the team…and herself. However, the rest of the training was going to have to wait for he and Rev had a game that they needed to catch.

While the rest of the team waited for Ace and Rev to get back from the match, the remainder of the team kept themselves busy with training. Having a peaceful lounging area was just what Miranda needed to clear her mind. Every day, her mind replayed the same situation and it only filled her with more rage to the point where she found herself getting exhausted. Why was this so hard to do? She had to keep trying at least.

Try to think of anything but her she thought to herself and gently closed her eyes. She thought of something that would make her happy. Maybe thinking about the future that she was going to have. Even though it made her nervous, it also made her feel elated. A future where they were going to be married in the end, fighting crime, who knows about that part, and maybe lots of little ducklings. She felt herself finding some ease at least but then flinched when she felt a pair of hands on her shoulders.

"Aren't you a little jumpy," Duck commented as he walked around the couch and took a seat next to her. "How's it going?" he asked her.

He had no idea what Miranda had tried to do to that catwoman and neither did he know about her suspension…and she was not planning on telling him anytime soon. "As good as it can," she asked him, "how are you doing? Are you okay?" she asked him.

"All healed," he said to her and showed her his arms where the bandages had been taken off. He wished he had Tech's regeneration abilities so he could heal faster. Feeling those sharp pains on his body made him feel helpless. "And now I can do this as much as I want," he said as he gathered Miranda in his arms and hugged her tightly.

She didn't expect such a tight hug, but she appreciated it. "Can't…breathe!" she joked and let out an exasperated exhale when he let her go.

Just then, the elevator doors opened and Ace and Rev walked into the lounge. "Ugh," Ace said as he placed his hand over his head, "I feel like I need to lie down."

"Me too," Rev said as he walked towards the sofa and plummeted face first into a pillow.

Duck raised an eyebrow at his teammates. "What happened to you two?" he asked, "and why is Rev talking normally?"

Ace shook his head at the duck. "Don't know," he said, "we started feeling like this way before we left the World Dome."

Rev lifted his face from the pillow and settled in a sitting position. "I think we need to go and see Tech about this. He'd know what to do."

As he got up from his seat, he looked up at saw Lexi and Slam joining them at the lounge. "Oh, you guys are already back?" Lexi smiled at her teammates and then frowned when she saw how tired they looked. "You guys don't look so good. What happened?"

"Rev suggested that we go and see Tech about this," Ace said as he groggily headed towards Tech's laboratory with Rev following him.

Curious to know what was happening with their teammates, the rest of the group followed Ace and Rev as they entered Tech's laboratory. As usual, Tech was busy preparing another useful device for the team but when he saw a sudden change in Ace and Rev, he immediately become concerned for them. At first, he assumed that they were sick but when Rev told him that he had lost his ability to fly and that his voice was normal, along with Ace's inability to shoot laser beams from his eyes, he couldn't immediately pinpoint the reasons behind it. To check on Rev's speed, he set up a treadmill and to test Ace's laser vision, he set up a tower of bricks for him.

"Okay Rev," Tech said as he faced the roadrunner, "start sprinting. This machine will measure your steps per hour."

As Rev increased his speed, he felt himself starting to get tired and his legs beginning to cramp. "That's as fast as I can go," he said, feeling out of breath, "and I'm cramping now…and pain!" he let his feet slip from the treadmill and was thrown off the machine and to the floor.

Tech took down the number that was displayed on the machine. "Well Rev," he said, "the good news is that the machine is working. The bad news is, you're not."

Ace peeked over at the number that Rev had gotten. "Thirty-six miles per hour?"

"Actually, eighteen," Tech said, "I doubled it to be nice." He walked across the room and rolled over the stack of bricks and directed them towards Ace. "Shoot your power peepers at these Ace."

