I don't own Loonatics Unleashed

Enjoy!

The day was not like any other. Ace had this feeling as if he had experienced something, but without knowing if he had or not. His eyes snapped open after experiencing a nightmare of getting squished by a gargantuan robot that he and his team had tried to take down. He was sweaty and he felt that he had lost sensations in his arms and legs. His eyes searched around his room where he found himself warm inside the covers of his bed. "Whoa!" he exclaimed as he snapped in an upright position and placed a hand over his head, "that was some dream!" He looked around once more in his room, having that sense of familiarity again. "At least I think it was a dream."

Slowly, he pulled the covers off him and got up from the bed. His legs felt a little shaky but he adjusted his balance before he decided to join his team over in the kitchen for some breakfast. Tech, Slam, Lexi, Duck, and Miranda were gathered at the table having a cup of coffee while Rev was making one of his special morning juices.

"Morning-Ace," Rev greeted him, "you-look-really-run-down.-I'm-making-my-super-booster-pick-me-up-shake-you-like-one?-How-about-it?" he asked as he held a glass towards Ace.

Ace let out an exhausted yawn and turned down the juice. All he wanted to do was go back to bed but he didn't want to miss out on any Zadavia's calls. Lexi walked over to him and placed a slice of bread in a see through toaster force field and it took a minute for the bread to toast. "That's strange," Ace said as he looked at the bread.

Lexi let out a little chuckle. "Ace, toast is not strange. Unless Duck makes it…then watch out."

Why did this seem all too familiar to him? Rev asking him if he wanted to try the shake, Lexi toasting the bread. What was next? Zadavia showing up?

"Loonatics," came Zadavia's hologram as she appeared in front of the team.

Ace flinched when he heard her voice. How did he know that was going to happen?

"Your assistance is urgently needed at the Acmetropolis Military Weapons Lab," Zadavia continued as the team approached the screen and looked at the events that were unfolding.

Tech raised an eyebrow when Zadavia said that. "The weapons lab needs help from us?" he asked, "but they have all those…weapons." It sounded very ironic how a place like that couldn't defend itself with all the equipment that it had.

The screen transitioned from the military lab to Zadavia's hologram. "Someone's broken in and is trying to steal the Trolbot 9000."

"The Trolbot 9000?!" Duck exclaimed, "no! Not the Trolbot 9000!" He then turned around and looked at the team, "what's the Trolbot 9000 again?"

"The most powerful fighting machine ever created," Zadavia answered Duck as she got him back on track before he lost his focus.

"Not the Trolbot 9000!" Duck exclaimed again.

"Duck," Ace said as he calmly walked up to the duck and put his hand on his shoulder, "try to use your inside voice." He turned his head over to Zadavia and gave her a nod of his head, "we'll get right on," he assured her and her hologram disappeared.

"Let's jet!" Ace said as the team took off in different directions to get ready.

Miranda turned around and looked at Duck who had turned his attention over to the television screen. "You coming, Duck?" he asked him.

"Hold on," Duck said as he raised his index in the air, pressed a button on his suit, and looked at the screen where an aged man appeared, "make it snappy, gramps. We're on our way to save the city!"

"My name is Dr. Fidel Chroniker, and my grandson is totally out of control!" the aged man said to Duck, hoping that he would get some form of action from the team.

Miranda blinked at this strange request.

"And this is our problem how?" Duck asked him, "we're superheroes. Send Junior to bed without his video games and let us do our job." He shut down the communication with the man and walked away from the screen. "Who does he think we are, babysitters?"

"Odd," Miranda commented as she looked at Duck, "we've never gotten a call like that before."

"There's a crazy one in every bunch," Duck said to her with a shake of his head, "but we've stalled long enough. Let's get ready and join them."

Miranda gave the blank screen one last look before she went ahead and joined Duck. Her time of being suspended had been completed. She had been working with Ace on controlling her emotions ever since that night and Ace communicating her progress to Zadavia, she was finally put back on the team. She put on her jetpack as she and Duck headed out into the skies and followed their team over to the Acmetropolis Military Weapons Laboratory.

The team entered the facility and were surprised to see the condition that it was left in. Slam made a comment about the mess that was in the facility and Lexi agreed with him.

"Yeah," she said to him, "it does look worse than your room."

