Chapter 4
Obito never knew he could wake up feeling this comfortable. At least not in this lifetime. Yet here he was, cuddled in against Kakashi who slept soundly in his arms. Kakashi was relaxed, with his head resting on his chest and limbs slumped heavily into the mattress. Obito couldn't help but brush his hand through the strands of silver hair, soft against his hand, and breathe in his mate's scent. Obito didn't want to get up, he was ridiculously comfy.
But he'd need to order food for Kakashi, who needed all the energy he could get. The next round of heat would creep up on the Omega soon and Obito's rut would come back in full force. They both needed one another to take care of it now, much to Obito's annoyance.
Admittedly, he hadn't been entirely sure what he was going to do with Kakashi now that he had him in the Hidden Mist. It was far too tempting to keep him here, but he shouldn't. No, that would be a distraction, one Obito couldn't afford.
Thankfully his mask had remained in place the entire time. Kakashi never tried to take it off, only adjusted it whenever he wanted to kiss him. Obito had adjusted it a lot last night too. He had wanted to kiss Kakashi senseless.
His Alpha purred. They had kissed Kakashi senseless. They had kissed Kakashi everywhere, and bit and nipped and licked-
Obito twitched.
Everywhere. Bit everywhere. Oh no they fucking didn't-
He quickly checked Kakashi's neck, earning a soft whine. He brushed Kakashi's hair back in apology for disturbing his sleeping mate, even as he grimaced. Obito had bitten Kakashi's scent gland. He had actually bonded to him.
He reached up for his own and winced.
Kakashi had bitten his too then.
Okay, yeah, none of this was according to plan.
Fuck.
When a couple bit each other's scent gland that was it. They were bonded for the rest of their lives (unless you did something harmful to yourself, which made Obito feel queasy just thinking about. He could never cut apart his scent gland.) Mates didn't always accept one another, so they could bond themselves to another despite that. Or if someone lost a mate.
Of course, Kakashi's Omega probably knew who its Alpha was, and was probably delighted right now, just as Obito's Alpha was. Obito however had no idea what to do about this. He couldn't do anything really, unless he killed Kakashi or caused himself harm, which would put him out of commission for at least a year. That was no good.
And Obito would rather tear his own spine out and beat himself to death with it than kill Kakashi. It didn't matter that he'd bring Kakashi back in the next life. He refused to cause his mate harm.
Mates didn't kill one another. Especially not as an Uchiha, when love and hate were such overbalancing scales. Killing Kakashi would drive him insane, just trying to would leave him ill. That had supposedly been the cause of Hashirama's death. Konoha teachers tell them he died in battle, but Madara had told Obito his true fate, his voice full of pained grief, no matter how much time had gone past.
Just the thought of having killed Madara, despite having two mates, left the Omega seriously ill. Mito Uzumaki (his other mate) tried to help Hashirama, but the pain was too much and he passed on early in his years.
Madara had said his heart had been ripped out when he felt Hashirama die, and that mates should never cause each other so much harm. Obito had been confused, said he and Kakashi got into fights all the time, but Madara scoffed and said their fights were pup spats. They were nothing serious.
The old bastard had been right of course.
He had realised that when he saw Rin impaled on Kakashi's Chidori. Kakashi's Omega scent flooded the air, full of so much despair, while Rin's Beta had been full of pain filled determination, blood and oddly enough sea salt. Obito had only been able to choke helplessly on their scents, before he was overcome by a murderous fury.
He had slaughtered all their enemies right there and then.
But afterwards, Rin was dead and gone, and Kakashi was traumatised.
And nobody cared.
A knock at the door stirred him from his thoughts. Obito carefully adjusted Kakashi until he was laying comfortably in bed, while Obito pulled on one of the spare kimonos and answered it. The owner carried a large tray of food. "Breakfast, sir?"
"Yes. Thank you." Obito took the tray, and closed the door once again.
He brought it back to bed and sat the tray on the bedside table, but paused when red and grey eyes blinked at him from the pile of blankets. The red eye quickly slipped shut, but the grey remained open.
"Morning, Kakashi," Obito greeted, sniffing his scent.
Kakashi was still deep within his Omega state. That was understandable. The first day had passed, there was still two more to go.
