Chapter 32

Temari loved and hated this Omega. He was smart, way too clever for an Omega. Omegas were supposed to be sweet and gentle. That's what they were like back home! She hadn't thought any of the Omegas were going to be this crazy.

The fact that this lazy Omega outsmarted her made her Alpha want to claim him. Bite him.

Not ready yet though. He's a pup. But one day he'll be our Omega, our smart, clever mate.

Temari flushed.

Now she was being brought closer and closer to Shikamaru who had caught her. Lured her into a trap. Her of all people. Shikamaru who had a brightness in his eyes, something that made Temari's Alpha purr from within her. Their mate had enjoyed their fight. Temari tried to fight the control, but she was helpless. She moved on her own, obeying his commands, and her Alpha wouldn't stop bloody purring! Shikamaru forced her to raise her hand. She gritted her teeth, tried to fight the pull. She didn't want to give up. She couldn't give up-

"I forfeit the match."

Huh? Omega?

Temari blinked.

The crowd went silent.

Then they all started screaming in sheer rage.

"What the hell?" Temari gasped.

"I used up most of my chakra on that shadow possession jutsu. I'm good for about ten more seconds." Shikamaru shrugged. "It sucks, I already planned out the next two hundred moves in my head-"

The fuck?!

TWO HUNDRED?! HOW WAS THAT EVEN POSSIBLE?!

The shadow finally released her, sinking back into Shikamaru's. "Besides," Shikamaru groaned. "If I won this thing it would just be more work. I'd have to fight even more battles."

Genma looked amused. Completely and utterly amused. Temari's brain was melting. She could barely think. Her Alpha wasn't even purring anymore. She was silent, just as confused as Temari felt.

"The winner is Temari!"

This didn't feel like a win. She felt like Shikamaru had beaten her head in with a hammer.

AND SASUKE UCHIHA STILL WASN'T HERE! WHAT THE HELL?

.::.

"I'm going to beat my head against this wall now," Sasuke muttered.

He turned away from Kakashi, who was buying a stuffed blue duck with a grumpy face, and faced a wall.

"But, Sasuke!" Kakashi grinned at him. "You have to meet Sasuke Jr."

Blank him out. He just wanted attention. If Sasuke just ignored him, maybe Kakashi would finally stop being a troll.

"I even bought a fox with a grin, and a pink thing. Not sure what the pink thing is but she has a love heart dress so she can cuddle with Sasuke Jr."

Sasuke was going to set all three toys on fire. It was for their own good, and his too of course.

.::.

Izumi paused. She could see some green and dark hair, but there was also a mini version, except wearing a purple nightgown instead of the usual green. Guess Guy and Lee managed to show up then, even if Lee looked a little shaky. She grinned and waved from across the stadium where she, Asuma and Kurenai sat. Shikaku had left, saying he had stuff to do, that he'd see Shikamaru later.

And of course where there was a Guy, a Kakashi would show up sooner or later. Late as usual, but he had Sasuke in tow, a very grumpy looking Sasuke.

What the hell did Kakashi even do?

.::.

"Look, most of the first half is done. I wonder whose fault that is!" Sasuke scowled.

Kakashi raised his hands in surrender. "I'm sorry?"

"You should be." Sasuke glowered. "You didn't even finish telling me about all the Uchihas you knew, you sneaky bastard."

"At least we're here for Sakura's match." Kakashi smiled, heading to where Guy was.

"I probably missed Naruto getting slapped by Neji a hundred times." Sasuke scowled. "I'm not happy."

"Kakashi, you look like you've finally gotten comfortable!" Guy beamed.

"Yes, Kakashi sensei, good to see you. You should sit down," Lee said.

Choji got up and cleared his rubbish back into his bag. He even gestured for Kakashi to take his place, much to Kakashi's annoyance. He was even ushered into the seat by Lee, and he couldn't say no to the sickly Omega who let out a pleased scent now that he was helping someone.

"I'm pregnant, not invalid," Kakashi complained. Although, taking the weight off his feet felt great. "And yes, Guy. I've had to change clothes. I can't fit into most of my things anymore, and my flak jacket won't even zip up."