Suddenly, a man dressed in a colonel outfit coughed as he made his way through the smoke and ran towards the Loonatics. "At last," he said, relieved that they had finally arrived. "so glad you're here. I'm Colonel Trench. This is my command." A loud noise was heard in the other side of the room and that was enough of an indication to the colonel that he had lost some men in whatever battle they were fighting. "Or was. Follow me," he said to the superheroes as they followed him deep into the room and began to explain the situation that had happened. "Someone calling himself Time Skip has broken in claiming we stole his design for the Trolbot 9000."

Duck teleported from Miranda and in front of the colonel and Ace. "Not the Trolbot 9000!" he yelled.

"I'm afraid so," Colonel Trench said, keeping his composure professional after Duck teleported in front of him, "we've been trying to pin him down, but he continues to breach down our security measures."

Tech turned his attention over to the colonel when he said that. Shouldn't this place have a tight security in the first place so no one was able to breach into it? Whatever sort of security they had; it was probably child's play that even Tech could get into it…not that he would even dream of doing it. He was curious to ask such a question to the colonel, but he thought it was better to keep that comment to himself. They may be superheroes, but those in the military were just as powerful as they were…minus the superpowers of course.

The colonel led them deeper into the hallway until they came upon a room where a large robot, Trolbot 9000 was standing proudly on a platform and a young adult, presumably Time Skip, standing right in front of it. "Don't let him neat that system," Colonel Trench said, "if he gets inside that bot, nobody will be able to stop him!"

Duck turned his eyes over to the colonel. "Well, we're just the nobodies to try!" he said as he ran towards the robot and Time Skip.

Time Skip smirked as he saw the heroes approaching him. He raised the palm of his hand in the air and stopped the Loonatics from approaching him. "Time out Loonatics," he said as he saw them hovering in midair. He planned his escape by jumping inside the Trolbot 9000 and activating to life. Once he got inside the robot, time resumed and the Loonatics looked up to see the robot coming to life under Time Skip's command. "Now that I'm in the driver's seat, let's see what you got!" he said.

Ace directed his laser beams towards the robot but it wasn't powerful enough to even put a dent in it. Time Skip rose the robot's arm and directed a weapon towards Ace and Lexi before it let out a laser beam. "Incoming!" Ace yelled as he pushed Lexi out of the way before they were both hit. The force from the laser beam was strong enough to lift both him, Lexi, and Slam off their feet and onto the floor.

Time Skip turned the robot onto Rev, Tech, Duck, and Miranda where they all got ready in a fighting stance. He launched a missile towards the group. Rev ran towards Tech and pushed him out of the way before he was hit and towards the hardware system where Time Skip was when he activated the robot. Miranda tried to use her telekinesis but the missile came so fast that she didn't have time to stop it. Duck grabbed her hand and they both teleported out of the way before they were hit and joined Rev and Tech.

The rest of the team joined the others and watched as Time Skip directed the arm of the robot towards the wall and launched a missile. The wall was destroyed and he headed out with the robot towards Acmetropolis.

"My new metalo-converter would turn that thing to dust but its back at headquarters," Tech said to the team.

"Right," Ace said as he gave the coyote a nod of his head, "you take Rev and prep it. We'll bring the Trolbot right to you." Rev and Tech took off to the skies as they headed back to HQ as quickly as possible. Ace turned his attention to the rest of the team, "come on let's clean out his clock."

The rest of the team took off into the skies as they headed as quickly as they could towards the Trolbot 9000. "Ace," Lexi said as she hovered next to him with her jetpack, "what's the plan?"

"Take out his blades!" Ace shouted towards her. He swopped up in the air with Lexi following him as they hovered over the Trolbot 9000. "On three Lexi," Ace said to her and when the countdown finished, Ace used his laser beams and Lexi brain blasted the blades from the Trolbot 9000. "We bought it down!" Ace said to his telecommunicator as the robot fell into the streets of Acmetropolis, "you in position, Tech?"

Don't worry Ace," Tech answered back through his telecommunicator, "my metalo-converter will neutralize it!"

