We begin our story very much the same way other stories began, two young men are sitting in front of a desk these two are the servants and avatars of the goddess Serket, and the goddess was not happy about how one of her many universes was, and how it was supposed to end. Her brother manipulates enough to regain his body which was destroyed by this universe's god of destruction, Beerus, her brother was once called Apep.
"My two faithful avatars, it has come to my knowledge that one of my creations has deviated from my grand plan, too many things have gone wrong, and now I must do something to correct it. My brother wishes to regain his body, and once he regains his body he will wish for immortality using the dragon balls, and then do whatever he wants in that universe, which means it will be a fate worse than death to the people of that universe."
Hiro looks at her and tried to smile, "Do not worry goddess, we have not failed you and this time will not be an exception, we are ready to do your bidding." Hector however tells her that if he gains immortality he could be a danger to more than just one of the universes she created. "This is why I am sending you two."
Hector asks what will they be sent with, because they will have to fight a deity, and this particular fight by that fact alone could be already one-sided. "Do not worry I will summon potential allies to this plane of existence and inform them of the truth, and I will send you as two heroes, Saitama and Genos, after the others learn the truth all of you will be sent to that world seven days before the vessels of mother earth are sent to destroy God, Vaccine Man and Vaccine Woman. Unfortunately, they have been corrupted by my brother."
As she said this she immediately causes both of her servants to transform, into Saitama and Genos before she decided to summon all the S Class Heroes and the Hero Association workers and executives, including Sweet Mask and Tareo.
As each of the Heroes and staff appears in the area, they are all shocked to see that they are in a place they have never seen before and with two people that sort of look like heroes but they are completely unknown to them, Blast was the first one to speak, "Why is an innocent child present here with us? Couldn't this be particularly dangerous for him?"
The Goddess looks at him and smiles, "No, everyone here is perfectly safe, even from each other, I have brought you here to share with you some of my wisdom and knowledge, to prevent tragedies that will come to pass, and before you ask, no, this is not your world, it's my world, so you will be sent back only after you learn everything I have to share with you."
Bang looks at her, "Not to doubt you, but we were summoned here against our will, and we simply have no idea of what you are going to share with us, so it is not unexpected that some of us are shocked and defensive."
The goddess will explain that she will show them two different timelines, which are similar but different from their own, one is a timeline where there the continents are separate, a few of your family members do not exist, and some of the people here do not have siblings in this timeline, and in the other timeline, you don't exist but your siblings do.
Miya and the other eight Sekirei were told that they actually don't exist in any of these timelines, the entire Sekirei Army did not exist in these timelines. Genos points out that there must be similar events that happen in these two timelines that will happen in their timeline. "Yes, you are correct about that Genos, by knowing what happened in those timelines these disasters can be prevented in your timeline."
Tatsumaki asked her why are these two strangers there? "All of these events usually revolve around these two," Tatsumaki asks what would happen if these two were to die, the goddess tells her that if they die, their world dies with them, and that includes little Tareo since all three of them are that important.
One of the executives begins to talk with the workers, and talks about keeping the kid as safe as possible, The goddess then explains, "There are certain events that the kid must be a part of, and preventing that will also cause the world to end." She then looks at King and tells him that she hoped that he enjoys using his powers. King thought to himself, 'I don't have any powers.'
She laughs, "Your power is luck, and the other power is to have the powers and abilities of the last game character you played. I know you wanted to keep this a secret, but in this circumstance, they need to know."
King begins to think back to the last game he played, 'The last character I played was Ryu of the Street Fighter Game.' The goddess then tells him to please to show them his power, his heart begins to beat faster, and as the sounds of an engine revving up are heard, he hopes this works or everyone will find that he has no powers, freaking him out.
As he does the motions for the attack the character is known to do, he screams, "Hadouken." A very small fireball comes out. Everyone faceplants as they saw this except the goddess, "Of course, your attack would be greatly reduced here, I told you that you would be perfectly safe, even from each other. So even if you tried to use that attack on someone else it would have little effect, see.?"
'I have power.' he began to think until he heard another person speak in his mind, it was the goddess, 'Yes, you do, I granted you that power when you first came here, but you always had luck, with these two you will always pick the right character for the right situation.'
