- Midoriya Residence -

When Izuku entered his home, his mother came rushing up to him.

"IZUKU! IZUKU-DEAR!" Inko came running up to him, her voice sounding frantic, "OH, MY BABY! ARE YOU ALRIGHT?!"

Izuku looked dumbfounded, blinking at his mother's crying face, "Um, yeah, Mom, I'm okay. What, uh, what happened?"

"What happened?! Izuku-dear, have you heard about what occurred today?!" Inko exclaimed in a panic.

"...Oh," Izuku realized what his mother was talking about, "Um...yeah, I-I did. I...saw the news. I even saw the whole thing going down back at school," he frowned as he looked down at the floor with a bothered expression.

"Oh my goodness! You mean...you saw All Might get his Quirk taken away?! And all those poor Heroes that were killed?!" Inko asked in horror.

"Not only that, but I heard Endeavor was taken as well," Izuku commented.

As well as other things, like the League and Todoroki's brother, but I don't want to go into that with Mom.

"Oh, dear! So that part was true? I heard about it in some news outlets, but I didn't think they'd take Endeavor as well!" said Inko in shock.

"Yeah..." Izuku still had that look of worry, his eyes gazing hard at the ground, thinking of what these Villains could possibly do to the two captive Heroes.

"Oh, Izuku-dear..." Seeing her son look so serious, she frowned and placed a hand on his shoulder, making Izuku look up at his mother, "Don't worry...I know this must be hard on you. All Might is your number-one Hero...and, well, I saw how he looked. He looked so...oh dear, he looked so malnourished."

"...Yeah..." Izuku closed his eyes and sighed, "Well, as you can see, we were left off early today. I...I really just need to be in my room right now."

Inko nodded, "Oh certainly. It's been a lot today...but Izuku-dear?"

Izuku looked at his mother, "Huh? Yeah, Mom?"

"...I saw that Joker man on the TV..." Inko then looked grim, which was a scary look from her, "...I am so glad you and your friends were spared."

"...Yeah..." Izuku said, the frown turning solemn.

"I...I heard he was Quirkless..." Inko's expression then turned...somewhat ashamed as she looked down to not gaze at her son. "I...I want to apologize again."

Izuku blinked and looked at her in confusion, "Apologize again? Wh-What do you mean?"

"...I...I've really been a horrible mother to you," Inko said to him, her eyes tearing up.

His eyes widened in shock, "What? Mom, wha-what's this about?"

"...I should've been more supportive. Should've been..." Inko looked up at Izuku with tears pouring down her face, "I shouldn't have said what I said back when you were four! I should've supported you and..." she sniffled, "I...I'm just so glad you're not like that horrible Joker person!"

Izuku froze at that.

First of all, the thought of him becoming some kind of monster like Joker was...it gave him chills.

It's not like he hadn't thought about it, plenty of times in fact, but having his mother mention about it, it gave him the impression that it was a possible outcome. If he wasn't strong enough to follow his dream as a Hero, then he might've well become...just like...him...

Secondly...his mother was blaming herself...again...

"...Mom...please don't blame yourself," Izuku told her softly.

"B-But, I-I said the one thing you didn't want to hear! That would've made any child h-h-hate their mother!"

"But I didn't."

Inko blinked in surprise, the tears still rolling down her face.

Izuku explained, "I meant what I said two days ago. I never hated you for that...never. You were just trying to look out for me...you loved me as any mother would love her son...I mean it. I love you, Mom. And it was your love that kept me going...you cared about me so much...like I cared immensely about you..." Now the boy was tearing up in his eyes, "Don't ever put yourself down, Mom. It was you who helped me get through those dark places I went...you are the most wonderful mother that I could ever have...ever," Izuku then smiled warmly to his mother, "In fact, you are my Hero...thank you, Mom. I love you so much."

Inko looked at his son, stunned that he gave her such praise. She believed the praise he gave her two days back, but that small part of her mind still made her think that that was only just at the spur of the moment, the right words to say when someone got as emotional as them. All her life as a mother, she felt like she disappointed her son...but now, she was reassured that that wasn't the case. Now she can finally get this tremendous weight off her shoulders...

She smiled at her son in relief, mixed with the same warmth that he was giving her, "Oh, Izuku-dear...th-thank you...you are the most wonderful son a mother could ever ask for. I'm...I'm so proud of you."

Izuku couldn't help the tears falling down his face as well, his smile shaky as he too was filled with emotion. "Thank you...thank you so much, Mom."

Inko then gave her son a hug, a tender but tight hug, to which Izuku returned the hug fully.

Both mother and son stayed there as they hug, the care and warmth shown as they hugged each other, the feeling of pure love and respect flowing out of them...

...It was then, a knock was on their door.

KNOCK-KNOCK-KNOCK!

Izuku and Inko broke their hug and the former turned around to look at the front door in slight confusion.

"Huh?" Izuku uttered.

Even Inko was puzzled, "Oh my. I wonder who would come here at this time? Especially with what's happening right now?"

"Yeah..." Izuku came to the front door and looked through the peephole.

...He backed away, his eyes widened in shock.

"Izuku-honey? What is it?" Inko asked him, a little worried about his reaction.

"Uh...w-we...well, I guess we have...a-an unexpected v-visitor?" Izuku said, a little bit in a shocked daze.

"Oh? W-Well, who is it, Honey?"

"...Um...s-somone I...uh, someone I know."

KNOCk-KNOCK-KNOCK!

"HELLO!? IS THE THE MIDORIYA RESIDENCE!?" said a very scraggly old man's voice.

"Oh my..." Inko looked at her son, "You know who this person is, Izuku?"

