Father slams open the double doors making all of jump. "Well, that takes care of that!" he grins at evil smile and my heart starts to pound. My feline senses are telling me something awful has happened to Marinette. I narrow my eyes, trying to keep my temper. "Taken care of what?" Father opens his palm and I gasp when I see Ladybug's earrings twinkling in the firelight.

There's no time to hide for her life could be in danger. "Plagg, Claws Out!" Without warning, I pin Father against the wall with my baton. "What. Did. You. Do. With. Her?" I slowly enunciate each word clearly. "Disposed for her which I should have done the last time I had the chance. And seeing that your not going to change sides, I'll have to get rid of you too, Cat Noir."

I keep my eyes locked on his but just in the corner, I see Sapphire creeping towards me. Her face reads, "Keep him talking to distract him while I grab the earrings." I move my baton just an inch back. "Oh, really and how do you suppose to do that?"

But Hawkmoth never gets that chance, for the lanterns on the walls plunge into darkness and a I can see a wall of water heading towards us. Sapphire snatches the earrings just as a giant wave thunders over us. Ladybug was right, the storm is here. And its taking us all with us.

I'm tossed about like I'm in a washing machine and I have dodge debris. But then, I see a tiny butterfly shaped object flashing like a beacon. The Butterfly Miraculous! It must of come off Father's lapel when the tidal wave washed over us. Just as I'm zipping up my pocket with it, I see the shape of Father floating unconscious in the water.

I swim towards him quickly, but when I reach him his eyes are closed in death. I didn't reach him in time and there was no going back for him. Slowly, I let go and he sinks until he disappears.

I shake myself and then black out as a rock or brick hurls into me. Darkness fills my visions, but I welcome this world. No pain, no worries.

I didn't know death will feel this uncomfortable. I feel like a rock is pounding at my stomach, over and over again. And what is dribbling from my mouth? That's not drool, is it? No wonder Marinette always got annoyed when that happened. The rock slams into me again and I snap open my eyes. "Hey, that's hurts!"

My vision is a little fuzzy still, but when I get in focus I can see the faces of Orion, Sapphire, and Crone. But there's one face missing, and that hurts even more then the rock. Orion gently palpates my stomach and I glare up at him when other jet of water leaves my mouth. "So, you were the rock!" I try to sit up, but then think better of it and Orion gently pushes me back down. "Easy, Cat. You have a lot of water in your stomach." "I wonder if this is how that god Neptune felt? So glad I'm a mortal," I joke, and Sapphire bursts into giggles. "Any sign of Marinette?" The joking mood vanishes. "No. Its a miracle we all found each other," Crone says. "But don't worry, dear. We won't give up on her."

I rest and nap under a giant palm tree until my stomach feels better. I guess I'm been out since yesterday, and some locals who live on this island helped us get to shore.

Crone comes over with a plate of fish and rice and sits down beside me. I eat hungrily, but my heart feels hollow. I wish Grandma Pyo was here to give me some comforting words. "Don't you like the food, dear?" "Everyone I loved or have loved in my life is dead. How can I be happy?" "Now, we don't know for sure what happened to your Marinette, and what I've heard and seen from her, she's quite the brave and clever girl. Keep your chin up." "Thanks. I think I'll go down and take a walk by the beach."

I stand down in the surf, letting the surf wash over me. I don't know if its my feline sense, but I know Marinette is close by. But is she alive or dead? "Claws Out," I whisper and power up, and quietly dive beneath the waves.

Now that the water is calm, the ocean is beautiful and shoals of beautiful fish swim by me. But then, in the distance, I hear a strange whistling and clicking noise.

Ooof! I'm barreled over and I tumble in the surf as two dolphins bat me around like a plaything. "Hey, I'm a Cat, not a beach ball!" I laugh. Now they nuzzle at me, and one gently nudges me to follow her. "Okay, lead the way." Dolphins are one of the most smart creatures on the planet, so if dolphin wants me to follow, I will follow.