Ace looked at the stack of bricks. He had found out prior that he wasn't able to shoot his laser vision at anything but it wouldn't hurt to try it again. He focused his eyes on the bricks and used as much of his strength to shoot the laser beams. His eyes were starting to grow tired and before he knew it, Slam walked up to the bricks and crushed them with a simple pound of his fist. "Thanks Slam," he smiled to his teammate, "I was starting to get a headache."

"I'm afraid there's no denying it, Ace," Tech spoke up, "both you and Rev are no longer in possession of your superpowers."

"Yeah but check this out," Ace said as he performed a few martial arts moves in the same fashion that he did before he lost his powers. "You can take away my superpowers but you can't take away my moves."

"Exactly!" Tech said, "you've still got the moves that you had before you got your superpowers and Rev can still run like a normal roadrunner. Whatever did this must not have affected your natural abilities."

Both Rev and Ace were dismayed when Tech said that. Even if their superpowers were gone, how were they going to manage fighting against supervillains? "Who needs superpowers anyway?" Ace said, trying to brighten up the mood, "right, Rev?" He only received a slight nod from the roadrunner, which was not enough to convince Ace that he agreed with him.

"You know," Duck said as he slid towards Ace, "last time I checked, superheroes need superpowers. You guys were the best of us, but until you're better, I think it's time for a new leader."

Ace fought the urge to roll his eyes when Duck said that. Why did he have the feeling that he was going to use this to his advantage?

"That's an excellent idea, Duck," came Zadavia's voice from the hologram as she appeared in front of the team.

"It is?" Duck asked her, caught off by surprise that his boss would agree with something on him.

Zadavia didn't answer Duck's question and looked at Ace. "Ace, until we can figure out what happened to your enhanced abilities, you shouldn't be out on the field and neither should Rev. Your replacement would have to be smart, courageous, cool under pressure, and have excellent leadership skills, not to mention a dazzling smile. There is only one clear choice."

Duck was hoping for his chance to come. Now would be a perfect opportunity to show Zadavia of what he could do and perhaps she would think differently of him.

"Lexi," Zadavia said as the female rabbit perked up with a smile when her name was called, "I'm counting on you."

"All over it, boss," Lexi smiled as she held a thumbs up at Zadavia.

"And you'll have to be fast," Zadavia said as the screen changed from her hologram into a scene that was taking place at the Acmetropolis reservoir. "I just received report that the dam from the central Acmetropolis reservoir is about to burst. Billions of gallons of water will rush down the river and flood this campground full of tourists. There's no time to evacuate. Lexi, take Slam and Duck. Good luck, Zadavia out."

Lexi tilted her head when Zadavia's hologram disappeared. Zadavia had mentioned Slam and Duck only. She assumed that Tech was going to stay after to make sure that Rev and Ace were doing fine, but what about Miranda? She didn't linger much into these thoughts because the longer that she did, the more that dam had the risk of bursting and flooding those tourists. She turned around and looked at Slam and Duck with a determined look on her face. "You heard her. Let's jet!" she and Slam took off whilst Duck angrily followed them.

"I have a dazzling smile," he mumbled.

Miranda was glad that none of them questioned the reasons of her staying behind. At least she had an excuse to be taking care of Rev and Ace in case it was needed.

Tech let out a sigh and placed the clipboard on the table. Even though he didn't know what would have been the cause of this, he understood the frustration that Ace and Rev felt. These superpowers that they had been gifted with had become part of their identity and losing them was like losing their meaning of whom they were. "Guys," he said as he looked at Ace and Rev, "the only thing I can suggest, once we figure out what's going on, is to just rest."

Ace leaned against the wall and placed his hands on his knees. He had been feeling tired the moment he felt himself feeling drained from whatever it was that took his powers. "We'll be over by the lounge area. Come on Rev," he said as the roadrunner went ahead and followed him.

Miranda watched as her teammates headed out and she stayed glued in her spot. She wondered too what could have happened. Ace was doing fine before he left for that Basherball game and now, he was extremely different.

"Didn't want to join the group?" she looked over when Tech asked her that question.