"...Um...yeah...Mom, I...I think now..." Izuku turned to his mother, "Mom, when I let this guy in, he might...say some interesting things that are...w-well, these things are pretty much involved with...well, they will be revolved around my Quir-"

KNOCK-KNOCK-KNOCK!

"HEY! MIDORIYA!? KID!? YOU THERE!? THIS IS THE RIGHT ADDRESS, RIGHT!? I DIDN'T RUN HERE ALL THE WAY FROM HOSU CITY FOR NOTHIN', DID I!?"

"...Oh dear. I think you should let him in now, Izuku," Inko sweatdropped, "Besides, this man might disrupt the neighbors if he keeps hollering like that."

KNOCK-KNOCK-KNOCK!

"MIDORIYA!? DON'T MAKE ME KICK THIS DOOR DOWN! I KNOW THAT'S NOT VERY KIND, BUT THIS IS A VERY SERIOUS MATTER!"

"...Yeah, I probably should," Izuku nodded.

In the foyer was...Gran Torino.

But instead of his Hero costume, he's wearing a yellow-collared buttoned-up shirt, blue jeans with a cowboy belt, and brown cowboy boots. He's also not wearing the eye face mask. The elderly man looks kind of like a cowboy almost, maybe even a Texan...of course, the only thing that stands out from his casual attire, is the cane that he's holding.

"Took ya long enough!" Gran Torino gruffly said, also known as Sorahiko Torino. He turned to Inko, and blinked when he saw her...he then bowed, "Oh! Afternoon, Miss."

"Oh, um...thank you. Um, excuse me for asking, but w-who are you?" Inko asked.

"Who am I? Why, I taught this kid here how to control his Quirk during his internship!" he turned to Izuku, "You didn't tell your mother about me!?"

"I-I did, but I just called you by your Hero name!" Izuku defended, "I-I thought if I said more about you, some stuff will come out and...y-you know!"

"Hmm!? What do you mean!? You're not that extremely careless, are you, Kid!?" Torino scolded him.

"Hero name? C-Controlling your Quirk?" Inko blinked. Turning to her son, she asked once more, "Um, Izuku-Honey, what's going on here?"

"Uh..." Izuku sweatdropped as he took a deep sigh, "...How about we sit down?"

"That's actually a good idea! I ran all the way over here, and I'm absolutely pooped!" Torino commented.

"Oh, uh...w-would your...internship instructor? Uh...would he want anything to have? A drink? Um...maybe a snack?" Inko offered.

"Oh, why thank you, kind Miss! That would be great! Do you have any taiyaki?"

"Um...I have a box of them in the fridge. They're chocolate filled if you like that kind."

"Chocolate-filled, eh? Never tried that before! Always had red bean pasted-filled taiyaki. Either way, I'm up for something flaky and sweet. Sure thing, Miss, I would like to try that!"

"Oh, okay. Um...well, I'll prepare them then," Inko walked over to the kitchen to get the taiyaki prepared, leaving Torino and Izuku alone.

Torino then turned to the boy, "Your mother is really nice, kid."

"Oh, uh...thanks," Izuku blinked in confusion.

"Hm. Now...we should probably sit down and discuss why I'm really here," Torino advised.

Izuku's expression turned from confusion to a gradual grim look on his face. "...Yeah...you saw the news then?"

"Saw the news? I almost nearly had a heart attack when that Joker maniac basically erased..." Now Torino looked grim, "...Poor Toshinori...he didn't even get to use One For All to his maximum."

"Yeah...he...he didn't deserve that defeat," Izuku muttered solemnly.

"He didn't deserve it period," Torino said with a shake of his head as he walked to the couch in the living area and sat on it.

Izuku walked over to the cushioned chair that was near the couch and sat down on it also, "So...what now?"

"Eh? What now?" Torino turned to look at him oddly, "Well, I guess that's when you step in, kid."

"R-Really?" Izuku said in surprise, "B-But I'm still learning!"

"Well, you might need to learn a lot faster, kiddo," Torino looked down at the coffee table placing his hands on his cane while it rested on the floor, "I can't believe some mask-wearing thug did in All Might."

"Joker is someone that we shouldn't underestimate," Izuku said seriously, causing Torino to look up at the boy with a raised brow. "He's a cold, calculating, sadistic, and crazy psychopath. He raided the home of one of my friends, killed my friend's closest workers, let his henchmen kill multiple Heroes, took away All Might's Quirk, killed Sir Nighteye, and just burned down a whole entire Yakuza organization, burning their leader while he was still alive. I think he's more than just a thug."

"...Well, damn, Sonny. I don't know about all that beginning stuff."

Izuku blinked dumbfounded, "You mean you didn't see the news about the Yaoyorozu Estate being ransacked on Wednesday night?"

"Kid, I'm an old man. I need my rest. Besides, the nightly news can be depressing sometimes," Torino sighed, "But I actually did run over here, train be damned. I ran to find your residence after I saw the news of All Might losing his Quirk...losing One For All to be more precise."

"Wait...you really ran here?"

"Of course! I was worried for Toshi! You think I was going to wait for a train and let more time be wasted while he was being kidnapped, those Villains doing who knows what to him?!"

"...Wow, you must be in really good shape."

"Damn straight I am! But that's not what's important right now!" Torino leaned on his cane as he sat on the couch, "I actually thought he would lose One For All when he fought All For One with all that he's got."

"All For...One?" Izuku asked in confusion.

"Eh?" Torino looked at the teen, "Didn't he tell you about All For One?"

"Tell me about...? Uh, no, not really?" Izuku blinked in puzzlement.