Even though the Trolbot 9000 had suffered a bit of an incident by falling into the pavement, it was able to get up and continue its mission without any issues. "Keep hitting him hard!" Ace said to the team, "the plan is working!" Ace said as he used his laser beams, Lexi used her brain blast, Duck used his power orbs, and Miranda tried to hit him with whatever objects she could levitate.

"You crazy Loonatics," Time Skip said as he continued his way down the streets, "can't you see that I'm indestructible?" He moved the robot's arms in the air and tried to hit them but they were quick to dodge from his attacks.

It was an attempt, but a feeble one. Ace was not going to give up on brining this guy down. "Keep driving him towards HQ!" he said to the team. He watched as the robot launched a missile towards their direction and they spread out of the way before they were hit. "Closin' in on you Tech," Ace said to his telecommunicator.

"Almost there, Ace," Tech responded as he set up his device along with Rev's help.

"I've had enough!" Time Skip yelled, "I'm gonna go and blow up your headquarters!"

Ace and the team waited to see the reaction that Tech's metalo-converter would have against the Trolbot 9000. What seemed to be like a long time, Ace wondered what had happened. Did his device malfunction or something? Before he and anyone else realized, Time Skip released a couple of missiles towards the base of HQ and destroyed the section of the building.

"Give up bunny rabbit," Time Skip said to him, "can't you see that I've won!"

Ace clenched his jaw and directed his laser beams towards the robot but it was ineffective no matter how much he tried.

"Is that the best you've got?" Time Skip asked as he approached Ace, who walked backwards until his back contacted the destroyed debris from HQ. "Now it's my turn! Time to do the Trolbot Crunch!" The robot lifted his foot and bought it on top of Ace.

"ACE!" was the last thing he heard from Lexi's screams until everything went black.

He felt something hard falling onto his body and a scream escaped from his mouth as he jolted awake and found himself lying back on the bed. He placed a hand over his head on the headache that was beginning to throb but when his eyes adjusted and he found himself back in his bedroom, he felt a wave of relief. "What a dream!" he exclaimed and one where it felt all too familiar once again. Him, the Trolbot 9000, his team.

He gasped when he thought about his teammates. Last thing he remembered from that dream was him getting presumably squished by the robot and Lexi screaming his name. He jumped out of bed and headed over to the kitchen where he was relieved to see that his team was fine and in one piece. "Another bad night," Ace said as he approached Rev, "I keep having the same nightmare over and over again."

"I'm-making-my-super-booster-pick-me-up-shake.-Would-you-care-for-one?" Rev asked and held up the juice towards him.

Ace let out a yawn and politely refused Rev's drink. Another moment that seemed all too familiar to him. "Am I still dreamin'?" he asked, "'cause I feel like I've done the exact same thing before."

Lexi let out a yawn next to him. "Hello," she said to him, "you mean like every single morning?" She went ahead and placed a slice of bread in the toaster and waited for the bread to finish.

"No Lexi," Ace said to her, "I mean Rev. You. This. It's all too familiar."

"Hello, we make the same breakfasty thing every single morning," Lexi reminded him.

"And that," Ace said, picking up on her words, "what you've just said, I'm sure you've said before."

"Sounds like déjà vu," Tech suddenly spoke up from the table and looked up from the tablet that he was reading.

"Zsa Zsa who?" Duck asked him.

"Déjà vu," Tech explained, "the same sense that you are experiencing the something over and over again."

Just then, Zadavia's hologram appeared to alert the team about their help that was needed in the Acmetropolis military weapons lab. My sentiments were right Ace thought as he watched the events, he had seen before, unfold in front of him. He turned around as he looked at Lexi and saw a look of concern across her features. That look was enough to tell him that she was thinking the same thing as he was and if she was feeling it…then the rest of the team was probably too. Whatever was the source that was making this happen, Ace was glad that him and the team had another chance to bring the Trolbot 9000 down. Not to mention the fact that he was still alive after that first…or in this case second encounter that he had.

"Let's go team," Ace suddenly said to the team as they got ready to head back to Acmetropolis Military Weapons Laboratory.

This time when the Loonatics arrived, Time Skip had not managed to break into the room yet. The Loonatics were with Colonel Trench as he showed them the Trolbot 9000 and Time Skips motives behind stealing it. Ace thought that being this early to the mission would give them the upper hand in stopping this kid. Before the rest of the team acted, a voice was heard behind them.

