Snorts
Donna wakes up—again—in the middle of the night, feeling Harvey's snoring echo through the room, and she squeezes her eyes shut in frustration. It's the third time that night that she has woken up, and she fears she will never sleep through the entire night again if he sleeps beside her.
Harvey is lying on his back, one arm over his head, and his head turned toward her.
"How the hell can you snore so much?" she whimpers. She wants to move him onto his stomach, but she can't. She had already tried being affectionate in previous attempts, whispering to him to move, stroking his hair, back, or arm, but nothing had worked. Plus, she can't move him because apparently, when he sleeps, he becomes a dead weight that Donna finds impossible to move, even getting agitated trying to do so with her own sleeping body.
Donna also tries momentarily to cover his nose, or place a pillow between them to muffle the unbearable noise, or put the pillow covering her ears, hiding under the covers, and momentarily feeling resentment towards him. She even tries to position herself as far away from him as possible in bed.
But nothing works, and the frustration and annoyance are becoming unbearable for her.
Harvey had kept her awake until after midnight, and now, at 4 in the morning, she hadn't slept for more than 2 hours. In just 2 hours, her alarm will go off for work.
She desperately needs to sleep, no matter what.
She tries moving him once more, but she can't. As a last attempt, she kicks him.
"Donna!" he complains.
"I won't apologize. You snore like a hippo, Harvey. It's unbearable. Now I understand why all the women ran away from you."
He laughs, still sleepy, and pulls her closer to him. "I'm sorry," he murmurs and kisses her head. "But can't you try being more affectionate to wake me up?"
She rolls her eyes. "I've tried everything, and nothing wakes you up. You seem to be a deep sleeper."
"It must be that I relax with you," he tells her with a smile that almost melts Donna's frustration away.
"Do something about your snoring, Harvey. I really need to sleep, and I don't want us to have to sleep in separate rooms."
"Are you out of your mind? No, we'll sleep together."
"Then promise me you'll see a doctor and try some solutions because I really need sleep," she whimpers and rolls over to go back to sleep. "And try sleeping on your stomach, so you don't snore."
"Okay," he responds and lays down on his stomach, leaning in to kiss her on the shoulder. "I'm sorry, Donna."
She exhales sharply. "It's okay, Harvey. I just need to sleep."
"Kick me if you need to."
She laughs. "I'm sorry about that."
He laughs too. "Okay, now sleep. Alright?"
"You too, but don't snore if you don't want to drive me crazy!"
He laughs. "I promise I'll try."