"...You mean to tell me that dunderhead didn't tell you about that evil bastard?!" Torino asked in surprise with wide eyes.

"Uh...I-I think I heard about All For One before, but he was just a myth...r-right?"

"...Ugh," Torino groaned and rubbed his temples, "That blasted coward...let me guess, he didn't tell you about Nana?"

"Uh...Nana?" Izuku's face said all that Torino should know.

"...Damn it, Toshi," Torino mumbled. He looked at the green-haired boy, "Nana is...well, do you happen to know a Hero named Sylph?"

Izuku's eyes widened at the name, "Sylph? Y-Yeah! A-All Might said that he knows her! ...Wait..." a look of realization appeared on his face, "...Is this...Nana the Sylph Hero that All Might respected?"

"...In more ways than one. And yes," Torino answered with narrowed eyes, "Nana was also the seventh bearer of One For All."

That bombshell made Izuku freeze in his seat, his breath hitched in shock.

"She was also my good friend," Torino revealed, "Her and I go way back. We worked together back in our Hero days."

"...W-Wait...so what you're saying is...Sylph is...All Might's predecessor?" Izuku asked.

Torino nodded firmly, "Yes. That's correct."

"...Wow...w-what happened to her?" Izuku also asked.

"...Simply put, she was killed during her battle with All For One," Torino muttered, a frown on his face as he gazed at the floor.

"All For One? You say that name, but...is he real?" Izuku asked in curiosity.

"Believe me, kid, he's more real than One For All being in you," Torino clarified.

"Wait...One For All...All For One?" Izuku said slowly, letting that sink in.

"You see the similarities, don't you?" Torino sighed solemnly, "Let's just say...One For All and All For One have sort of a…'who's better' sibling rivalry going on."

"...Huh? I...I don't really quite understand," Izuku asked, a little bit confused.

Torino sighed again, this time in exasperation, "Hoo boy...I'm not one for explaining things, but apparently that blockhead didn't have any time at all to tell you the whole story."

"The...whole story? Of-Of what?"

"The story of One For All, of course."

"The story of...One For All? M-My Quirk?"

"Yes. I might be here for a while, so I can only hope you'll listen to this long story," Torino told him, "Which by the way...I wonder when those taiyaki will be coming out? It usually takes two minutes for them to heat up…what kind of brand does your mother have?"

"Oh-u-uh, um, here they are!" Inko said in a completely faux normal and cheerful-sounding voice as she entered the den area. When she set the plate of chocolate-filled taiyaki down on the table, she just stood there with a smile on her face...however, she looked to be shaking a little bit...

...Which...was a little suspicious.

Izuku and Torino looked at Inko…

"...Mom? You okay?" Izuku asked her.

Inko, startled as her smile instantly disappeared, now started to react a little nervously, her reply being a little shaky, "Oh! U-Um, yes! W-Why do you ask that, Izuku?"

"...Um...Mom..." Izuku turned to Torino, who was looking at Inko with a...curious expression. It looked like he was...reminiscing, his mouth in a thin line as his eyes gazed at his mother like he was...contemplating on who she is...

"...Uh..." Izuku continued and turned his attention back to his mother, "Mom, be honest...did you...hear some of the stuff that Gran Torino and I were talking about?"

"Oh! W-Well, I was-I mean, I-I wasn't-well, I was just in the kitchen! Of course I didn't h-hear you and Mr. Gran Torino!" Inko said shakily.

"..." Izuku looked at her with a deadpan expression.

"..." Torino just looked at Inko, almost like he was trying to decipher a code.

"...Gran Torino?" he turned his head to his internship mentor.

"Hm?" Torino turned to him with a curious look.

"Um...do you think...my Mom can be in on this...story that you're going to tell?" Izuku asked.

"...Hm," Torino nodded and turned to Inko, "It's alright, Miss. I think it's time more than any that you know about your son's Quirk that magically appeared out of nowhere."

Inko stopped shaking and blinked, "Huh? I-uh, I-I don't know what you mean-"

"Mom, seriously, I know you were eavesdropping. You're also bad at lying like me. I think it's time I tell you what's really going on," Izuku said in a deadpan tone.

"...O-Okay," Inko looked like a deer caught in a car's headlights, frozen as she looked a little nervous.

Izuku sighed and turned to Torino with a nod, "Okay. We're ready to hear the whole story."

Izuku and Inko(who decided to sit on one of the cushioned chairs next to her son) both listened intently to Gran Torino as he explained the whole All For One and One For All story, up to it reaching its climax. Once he finished the story, Izuku and Inko all sat there, taking everything that was told to them into account.

"...Wow..." Izuku sat there stunned.

"...Oh my..." Inko also sat there, feeling a bit anxious after hearing all of this.

"Hmm," Torino nodded, "So you see, Miss, your son has a Quirk like none other. It was given to him by the one and only All Might. And your son is the ninth successor of One For All."

"...This is a lot to take in," Inko put a hand on her head as she tried to clear it.

"I mean, this is all new to me too, Mom..." Izuku then turned his attention to her and said with a shamefaced look, "I'm really sorry, Mom. I-I was going to tell you...when...when I graduated..."

Inko looked at her son, now giving him a deadpan look and tone, "You were going to wait three years to tell me you got a Quirk from All Might?"

"I...well, I...I mean, it sounded right at the time," Izuku rubbed the back of his head in shame, "I'm...I'm really sorry, Mom. I just didn't know what your reaction would be if I told you sooner."

"...Well...the first thing I would've said was that you'd cheated," Inko said honestly.

"W-WHAT!?" Izuku exclaimed in shock.

"Now hold on, Miss!" Torino interjected, "Even though your son was given a Quirk, that Quirk is still his and his alone! He earned it from All Might!"

