Chapter 35

Obito looked up from his scroll he had been reading back in Kakashi's new quarters. Kakashi's Omega was in full control right now, purring contently and clutching the pillows. He purred in response, earning a happy coo. Kakashi's eye was glazed over, his mate lost deep in his Omega, and the sight made Obito smile.

"Hello, Kashi."

"Obito," Kakashi greeted, purring. "Mate."

Obito sat his scroll aside and approached the bed, not resisting as Kakashi's Omega embraced him, snuggling in tight. Kakashi nuzzled Obito's scent gland, and his purrs deepened. Obito removed his mask and sat it aside, earning another coo. He hushed Kakashi, kissing his hair.

"You need to let Kakashi sleep," Obito said softly.

"But you're back. Mate is back."

"I know," Obito soothed, rubbing his back. "But Kakashi isn't allowed to know yet."

"But you're our mate!"

"Yes, but it's for Kakashi's own good, and the baby's." Obito frowned. "Too much stress isn't good, and your Alpha doesn't want either of you stressed. It's why you haven't told him, right?"

Not exactly. But Obito could pretend he hadn't used his Sharingan on Kakashi's Omega. His Omega didn't remember, too lost in pleasure during his heat, which kept the Omega sweet and docile. Kakashi's Omega had none of Kakashi's hesitation. If it wanted something, the Omega would claim it. Kakashi's Omega was fussy and demanding and Obito found it hilarious.

Kakashi's Omega whined, but nodded. "We need to look after our pup..." Omega mumbled drowsily.

"Exactly." Obito kissed his forehead. "So lie back down and let Kakashi sleep."

"But he is sleeping..." Omega complained, but obeyed, getting back underneath the blankets. "Lie with me?"

"Alright." Obito immediately climbed into bed, settling in against Kakashi's back. He couldn't help but rest one hand on Kakashi's stomach, his Alpha purring softly. Omega cooed and nuzzled him.

It still amazed Obito that they were having a baby together. It amazed Obito that they had still managed to bond together in this hell. But none of that joy would last. Konoha would get Kakashi killed someday, and their baby, a Hatake and Uchiha, they would suffer, maybe even die early, and Obito would kill everyone before he let that happen.

But no, there was no need to worry about that. Kakashi was in the Land of Water, in the Daimyo's castle. Obito had him and his guards under his control. No genjutsu was needed on the guards, oh no, he had only needed to play the compassionate advisor, an understanding friend who wanted to help them, to make their jobs as easy as possible. It was the same with the servants. They all craved praise and positive reinforcement. Now he had all these guards and servants who heeded his commands happily.

They had a few simple orders from him. Keep Kakashi in his wing of the castle, and look after him. Hopefully a simple enough rule to follow. If not, well the bracelet should help keep Kakashi in check. It would keep his chakra sealed, and if he tried to leave the castle it would sedate him. Nothing harmful, just something that would help Kakashi grow sleepy and calm.

Obito's thumb brushed against Kakashi's stomach. He hadn't realised he had slipped his hand beneath the pyjama top, but softened when he felt the skin against his own. White Zetsu was right. This only hardened his resolve, not that it had been weak at any point. But he was fully committed to the plan. It was the only way to keep his family safe.

His family.

Kakashi had given him such an amazing gift, and all he could do was lie to his mate. It had to happen though. This was all for Kakashi's own good, and their child's. He'd see that one day when Obito finished the project. They would all be happy. Him, Kakashi, their baby and Rin. Minato sensei and Kushina too. They could all be happy again. Their baby could have grandparents, Kakashi's parents and Obito's. The baby could have so many aunts and uncles, Rin being the best aunt of all time.

It would all be perfect.

Kakashi wasn't used to waking up so warm and comfortable. It was cosy and soft all around and beneath him and Kakashi just wanted to drift back off to sleep. There was a warm weight against his back and around his waist, and it took Kakashi a while to think through the fogginess that there was something on his stomach too. Something that felt soothing and safe. He felt safe with that weight against him.

He couldn't help but purr.

The weight against him shifted, nuzzling his neck, right against his scent gland, and Kakashi couldn't help but doze for a while longer. He happily took in his scent, and the scent of fire, smoke and earth. His bonded's scent.

Kakashi blinked sleepily. It took him a while to fight his way through the fogginess clouding his thoughts, but once he did he scowled. He had been kidnapped by Mr. Kidnapper again. The jerk. But the Alpha was lucky, because his hand felt so nice on his stomach, so that meant Kakashi wouldn't try to smother him with a pillow. Okay, Kakashi had to admit, it was strange having someone snuggled in against him, but it felt good. Really good. He felt so relaxed. But sadly he couldn't be. Kakashi shifted, turning to face Mr. Kidnapper who stared at him through the eye hole in his mask.

"You kidnapped me again." Kakashi scowled.

"I did."

"What happened to Konoha?" Kakashi sat up, looking around. It definitely wasn't any room he recognised, but he knew that Mr. Kidnapper would probably take him far away from the village to keep him safe. The only problem was that this didn't look like the inn either.

This was somewhere new, and even fancier than before. It reminded Kakashi of a Daimyo's room.

"It's rebuilding," Mr. Kidnapper said, leaning against the headboard. "The battle ended yesterday while you slept.

"Yesterday?" Kakashi gasped, then snarled. "What happened!"

"The Third Hokage defeated Orochimaru who escaped. Two out of your three pups recklessly fought off Gaara of the Sand, while the baby Uchiha and Izumi Uchiha watched people explode for passing by the Hatake seals on your estate, which bloody hell, by the way. You will also be pleased to know that all your friends were fine. Hardly a bruise on some of them."