"That robot is mine, got it?" Time Skip yelled as he held his hands towards the group and froze time, "and a bunch of super freaks are not gonna stop me!" He ran past them and jumped inside the Trolbot 9000.

Time unfroze and the Loonatics were shocked at how quickly he had managed to get past them. "We don't understand how he's moving so fast or how to counter it," Colonel Trench said.

"My guess," Tech spoke up, "is he's inducing temporal displacement by fragmenting the quantum fabric."

He was met with a series of perplexed looks from the team.

"He's manipulating time," he said, hoping that it was easier for them to understand. When he got the same reaction out of them, he rolled his eyes and shook his head. "jumping ahead of us?" Same reaction. "We have to contact Dr. Fidel Chroniker. He's the world's foremost genius on time displacement theory."

That named seemed all too familiar to Duck. "That old crank called HQ this morning," he spoke up, "trying to hoodwink us into dealing with his totally out of control grandson."

Miranda tapped her chin with her finger. A young adult who can manipulate time, that only man named Chroniker, which if anyone was to break down his name to the Greek word 'chronos' that meant time…she gasped when Time Skip sent a missile towards their direction as she and the rest of her team jumped out of the way.

"This is a wild guess," Ace turned around and looked at Duck, "but do you think he fits the bill?"

Duck had a defeated look upon his eyes as he glanced down at the floor. He didn't think it thoroughly before hanging up twice on that aged man that had called them earlier this morning.

Ace watched as the same events unfolded in front of him. The Trolbot 9000 blew a hole in the building and headed towards the city, only this time, he was going to do something different. As Tech spoke about his metalo-converter, he looked over at Lexi. "You go warm it up while we pay a visit to Dr. Chroniker."

When Lexi took her leave from the group, Tech, Ace, Duck, and Miranda headed over to Dr. Chroniker's hideaway. They wanted for the man to make his appearance until they heard his voice when he said, "Loonatics, it's about time you showed up." He was very dissatisfied with the lack of help that he had gotten about his grandson through all of this.

He may have been unhappy with them, but Tech was overjoyed that he was meeting a famous scientist. "It's an honor to meet you Dr. Chroniker," Tech said and he approached him, "I've read all your research on time displacement."

Miranda couldn't help but chuckle when she saw that. It was like a fan meeting a celebrity, though she didn't think that Tech would be naïve enough to ask for an autograph.

"Thank you for coming…at long last," Dr. Chroniker said to them, primarily at Duck.

"Yeah," Ace said to him, "what's up with that doc? How'd you know we'd be here at all?"

"I've called you every day for the last five days," he answered him.

Ace's eyes widened when he said that. "Wait a minute, five days?"

"I've been resetting each day back to its beginning," Dr. Chroniker said as he hovered his seat over to his hardware system.

"Then that explains the déjà vu," Ace said as he and the team walked towards the scientist.

Tech looked at the hardware system and there was a smirk upon his lips at what he saw. "Your time displacer. It works?" he asked him.

"Yes," Dr. Chroniker nodded his head as he typed away onto his keyboard and images of his grandson appeared on the screen, unfolding the events that he had been through, "unfortunately, my grandson Arthur, who now calls himself Time Skip, was irradiated by it a week ago. It imbued him with the power to phase time, enabling him to leap moments ahead of the rest of us."

"But that doesn't explain why he stole the Trolbot 9000," Ace said.

"Well," Dr. Chroniker began, "Arthur is quite the genius himself. He spent years designing a weapon exactly like the Trolbot 9000. When he learned the military developed a bigger, meaner bot, he took it hard. He set out to acquire what he believes to be his. And that's why I was calling!" he empathized and turned his head towards Duck.

Duck hated being placed in this position, especially when he understood that he had made a mistake. "Alright, alright," Duck said, "next time, I'll take a message. I'm a superhero, not a secretary."

Shaking his head, Dr. Chroniker turned his attention back to the matter at hand. "In order to stop my grandson, we have to set a time trap."

"You can show us what he can do?" Ace asked.

"Of course," Dr. Chroniker said, "observe." He replayed the events that had happened earlier where time was stopped and Time Skip got past them and into the Trolbot 9000 before he took off into the city.

"Can this contraption send things back through time?" Ace asked.