"I'm not finished," Inko said calmly.

Both Izuku and Torino paused in their seats.

"...But seeing how you're so happy with achieving your dream and going as far as where you are now...I don't necessarily see the Quirk in you."

"...Um...o-...kay?" Izuku was a little confused.

So was Torino, who blinked.

"What I mean is, I only see you doing what you wanted to do when you were little..." Inko lowered her gaze to her lap, the feeling of guilt coming back to her, "..." she turned her attention back to Izuku, "And really...you did some extraordinary things even without a Quirk. Like saving that Yaoyorozu girl's life."

Izuku blushed as he now looked down at his lap, "I mean...well..." he smiled at that, and even though he once stared at the face of Death, she was safe. "...Yeah..."

Inko nodded with a smile and a hum, "Mm-hm. And you are certainly a Hero, with or without a Quirk."

The boy then started to tear up in his eyes. He turned to his mother and gave him a warm smile, "Thank you, Mom."

She smiled with warmth too, "...Now the second thing..."

"Huh?" Izuku blinked.

"...You should've told me about those broken bones you did to yourself," Inko said, her expression a little bit a mix between stern and calm.

"...Yes, Ma'am," Izuku sweatdropped, nervous.

"...Hm...and you know how to control your Quirk now, right?"

"...Y-Yes, Mom..."

"...Good..." Inko turned her attention to Torino, "You taught him how to control it, right?"

Torino looked at Inko and thought one thing.

This lady definitely reminds me of...Nana...

"Um...yes, Ma'am. Although, your son figured it out all by himself. He's a pretty smart lad."

Inko smiled in pride, "Well, my son is quite the genius."

"Mom..." Izuku muttered in embarrassment.

"Well! Either way, if my Izuku can control his Quirk a lot more now, then everything will be fine with me as he goes further on his education in UA!" Inko confirmed.

"Oh, why that's mighty great of you to say, Miss! Your boy seems to be a fast learner as well since he and his friends took care of the Hero Killer!"

Izuku blanched in terror, his face white as a sheet.

"...What?" Inko asked, her expression blank.

"Hm?" Torino looked at Izuku, "You didn't even tell your mother about how you and your two friends beat Stain?"

"...Uh..." Izuku felt a cold chill run down his spine.

"Izuku? Dear? What does he mean by that?" Inko asked as she looked at her son with a deathly stare directed at him.

"...Um...I, uh...I was going to tell you that eventually..." Izuku said with a sheepish smile.

"...Were you?" Inko said, her tone uncomfortably calm.

Torino blinked. "Um...should I exit out of the room? Will this, uh...be a private matter?"

"Oh yes, Mr. Gran Torino, just step outside for a moment," Inko said as looked at Torino with a forced smile that actually sent Torino chills down his spine.

"...Um...yes, Ma'am," Torino then hopped off the couch and walked out with the cane in his hand as fast as a guy with a cane could walk...and he really didn't need the cane, he can run fine, he just forgot he could.

After the front door closed, Inko and Izuku were alone...the former now radiating a raw energy that would definitely put Kacchan to shame.

"...If it makes you feel any better, my friends helped me out on defeating Stai-"

"WHAT ARE YOU TRYING TO DO TO YOUR MOTHER!?"

Torino stood outside of the apartment and waited...for around five minutes...he heard all the screaming from Izuku's mother and Izuku trying to defend himself...

...Then, the front door opened, and Inko came out, a bright smile and all.

"Okay then! Everything is fine now!" she assured the old man.

Torino looked and blinked at the woman, "Uh...okay..."

He entered back into the Midoriya residence and sees in the den area that Izuku was...hunched over in shame as he sat in his seat.

"...You weren't too mad at him, were you?" Torino asked her.

"Well, I was shocked, but Izuku explained everything. I'm just glad my boy is alright, as well as his friends," Inko then told Izuku, "Oh, dear, don't slouch, Izuku, you have to have good posture."

"...Yes, Mom," Izuku then sat upright, his face looking a little ashamed.

"Oh dear, don't be like that! You explained everything to me! I'm not upset anymore!" Inko reassured her son.

"...Still, I feel bad..." Izuku said.

"Don't be. But, instead of just telling me all of these things at the last minute, do tell me everything that has happened to you from now on, okay Honey?"

"...Yes, Ma'am."

Inko turned to Torino, now her expression a little serious as she whispered, "I heard that you ran all the way here. That was literal, wasn't it?"

"Eh? Oh, uh, yes Ma'am."

"Well, how about I let you stay here for a while so you can get your legs going again? By the way, what is your Quirk?"

"...Uh, my Quirk is Jet, Ma'am. And you don't have to do that."

"Oh please, it's the least I can do. I mean, your pupil is...well, he's kidnapped and he lost his Quirk. And I'm certain this visit is not the reason why you came all the way from Hosu to Musutafu, isn't it?"

"...Actually, no. It isn't the only reason. I need to get to a good friend of All Might's and ask him what the next course of strategy is."

"Ah...hmm..." Inko stood there as she thought, "...Well you can stay here for a while until this whole situation is resolved."

"Eh? Oh, no, Ma'am, I can get a motel room here. Besides, who knows how long this will take with that maniac out there?"

"Oh nonsense. It won't cost you anything if you stay here. And yes, I am well aware that this could very well be a national emergency, but I think...well, I think Izuku needs a male figure with him right now. More than ever, really."

"Huh? Where's the boy's father?"

"Oh, well...he's over in America...i-it's part of his job, the work being in America."

