Okay, I watched that AI reunion thing from The Companion. I have been inspired, so I had AI write me the first part of a fanfiction that fills in that pesky little missing scene between Crystal Skull and Nemesis.
It is a bit hard to read, but stick with it! There are some parts that are absolutely GOLD.
**AI Generated Rating is accurate for the content.**
Everything from here to the last A/N is generated completely by AI. I'll continue the story in the next chapter!

**A Pain in the Side**
Daniel was in pain.
He had been feeling unwell since they arrived on P4X-639, a planet that was supposed to have some ancient ruins of interest to him. He had ignored the mild nausea and cramps, thinking that they were just the result of the spicy food he had eaten at the SGC cafeteria before they left.
He had followed Jack, Sam, and Teal'c to the ruins, hoping to find something that would justify their trip. However, he had been disappointed by the lack of anything significant or useful. The ruins were mostly rubble and dust, and the few inscriptions he had found were too eroded or damaged to read.
He had decided to return to the gate with his teammates, feeling frustrated and bored. He had hoped that a good night's sleep would make him feel better.
He was wrong.
Halfway to the gate, he felt a sharp pain in his lower right abdomen. He gasped and clutched his side, stumbling and falling to the ground.
"Daniel!" Jack shouted, running to his side. "What's wrong?"
Daniel couldn't answer. He was too busy trying to breathe through the pain. He felt like someone was stabbing him with a knife.
"Daniel, talk to me," Jack said, kneeling beside him and checking his pulse. "Are you hurt? Did you step on something?"
"No...I don't think so..." Daniel managed to say between gritted teeth. "It's...it's my stomach...it hurts..."
"Your stomach?" Jack repeated, confused. "Did you eat something bad?"
"I don't know...maybe..." Daniel said, feeling sweat on his forehead. "It's getting worse..."
"Sam, Teal'c, get over here!" Jack called out to his other teammates, who were a few meters ahead of them. "We have a situation!"
Sam and Teal'c quickly ran back to them, seeing Daniel lying on the ground in agony.
"What happened?" Sam asked.
"I don't know," Jack said. "He says his stomach hurts."
"Let me see," Sam said, taking out her medical kit from her backpack. She opened Daniel's jacket and shirt, exposing his abdomen. She gently pressed on different areas, looking for signs of injury or infection.
Daniel winced and groaned as she touched his right side.
"Ow...ow...ow..." he moaned.
"Sorry, Daniel," Sam said apologetically. "Does this hurt?"
She pressed harder on his lower right quadrant.
"AAAH!" Daniel screamed.
Sam quickly withdrew her hand.
"That's it," she said. "He has appendicitis."
"Appendicitis?" Jack repeated. "What's that?"
"It's an inflammation of the appendix," Sam explained. "It's a small pouch attached to the large intestine. It can get infected and cause severe pain and fever. If it bursts, it can cause peritonitis or sepsis, which can be fatal."
"Fatal?" Jack echoed. "As in dead?"
"Yes, sir," Sam said grimly. "We need to get him back to the SGC as soon as possible. He needs surgery."
"Surgery?" Jack said. "Can't we just give him some antibiotics or something?"
"No, sir," Sam said. "Antibiotics won't work for this. The appendix has to be removed before it ruptures."
"Okay," Jack said. "Then let's go."
He looked at Teal'c.
"Teal'c, can you carry him?" he asked.
"I can," Teal'c said.
He lifted Daniel carefully from the ground and placed him over his shoulder.
Daniel groaned and clung to Teal'c's neck.
"Easy there, Danny," Jack said soothingly. "We're gonna get you out of here."
He took out his radio and contacted the SGC.
"This is O'Neill," he said. "We have a medical emergency. We need a MALP and a medical team at the gate ASAP."
"O'Neill, this is Hammond," General Hammond's voice replied. "What's the nature of your emergency?"
"It's Daniel," Jack said. "He has appendicitis. He needs surgery."
"Appendicitis?" Hammond repeated. "How did that happen?"
"I don't know, sir," Jack said. "He just started feeling sick and then he collapsed. Sam says he has to have his appendix out."
"I see," Hammond said. "We'll send a MALP and a medical team right away. How far are you from the gate?"
"About 20 minutes, sir," Jack said.
"Alright, O'Neill," Hammond said. "We'll be waiting for you. Hammond out."
Jack put away his radio and looked at his team.
"Alright, people, let's move," he said. "We have to get Daniel to the gate before it's too late."
They nodded and followed him, running as fast as they could.
They didn't know that their troubles were just beginning.
They reached the gate in 15 minutes, thanks to Teal'c's strength and endurance.
They saw the MALP and the medical team waiting for them on the other side of the wormhole.
They also saw a dozen Jaffa guarding the gate, armed with staff weapons and zat guns.
They stopped in their tracks, hiding behind some trees.
"Damn it," Jack muttered. "Where did they come from?"
"I do not know, O'Neill," Teal'c said. "But they are wearing the symbol of Heru'ur."
"Heru'ur?" Sam said. "The hawk-headed Goa'uld? What's he doing here?"
"Maybe he's looking for the ruins," Jack said. "Or maybe he just likes to ruin our day."
He looked at Daniel, who was pale and sweating.
"How are you holding up, Danny?" he asked.
"Not...not good..." Daniel said weakly. "I feel...cold..."
Jack touched his forehead and felt his fever.
"He's burning up," he said. "We have to get him through the gate now."
"But how?" Sam asked. "We can't fight our way through those Jaffa. We're outnumbered and outgunned."
