I hope you catches de story, and you tell me your opinions, through them I know if I'm on the right track.
Remember English is not my native language, I hope the translation is correct, I check it, but sometimes I miss some incorrect, sorry.
I repeat, I am not the owner of the characters, I only rely on them for the sheer pleasure of practice writing stories without any economic interest, and these two characters inspire me.
Chapter 1. The congress
It was Sunday mid-morning, a sunny day in June, Chandler walked Monica to the train station, which would leave for Burlington, Vermont, at 10 am.- The children, who were 3 years old at the time, had stayed in Aunt Rachel's house, waiting for dad, and playing with their cousin. -
Monica was going to a Bakery Congress that would last 3 days, from Monday to Wednesday, so she had a return ticket for Thursday.
Chandler hugged Monica and gave her a tender kiss first and then a passionate one.
"Love, enjoy the congress and bring all the possible ideas, on Thursday I'll come to pick you up, I think the train will arrive around 6 pm, right?
"Yes honey, I'm going to miss you so much…" Monica said with a hint of nostalgia.
"I know, and we even more, but enjoy every moment"
They kissed again, Monica got on the train, Chandler waited for her to leave, they waved at each other, they both kissed each other a lot until the train disappeared."
Monica had been thinking about opening a bakery for a long time, the job in Javu was a success, but after moving to Long Island, she was getting tired of the schedules, especially the dinner shifts. After closing she had more than an hour on the road, and when she got home she found everyone asleep, and that feeling was bothering her. She enjoyed having time and dinner with her husband and her children, and she was missing those moments. That's why six months after the move she quit her job at Javu.
It had been over two years since she had stopped working and now she was considering setting up a bakery near the house with Chandler. There the hours would be during the day, and with the help of a couple of collaborators she would have more freedom of hours and she could be at home every afternoon and evening, and at the same time return to the kitchens.
Chandler liked the idea, he also missed her when she worked the night shift, and although he had gotten used to taking care of the kids, preparing dinner, bathing and putting them to bed, he missed the company of his wife. He tried to stay awake until she returned, but most nights he succumbed after a hard day's work and childcare. And when the night shift was on a Friday or a Saturday it was even worse because that didn't allow them to make plans together as a couple, many times he would go to barbecues at Ross's or Mike's house alone with the kids, and it made him miss her even more.
Chandler had received several promotions in the last four years, which had increased his income considerably, and Monica, her excellent job at Javu, had brought better salaries, so they had managed to save enough to embark on this adventure. They had looked for premises close to his house to rent, and had found out the costs of the installation
They were both enthusiastic, so when Monica found out about this congress, she immediately signed up, since there would not only be baking and pastry classes, but also conferences on the administration and development of this type of venture.
The following mornings, before the conference activities, and at night when she returned to her room, she would call Chandler to tell him what she had learned and heard, and she seemed very excited.
Coming out of the shower Thursday morning, Chandler found a voice message over the cell phone from Monica.
"Love, I'm out of battery, I can't find the charger, but I wanted to let you know that I'll be back tomorrow, same train schedule, later I'll tell you why, kisses, I love you and be..." and the communication was cut off.
Chandler was calm, surely there would be another conference outside of the congress that Monica would be interested in attending.
That night, since he hadn't heard from Monica, he called her cell phone, but it turned off and out of the area, he didn't give it too much importance, he was tired and went to sleep.
Friday morning after breakfast, and still without any call from Monica, he redialed her number and again turned her off or out of the area.
This caught his attention, so he called the Hotel where Monica was staying, which was also where the congress had been held, the Hilton Burlington Lake, and asked to be transferred to her room. After a short wait, the receptionist told him that no one answered in that room.
Chandler asked if Mrs. Monica Geller Bing was still staying there, and the clerk noticed and said, "Yes sir, she's still our guest."
Chandler asked if he could leave a message in her mailbox.
When he hangs up the phone he was a little worried, he hadn't really spoken to her since Wednesday morning, and the last thing he had from her was the message she had left him the day before that morning as well.
He tried not to be alarmed, maybe she was having breakfast…. or she had gone out to buy a souvenir for the children….
In the afternoon, even without news, he went to wait for her at the station. The train arrived on time, he waited for her at the entrance of the corresponding platform, people went by, but no sign of Monica.