Kakashi breathed out in relief. "That's good news. Then you'll take me back now?"

Mr. Kidnapper sighed. "No. I won't."

"You can't just keep me here!" Kakashi snarled. "Wherever here even is."

"Where you are is none of your concern. You are safe and secure-"

"You can't just keep me prisoner. I might be bonded to you, but I'm not your mate!" Kakashi protested, and grabbed a pillow, whacking it off Mr. Kidnapper. "You even said mates should be equals, but I don't feel like an equal in this relationship right now!"

Mr. Kidnapper yelped, ducking when Kakashi whacked it off him again. "Wait, Kakashi- Stop it! Oi! I know you don't, but you also don't understand why I'm doing this-"

"Because you want to keep the baby and I safe. I get it, but this isn't the way, nor is it right-"

"Okay, enough!" Mr. Kidnapper scoffed, finally just yanking the pillow from his grasp, much to Kakashi's disappointment. It felt good to hit the jerk. "As if anything in this world is right or fair. Don't be naive, Kakashi. It doesn't suit you."

"Things can change for the better. That's what the Will of Fire is all about-"

"Passing your will down to another? It's cruel and unjustified putting all your mistakes on to someone else to fix and calling it a pretty name like 'the Will of Fire'. It's adorable." Mr. Kidnapper laughed darkly, climbing out of bed tossing the pillow back down behind Kakashi.

Kakashi debated if he should launch it at Mr. Kidnapper this time.

Mr. Kidnapper grabbed a nightgown and put it over Kakashi's shoulders. Kakashi couldn't help but enjoy the feeling. The nightgown was so soft and fluffy- But no. No distractions! He was still a prisoner. Again. He was sick of being a prisoner. He was Kakashi the Copy Ninja. He wasn't supposed to be a prisoner. He was famous for escaping any kind of situation that would have left most people dead.

Well, this was a unique circumstance. So there was that... But still. Now here he was arguing with his baby daddy. Who had kidnapped him. Bloody hell.

"It's about love being the key to peace-" Kakashi argued.

"Yes, yes," Mr. Kidnapper dismissed. "It's a lovely ideal, and it would be nice if it worked, but to love something is also to run the risk of hatred." He glanced over Kakashi. "You love your students, and Orochimaru is actively trying to kidnap one of them, thus you hate him. You hate him for trying to hurt someone you love. That's fair, he is going to get Sasuke Uchiha killed."

"None of that even matters right now!" Kakashi snapped.

"On the contrary," Mr. Kidnapper drawled. "I think your lack of answer is more than enough to prove my point."

"Urgh, fine. Yes, I'm not optimistic enough to say everything can be all flowers and rainbows, but things can improve," Kakashi insisted.

"For a time perhaps, but then the elite argue and more blood is spilled on their account."

"And your suggestion is to kidnap people?" Kakashi arched a brow. "Because I don't think that will make you many friends."

He could feel Mr. Kidnapper's amused smirk. "No, just you. You're the only one I find worth in keeping safe."

"Yey," Kakashi said dryly. "I'm so relieved." He spotted a touch of silver at the edge of his eye and looked down, grimacing at the bracelet. "You put a chakra suppressor on me."

Mr. Kidnapper tilted his head. "You might be pregnant and chakra drained, Kakashi. But that makes you more dangerous than before. People will underestimate you, give you leeway, I however, know you far too well. You're crafty, and if I let my guard down you're going to escape."

Kakashi tugged at the bracelet. "I know quite a lot of people like being bought expensive gifts, but you're really supposed to give it to them rather than slap it on their wrists. Also you're meant to buy them stuff before sex, otherwise you're just acting like a sugar daddy-"

Mr. Kidnapper paused. "Wouldn't a sugar daddy buy their lover stuff before sexual favours so they can be encouraged to have sex with them?" Mr. Kidnapper shook his head. "No, wait, I'm not following your scatterbrain. Your thoughts have been wandering far too often these days."

"I wonder why." Kakashi glanced at his stomach, and gasped, a dramatic, over exaggerated gasp. "Holy moley, when did that get there?"

He couldn't see Mr. Kidnapper's face, but Kakashi hoped it was full of pain and suffering.

"Okay, look." Mr. Kidnapper ignored him. How rude. He sat back down on the edge of the bed next to Kakashi. "I'm the personal advisor of the Daimyo of the Land of Water. The guards here know you are with me, and they have orders not to let you out of my wing of the castle. You try to leave, and your bracelet will go off, and the Daimyo's elite will arrest you. Understand?"

The Daimyo's elites? What the hell? Who the hell was Mr. Kidnapper behind that mask? How was he such an important figure in the Land of Water's political structure?

"No, I'm even more confused," Kakashi admitted. "Why did the Daimyo's advisor of the Land of Water save me from Kumo? How did you even know I was captured in the first place? Okay, sure, I'm well known, but still this is just-"

Familiar lips closed over his own. Kakashi pulled away, tried to speak, but Mr. Kidnapper kissed away his questions, and gently laid him back down on the bed. Kakashi grumbled, but the kisses were soft, insistent and way too good. He moaned when Mr. Kidnapper deepened their kiss and surrendered to the pleasure.

.::.

Obito did not panic and decide to kiss Kakashi senseless all because he had no idea how to answer any of his questions. No, not at all. He just wanted to kiss Kakashi, that's all. A nice, loving kiss, that did not lead to sex.

No, definitely not.

He was not distracting Kakashi with sex. Not again. No way...

Okay, yes, he was distracting Kakashi with sex. But who could blame him? Kakashi was completely and utterly gorgeous, and a pain in the ass.
