Returning to the office in some more comfortable street clothes, Sasaki found the room empty. Bakugou was most likely off somewhere within the large building blowing off steam. Rather literally, she assumed he was in a training room blowing things up with his quirk. Making her way over to Kirishima's desk she sat herself down in his oversized chair. She almost felt like a child sitting in the chair that nearly had her feet dangling off the floor and her back and sides unable to touch all of the chair around her.
Dark eyes glance down at the papers that Kirishima had left abandoned on his desk in his rush to get out of the office once she had informed him he was late for his patrol. How any of their old teachers could read this man's writing made her wonder. Though it's not like Sakaki could really say anything. Her own penmanship was not much better than his. Which was all the more sad when she compared Kirishima, and her penmanship skills to Bakugou's. The blonde had some of the more beautiful writing. It was so not fair. Bakugou was good at almost everything. Though she would never tell him that. The blonde did not need the ego boost, his ego was already stroked enough as it was.
The dark haired woman tried to keep her focus on the paperwork ahead of her. Her right knee started to bounce. Her skin was still crawling. Damn it this was annoying. Her omega was scratching and clawing at the back of her mind. It was getting annoying that she could not just work in peace even after both men had left the room.
Glancing over to make sure she had closed the door behind her so no one could easily hear the conversation she was about to have. Pulling her cell phone out she flipped through her contacts finding the one she had been looking for. Hitting the name on the contact she lifted her phone up to her ear. It only took two rings before the familiar voice on the other side answered.
"Hello?" The voice asked.
"Hey Tenza. I need to stop in for a visit. Are you at work?" She asked as she glanced at the clock on the wall taking in the time and knowing full well at nearly 16 hundred hours that the man would be at work.
"Considering supper rush starts in under an hour of course I am," he answered flatly.
"Perfect, I'll stop in for a visit. I'm a half an hour away. See you soon," she said overly sweetly and heard the grunt before she hung up the phone. Now for the fun part. Getting out of the agency without being spotted by Bakugou nor anyone else as she was sure the front desk beta would rat her out if she was spotted leaving without either alpha she was nearly living with lately.
And she had no desire for Bakugou to go chasing her down while she was trying to get away from him. She was not some petulant child. She did not need a babysitter every single second of every day. She also did not want him with her during this little outing especially. Getting up she left the unfinished paperwork before slowly making her way out of the office and through the building. It was still too early for anyone to have gone home. A few sidekicks loitered around. Luckily with the agency being still new and rather small compared to most. Most of the active sidekicks were out on patrols. Getting past the front desk though was not really an option. The nice older beta woman almost never left that front desk. And if Sakaki tried to slip past she would surely be seen. Time for a new plan. She contemplated finding a window to open. But then she was reminded the large building probably did not have a window that would open anywhere. That was just asking for someone to break in.
That only really left the option of trying to find a way to get the front desk beta's attention away from the door. Still easier said than done. It would not be easy to draw attention away from the door while also not being seen anywhere nearby at the time.
By some magic diety the older beta suddenly stood up, her coffee mug in hand and started towards the break room. Sakaki could only assume she was going to fill up her coffee mug or grab a drink of some sorts. Either way this gave her the opening she needed as she wasted no time in walking across the lobby and out of the agency. No sidekick or hero to stop her from leaving. She could only assume Bakugou was still blowing shit up in the training room. She hoped he would stay there for a few hours.
Walking swiftly to the closest station she hopped on a train. It was fairly empty. Most people were still in the office, and school was probably just about to end so she imagined had it been only a few minutes later there may have been the first flood of students. But for now it was barren. Perfect.
She took a seat and relaxed until her stop came and she exited the train. Walking out of the train station she glanced around. No one had apparently followed her. Good. That made it simple to walk down the street with a happy sway to her hips. It felt oddly nice to not have her angry guard dog breathing down her neck.
After a block the neighborhood quickly started to grow a little dingy. Paint on a lot of buildings started to peel and crack, buildings quickly started to show their ages. Street lights became a little farther apart. The neighborhood quickly grew into an area that hero's clearly did not frequent. Looking for the old worn down bar, Sasaki smiled when the building came into view.
It was fairly small for being in the city. Not a lot of room for tables. There was the bar that lined one wall and probably only half a dozen tables. It was dimly lit with nice soft lighting and some music playing in the background. Calling it a bar probably was not exactly correct. With a smile on her hips she walked over and slid into a seat at the bar beaming a smile at the bartender who looked up from his prep work to see who had walked into the bar.