"He's been snacking a lot too," Sasuke said, already handing Kakashi a bag of food. "He really loves strawberries and dango."

"Shut up," Kakashi ordered, but couldn't help the affection that filled his tone.

The pup looked pleased with himself. Sasuke however looked over at Lee and frowned.

"How come you're not in the match?" Sasuke asked. "I have to admit, I was looking forward to it after our fight."

Lee beamed, but then deflated. "Ah, I was poisoned."

"Well that's shit." Sasuke grimaced.

"Yeah. And I was sorry to hear you could not compete either, Sasuke. I was looking forward to fighting you."

The pair looked gloomy.

Guy patted both their backs. "You'll get there next time!" he said cheerfully. "Just keep up the hard work."

"Oh yes!" Lee perked up. "What made you so late anyway?"

"Kakashi." Sasuke scowled.

"I was good. We're not hours late." Kakashi pouted.

"You had a staring contest with a lizard, stopped at a puppy cafe where you were going to tell me about all the Uchihas you knew, and possibly why you have a Sharingan, but you managed to somehow get me invested in you being an ANBU and forgot to finish your story. Then you stopped for cuddly toys that you tried to name after Sakura, Naruto and I."

"Not tried," Kakashi corrected. "Did."

Guy perked up. "Kakashi's been telling you about his time spent with the Uchiha Clan? There's been quite a few, considering how reclusive they were."

"You tell me!" Sasuke demanded.

"There was Mikoto Uchiha, Shisui Uchiha, Izumi Uchiha obviously, Obito Uchiha-"

.::.

Obito sneezed.

.::.

"And uh... Um..." Guy fumbled.

"Itachi," Sasuke snapped. "I know his fucking name."

Guy threw his hands up in surrender. Kakashi sweat dropped.

"He was in ANBU with this idiot." Sasuke jerked his thumb at Kakashi. "And don't even complain, you tried to buy another dog."

"They were so cute..." Kakashi whined.

"You can't fit your baby in your apartment, never mind your dogs." Sasuke frowned. "And why do I recognise that name? Obito Uchiha?"

.::.

Obito sneezed again. What the fuck? He couldn't catch colds. Why was he sneezing so much? He glanced over at Kakashi's group, though shook his head. There was no way Kakashi would be talking about him, at least there was no reason for him too.

He was glad Kakashi finally managed to make it over here though. He had been having a lot of fun, though the joy had died off for a bit, before returning with a vengeance. A happy Kakashi was a good Kakashi in Obito's book. So it would be good to keep him that way.

.::.

"He was my mate," Kakashi sighed. "He died a long time ago, but he was the one I got our saying from about teamwork."

"So he's the reason why I didn't get to see Naruto being slapped silly," Sasuke grumbled.

Kakashi snorted. "Pretty much yeah."

.::.

Sakura jumped down from the stands to join Shikamaru and Naruto in the arena. She wanted to scream, maybe even runaway, because there were so many eyes staring at them, but this was her time now.

She had to do it!

And Sasuke was finally here to even watch her. She might even impress him.

"Cha! I'm all fired up and ready to go!" Sakura howled.

"Yeah! Go, Sakura!" Naruto cheered.

.::.

Sakura's water whips couldn't get past Gaara's defences, but they distracted him enough to let her land a punch, cracking through his armour. Sasuke watched in shock. Sakura had never looked so confident, or so capable. There were so many cheers and cries, as Sakrua threw her kunais, one of them cutting Gaara's cheek, and another lodging into his shoulder.

He screeched, and sand and water slammed into each other. Of course the sand grew too heavy and Sakura took advantage of this to throw paper bombs, throwing Gaara off his feet.

"She's doing well." Sasuke smirked. "Really well. Guess Izumi and you managed to teach her a few things, huh?"

Kakashi laughed. "Just a few."

"I think I might actually want to spar with her soon. Her and Naruto."

"Somebody call a doctor!" Kakashi gasped mockingly. "Sasuke is actually complimenting his teammates. I might faint!"

