Mother Wolf Ch. 01

It was early in the morning when Twyla's iCoffin went off.

"Ugh!" the Nightmare girl reaches for the device to check it. She sees that it's her best friend and answers. "Howleen? It's too early and by the way. Next time you want to go to some party, leave me out of it. I am not covering for you again."

"Twyla," Howleen says, and a sob can be heard from the other side of the line. "I'm out back. Please let me in."

This worried Twyla. As upset as she is being put on the spot when Clawdeen called her to check up on her sister, hearing her friend crying on the phone worried the ghoul.

Getting out of her bed, Twyla runs out of her room, and takes a short cut to the back door. As soon as the door opened, the wolf ghoul comes in with her makeup running down her face.

"I messed up, Twyla," Howleen confesses. "I messed up big time!"

Twyla hugs her crying friend, thankful that her dad is on a business trip so she wouldn't be worried about her friend waking him up. "Calm down, Howleen. Just tell me what happened, and I'll help you out of this mess like I always do. Well, try to anyway."

That comment made the wolf chuckle a bit and takes a deep breath before saying. "It happened like this…"

Howleen stretches as she finds herself leaving dreamland. Then, she feels pain running through her head as if someone wacked her with a mallet. "Must be why they call it getting hammered," she comments while sitting up. She freezes as her hand touches something, or someone.

Turning, the ghoul had to stop herself from screaming as she finds that her hand has landed on someone's arm. Then, looking down at herself and instinctively uses the blanket to cover up. After taking a look at her surroundings, the ghoul realizes that she is not in her room and starts remembering a few things from the night before.

Going to the party and then feeling funny after drinking some punch.

The ghoul knew she had to get out of there. As quietly and as quickly as she could, Howleen gets dressed, grabs the remainder of her stuff, and leaves through a window. Hoping that no one would know that she was ever there.

A few weeks later

Howleen now sits in a stall in the ghoul's room at Monster High, quietly sobbing as she is holding a small stick with a plus sign on it. A knock then comes at the door of her stall.

"Howleen?" comes Twyla's voice. "How's it going in there?"

The werewolf wipes way some tears before stepping out to see her best friend, worriedly staring at her. Instead of answering her question, Howleen just shows her the stick.

"Well, if the morning sickness wasn't any indication then this just confirms it," the boogie ghoul looks from to stick and up at her friend. "That and the weird cravings."

"Peanut butter is a natural snack for anyone!" Howleen defends. "And I'm part dog too, so of course I'd love peanut butter!"

"On toast it's a natural snack," Twyla bluntly tells her. "Not fish sticks."

That causes the wolf ghoul to flinch, knowing that she is right. She lets out a growl. "Why did it have to be fish stick? I hate fish sticks."

"So…" the light skinned ghoul draws out. "What's next?"

Howleen just approaches the sink and looks at herself through the mirror. "I'm not sure. I think I just need to be alone for a little while, Twyla. You go on to class. I'll catch up later."

Twyla just hugs her best friend before retreating the ghoul's room.

The wolf ghoul has no idea how long she stood there, staring at her image. She eventually picks up her iCoffin. "Hello? I would like to make an appointment for tomorrow."

Unbeknownst to Howleen, the door to the restroom was cracked open with a piercing green eye spying on her.