"Oh..." Torino glanced at Izuku, who in turn looked at the elderly man with a blink, wondering what they were talking about, "...Eh, okay. I need to test the boy on his Quirk and reflexes again, anyways," he turned to Inko, "Thank you for offering me a place to stay, Miss."

"Oh, it's no problem!" Inko said with a grateful smile. Her smile then faded as she said, "I just hope All Might and Endeavor will be alright until then."

"...I really hope so as well..." Torino gazed down at the floor in thought.

Toshi...I hope you can hold up...just stay strong. One For All isn't completely gone…

And so, Inko told Izuku that Torino would be staying at their place for a while, which surprised the boy, but he didn't reject the idea, actually glad to have a male presence with them right now. During the passing hours, each of them watched the TV to calm themselves, if only for any live breaking news that could tell them about where All Might and Endeavor would be. Upon hours of hearing nothing so far, Izuku and Torino decided to get some stress out of them by sparring outside. After a couple of hours of Quirk sparring, Inko ordered everyone takeout and they all ate supper. When all of them were done eating, Izuku decided to go to his room, saying he might turn in early. Worried for his boy, but not wanting to put any more stress on him, she let him be. However, because of his old age, Torino was getting tired as well and decided to turn in for the evening as well. He had a futon next to Izuku's bed and slept there, while Izuku was on his bed and looking at his phone to see the texts his friends left for him.

He was in a group chat with Iida, Uraraka, Jirou, Kaminari, Ashido, and Asui(Yaoyorozu and Todoroki were left out for whatever reason) discussing their day, as well as the upcoming provisional license tests coming up.

Uraraka: Man, I can't wait to get going on this Provisional License Test! I feel so much valor to do something now!

Jirou: Calm down, Uravity. We have to wait for this.

Kaminari: I'm a little nervous, to be honest.

Jirou: Don't sweat it! You may be slow, but I'm pretty sure you'll pass with flying colors!

Kaminari: Wow. Thanks, Jirou! ...You, uh...you meant that, right?

Jirou: Course I meant it, ya goof.

Kaminari: Heh. ;)

Ashido: Okay, lovebirds, not in the chat! Hehe!

Jirou: WHAT?

Kaminari: HUH?

Iida: Ashido! Don't harass Kaminari and Jirou! Let their relationship blossom more so they can be more accustomed to each other!

Kaminari: ...

Jirou: ...

Asui: ...Well, Iida just said that.

Uraraka: Whoa, Iida! Was that intentional?

Iida: Huh? I thought it was obvious that Kaminari and Jirou were together! Are they not?

Ashido: LOL! Wow, I'm surprised Iida can see it too! I guess all that is left is Todoroki to figure it all out!

Kaminari: ...Sheesh, guys, leave us alone.

Jirou: Yeah. We didn't come to this chat to actually be harassed, ya know?

Midoriya: Oh, speaking of Todoroki, has anyone heard from him?

Ashido: No worries, Midori! I texted him just like I promised!

Asui: You did?

Ashido: Yep! We talked a bit.

Uraraka: Wow! Did you and Todoroki discuss anything?

Ashido: Well, yes, but I mean...I rather just keep it all between him and me. Sorry, it's a little personal.

Uraraka: Oh, okay...

Iida: Hm. Well, it's good that you lend an ear to Todoroki, Ashido!

Ashido: Yeah...poor guy. I can't say anything, but he's been through a lot.

Midoriya: Yeah...hey, um...has anyone heard of Yaoyorozu lately?

Uraraka: Yaomomo? Well, not recently.

Asui: Nope.

Ashido: Nah-uh.

Jirou: I've heard from her.

Midoriya: You have?

Jirou Yeah... X)

Midoriya: ...Uh...was...was that at me?

Jirou: Now what makes you say that, Green?

Kaminari: Just so you know, Jirou told me.

Midoriya: ...T-Told you what?

Ashido: Haha! Wow, you're stuttering in text, Midori?

Midoriya: No! I was just...uh...

Uraraka: Wait, what's going on?

Asui: Yeah, I'm a little confused.

Iida: Has something happened?

Jirou: Oh SOMETHING happened alright...but it's with Midoriya and Yaomomo.

Midoriya: ...Jirou, please. Stop.

Jirou: Oh no, no, no. We got to tell EVERYBODY before Yaoyorozu might come in or when we see her on Monday.

Midoriya: Jirou, seriously, we didn't do-

Kaminari: Yaoyorozu and Midoriya almost kissed, dude!

Jirou: Kam! Come on, man, I was gonna say it!

Kaminari: Sorry! The suspense was killing me.

Ashido: WHAAAAT!?

Asui: Oh wow. Wait, they ALMOST kissed?

Uraraka: Oh...well, that's great, Midoriya!

Iida: Yes! It would seal the deal for you to have a firm foundation in your relationship!

Midoriya: WAIT! We just, I mean, we didn't really kiss! We were interrupted by Yaoyorozu's chauffeur, and we didn't get the chance to! I mean, it...it doesn't mean we're now a couple! She could be freaked out for all I know! She hasn't even texted or called me back to talk about it! I mean, she's not even here in the group chat!

Ashido: STILL! This is awesome news!

Jirou: Hey, Green, no worries though! Yaomomo just texted me and we talked a little bit about your almost-kiss.

Midoriya: Um, can this not be about me?

Jirou: Too late. Anyway, she said some...interesting things.

Midoriya: ...Wh-What kind?

Jirou: Weeell...you'll have to ask her on Monday, now will you? ;)

Kaminari: Oooh, nice, Jirou.

Jirou: I'm still a little mad at you for blabbing it out before I did.

Kaminari: ...Sorry. :(

Jirou: Ah, nah, don't worry about it. Just let me reveal some info next time, okay?