Oh geeze Miranda thought. "I thought I'd stay and take care of Rev and Ace," she said to him as she slightly turned her head and made it seem like they were calling her name. "And I think I should go ahead and see what they want. See you later Tech!"

Tech raised an eyebrow at her sudden parting. He didn't need super hearing to hear if Rev or Ace were calling for her name. After all, the lounging area wasn't too far from his laboratory.

Ace had been lying on the couch as Rev sat on the other side, flipping through television channels to distract himself from all of this. Miranda had proven to be helpful as she gave them snacks and something to drink, just so they at least had some form of energy. Tech eventually joined them to the lounge and they waited for Lexi, Slam, and Duck to come back from their mission. Ace didn't know how much time passed when Slam, Lexi, and Duck arrived. He got up from his seat when he noticed that exhausted looks on Slam's and Lexi's faces. Oh no he thought as he headed over to them. "Guys what happened?" he asked as he looked at the trio.

The three of them gathered in the lounge area. It was strange that only Slam and Lexi were affected and not Duck. "We headed over to the reservoir as Zadavia said. There was this dude, went by the name of Sypher, who claimed to be a new superhero in town. Then he touched us and our powers were gone."

So just by simply touching one of them was the reason that they had no powers? That was an interesting, yet dangerous, ability that a person could possess.

"Well, if he did steal our superpowers at least he's using them to save people," Rev said.

"Sorry," Lexi said, "stealing is stealing. Time to take this guy down. I want my powers back." There was anger in her voice when she said it. She didn't go through weeks in the hospital, recovering from the effects of the meteor, only to have the powers that she had been gifted with be taken away from her.

"Calm down" Duck said as he approached Lexi, "you're already on one big power trip."

Lexi gave him a glare and she wished she had her brain blast to give him a hit on his tail feathers for saying that.

"Tech, Miranda, and I are the only ones left with superpowers and seeing as Tech couldn't lead a parade and Miranda has no experience."

Excuse me? Miranda thought as she gave Duck a frown. Careful with the ego trip now.

Can't lead a parade? Tech thought. I'd like to see him lead the most experienced scientists on a breakthrough discovery. Been there, done that.

"I should be the one making the decisions," Duck finished.

Ace looked at Duck. In fact, since him, Tech, and Miranda were the ones with powers, then they could at least attempt to subdue this guy whilst the rest of them used their moves on him. "Alright Duck," Ace said and put him to the test, "what do you think we should do?"

Duck was caught off by that comment as he looked at Ace. "Well, we should…uh, we should…we should hunt down this Sypher guy and find a way to get all out powers back."

"Whoa," Lexi said as she looked at Ace, "he got it right on his first guess."

Right behind Lexi, Zadavia's hologram appeared. "Sypher shouldn't be too hard to find." The screen changed to the city's streets as this new villain was being paraded around for being the city's new superhero. "As we speak, he is acting as the grand marshal at a parade thrown in his honor."

"Yeesh," Ace commented, "talk about overexposure."

"Don't be too impressed," Zadavia chimed in, "Sypher is not as heroic as he pretends to be. Watch these images recorded at the dam by one of my own satellites."

The image showed a young man hovering by the dam as he tried to find the weakest spot. He used Ace's laser vision on the dam and created a crack, causing the water to seep out until the dam would burst.

"That faker!" Ace gasped after what he had witnessed, "he used my power to crack the dam."

"That glory hog set us up to steal our powers!" Lexi pointed out as she looked at the screen, "just so he could be famous?"

The television screen changed back to Zadavia's hologram. "Precisely," she said to them, "and he needs to be stopped before he does something that even superpowers cannot fix." Her eyes shifted towards Miranda, who had been silent through this debriefing. Now that the team was down by four powers, they needed as much force as they could to stop this villain. "Miranda," she said as the female duck turned her head and looked at her boss, "I am temporarily placing you back on the team. They're going to need as much help as they can."