The take me to a cave with a narrow entrance and even with my cat-vision, its very dark inside. The left dolphin nudges me again. "You want me to go in there?" I point with a nervous finger. Now both dolphins do a loopy-DE-loop around me. "Okay."

Please let there be no eels to nibble at my toes, I whisper to myself. Luckily, there are no eels and I climb into a cavern. I shake myself and look around, only for my eyes to fall on Marinette Dupain-Cheng.

She's poking at a small fire with a stick, seeming to be lost in thought. I clear my throat quietly. "Excuse me, Princess?" "Not now, Cat…." she mutters, then realization sweeps across her features. "Cat! Oh, my love, Cat!"

I sweep her up into a hug and we are crying, laughing and meowing. "Your back, and your not dead! But how?" I stoke her hair as she explains. "Hawkmoth locked me in a closet in the library, but what he didn't know there was a ladder leading to a turret where I jumped into the sea. If I would have waited any longer the tidal wave would have killed me." I can't help but let the tears fall. "We were swept away by the wave. I'm certain my Miraculous saved me. Oh," I place my hands my hands at her waist. "Marinette, Hawkmoth is dead. And I have this." I unzip my pocket where the Butterfly Miraculous has been and hand it over. "Adrien, I'm so sorry." "He...he had it coming, for evil never wins. He had his chance, M'lady. You made sure of that."

Just then, the dolphins return and do a leap, soaking us both. Marinette makes a face as she drops my hands and walks over to them. "Castor, Pollux, what have we talked about? I know you get excited but you soak me every time."

I burst into laughter, holding my sides and Marinette looks up at me. "Oh, excuse me? Do you think this is funny? I don't like getting splashed!" "Now you know how I feel about baths, my love….hahha! The look on your face!"

Marinette groans. "You are such a dork. Come on." "Come on, where?" "Aren't you staying on an island?" My eyes glitter with humor. "Yes, I am. But I don't know if it has coffee." "I should have left you in the cave."

The dolphins take us to the island, and our friends are waiting. "Cat, your back, and Marinette! Marinette is okay!"

There's more hugging and squealing, and even if I like happy endings, I think I need a nap. "Cat," Sapphire whispers, handing me the earrings. "Thanks. Marinette?" Marinette cries when she gets her earrings back and covers my face with kisses. "Don't thank me, thank Sapphire!" Sapphire backs away from us. "I'm good for kisses, but thanks."

Just as Marinette is about to turn in for the night, I realize there's something I must do. "Marinette?" "Yes?" I fish out the ring that I bought back in Paris. "Marinette, or maybe I should say, M'lady. I have loved you every since I laid eyes on you and will love you forever. Will you marry me?" I say, getting down on one knee.

The ring sparkles in the light of the shimmering sliver moon. Marinette backs up a step, covering her mouth with her hand. "Oh...oh." "Love, your supposed to say yes," I whisper. "Oh, oh yes, I'll marry you!"

I lift her into my arms and kiss her, tenderly and adoringly. Against all the odds, we have done it. I lower her slowly to the sand. "I guess I should let you get some sleep now, love." Marinette giggles, winding her arms around my shoulders. "Will you wake me with a cup of coffee under my nose in the morning?" I laugh, booping her nose. "I think we can make that happen."

It does happen, and now there's a wedding to plan. It seems though that Sapphire and Marinette have everything under control and Orion and I are to simply show up.

"So, after all our adventures, are you still going to do rice farming?" Orion shakes his head. "I'm still going to do farming, but not with rice. If I can buy a tiny island, I think I little plot to garden in will do just fine." "How about we be neighbors? Hey, tell you what, I'll pay for the island you want, and I'll make it a wedding surprise for Marinette." "But I can't just make you pay for an island." "Your pay me back when you baby-sit our kids. You two are going to be the most fun uncle and aunt ever."

"Seeing that you've proposed to Marinette, I think its high time I propose to Sapphire." "Congrats." The day flow swiftly by as the wedding date grows closer, and I feel like the luckiest kitty on the planet.