Kaminari: Aww, sure thing! :3

Asui: ...Did you just make a kissy icon to Jirou?

Kaminari: ...

Jirou: ...

Kaminari: ...Uh, folks are calling, got to go! Bye, guys! Bye, Jirou!

[Kamianri left the chat]

Asui: ...

Jirou: ...

Midoirya: ...

Iida: ...

Uraraka: ...

Ashido: ...:D

Jirou: Don't say anything, Mina.

Ashido: Ooooooh, it's getting SERIOUS~!

Asui: Actually, I need to help my siblings with their homework. I'll see you guys on Monday, okay?

Uraraka: Sure thing, Tsu! See ya later!

Iida: Good day, Tsu! Oh, and thanks for the early text!

Asui: No prob, Iida! Ciao!

[Asui left the chat]

Uraraka: Early text?

Iida: Oh, just...something was bothering me, and...uh, Asui text me about it. She seemed very observant, cause I didn't know I looked...bothered...I mean, I didn't look bothered to anyone, did I?

Jirou: Uh, nah, man. You looked okay.

Ashido: I couldn't really tell, you're always so stiff. No offense, Iida.

Iida: None taken!

Uraraka: I didn't really see you looking bothered...I thought you looked like you were happy about something though.

Iida: I, uh...was kind of in a way...

Midoriya: Well, anything you guys want to talk about next before we leave the chat?

Uraraka: Well...are you really going to see Bakugou tomorrow, Midoriya?

Iida: Oh that's right! I advise you not to take the invitation from Bakugou, Midoriya!

Jirou: Yeah, you're not really going to face him, are ya?

Ashido: What is the deal between you and Bakugou, anyway?

Midoriya: ...I...can't really answer some of those questions.

Uraraka: Really? Why's that?

Jirou: Oh man, don't tell me you're actually gonna meet up with that jerk?

Iida: Midoriya! I really advise you not to meet up with Bakugou! Who knows what that Neanderthal will do?!

Ashido: Yeah, I don't know, Midori. He seems pretty intense and serious about what he wants to 'discuss' with you tomorrow.

Midoriya: ...Would you guys still be my friends if I even was Quirkless?

Uraraka: ...

Jirou: ...

Iida: ...

Ashido: Whoa, Midori, where did this come from?

Midoriya: I mean...you guys wouldn't...reject me or anything even if I wanted to be a Hero but was still Quirkless, would you?

...

...

...

Urakaka: Hey, of course not, Midoriya. Why would you think that?

Jirou: Yeah. Even if you were Quirkless, you would still be a cool guy to hang out with.

Ashido: Yeah, Midori! And if you were Quirkless and wanted to become a Hero, then that's even more inspiring! I would give that person so much respect!

Iida: Yes! The girls are absolutely right, Midoriya. Even if you were Quirkless, I can pretty much say that you have what it takes to be a Hero! You got the Heroic spirit and surely can answer the call when it's announced!

Midoriya: ...Thank you guys...I really appreciate your words.

Jirou: Hey, no problem, man!

Ashido: Yeah! You really have gone Plus Ultra than most of us, anyway!

Iida: Indeed!

Uraraka: Yeah, Midoriya! You shouldn't let anyone put you down because you were Quirkless one time! You basically proved you are a Hero!

Midoriya: ...You guys are great. Thank you...however, I do need to talk to Bakugou. It's just something that I should probably do. And...it's kind of personal.

Uraraka: Well...okay...

Jirou: I mean...well, if you feel like that, then okay. If you guys start fighting though, punch him in the face for me will ya?

Ashido: Haha! Damn, Jirou!

Jirou: Hey, the guy's a stooge.

Iida: Well...I still think it's a bad idea, but you made your mind up either way, Midoriya. Just be careful!

Midoriya: I will...well, I might have to call it a night. I think I'm gonna turn in a little early. I'll see you guys on Monday!

Uraraka: Okay! We'll see ya later then! Be safe, Midoriya! Bye!

Jirou: See ya, Greeny! Just come out of that whole Bakugou meetup unscathed!

Ashido: See ya, Midori! Don't let whoever, whether it be Bakugou or any other jerk, put ya down! You're awesome!

Iida: Yes! You deserve the title of a True Hero at every step of the word! Farewell for now!

Midoriya: Wow...thanks, guys. I won't disappoint! I'll see you all later! Bye!

Midoriya left the group chat on his chat app, and checked his time on his phone.

8:45 PM

Placing his phone on his bedside, he glanced at Torino, who was snoring away in his futon.

...I probably should hit the hay...so I could feel rested as I face Kacchan tomorrow.

But before he did...

He tiptoed around Torino, and exit his room, looking to find his Mom, who was sitting on the couch and watching TV in the den.

Inko noticed her son and smiled at him. "Oh, Izuku-Honey! Is...Is everything alright? Do you want me to do anything for you?"

"Oh, uh, no, not tonight. I was just...well..." Izuku then walked into the den area, came up to his mother, and gave her a hug.

"Huh?" Inko looked confused, "Um...not that I don't appreciate the hug, Izuku-Dear, but...well, what's wrong?"

"Nothing's wrong, Mom...just...want to say thank you for understanding...and for being the most awesome Mom I could ever ask for," Izuku told her as he still hugged her.

Blinking at the praise that was directed toward her, Inko couldn't help but smile warmly at her son's words. She returned the hug to her son.

"Oh, Dear...you're the most wonderful son a mother could ever ask for," Inko said sweetly.

"Thank you, Mom..." Izuku smiled warmly, "I love you."

"I love you too, Izuku-Honey," Inko said, patting her son's back affectionately.