She then turns to Saitama, "I am going to give you the power of the gamer, but you will not be able to level up yourself for a very long time, but you can use it to help everyone else." He tells her that it shall be as she commands. Tatsumaki asked why is he getting this power and not someone else?
He is getting this power because unlike everyone else except for Blast and himself, he will rarely use this power for selfish desires, instead will use it to help others. Tatsumaki is not happy, if there are no more questions the show is about to begin, as she snaps her fingers and they find themselves inside a movie theatre, with drink cups and buckets. Each bathroom is perfect for each present, the buckets and cups will fill will their desired food they only need to think about it as they empty.
She smiled at Pig God and tells him he can keep the bucket but he can only summon it for battle, and only summon monster parts if he does take it with him, but will not summon normal food, drink or work outside of battle. One of the workers asks why wouldn't it always work? She tells him that if it did it would destroy the economy, Pig God gets what he needs, not what he wants.
As they all sat down the screen begins to show them everything from each timeline in the form of a rather artistic anime, and right next to their seats are in a side bag there are light novels and manga of the same anime, including the webcomic.
After several days have passed, they finished watching and reading all the materials the goddess had to show them, they were amazed and shocked at what they saw, some more than others, as King asked if there was a game version of it, to which she told him there is, but that is her private collection, and she is not sharing that with anyone.
They are sent back to their timeline, and they were shocked to find that only a few minutes had passed since they were summoned, Saitama was keenly aware since he heard the chime of the microwave, telling him that his noodles were done reheating. He began to wonder why did the Hero Association treat such obvious monsters as Zombieman and Zombiewoman, as just regular heroes, maybe it had to do something about them protecting humanity rather than killing it?
If monsters were not a threat to humanity, they would be allowed to join the hero association, that is what the hero association said but they also said that they were disgusted by how their counterparts were researching monsters and aliens, to make them suffer as much as possible.
"Well hopefully everything will work out, I am going to have my noodles." Right, when he is about to take the noodles out of the microwave he hears a knock on the door. He begins to think and no he was not expecting anyone. Opening the door he sees Genos, "Your eight days early, Genos, what are you doing here early? And why do you have a backpack?"
Genos looks at him, and simply tells him, "Well Master why waste time, I came early to find a room in this apartment building right next door to yours, and by the way master, the person who was having you pay rent, was scamming you, nobody owns this building anymore, here you go. All have been counted and it is in this envelope."
Genos handed the envelope to Saitama and he looked at it for a second and asked why would he do this? "Well there are plenty of moral reasons, but largely because I will live in this building and I didn't want to get scammed, the doctor can use that money to improve my equipment. So how about we get started on your study for the written exam?"
Saitama pulls out his phone and calls the Bearded worker, of course, is greeted by him and asked what could he need from him, "Genos is here eight days early, just need to check with you, if we need to take the test to join the Hero Association." The bearded worker talks with some people and after a little time he gets back to him, "Technically no, you don't need to take the exam, but if you want we can have it set up in the next two hours for the two of you. I don't know why you want to take it though."
He grumbles that it is because of Genos, insisting that he needs to be fair to the other potential hero candidates. The bearded worker says that is a very nice thing to do, considering that this does help the hero association improve the way they do these tests. "We will be there in two hours, do I need to bring anything with me?"
The bearded worker did suggest a change of clothes would be nice, and maybe just maybe this time try not to cause a hole in the ceiling because that is a pain to have to repair. Saitama hangs up the phone, and Genos asked, "Master is two hours enough time to study?" Saitama tells him he can call him Hiro and he can call him Hector when they are alone, and Genos tells him that it would be a potential security risk, and worse if the brother of the goddess hears their names since they do know him.
Saitama told him that as long as they are in the apartment or near the apartment the goddess made it impossible for God to know what they are doing or even hear what they are saying. "So do we have enough time? I upgraded the dungeon to create the equivalent of the hyperbolic time chamber, as long as we don't go outside of the room the gravity will not weigh us down."
Saitama invites Genos into his party, which Genos accepts, "Dungeon Hyperbolic Time Chamber level one." As he said this they appear inside the building of the time chamber, Saitama tells him for every minute that goes by outside of the time chamber is the equivalent of six hours inside. "So we got plenty of time and since we only need thirty minutes to get to the hero association."
