Chapter 729: Beaulieu Manor
Tuesday, March 21st, Afternoon
Where the East Range of Beaulieu Manor was well appointed and comfortable as the residential area, the West Range was the opposite. The West Range was where the business of Davis Enterprises was done. The West Range had its fashionable spaces but was primarily practical in nature. Those chic spaces were for the VIPs; those VIPs rarely entered the rest. There wasn't much for them to see there anyway. Brooke had two offices, one for work and one for entertainment.
Bobbi-Lee looked over the conference room in the west range. She hated being in the office, but this was an important meeting, and she had to be present. She nodded and sighed; the Paris Conference Room and this was one of the most critical meetings every year. She looked up at the whiteboard, and the words scrawled in blue dry erase marker, titled Spring Season.
Finally, she sighed and turned to look at the head of the table. Her boss, Brooke Davis, sat on one side of the table; so everyone could look up at the large flat-screen TV with the major regional Vice-President and the Chief Operations Officer on the screen.
"Okay, thanks for your time; I know y'all are busy," Brooke said.
"We have Spring Season shows coming up. So, we're here to start the organizational process," Sabrina Cohen, the Chief Operations officer based in New York City, said from her place on the screen.
"Have we started with the venue searches?" Brooke asked.
"We have started looking," Trinity "Trin" Adams, the vice-president of New York Region, said.
"How are they looking?" Brooke asked.
"There are several that are promising, but will there be two shows again like the Fall Season?" Trin asked.
"How many shows did we have last fashion week?" Brooke asked.
"A few months ago, we ran two," Trin said.
"How did the show for Banríon do?" Brooke asked.
"It was well received and has shown good growth in sales," Sabrina said.
"So, I would assume we're rerunning two shows," Trin said.
"That would be a good assumption," Sabrina said.
"Okay, I'll make sure we plan for two," Trin said.
"Are you ready for this, Bobbi?" Brooke asked.
Bobbi-Lee looked at Brooke for a long moment. "What?" she asked.
"Can you handle another solo show?" Brooke asked.
Bobbi-Lee nodded, "Of course, I can, and I'll do it," she said.
Brooke smiled, "Good," she said and turned to the monitor, "So, we'll be doing two New York Spring Fashion Week shows."
"Alright, Brooke," Sabrina said, "So, let's knock this out quickly."
"Alright, we'll have to find two venues," Trin said.
"Good," Brooke said.
"Are you ready for another, Bobbi?" Sabrina asked.
"Yes, I am," Bobbi-Lee said.
"Do you know where you want to have your show?" Trin asked.
Bobbi-Lee shrugged, "How about on the deck of the Intrepid?" she asked.
"The aircraft carrier?" Brooke asked.
"Yes, the aircraft carrier," Bobbi-Lee said.
"Why do it there?" Sabrina asked.
"Just think about it, long legs and the big guns," Brooke said, laughing.
"Yeah, that too," Bobbi-Lee said.
"I'm missing something here," Sabrina said.
"It's on the Hudson River; there will be wind blowing up the river and across the deck, especially that time of year," Trin said.
"I have an idea; we can use the bridge as a windbreak," Bobbi-Lee said.
"The bridge? No, the GW is upriver of the Intrepid," Trin said.
"No, no, the ship's bridge, the big tower," Bobbi-Lee said.
"Oh, yeah, I get it, a windbreak," Trin said.
"Good idea, but we should have a backup plan," Sabrina said.
"A strip club? They already have the stage," Bobbie-Lee said.
"Not funny, Bobbi," Sabrina said.
"It's going to sound cliche," Bobbi-Lee said, "But there is a safe option."
"Where?" Sabrina asked.
"The grand ballroom of the Manhattan Center, hell, I'd even take the Hammerstein Ballroom," Bobbi-Lee said.
"I'll have to check the budget," Trin said.
"The Unification Church owns the Manhattan Center," Sabrina said.
"Not an issue; many people do business there and with the church," Sabrina said.
"Okay, good, that's settled," Brook said.
"Brooke, try the usual places?" Trin asked.
"Of course, and I'll be in touch about themes and color palettes," Brooke said.
"Okay, now comes the next question, the European Shows. Will Banríon get their own shows?" Sabrina asked.
"Do we have the figures to warrant it?" Bobbi-Lee asked, concerned.
"No," Trin said, as most shows were run through her region, she had the figures handy.
"We'll get you there," Brooke said.
"How?" Bobbi-Lee asked.
"I have an in with someone over in England," Brooke said.
"Go on," Bobbi-Lee said.
"They were commissioned to write and run a series set in an American high school. I believe it's a fish out of water English Rose in an American High School story for the British Audience," Brooke said.
"Okay?" Bobbi-Lee asked.
"They want the actors playing the Americans to look, well, American. I think it would be perfect for Banríon," Brooke said.
Bobbi-Lee smiled and nodded, "Alright, I'm in," she said.
Brooke nodded, "Good, and let's finish this meeting," she said.
"Let's do this, next up," Sabrina said as the meeting continued.