"What?" Duck said as he looked from Miranda and over to Zadavia, but she was quick enough to close the hologram before anyone asked her questions. "'Back on the team?'" Duck said as he looked at Miranda, "what did she mean by that?"

"I think we ought to worry about that later Duck," he said, "but now that we know where he is—" he wanted to say when he got interrupted by Duck clearing his throat. "Oh right, take it away Duck."

"Yes!" Duck said as he stood up on his feet, "now saddle up and let's uh…uh…you know…uh…" Ace slid towards Duck and whispered in his ear before plopping back onto his seat, "rain on his parade!"

"I couldn't have said it better myself," Ace smirked.

Just by following the directions of a very large parade balloon, it wasn't hard to find where Sypher was. When the Loonatics arrived, they couldn't believe the amount of people that had gathered for this big phony. Duck craned his neck through the group of people to see where Sypher was until he spotted him sitting by a car signing autographs.

"Chill everybody," Sypher said to the ground as he signed one autograph to the next, "there's plenty of Sypher to go around."

"Is that so?" Duck spoke up as all attention was placed upon him and the rest of the team, "save the celebration Sypher for the real superheroes, because there isn't any super in Sypher. Because the real Sypher is a super Sypher-less, uh, Sypher-head."

Lexi facepalmed and shook her head while Miranda stared at Duck with a confused expression on her face. They would've subdued Sypher by now!

"Dude," Sypher said as he looked at the Duck, "that makes no sense."

"It means you stole my friends' powers okay?" Duck yelled, feeling his patience starting to wear thin. "It means that you're a big fraud."

The crowd gasped upon Duck's accusation.

"And we're here to get our powers back," Lexi said.

Sypher laughed as he looked at the superheroes. "Stole your powers?" he looked over at the crowd that had gathered around him, in hopes that he could turn them against these superheroes. "Look, they're buggin' 'cause I can do everything that they can do but way better. They're just trying to smear me! I say they go back to the petting zoo where they came from." He was glad when he heard the crowd getting all riled up against the Loonatics. "But Sypher is willing to forgive and forget." He jumped out of the seat of the car and sped over to the group.

Tech was caught off guard as Sypher appeared right in front of his face and placed a hand on his shoulder.

"Will you be my bud?" Sypher smirked as he felt all of Tech's powers going into the palm of his hand and spreading throughout his body.

The Loonatics watched as Tech grew weaker and Ace couldn't stand it anymore. He ran towards Sypher and pulled Tech away from him.

"See?" Sypher said as he looked at the crowd, "I just want to be buds, but the hero has-beens won't let me."

"Who wants to be friends with someone who refers to himself in third person?" Miranda spoke up.

"And I've had about enough of this super clown," Duck chimed in. He looked over at Ace and said, "maybe if we all rush him at once, he won't be able to defend himself!"

Now that was something that Ace hadn't expected to hear from Duck and he had to admit that it was a good idea! "Good thinkin' Duck, now you're starting to scare me."

Just as Duck had suggested, the team ran towards Sypher. Having control of Slam's superpowers, Sypher twisted around creating a small cyclone and ricocheted all the Loonatics away from him. They fell back on top of each other.

"Anymore thoughts?" Duck asked the team, feeling squished beneath all the weight that was on top of him.

"Man," Sypher said as he activated Ace's laser beams, "they are totally out for me." He directed the laser beams towards a couple of buildings causing them to crumble and fall on the Loonatics. "You see? I gotta defend myself."

Ace and Lexi jumped away from the falling rock, Tech and Slam took off in different directions. As for Rev, he wasn't too quick to get out of way. A gasp escaped his beak and he froze in place when he saw a boulder about to fall on him. He flinched shut his eyes but didn't feel any pain. He opened one eye and noticed Miranda levitating the rock.

"Hey Loser!" she yelled at Sypher, "why don't you defend this!" she yelled as she threw the boulder towards him.

A smirk was on his lips as he directed his head towards the boulder and brain blasted it into small chips. Telekinesis, sweet! he thought.