"So that means we have forty-five days, to prepare for the test." They begin to gain skills and abilities, and Saitama is put through the passes of actually learning everything he needs to learn for the actual written test, he improves the control of his power to be able to regulate it properly, and Genos improves his skills and abilities quite a lot.
In forty-five days he managed to level up his power level from level one hundred to level one hundred and forty-five, but Saitama is still suppressing his power so his power level is only four hundred. Leaving the time chamber dungeon they leave for the hero association test site, which is two hundred and fifty miles away, but they get there in fifteen minutes which means they make it to the association building with fifteen minutes to spare.
They are led to the area where they will begin the testing, a few different class heroes from S to C are there to watch, they heard two potential heroes that wanted to come in early, Sweet mask comes to greet them, "It is nice that you two decided to come in earlier than expected, this will keep the other candidates from being scared off by you, we didn't expect you to come for another two weeks." Saitama merely mentions that Genos was quite insistent about them taking the test early.
Sweet Mask does smile and says why to put off something you can do today for later? Saitama tells him and every one that even if he gets one hundred percent he still wishes to be placed at the bottom of the rankings, which is the bottom of Rank C. Sweet Mask asked why would he do that? Saitama tells him that he simply wishes to be notified of all potential threats, to which Sweet Mask chuckles.
"You know that you can ask the Association dispatch to do that and you would still be in Class S right?" Saitama tells him that for him being a hero is sort of a hobby, and he is a gamer at heart and wants to slowly level up through the ranks with only his effort. Tank Top Master and other heroes are surprised to hear about this.
Sweet Mask smiles, and tells him to get ready the test is about to start, after the physical exam, they walk out and Saitama is seen hearing some people make wolf whistles at him, and later Genos get the same treatment. Tornado, Blizzard, and Captain Mizuki are wolf-whistling at Saitama, Tornado and Blizzard are arguing.
Saitama put a stop to it and went over to tell them to break it up because siblings should not be acting like that so either learn to share and get along or neither will get what they want which causes them both to blush and calm down, as they both agree to share what they want together.
As this was happening Genos was already halfway done with the tests, by the time Saitama got done with his little discussion with the two sisters, but it didn't take him long to catch up to Genos as they both finish the test, and they were taken to another room where the written exam was about to take place, and they were placed in opposite sides of the room, to prevent cheating.
As the exam was over they were told that it would take about two hours for the results to be compiled, Saitama needed to go to the bathroom so he left the locker room, and on his way to the bathroom he met Captain Mizuki, he asked to be excused for a second and he went to the bathroom to take care of something, and after he washed his hands he went out to find Captain Mizuki was still waiting for him.
"I just wanted to tell you that it was amazing the way that you completed all the tests, I was wondering if you could help me train so that I can become a better hero?" Saitama began to think about it and his face became rather serious, "I don't know, can you keep up with my level of training?" Mizuki promised to show up on time, she will give it her all, and she will not give up if he gives her the chance.
"Very well, your training starts tomorrow at seven in the morning, I live in an abandoned sector of City Z, this is my address and apartment number." He tells her the address and apartment number along with the nearby streets for reference. She is shocked to hear that he lives in a monster-infested part of the city she asked him why he lives there, and he tells her that the rent is cheap and he likes the apartment.
Genos comes up to them and clears his throat, "Excuse me, Master, I hate to interrupt this lovely conversation, but the results of our tests have been written, I have mine and I decided to bring you, yours. I of course made it to Class S. Technically you should be in Class S but since you asked for it, you are in the bottom rank of Class C."
Captain Mizuki is shocked and she asks him if he was serious about him requesting to be placed in that rank no matter the results, to which Saitama said yes, that he doesn't care about rank, fame, or fortune since he is only doing this as a hobby. "I am an average guy who does this for fun, for me being a hero is the right thing to do, because like I said to me this is a hobby."
Mizuki is wondering what is wrong with this guy, "Risking your life is a hobby?" Saitama tells her that he thinks that if he didn't do this, he would die from boredom, so to him, boredom is far more dangerous than having to fight monsters. "That is why I take every single opportunity to fight and defeat one monster after another, I've been doing this for years, but it was only due to someone's insistence that I even decided to register."