"Yes, of course," Dr. Chroniker answered.

"Then let's get a head start," Ace said as he looked at his teammates with a determined look in his eyes.

"Dr. Chroniker, rewind the clock," Tech said to him.

"So we can undo the déjà vu," Ace said and shivered when he caught sight of the Trolbot 9000's foot coming down upon him for the third time.

With the day being rewound once again, the whole group felt extremely tired. Only this time, they knew what to expect and hopefully what to do. Ace took joined the others to the table and took his seat, wishing that he could be back in bed now to catch a couple of winks before continuing with this endless mission.

Tech looked over at the exhausted leader and then handed him a letter. "You had me send this to you later today," he said to him.

Ace gasped and grabbed the letter. "I had you send me what from when?" he asked him.

"And also these plans for Dr. Chroniker's time displacer," Tech said and pushed over the blueprints towards Ace.

"I had you send us what from who?" Ace said, extremely confused of what was happening at this moment.

"Oh please," Duck said, "notes sent from later today? Ridiculous! Zadavia will straighten this out when she calls in the next few seconds." A gasp escaped his beak when he said that as Tech and Ace stared at him.

Miranda furrowed her eyebrows as she felt that sense of familiarity happening to her. "It's about the Acmetropolis Military Weapons Lab."

At that moment, Zadavia's hologram appeared as she reiterated the same words that she had done the past couple of times.

A light gasp escaped Tech's mouth when Miranda had predicated had just said. This day was becoming too long for the whole team and they needed to put an end to it as quickly as possible. As Zadavia debriefed them on what was happening again, Duck interrupted her.

"The Trolbot 9000," he said, "how do I know this again?" he asked Tech.

"Because we're all remembering shadows of the future," Tech explained, "mental flashforwards. We're moving in time through a day that's already happening."

"But there's something different about today," Ace said and then looked over at Lexi as she grabbed the letter and read it. "You thinking what I'm thinking?" he asked her.

"I was already thinking it yesterday," Lexi answered him.

Ace stood up from his seat and looked at his team. "Some of this may not make any sense but here's what we're gonna do." He explained the plan that they were going to execute, only they had to do one step ahead regarding Time Skip. "Now let's jet!" Ace said as him and the team put on their jetpacks and headed to the Acmetropolis Military Weapons Lab.

Just as the team had planned, Slam, Lexi, and Duck had situated themselves inside the Trolbot 9000 and were waiting for Time Skip to make his appearance. When he finally made his appearance, Lexi smirked when they had cornered him. "Surrender now and no one gets hurt," her voice echoed out the robot and into the room. Through the screen, she watched as Time Skip ran away from the robot and into an aircraft.

Lexi, Slam, and Duck did everything that they could to move the robot towards HQ as Time Skip chased after them with the aircraft. Having him flying around the robot was distracting enough as it was and Lexi, who was in control of the robot, flung her hand towards the aircraft and pushed it out of the way. She was not going to let that aircraft stop them from accomplishing their goal…and putting an end to this very long day.

On top of HQ, Ace, Tech, Rev, and Miranda watched as the Trolboy 9000 made its way towards them. "Come on Lexi, come on," Ace said.

"And we're ready," Tech said as he got his metalo-converter ready.

Ace handed Rev a small device as he took it in his grip and headed down to the streets of Acmetropolis.

Tech adjusted his metalo-converter and pointed it at the aircraft where Time Skip was. He shot at the aircraft and the Loonatics watched as it turned into sand and he fell onto the ground. When he found himself on the pile of sand, Rev placed the device onto Time Skip's hand and he was trapped in a floating bubble. It wasn't long before the authorities came and took Time Skip away to jail.

"Bon voyage," Duck said after he, Slam, and Lexi had come out of the Trolbot 9000, "see you last week."

Once Time Skip was gone from their sights Lexi said, "and I thought this day was never going to end."

"And I didn't know you were going to say that," Ace said to her.

With, that was evident to the Loonatics that the day was going to continue until it was finally over. After a very long day, the Loonatics headed back to their HQ for a long and well-deserved sleep. This time, Ace was glad to be sleeping soundly with no robot chasing after him and trapping him in the pavement. This time, he was glad that he was living a good dream with no other interreference. A dream where he hoped it would soon come true.