"And don't even think about!" Miranda yelled at him when he heard his thoughts.

And she can read minds too? Now that's gonna be helpful. But why does a scrawny looking chicken like her have these powers in the first place? he thought.

Miranda blinked when he said that. "I am not a chicken!" she clenched her hand into fists and gritted her teeth. She was about to rush towards him but fell back when Duck teleported in front of her.

"Alright Captain Suck-Up," Duck said, "and I mean that literally, let me ask you something." He reached back, making it seem like he was taking something out of his pocket, "can you do this?" he took out a pair of power orbs and held them in front of Sypher.

"No," Sypher answered, "but it sure looks cool!"

Duck crouched down and lifted himself in the air, throwing the power orbs towards Sypher. Using Rev's superspeed, Sypher was able to get out of the way before he was hit. Sypher looked behind him and was amazed by the powers that Duck was able to do. "Sweet!" he said, "but can you do this?" he ran towards Duck, who was quick enough to teleport out of the way.

Through the dust that had been created, Miranda shook her head and got up from the ground only to find herself in Sypher's arms. "Hey!" she yelled as she tried to get away from his grip.

Sypher was shocked that he had grabbed the wrong duck, but he felt himself getting energized by her powers. When he knew that he had taken all her powers, he let go of her and she fell onto the ground. He then looked up when he saw Duck standing on top of the parade balloon.

"Ha!" Duck cheered, "top that!"

Sypher ran down the street, up a building, and then jumped towards the parade balloon. Once he got close enough to Duck, Duck teleported away much to Sypher's dismay. "Where are you Duck dude?"

Slam helped Miranda from the ground as the team gathered to see what was happening. Ace smiled at what they were witnessing. Who knew that once Duck put his mind into good use, he was able to do something effective. "Look!" Ace said as he pointed over to the parade balloon, "Duck is actually getting to him."

"He's elevated annoying to a superpower," Lexi said.

Miranda clasped her hands together and looked at Duck with admiration. As he showed his heroic side, it made him even more charming in her eyes.

Duck stood on top of a building and looked down at the parade balloon with a confused Sypher standing on top of it. "Heads up!" Duck yelled as he threw a power orb towards Sypher.

Sypher looked up and twisted into a mini cyclone as it ricocheted the power orb towards Duck. The acceleration from the power orb was so fast that Duck didn't have the chance to get out of the way. The power orb hit him on the face and he struggled to wipe it off his face. He stumbled across the building and fell off the edge.

Miranda gasped as she was about to run towards Duck but stopped it in her tracks when Sypher swooped past her and grabbed Duck in his arms.

"Gotcha Duck," he said as he held onto him and felt all of Duck's powers absorbing into him, "how does it feel to be quaking in fear?"

Duck felt himself getting weaker until all his powers had vanished. "Despicable," he answered him and bowed his head in defeat.

The Loonatics couldn't believe that all their powers were gone. After their encounter with Sypher, they quickly gathered at HQ and tried to figure out a plan on what they could do to stop him. "That's seven out of seven," Ace said to the team when they were gathered in the conference room.

"What're we gonna do?" Duck frantically asked the team, "now that he's got my powers, he's practically invincible! We're doomed! Doomed!"

Ace walked past Duck's seat and gave him a look. So much for being cool under pressure through all of this.

"Duck's right," Tech spoke up, "without our powers, we're useless against him."

Ace couldn't believe how dismayed his teammates were about all of this. There was always a reason to everything in today's century and he was willing to do everything he could to make sure that his teammates got their powers back. If Duck was going to panic through all of this and give his teammates the support and morale that they were looking for, then he was willing to step up and do it himself. "That bloated fame hound is not gonna get the best of us. We can take him with what we have left. Our skills!"