Guy sniggered.

"Yeah, yeah." Sasuke rolled his eyes. "You big drama queen."

Naruto sulked. "How come you're impressed by Sakura and not me?"

Naruto had bolted up here earlier screeching about Gaara being too dangerous. It had made Sasuke pause too, because Naruto actually sounded scared, but Kakashi had dismissed him. Told them just to watch Sakura.

And Sasuke did.

"I didn't get to see you fight this round," Sasuke pointed out, eyeing Kakashi. "Because of someone."

"Sorry, sorry," Kakashi said sheepishly.

"At least you won though." Sasuke nodded. "Good job."

Naruto grinned. "And I'll win the other rounds too!"

A flash of white caught Sasuke's eye. It looked soft, drifting down slowly. More of the fluffy white patches filled his eyes, and it took Sasuke a moment to realise they were feathers. His head felt heavy and cloudy. He wasn't tired though, not physically, no, he was only tired of Kakashi's bullshit...

Shit... No... Everyone was collapsing. This wasn't just exhaustion. This was a genjutsu!

Sasuke's eyes felt heavy, he tried to shake it off, tried to fight it, and he barely managed a clumsy release. The fogginess lifted and he flinched into awakening, only just giving himself enough time to block a kunai with his own.

"Shit!" Sasuke cursed. "What is going on?"

He risked a glance at the others. Lee was asleep, so was Ino and Choji and-

What the hell? Kakashi was asleep? Oh no, wait, he was just pretending. Bloody faker, but hopefully nobody would attack him because of that.

.::.

Obito smirked. Genjutsu huh? Of course all the jonin and many chunin shook it off, but all the guests, civilians and many of the genin collapsed into a deep sleep. A dark cloud of smoke exploded right where the Hokage and Kazekage were, and Obito almost laughed.

Another war was about to break out then. Typical.

He allowed a clone to take his place and pretend to sleep, while Obito swirled back into Kamui to watch. All the awake jonin and chunin were fighting, but thankfully Kakashi was being smart and pretended to sleep. A few genin were asleep around him, with the baby Uchiha scowling at anyone who so much as looked in their direction. Huh, baby Uchiha looked ready to murder people.

.::.

Yes, pretend to sleep for the sake of the baby. Kakashi knew that, but Guy had kept giving him such anxious looks until he actually curled into his seat and shut his eyes. Of course he listened out, and peeked, but otherwise Kakashi was very well behaved. Sasuke was standing close by, Sharingan active, and Kakashi had to fight off the urge to drag him down out of the way of the battle. Guy was thankfully keeping the enemy away from their group, but he couldn't hold out forever alone.

If only the baby didn't have to grow so much. Kakashi could have been helping out, but noooo, baby had to keep kicking him and stretch his stomach out, and make him feel ill, and yada yada.

This baby was the true evil right now.

.::.

Hinata had been instantly aware of the genjutsu. Kurenai sensei used them all the time, so how could she not be? Hinata broke out of it, but quickly regretted it. There was no way she could be of help here, especially not with Kiba drooling on her, fast asleep. She managed to hunker down beneath the seating when a kunai nearly sliced her ear off. Hinata dragged Kiba and Akamaru down too, and waited for some kind of opportunity that wouldn't get her killed. Hinata flinched when a shadow loomed over her and whirled around.

"Hello, Hyuga princess."

Her heart dropped.

Kumo Ninja. Two jonin ninja from Kumo.

"You're coming with us, flower."

She scrambled out of her crouch and threw herself over the chairs, trying to put space between her and the Kumo ninjas. Kiba would be fine. They weren't after him. She needed to get the Kumo ninja away. A hand reached out, just missing her hair, and but the other man was already in front of her and snatched her up. Hinata screamed, heard Kurenai shout, but something pricked her neck.

Hinata went limp, her muscles growing soft and relaxed. They didn't obey her and she completely surrendered to her kidnapper's grasp. He scooped her up beneath his arm and sprinted off. The world went by dizzyingly fast before it went dark.