Bleached blonde hair sat as a shaggy mop on the man's head. Though he was honestly too old in Sakaki's opinion to be bleaching his hair and trying to look more disheveled than he was in an attempt to look younger. Though he looked like an idiot to most, Sakaki was well aware of the smarts the man actually had.
"Wow you actually made it. And look at you, you're even alone," the blonde said with a playful smile. Which earned him an eye roll.
"Shut up Tenza," she said flatly even as the man threw his arms up in defeat.
"Alright touchy subject. How about I get you a drink as an apology?" He asked, pulling out a glass and getting to work on making her a drink.
"Just some scotch. I don't have time to visit," she told him as she watched the fake blonde fill the glass with some ice before she continued, "I need my normal stuff. And also any chance you have any information on a man by the name of Taoka Kazuo?"
"You mean the man that wants your head on a platter? Sure. I've heard a few things. He's pissed off at you, as well as the hero's Dynamite and Red Riot. A lot of people think he's being stupid by going after two top ten hero's. But it sounds like he is not happy he lost a warehouse. Had to clear it out and everything after he found two hero's poking their noses around," Tenza said as he poured the scotch over the ice in the glass.
"Yeah that would be him. It was me and Dynamite who were staking out his warehouse. But before we could even think of raiding it we were noticed. I am still not sure how that happened. He also tried to attack me while I was just walking home with a friend. Thanks to that I know have a fucking guard dog breathing down my neck every minute. I'm stuck with an alpha glued to my back every waking moment now. You have no idea how hard it was to get away for this," she was nearly growling by the end. As soon as the glass of liquor was slid over towards her she took a large mouthful and welcomed the burn of liquor down her throat.
"Huh I heard you have been working a lot with the number two hero," the blonde smirked at her.
"Ugh I wanna go back to work for Mirko. But till I arrest Taoka I'm being fucking pimped out to the Dynamite agency," Sakaki said with a scrunch of her nose and she shot back the rest of her drink.
"Just be careful. There's a lot of people out for your head. Taoka has deep pockets and you have a lot of enemies," the blonde warned.
"Oh I am aware. Hero's are not liked on any good day with those in the shadows. Now what about my other stuff? Do you have my normal stuff?" She asked as she could feel her cell phone vibrating in her pocket. Seemed there was a good chance someone noticed she was missing already. That was faster than she wanted.
"I only got one pack. I'll have more in a week or two," reaching under the bar the blonde pulled out a little packet. Sliding it across the table Sakaki scooped it up to eye the packet with only five small pills contained within. She frowned at the small amount of pills. That would not be enough to last even a week.
"I shouldn't have to remind you. Do not double up your suppressants. Do not mix those with your current prescription. And that I do not know how your body will react to the high dosage," the older blonde droned on.
"You ain't my doctor," she snapped before taking a deep calming breath before she continued, "I know what all of the risks are. And I know that doubling my current suppressants with this higher dose could cancel them both out. But I need to do something. Being around multiple alphas day and night is starting to drive my omega crazy."
That admittance just earned her a head shake from the beta man.
"Your body is going to be fried. If you're not careful you could do irreparable damage to yourself," he still warned even as Sakaki slipped the pills into her pocket and pulled out some money to slide across the table. It was more cash than the single drink and small pack of pills was worth.
"I've already done a lot of damage," she admits softly under her breath as she stands up from her chair. "Let me know if you hear anything else about Taoka Kazuo."
She gave a wave of her hand and did not look back as she stepped out of the small hole in the wall bar and pulled out her cell phone as she started back towards the train station. But of course she had missed a number of calls from primarily Bakugou, but also Kirishima. Hitting the redial on his number she held the phone up to her ear and waited. It only took one ring and she could hear the rather panicked voice on the other end.
"Sakaki. Are you alright? You were not at the agency. No one knew where you were. Did someone kidnap you? Are you okay?" The questions started to fly. And for a split second she felt bad having left without telling Kirishima where she had gone.
"Sorry Red. I decided I needed a coffee. Bakugou was pissed off and you were out on patrol. I'm just making my way back now. I'll be back at the agency in about twenty minutes," she said though that did seem to please the red head a little that she was okay. But it seemed he did the math.