Their skills were important, but how much would they be up against those combined superpowers? Tech deeply thought about that. If they didn't have some form of protection against those powers, they were going to get seriously hurt and without his powers to regenerate, this was going to be one-shot. What they needed was some form of protection against those powers. "You know," he suddenly spoke up, "I could fashion some type of body armor. Yes! I may have just the thing, leave it to me!" he jumped out of his chair and sped off towards his laboratory.

"Did I mention we're doomed? Doomed I say?" Duck said.

Miranda let out a sigh as she faceplanted on the table. "Duck, enough."

For Tech to design seven fully armored suits with special powers, it had taken him a good couple of hours. Everything needed to be perfect for them to work. When he was finished, he called his teammates to his laboratory as they donned the armored suits. "Here they are," Tech proudly said to the team, "ready for combat. Designed and calibrated to your individual brain powers. Nano-powered bionic suits so his magnetic powers won't affect us. Each suit has been designed to mimic and deflect our individual superpowers."

Tech spoke with each of teammates with what the suits were equipped with. Ace's was equipped with laser goggles, Rev had accelerated wings and legs, Lexi had an ultrasonic siren to damage Sypher's hearing, Slam had jets that would allow him to make a tornado, Miranda's armor was equipped with a gun that would allow her to levitate objects, and Duck's body armor released a small red pill.

"Doomed," Duck commented as he looked at the red pill.

"Hey, give me a break," Tech said to him, "I only had five minutes to come up with all of this."

"Wait," Miranda said as she looked at Tech, "what about my telepathy? He's going to read all our thoughts."

That was a detail that Tech didn't forget. "These helmets are equipped with anti-transmission channels. In other words, he won't be able to pick up on anything that we think."

That was Tech for you. Always prepared and ready to take on whatever action came his way. The Loonatics didn't waste another minute as they jumped on their Zoomatrixes and got ready to find Sypher's hideout. Thanks to Zadavia being attentive for the team, she sent them her coordinates to where Sypher was staying and they were able to find him as quickly as possible.

"Look alive gang," Ace said to the team when they landed in front of Sypher's hideout, "I'm picking up security sensors."

The group approached the locked door with no easy way of getting inside. Tech walked closer to the door and holding out the palms of his hands, an electromagnetic force escaped from his hands and the door were pried open. The Loonatics proceeded inside the lair. As they passed by another door and walked in, they saw Sypher sitting on his throne as if he had been expecting them.

"Hola, ex-super dudes," he greeted the Loonatics, "check out my new crib. Pretty awesome, right?"

"Eh," Miranda said with a shrug of her shoulders, "I've seen better."

"By the way," Sypher said as he looked at their bodysuits, "nice threads."

"Yeah," Ace said as he approached the throne and smirked at Sypher, "what are you, the fashion police?"

Sypher was not going to waste anytime debating with these creatures. Now that they were all here, he was going to show them just whom they were missing with. "Bring it on bunny," he said to Ace as he leaped off his throne and pointed Ace's laser vision towards the group. The group scattered and Ace used his body armor to deflect the powers. Sypher then directed the laser beams towards Tech who was able to successfully deflect it from his chest. It was a very impressive attempt but he didn't think that it would work against some brain blast. He directed Lexi's powers towards the group but they jumped out of the way and he hit a pillar, causing it to fall. Sypher jumped out of the way before the pillar fell onto him.

Miranda held her gun towards the pillar and levitated it towards Sypher at full speed.

With Rev's speed, Sypher ran out of the way and watched as the pillar crashed against the wall into small pieces. Ace then directed his laser beams towards Sypher, but he was able to dodge all of them. Ace then ran towards Sypher threw punches and kicks, trying his hardest to subdue him. He then ran on top of the pillar and landed on Sypher's shoulders as he held tightly onto him. In doing so, Ace felt a surge of energy running through his body but before he knew it, Sypher pulled him off and threw him across the room.

Ace fell on the floor but didn't feel that tiredness that he felt before. He took off his helmet and noticed that his laser vision was back.