To which Genos asked for how long was he going to keep blaming him for doing the right and legal thing? To which Saitama told him for as long as he insists on calling him master, so Genos pretty much said forever, great. "We will see you tomorrow, now if you will excuse us, we have to go to an orientation, I sure hope that Sneck is not the one doing the orientation."
As they found the room they both sat down waiting for the person doing the orientation to come to the room, Saitama is relaxing and he is touching his head, "I miss my hair, I can't believe I have to keep shaving it for five more years since I lost that bet with one of my siblings. One is Blast, the other is Watchdog Man, and my little sister who likes to be called One Kick Woman, and of course, I lost to Blast, I have to shave my head for seven years, I have five years left."
Sneck finally comes to the room and begins to give them the long and boring lecture about the duties of being a hero, and what is expected of them, and after an hour of lecture it was finally over, and then they could finally go back to their apartments. Sneck was glaring at Saitama the entire time till he left the building because Saitama was chewing gum and he was looking like he was not paying attention.
As they finally made it to the apartment building Genos took his backpack and he went to the next apartment and opened the door like it was nothing at all. That is when the noise began to be heard all over the floor as Genos began to clean the apartment, thirty minutes later it was spotless, and he decided to go to bed.
The next morning Saitama woke up as he heard the sounds of a person cooking something in his kitchen, he smelled the delicious scent of bacon, eggs, and freshly made toast, he sees the person has blonde hair, "Morning Genos, I see you got breakfast started." Much to his shock the person turns around and looks around Saitama freaks out, "Genos what the hell, what is with these modifications? Why do you look like a girl?"
She puffed up her cheeks and he begins to hear someone knocking on his front door, "We will talk about this in a minute Genos, I have to see who is at the front door." He finds that Genos is the one knocking on his door, he looks at the kitchen and a female version is still standing there, "Wait you are Genos, then who is that person that looks like a female version of you?"
Genos tells him that is more than likely his sister who is two years older than him, her name is Genoa, and she became a cyborg the same day and for the same reason as he did. "Well, that explains it, for a minute there I was wondering why you decided to have a female frame? But why is your sister cooking me breakfast?"
Genoa said that she did it to make sure that her little brother's master was a good person. As she said Captain Mizuki showed up, she was at first a little surprised and confused to see two versions of Genos, and one had an apron. "So who is this person? And why is she here?" Genoa tells her that she wanted to surprise her baby brother with a delicious breakfast, and since she thought that he would be living in the same apartment as his master, she went in and started cooking breakfast.
Genos said that he would have lived with his master, but his master simply prefers to live alone since he values his personal space, and the entire apartment is his personal space, "This is my big sister Genoa, but she is supposed to be in America, she is a Rank S Hero of the American Branch of the Hero Association."
Genoa told her brother that indeed she is, but she was transferred over to the Japanese Branch, "Come on, let's eat breakfast, and let's get going, we need to start our training. Thank you very much Gen for breakfast. Do you mind if I call you Gen for short?"
She said that it was no problem, after they ate breakfast and Mizuki told them that she had already eaten before she came over, they decided to get started, Saitama told them to get into something comfortable, and to follow him down to the ground floor. "Alright this is my training, one hundred push-ups, one hundred sit-ups, one hundred crushes, and a 10k run, every single day, no exceptions, you might feel like you are dying but keep pushing forward."
Genoa is wondering how could this help? It sounds like basic rehab exercises for injured heroes. "Almost forgot, you will do these exercises in a row without pausing, you do one exercise after another until you finally finish the run. Your body will feel like it is breaking apart, and your knees and joints will make noises, do not stop, move past the pain, ignore the idea of taking a day off and keep going forward, even when you are spitting out blood, keep going."
"Do not use the air conditioner in the summer or the heater in winter, to strengthen your mind, you must have three square meals per day, a banana is fine for breakfast. Now sometimes when I do my run I fight monsters, but you must finish the training at least at the end of the day. No exceptions."
After their first day of training was over, Mizuki felt like she was going to die, and they finally decided to go home, Mizuki left thinking it wouldn't be such a bad idea to move into the apartment building thus saving some time, and the rent was a lot cheaper, Genos and his sister went to their apartment and decided to catch up on how they have been, and Saitama decided to walk around City Z to catch some fresh air and maybe stop a villain or two. Saitama told them he would see them later and he left.