"Food?" Kakashi mumbled, sitting up.
He was ignoring his Alpha completely, which almost made Obito whine. Newly bonded and their mate preferred food over him.
Kakashi threw him a dry look and tapped his scent gland. "I can feel your distress, Alpha. I'll get back to you later."
Obito winced. He was that obvious?
"Now hand it over." Kakashi reached for the tray. Obito rolled his eyes, but handed it over.
Kakashi was as bossy as ever.
Kakashi munched away, but nudged the tray at him when Obito sat back down. Obito shook his head, taking some tea instead.
"I don't need to eat."
Kakashi blinked. "Oh yeah, you did say that, didn't you, Mr. Kidnapper?"
Obito groaned. "You're far more lucid than I thought if you're using that name instead of calling me 'Alpha'. Go back to moaning that, would you?"
Kakashi chuckled. "I'm sort of lucid. Not for long though. Food helps clear my head a little, but my heats coming back."
"Well you should be able to manage that entire tray with your heat," Obito said, nudging it back to him. "Finish the rest."
"That seems greedy," Kakashi huffed, but obeyed.
"Omegas eat more during their heats." Obito rolled his eye. "It's a fact. If you don't then it's no wonder you're a stick."
Kakashi stammered. "I-I'm not a stick!"
"A muscular stick."
"You're a mean Alpha."
Obito sighed. "You're a disobedient Omega."
"Well, you did kidnap me-" Kakashi gasped, then shivered.
A spark of pleasure escaped Kakashi's scent. Obito felt his Alpha stir. He took the nearly empty tray and sat it aside, pushing Kakashi back down against the pillows so he could kiss away at his neck. Kakashi moaned softly beneath him, clutching his shoulders. Obito brushed his fingers over Kakashi's nipples, earning a pleasured cry. Kakashi squirming against him.
More slick spilled out of Kakashi, staining his thighs, and Obito couldn't help but purr, his own need growing hard and hot.
Mate needed attention.
So he would give his mate attention.
.::.
Obito's rut had receded, just as Kakashi's heat ended. It had all been wonderful, a wonderful three days he got to spend with his mate, but he needed to get back to normality.
The only problem was that now he was bonded to Kakashi.
He had kept his mask on the entire time, but that was the only thing Obito had done right these past few days.
Now they were bonded, and they'd need each other next month, and the month after that, and that, and that-
No. Project Tsuki No Mi would begin in the next few years.
Then they would have their perfect world.
Yes, he would need to mate with Kakashi for the next few years, but it would help sooth his Omega, who was anxious and depressed. Obito could ease the suffering in his life, by giving him company three nights a month, flooding him with mind numbing pleasure. Kakashi would benefit from having an Alpha's comfort in his life, just as Obito could secretly enjoy Kakashi's presence.
Obito pushed the thick, heavy curtains back and stared out into the mist. As dull as ever, and of course it was raining.
He glanced back, and couldn't help but soften at Kakashi's sleeping form. He was buried beneath the blankets, head tucked into his pillows. He clutched them weakly, far too relaxed after their nights together to need to grip anything tightly. No, he'd be in a deep sleep. No nightmares to haunt his steps, not in this state. It was the most peaceful Kakashi had ever looked.
Kakashi was beautiful, and kind. Far too kind. He never asked Obito any questions about himself, or tried to remove his mask. Kakashi should have been curious, should have tried to find out his secrets, especially after being kidnapped by him, but the Omega hadn't.
Sure, he had been lost to the heat, but Kakashi and his Omega counterpart would still have been curious. Kakashi's Omega should have asked where he had been all this time. Why his Alpha hadn't returned.
But he never did, and now his heat was finished.
Obito paused at the minute movement in the bed. He didn't see it, his attention was back on the window, but he could sense Kakashi carefully slipping out of bed, keeping his footsteps light. Kakashi felt cautious and wary. He could feel Kakashi's urge to run and return to Konoha, how nervous he felt. He was a scramble of emotions, both joy from the Omega half and concern from Kakashi himself.
By the Sage, this bond would be difficult to manage.
"Don't bother," Obito warned him. "Your chakra hasn't recovered. You can't escape."