"Hey Sypher," Lexi said as she jumped in front of him, "I have a message for you and it sounds something like this!" she let out a shrill scream as it hit Sypher directly in his ears. He quickly recovered and used Lexi's brain blast towards her. She tried to deflect against her superpower but was thrown back and crashed into the wall.

Slam used his body armor and spun towards Sypher, who mimicked the same action. The two tornados contacted one another as they let out a great amount of electromagnetic energy, causing gusts of wind and rain to appear within the room.

The rest of the Loonatics were hiding behind a damaged pillar. Seeing that Sypher was a bit distracted; Ace turned his attention towards Tech. "I know how to beat him," he said to the coyote, "when I touched Sypher, I felt my powers coming back."

"No wonder he won't let any of us near him," Tech said, "he absorbs the powers through touch, but we can get them back the same way!"

Through the battle that Slam was putting towards Sypher, he was thrown back towards the group as Sypher came out victorious in the end.

Ace turned his attention towards the male and let out a glare. "Time for a squeeze play," he said as he looked at his team, "come on guys, all together now!" The group charged towards Sypher, who was standing at the ready to attack.

Sypher was able to punch and kick all the Loonatics that came towards him. He watched as Rev used his speed and flew towards him, but Sypher teleported out of the way causing Rev to crash against the pillar. Tech used the powers from his body armor and levitated the throne towards Sypher. Sypher was able to deflect Tech's powers with his own as he sent the throne towards the coyote, causing him to crash towards the rest of the team.

The Loonatics groaned from the beating that they had received. "He's never gonna let us near his chief," Tech said to Ace.

He seemed unbeatable with all their superpowers combined. But how would he feel about intrusive thoughts? "Everyone," Miranda said to the team, "take your helmets off and think bad things about this dude!"

At this point, Ace was willing to take on any idea. Just as Miranda had suggested, the team took off their helmets and tried to think what they could to distract Sypher.

Sypher's eyes widened at the thoughts that he was picking up from the Loonatics:

Can't believe this guy thinks that he could win the city over by taking our powers. He's a thief! Ace thought.

Talk about a bad fashion sense. What type of super suit is that? And what's up with that hair? Lexi thought.

Gah-rab-huga-BLAH! Slam cringed at the thought of Sypher wanting to be the next superhero of Acmetropolis.

My parents didn't raise me to be rude to others, but this guy is such a meanie that he deserves to be locked in jail! Rev thought.

He may have my powers, but he will never be genius that I am. Good luck trying to do that…bud! Tech thought with a smirk upon his mouth.

He dares to steal my powers and use them against me? He's gonna get what's coming to him between those cross-looking eyes real soon Duck thought as he took out the small red pill from within the body armor arm.

This dude is such a loser. He probably cries to sleep and then wakes up thinking he can bully us out of our powers. In you dream, superhero wannabe! Miranda thought.

Sypher placed his hands on his head and cringed at the thoughts that were intruding his mind. Seeing that he was distracted, Ace turned around and looked at Duck. "Duck, egg him!"

"Order up, Sypher!" Duck said as he threw the egg towards Sypher and it hit him directly in the eyes.

"Ahh! My eyes!" Sypher yelled as he threw out his hand and tried to attack the Loonatics with Tech's magnekenesis.

Finally, they had caught him where they wanted him. "Now, rush him!" Ace yelled as everyone on the team and grabbed onto every part of Sypher that they could hold on to. Once doing that, the Loonatics felt every single part of their power rushing into them. Once they had retrieved their powers, Sypher grew weak and fell on the ground. "Will the real superheroes please stand up…and the phonies fall down?" Ace smirked as he looked down at the defeated Sypher.

After Sypher's arrest, the Loonatics had gathered at HQ as Zadavia congratulated them on a job well done. An image of Sypher was shown on the screen with his hands locked in a set of metallic gloves. "He won't be touching our lives any time soon," Zadavia said to the team. "Nice work all of you, Zadavia out."

Congratulations were nice and all, but did that mean that Miranda was back on the team…or was she still suspended? She let out a light sigh and shook her head at the whole debrief that Zadavia had given the team.