"Twenty minutes? Where in the world are you having coffee? In Hosu?" He asked, realizing she had not just walked three minutes down the sidewalk to one of the nearby coffee shops. Though asking if she went as far as Hosu was a stretch. She had not gone that far.
"No, I just wanted to get out of our recent patrol routine area so people would be less likely to harass me or draw attention," she said simply as she walked into the train station and realized the train about to leave was one she needed. Perfect she would not have to wait for the next one.
"You really should have told someone where you were going, or taken a sidekick with you," Kirishima was starting to sound like a scolding mother. It almost made her laugh.
"Bakugou is going crazy, I'm pretty sure he was about to sick every agency in the city out to look for you. I know he was sending sidekicks out looking. Please try to hurry back," Kirishima had continued on as he told her about how worried Bakugou was.
"I am already on the train. I won't be long. Wanna take bets on if Bakugou fires a Howitzer Impact at me?" She asked with a light chuckle but Kirishima did not find it funny.
"He probably is going to attack you when he sees you. You had everyone really worried when you did not answer the phone and no one knew where you were," Kirishima said and that quickly made her sober up even though the one drink was not enough to actually make her drunk.
"I am sorry Kirishima. I did not think leaving would cause so many issues," she said with a soft sigh and more guilt eating at her. She didn't care if she pissed off Bakugou, but upsetting and making Kirishima worry about her did not sit well with her. Damn guilty conscience.
"I'm making my way back to the agency. I'll try and calm down Bakugou before you get there," Kirishima said, at least still trying to act as a buffer between the war he knew was about to break out between the two hero's he worked with.
"Thanks Kirishima. I'll see you soon," she said before deciding to end her call. She let out a deep breath. She may have fucked up. But still, taking Bakugou with her was not a real option. Bakugou would be easy to spot. And if the wrong person saw her and him together and then walking into that empty bar. It could get Tenza in trouble and she did not want that. He was an important information broker but also he got her higher dosage suppressants and didn't lace them with anything. Him being a beta made it slightly easier to trust him. She also helped keep him from getting arrested for selling drugs to other omegas under the table like this.
That had been how she met the thirty year old man. She was supposed to find and bust people selling illegal drugs. It was one of her first solo jobs. And honestly she had no issues busting and arresting scum bags selling drugs on the streets. But when she reached out to pretend to be an omega looking for drugs, which really was not much of a farce. She found out the beta did what he did to try and help get omegas who could not afford them normally.
That made her hesitate to just arrest him. And honestly once she realized he could get her better suppressants than her doctor would give her now she decided to become a client. But only when she was desperate to get something stronger for times like now where her body went even more haywire than normal. She also liked to pay him for information from time to time as well.
Tenza had proved in the last few years to be incredibly helpful at times. And so she turned a blind eye to his illegal actions and had even given a warning a time or two to make sure he didn't find himself somewhere he could be arrested. He scratched her back and she would scratch his. She just could not let anyone in her line of work learn what she did. Surely she would lose her hero licence if she was not careful. But she hated the idea that omegas just trying to buy suppressants was so illegal.
Then again the world loved to turn a blind eye to omegas and their troubles. No one liked to admit omegas were still heavily suppressed. Some alphas still treat their omegas like livestock or nothing more than baby making machines. Some alphas would not allow their omegas to use suppressants or contraceptives. A lot of suppressants also contain a birth control. And Tenza worked hard to get those abused omegas what they needed. If it made her a criminal she did not care, she could not rip those important drugs away from those omegas that needed them. Not when there were people selling actual dangerous drugs.
Drugs that killed people, drugs that cause addictions and destroyed families, and drugs that could cause quirks to go berserk or be issues for all around them. Those were drugs that should not be on the street, those were the people who needed to be hunted down and arrested. And those were the people she did work hard to arrest.
The train announced it was stopping at the station she needed to get off at as it shook her from her mind. She let out a soft groan as she stopped off the train. She was now dreading returning to the agency and what she knew was going to be a very pissed off alpha and a shit storm she did not feel like dealing with at this moment. Suddenly she did not care about the risk of doubling her meds. She pulled the baggy from her pocket. Pulling out a single small pill she popped it in her mouth and dry swallowed the pill. She could only hope that would quiet the annoying clawing in the back of her mind and the feeling of her skin crawling. Her omega was already starting to feel stressed at the idea of returning to an upset alpha.