"Maybe we can sneak past them," Jack suggested. "Or distract them somehow."
He looked around, trying to find a way to get to the gate without being seen or shot.
He saw a small hill nearby, with some rocks and bushes on top of it.
He got an idea.
"Teal'c, give me Daniel," he said.
Teal'c handed Daniel over to Jack, who held him in his arms.
"Sam, you and Teal'c go around that hill and wait for my signal," Jack said. "When I give it, you run to the gate and dial Earth. I'll cover you from here."
"What are you going to do, sir?" Sam asked.
"I'm going to make some noise," Jack said. "And hope that those Jaffa are stupid enough to fall for it."
He took out his P90 and checked his ammo.
"Are you sure about this, sir?" Sam asked.
"Nope," Jack said. "But it's our only chance."
He looked at Daniel and smiled reassuringly.
"Don't worry, Danny," he said. "We're gonna get you home."
He kissed his forehead and laid him down on the ground, covering him with his jacket.
He then crawled to the hill, hiding behind a rock.
He aimed his P90 at the Jaffa and waited for the right moment.
He saw one of them walk away from the gate, patrolling the area.
He took a deep breath and pulled the trigger.
The Jaffa fell to the ground with a thud, blood spilling from his chest.
The other Jaffa turned around, startled by the sound of gunfire.
They saw their fallen comrade and shouted in alarm.
They scanned the area, looking for the source of the attack.
Jack fired again, hitting another Jaffa in the head.
The Jaffa dropped dead, his helmet flying off his face.
The remaining Jaffa returned fire, shooting randomly at the hill.
Jack ducked behind his rock, avoiding the blasts of energy.
He hoped that Sam and Teal'c were ready to make their move.
He looked at his radio and pressed the button.
"Now!" he yelled into it.
Sam and Teal'c heard his signal and ran out of their hiding place.
They sprinted towards the gate, dodging the Jaffa's shots.
They reached the DHD and started dialing Earth's address.
The Jaffa saw them and focused their fire on them.
Jack saw them too and fired back at the Jaffa, trying to draw their attention away from them.
He hit two more Jaffa, making them fall to their knees.
He saw Sam finish dialing Earth and press the red button.
The gate activated with a whoosh, forming a blue puddle of light in its center.
Sam grabbed her radio and contacted Earth.
"This is Carter," she said. "We have a medical emergency. We need to bring Daniel through the gate. He has appendicitis."
"Carter, this is Hammond," General Hammond's voice replied. "You have a go. We have a medical team standing by."
"Thank you, sir," Sam said.
She looked at Teal'c, who was holding his staff weapon and shooting at the Jaffa.
"Teal'c, let's go!" she shouted.
Teal'c nodded and followed her to the gate.
They jumped through the wormhole, leaving behind the Jaffa and their planet.
Jack saw them go and felt a surge of relief.
He hoped that Daniel would be okay.
He looked at his P90 and saw that he had only a few bullets left.
He had to get out of there too.
He grabbed his radio and contacted Earth.
"This is O'Neill," he said. "I'm coming in hot. Cover me."
"O'Neill, this is Hammond," Hammond's voice replied. "We have you on our sensors. We'll cover you."
Jack got up from his rock and ran to the gate, firing his P90 at the Jaffa.
He hit one more Jaffa, making him fall to the ground.
He reached the gate and dived through it, hoping that no one would follow him.
He emerged on the other side, in the SGC's gate room.
He saw several soldiers pointing their guns at the gate, ready to shoot any Jaffa that might come through.
He also saw General Hammond standing on the control room balcony, looking down at him.
"Welcome back, Colonel," Hammond said.
"Thank you, sir," Jack said.
He got up from the floor and looked around.
"Where's Daniel?" he asked.
"He's in the infirmary," Hammond said. "Dr. Fraiser is operating on him right now."
"Can I see him?" Jack asked.
"Not yet, Colonel," Hammond said. "You need to be debriefed first. And you need to get checked immediately by Dr. Fraiser too. You might have been exposed to something on that planet."
"Fine," Jack said. "But I want to see Daniel as soon as possible."
"You will, Colonel," Hammond said. "Don't worry. He's in good hands."
Jack nodded and followed Hammond to the briefing room.
He hoped that Daniel would make it through the surgery.
He hoped that he would see his friend again.
A/N:
The planet mentioned here is… the Time Loop Planet.
Somehow, it's actually in character for Jack. "Fatal? As in dead?"
"…or maybe they just like to ruin our day."
"Are you sure about this, sir?" "Nope."
The symptoms of appendicitis are almost correct, but not quite. The pain is very distinctive, it's a sharp stabbing when pressure is released from the lower right quadrant. Usually, applying pressure causes the pain to actually lessen, until the inevitable release.
Having Teal'c carry Daniel over his shoulder ranks up there with outright torture. The pressure on his abdomen would be excruciating at this stage.
Hammond almost went Star Trek there. "What is the nature of your medical emergency?" SO CLOSE!
It's interesting that we've sent a MALP to the planet during a mission. The continuity is a bit unclear here, we supposedly see the MALP through the wormhole, but it's not on the planet? Huh?
How many times are they going to repeat why they're coming through the gate? WE GET IT. Also, cover Jack with what exactly? The MALP you didn't actually send?
Now I'm imagining Janet performing surgery on Daniel while doing post mission checks on the rest of SG-1.
I'll be writing a continuation for this uh, interesting plot next, with my own writing style. Maybe the AI and myself will trade off writing each chapter until we're done? This could be fun!
What other fun parts of this story stand out to you?