And then, after their sweet mother-and-son moment, Izuku bid his mother goodnight, went back to his room, tiptoed past Torino, got in his bed, and slept...

...The hours passed, and Midoriya was fast asleep...

...He slept until midnight...

...

...Izuku...

...

...Izuku...

...

...Izuku was falling...falling into some kind of void.

He kept falling...

...until he reached a platform.

He then paused in mid-fall...and let his feet hover above the platform...only to slowly descend onto it.

Confused as to where he was, Izuku looked around the dark void.

"...Uh...hello?" Izuku called out, "Am I...I mean, is this a dream?"

...Well, if it was a dream, I probably shouldn't be aware of it...right?

Izuku.

"Huh?" Izuku looked around, trying to locate where that voice came from "U-Um, is anyone here?"

Hm-hm...it's nice to finally meet you, Izuku. Welcome. You are now in the center of One For All. Or better known to us, the Vestige World.

"...Eh?" Izuku uttered, now puzzled.

Perhaps I should introduce myself?

Then, a bright light came through...and out appeared a beautiful woman...a woman who was wearing a Hero costume and a cape...but she also looked a little bit like...

"..." Izuku blinked, "M-Mom?"

The woman chukled, "Oh, no, no. Although, she wears the same hairstyle as mine," she smiled, "But, no. I'm someone completely different. I'm...well, I'm Shimura Nana. I'm the eighth holder of One For All."

"...Wh-Wait!" Izuku blinked in shock, "Are you...you mean...you're Nana!? All Might's mentor?!"

Nana smiled in pity, "I can see Toshi failed to tell you about me. That boy. He really is slacking," shaking her head in slight disappointment, she still had a smile on her face, "Still, I'm proud that he picked you, Izuku."

"...Um...okay, you might need to tell me what's happening right now," Izuku said with so much confusion, "I'm...not like...dead am I?"

"Oh, no, Izuku, you're not dead, don't worry. Like I said before, you're in One For All, or as we also call it, the Vestige World."

"The Vestige...World?"

"Yep! And you're in here for a reason!"

"I am? Uh..." Izuku just glanced down in thought, "...I remember falling asleep and…waking up here? In this Vestige World?"

"Well, you usually enter this place whenever you sleep, and only when we really need to talk to you on certain important matters. It happens to all the recent holders of One For All, which you currently are, Izuku."

"Oh...so, I'm asleep? Am I just...basically dreaming? I-I mean, kind of dreaming?"

"Kind of dreaming, yes. But where you are is as real as the physical realm."

"Physical realm?! Uuuh..." Izuku now looked bewildered.

Nana chuckled again, "Look, just know that you're alright here in the Vestige World, okay Izuku?"

"Uh...o-okay..."

She nodded with a smile, but then Nana turned serious for a moment, "Now...we need to discuss some things, Izuku. Things that came out in the open."

"Huh? What do you mean?"

"Well, you see...when One For All is passed down to different bearers, it holds a connection to each user, even when they're gone. The genetic parts of the users have certain parts of their DNA in One For All, which it holds some of their thoughts, memories, and of course, their Quirks. So when you see someone like, your mother, we, the ones who passed on and are in the Vestige World, see her as well."

"...W-Wait, so...what you're saying is...the users of One For All are...like, inside of me?" Izuku asked in wide-eyed shock.

"Yeah! Something like that. Even with Toshi, we could see that he picked you! And...well, since you and Toshi are still living with One For All, we kind of have double windows to see out of..." Nana, though, frowned as she lowered her head. "Although..." she sighed, "...Poor Toshi..."

Izuku could only frown solemnly back and glance down at the ethereal floor as he thought about his mentor, "...Yeah…" he looked back up at Nana, "So...you can't see what All Might sees anymore? Just me?"

"...Actually..." Nana looked crestfallen and almost like she could be in tears...her body shook, which alarmed Izuku.

"Huh? N-Nana? Are you alright?"

"...I don't know how...but...I think it's because I deeply cared for your mentor...he was like...another son to me..."

"A-Another son?" Izuku blinked.

"Yes...I...I had a son one time...one time..." she put her hand to her eyes so she wouldn't let Izuku see her shedding tears, "I...I think it's because we're so deeply connected with each other...I can't explain it, I don't even think the other bearers of One For All can even try...but I heard what Toshi heard...even when he had lost his One For All."

"What?" Izuku's eyes widened in shock, "W-...Wait, then you heard everything that All Might heard after he got...O-One For All taken away from him?"

"Yes..." she sniffled as she raised her head and dragged her hand down to her face as her expression looked distraught, "Again, I don't know how that works. But I would think it's because he and I have some kind of deep connection, that..." she whimpered, unable to look at Izuku because of her sad state.

"N-Nana? What...What's wrong?" Izuku asked, feeling a little worried for her. It was then he thought of something dreadful, "...Nana? Is...A-All Might...i-is he okay?"

Nana sobbed quietly, and turned to Izuku, "H-He's fine, Izuku, don't worry...but...there's something I found out when Toshi was held captive at the League of Villains hideout..."

"Wha-...What is it?"

"...My..." Nana took a deep breath and sighed, trying to compose herself as best as she can, "...My grandson is Shigaraki."

...To say that news was a bombshell to hear was an understatement.

"WH-WHAT!?" Izuku's eyes widened tenfold.

"...Yes..." Nana frowned in shame, "I...I thought my son would be safe when I gave him away so no evil would get him, All For One included...but...my son came to hate me for it...and he instilled that hate into his own son..." she grimaced as the tears came down, the perpetual sadness marking her expression, "I...I didn't want this to happen...I thought I was doing what was right..." she wiped the tears from her eyes with her hands, "I-I...I made a horrible decision."