"Is this why you brought me here?" Kakashi asked, his tone icy. "To use me for my heat? Or did you decide you want a baby? Because let me tell you now, I'm on contraceptives."
Obito turned around, letting go of the curtain. It dropped, shutting them off back into the darkness of the candle lit room, cutting them off once more from the world. Kakashi had managed to get out of bed, but hadn't managed to step towards the door, or towards Obito. He held himself back, anger and worry flickering through him. But he was also exhausted. Kakashi was in no condition to fight. Obito could easily pin him down to that bed and Kakashi would fuss, before succumbing to sleep once more.
"No," he said mildly. "If I wanted to do that I could have had you a long time ago. You're away from Konoha often after all. And if I wanted pups, I would have kept you restrained and waited until the contraceptives wore off. The only time you don't use them is the week of your heat, but this heat was forced."
Okay, so perhaps he knew what medication Kakashi took, or at least what he was prescribed. Kakashi never took his sleeping medication after all. It wasn't a bad thing that Obito knew Kakashi's medical record though. Obito just liked to know his Omega's state of health.
Yes, his Alpha was obsessive. He understood that years ago.
"Starting to rethink my name for you." Kakashi scowled. "Might need to change it to Mr. Stalker."
"The name doesn't matter, no matter how abysmal your names are," Obito said, then sighed, leaning against the wall. "No, I brought you here with the intention of letting you recover, but I'm afraid I was unable to control my Alpha. A rare occurrence, I must admit, but it seems my Alpha reacted to your drugged induced heat. My apologises for that."
Kakashi calmed at that, the urge to flee easing off.
Kakashi shifted. "Well, guess I don't have too much to complain about. You were gentle the entire time, and never did anything my Omega disliked, nor myself."
Obito scoffed. "I would never shame myself by causing you harm just to pleasure myself."
"A lot of people don't hold those ideals towards Omegas," Kakashi admitted. "So thanks?"
"Those people are disgusting wastes of space," Obito growled lowly, but paused. Kakashi was growing hesitant. Obito softened his voice, hoping to reassure the Omega. "You should lie back down, or take a bath. You're still very sensitive, especially as a Hatake."
"Or you could finally let me go. You've kept me here for long enough," Kakashi said firmly, eye growing hard.
Obito sighed, and in barely a two seconds he had Kakashi pinned back down to the bed. Kakashi cursed, twisting against his grasp, but Obito easily kept him in place.
"You shouldn't be so easily caught and held down," Obito said coldly. "Anyone could capture you at this rate. You're helpless, or is that what you want? To have someone hold you down and take you? Was our nights together not enough to satisfy you?"
Kakashi flushed. "Don't be an idiot-"
"I'm not the one being foolish and stubborn," Obito growled, leaning down to lick at Kakashi's sensitive, newly bitten gland, shifting his mask to reach the tender skin. "You're recovering from your injures, no matter how gentle I was with you, you're in pain, and your chakra is still very low."
Kakashi shivered, settling in his grasp. Obito kissed the gland gently, mouthing it, earning a soft moan.
"So behave," Obito ordered, his voice growing hard. "Be good for your Alpha, alright?"
"At least answer my questions?" Kakashi tried weakly.
Obito ignored him, biting the gland instead, earning a startled gasp. Kakashi melted against the bed, mewling, as Obito continued tormenting the sensitive scent gland.
Kakashi may no longer be in his heat, but the Omega's senses were still overly stimulated and sensitive. He would be obedient to Obito's touches.
"You don't need to know where you are," Obito said. "You don't need to know who I am, or when I'll be willing to let you leave. No, all you need to know is that you're safe, and that I'm looking after you. Understand, Kakashi?"
Kakashi buried his head into the pillows and nodded, baring his neck obediently. "Yes. I'll be good, Alpha."
"Good," Obito praised, kissing him softly. "Very good, Kakashi. How about we get you distracted, hm? Like a good Omega."
He could feel Kakashi's Omega growing eager, and it was making his Alpha hungry for more.
Kakashi nodded eagerly and started kissing at his neck. "Yes, please, Alpha. Please!"
Again, Obito's Alpha was a bastard.
But sometimes it did have good ideas.