Ace sensed her displeasure but there was nothing that he could do about it. It was Zadavia's call, not his.

As for Duck, now that he had his moment of showing a little bit of leadership towards the team, even if it wasn't for long, he wanted to announce his ideas about what he wanted to do with the team, which consisted of writing reports and calisthenics. However, he felt that if he was going to make such an announcement it was going to get shot down by the group.

"Oh," Zadavia's hologram came back on the screen as the Loonatics looked at her expectantly, especially Duck and Miranda.

Yes, I'm the leader now! Duck thought.

Please put me back on the team! Miranda thoughtfully begged.

"I almost forgot one extra detail. Lexi, excellent job in taking Ace's place. Ace you shall commence your role back as leader of the team. Zadavia out."

Miranda felt her shoulders falter when she heard that and Duck glared at the screen. No appreciation at all! Why am I not surprised? Duck thought as he tried his hardest to bite his tongue from lashing out. He felt that this wasn't fair, even if his leadership didn't last so long.

Ace could feel that there was tension within the room. He felt that if he was to ask anything to Duck or Miranda, all of HQ was going to explode. "Well," he said as he got up from his seat, "who's up for some pizza?" he asked and the rest of the team agreed with him. They got up from their seats and headed over to the elevator.

"Wait," Lexi said as she turned around and looked at the lounge, "what about Duck and Miranda?"

Ace let out a light sigh. "They just need some time," he said to her as he gave her a gentle push towards the elevator.

Once he saw that they were gone, Duck couldn't hold it any longer. "Did you see that? I was standing right here and she didn't say anything about me! No one else made it evident to her either! I was the one that suggested we rush him and I was the one who was trying to tire him out when everyone else couldn't!"

Miranda watched him as he ranted about the issue. It wasn't going to make Zadavia changed her mind on what she thought about them. "At least you're not the one who's suspended," she said to him.

Duck stopped midsentence when she said that. Did he hear her correctly? Suspended? He knelt in front of her and took her hands in his. "What happened?" he asked her.

"That day at the jewelry store what that…" she bit her tongue before she let out a swear word out of her beak, "…when she threw it at the glass case, I was about to send shards of glass towards her way."

It had been a bit of a blurry memory. Duck remembered getting thrown across the glass case and getting knocked out for a bit, but whatever happened after, he didn't know.

"I wasn't going to let her get away with it," Miranda said with a shake of her head, not feeling any remorse for her actions. "But Zadavia found out about it and has placed me on suspension for the rest of the month…or when I can control my anger."

Duck couldn't believe it. This was just harsh and being down a member made it hard on the others to work. At least Zadavia was kind enough to let Miranda on the team when it was only him and Tech that had powers. Even though Miranda wanted to avenge Duck for getting injured, it made him uneasy of the idea that Miranda had tried to harm that woman. As admirable as it was, it was also something that he was against. He squeezed her hands and looked at her, "you're a superhero. Don't fall down the route of a villain," he said. "No matter what happens, don't do that. I don't want to lose you."

Miranda looked down and a small smile came upon her beak. She would never dream of going down that route but she was glad that Duck didn't see her any differently. "I am trying my best with controlling my anger," she said to him, "Ace has been helping."

Of course Duck thought, completely forgetting the idea that Miranda could read his mind. The one and only. "Let's forget about today," Duck said to her, "let's get out of HQ for a little bit."

"Wanna join the team for pizza?" she asked as she got up from her seat.

Duck was silent for a minute. It would be nice to join the group, but after everything that had happened it was better that he just went his own way for the time being. "No," he said with a shake of his head, "I want to spend time with you."

There was truth in those words and with that, he pulled Miranda close to him as they made their way out of HQ and go someplace where no one would think of ever think of looking for them. Their little home where they hand't stepped foot in over a year and it was nice to finally go to a place where they could have some of their privacy without anyone else being present.