Izuku stood there, stunned by the news...

"...Y-You didn't realize it would happen that way..." Izuku tried to comfort her.

"...Maybe…" Nana sniffled, "But...it doesn't change that...I made my son hate me, and my grandson is with...All For One."

If that wasn't even a bigger bombshell, then Izuku must have Sir Nighteye's Quirk. His mouth dropped upon hearing that.

"You mean...wait...Sh-Shigaraki and...the League of Villains...it's all led by...All For One?" Izuku asked with dread.

Nana nodded, her face still full of sorrow, "Yes..." she looked at Izuku, her expression now full of determination, even with the tears down her eyes, "Izuku...please...help my grandson come back...help him come back to the side of good. Not the Hero side, the poor boy probably hates them more than my son. And honestly, with the way things are in this recent Hero Society, I'd rather he doesn't become one at all. But please, make him just see the side of good."

"..." Izuku looked at Nana with the most resolute gaze. "...Now knowing this...I...I will...I'll try...I'll...I'll save your grandson! And I'll also save your pupil, All Might!"

Smiling at that promise, Nana nodded, "Thank you..."

Nodding as well to Nana, Izuku then thought about something else...

Joker.

"...Actually, there's something I want to ask you."

"Huh?" Nana blinked.

"...There was this other Villain, named Joker...did...did you remember talking to young Quirkless boy?"

"...A young Quirkless boy? Well, I...I know Toshi was Qurikless..."

"...W-Wait a minute, WHAT?" Izuku eyes bulged out in shock.

"Huh? You mean...oh yeah, he didn't tell you..." Nana sighed, "That boy...well, you see, Toshi was Quirkless one time. I gave him One For All when he was 14."

"...Wha...Wha..." Izuku lowered his head and narrowed his eyes in...annoyance, "...That lovable hypocrite!"

Now Nana sweatdropped, "Well...I mean, I'm certain he was going to tell you sooner or later. Besides, he'd gone so far with the Quirk I gave him, he basically used his own natural strength to do every good deed."

"...Still..." Izuku pouted.

Nana smiled slightly at how funny Izuku looked when he pouted, "But, either way, were you telling me that I talked to Toshi? Was that what you were saying?"

"Huh?" Izuku looked up at Nana in confusion, "Oh, uh...well, no. I was actually asking if you met another, um, Quirkless boy? P-Probably someone who's a lot younger than All Might?"

"Another Quirkless boy?" Nana thought about that as she placed a hand on her chin, "...I...I think I did talk to one Quirkless child before I went off to battle All For One."

"Huh? W-Well then, what did he look like?"

"...Wait..." Nana's eyes lit up as she thought, "...I...heard the rest. After hearing that revelation about my grandson, I heard voices...the one that you called Joker was there. He was talking about me...about how he...met me once."

Izuku's breath hitched, "W-...Well, did you? Did he ask you about...if he can be a Hero without a Quirk?"

Nana looked at Izuku, a little surprised, "...The...The child was a girl..."

...Okay, that bombshell took the cake.

"...Wha...What?" Izuku eyes widened in shock as he gazed at Nana, wondering if she was telling the truth.

"The child...she was a girl..."

"...But...wait, did...did any boys actually ask you that same question?"

Looking a little confused, Nana answered, "The only boy I know that asked me that was Toshi..."

"...That...but that...that contradicts...what Joker said..."

"...I...I don't know what that Joker was playing at, but...I didn't even recognize his voice..." Nana looked bothered by the whole thing, "I told that girl that she could be a Hero though...with or without a Quirk."

Izuku's head was reeling...he didn't know what to believe anymore...

"I...then...Joker...lied?" Izuku wondered.

Nana looked at Izuku, seeing the confusion written on his face. Frowning at how this revelation made him question everything, "Izuku."

The boy looked up at Nana to listen.

"...I don't know what Joker was planning there, but...I think he wanted to mess with our minds," Nana theorized.

"...R-...Right..." Izuku said, the feeling of uncertainty now fading away.

But even then, where did he get the name Sylph - Nana - from?

Seeing that he's still a little bothered by it, Nana said to him, "You probably shouldn't take whatever Joker says as truth. I feel like he's those types of Villains that make...well, that make jokes out of people..." she lowered her head with a frown...looking up at Izuku again, she said, "Either way, I think our time here is up."

"Huh?" Izuku blinked, "Our time's up?"

"Yes...but it was nice to finally meet you, Izuku," Nana smiled, "Just keep that heroic spirit strong. And...be careful. Don't let Joker or All For One bring you down. Go Plus Ultra as Toshi would say!"

Izuku stood there, feeling the valor in his body as he smiled back.

"Don't worry, Nana...I will!"

And then...Izuku left the Vestige World...

...Izuku woke up from his sleep...

Sitting up from his bed, he rubbed the sleep out of his eyes. After he stretched the kinks out of his joints, he looked to his right. He sees that Torino was already up, his futon unoccupied.

Glancing at his phone on his bedside, he picked it up and looked at the time.

8:45 AM

"...Wow...I slept pretty late..." Izuku muttered.

It didn't even feel like 12 hours have passed...

...It was then he realized...

Oh...yeah...Kacchan...

The first thought he had in the morning and it had to be his ex-childhood-friend/bully/classmate.

...Well, better get some breakfast...just so I can face the inevitable...

Whatever it may be, facing the day, facing the inevitable, facing anything else that Izuku can think of, he will face it all head-on...

...But some days can be proven even more difficult...even unpredictable...

Either way, Izuku will have to see what lies beyond the horizon...