At that point Chandler was scared, he went first to his house to see if there was any message on the answering machine or if she had traveled in another way, but there was no one.
He ran to Ross's house; everyone knew from his face that something bad was happening. Chandler filled them in on all the details of the last two days, playing them through the message from the day before in the morning.
Rachel and Ross were very worried. Ross suggested calling the police.
They did so, the police showed up at Ross's house and took an interest in the case, they were told that they would contact the Burlington police because, if Monica's last location was in that city, they would have to file a complaint, they would not could do a lot from NY.
One of the cops asked Chandler if everyone was okay at his wedding.
Chandler looked at him with icy eyes, "Lieutenant, my wife and I love each other, she would never leave, she would not leave our children or me, she is not that kind of person"
Rachel took his hand, and Ross replied, "Mr. you have no idea who my sister was, she loves her family, she would never leave, something must have happened to her."
The lieutenant suggested that Chandler travel to Burlington, since from there he could further the search, Chandler accepted the advice, and Ross told him that they would go together, they would try to find a flight as soon as possible.
Chandler was terrified, his stomach was clenched, his sweaty hands were shaking, all kinds of sinister things went through his head, an accident, a kidnapping, she would be alive…. What would he do without her, it was the end of his world.
Rachel had called Jack to update him on what was happening, they had to know, and she also called Phoebe who immediately ran to the house.
Everyone was scared, very scared, the uncertainty was unbearable.
Chandler paced back and forth, he couldn't stop.
When Ross confirmed the flights they left for the airport.
They arrived in Burlington before sunup and went straight to the police.
Lieutenant Samuel Bronson attended to them attentively, asked them a series of questions in order to determine Monica's situation, and through the prosecutor obtained a court order to enter the hotel room.
Chandler, among the alternatives, was thinking of was the possibility that Monica had broken down in the room, or she had fallen and passed out.
Before entering, the Lieutenant asked them not to touch anything.
But when entering the room there was no one, all of Monica's clothes were still hanging, her empty bag on a chair, in her bathroom were all her belongings, the only thing missing was her bag.
The lieutenant asked they what she used to carry on it.
"Lieutenant, she has her credit cards, the register, the wallet, photos of my children and me, the house keys, the mobile phone, some lipstick or blush, I don't remember anything else." Said Chandler with a trembling voice
One of the agents looked under the bed and found the phone charger.
"Surely she dropped it at some point, she couldn't find it and she couldn't charge it, that's why she told you it was out of battery..." Lieutenant Bronson deduced
"Look Mr. Bing, just in case we are going to track for prints inside the room. We will give the alert with the photo of your wife, and we will begin the search in the surroundings, and even in the station to establish if someone saw her get on a train." Informed Lieutenant Bronson.
Chandler was pale, his head was exploding, he couldn't think logically, he was only acting out the worst scenarios.
"Lieutenant, what happens if we check with the organizers of the Congress, maybe they know something, or they can give us information about those who participated and we could ask them if they know anything, if they saw she" asked Ross
"Look, the congress ended three days ago, surely the organizers are no longer there, but we can make inquiries in that regard, I still think there were about 800 attendees, so it will not be easy to locate someone who has seen she." Bronson said
Chandler's voice was firm. "Lieutenant, if we have to talk to half the country, we'll do it, if you provide me with the list and the phone number we'll take care of it"
"Mr. Bing, that's our job, also if you call they probably won't tell you anything, but they respect the police in a search case, just give me time"
"Lieutenant, we don't have time, I don't have time, I'm desperate, I don't know what happened to her, I don't know if she's dead or kidnapped…" Chandler said desperately.
"Calm down, in that state you are not helping us or helping yourself, we know the protocol and we will follow it to the letter, we will not stop looking for she, rounds of police and neighbors are leaving, searching all the surrounding areas" "Rest a little, check in at the hotel, any news we will notify you immediately"
Chandler and Ross settled in a room, but Chandler was pacing from one side to the other, his hands were trembling, his legs barely supported him, Ross asked him to please sit down for just a moment, and asked for something light in room service
Chandler didn't feel like eating anything, his stomach was closed, but, not to listen to this insufferable Geller, he ate just a few bites and had to run to the bathroom to vomit.
At this point, Ross was not only very worried about his sister, but now he was also worried about Chandler, he didn't know how much his body was going to resist so much pressure.
