Seeing his deep concern for her, Elsa knew that she had failed to keep up her façade. Admitting defeat, Elsa finally agreed to Subaru's request.
"Alright, Subaru…"
Taking her by the hand, Elsa knew that this was for the best… however, as she reached out to his hand, a tear escaped from her eye that did not get passed Subaru…
"Elsa, hey… what's wrong?" Subaru asked with concern as he went closer and gently held her cheek.
"I-I… I don't know… I-I don't know what's happening to me, Subaru" Elsa exclaimed as she then broke down in seeing Subaru's face of concern.
"Everything hurts! My mind is spinning every morning! I-I just don't know what's happening to me!"
"Hey, calm down, Elsa. Calm down. I got you, okay?" Subaru responded as he gently took Elsa to his chest.
Sobbing into his chest, Elsa opened up to Subaru about her anxiety of not being able to bear him his child… not being able to give him the family he wanted…
"Elsa, you and Meili are my family right now… Look, this sickness is just momentary, alright… Chamomile and the other healers will know what to do when you're there…"
As Elsa continued to sob in his chest, Subaru was trying to come up with a way to alleviate her burden. Thinking about the ability "Lion's heart" to alleviate her burden, Subaru figured one similar Authority at his disposal that could do the job, the Authority of Wrath. Although he used it to transmit senses of others to other people, he still hasn't used it to share his own senses with other people.
Calming his heart and focusing his love for her, Subaru accessed his Authority of Wrath. Putting his forehead against hers, "I am using my powers on you now… This is just a temporary fix for now but as soon as we get to the healers, all will be fine, alright… I promise you… I swear nothing bad will ever happen to you… I love you, Elsa" Subaru said as an intense emotion of passion came over him in his last statement.

Although the clinic seemed small, with its physical structure outside comparable to a medium-sized two floor residential, in reality, it was one of the largest clinics in Kararagi. With three underground floors and its structure underground covering about two thousand square meters, the clinic could be seen as a miniature hospital. Funded by the Hoshin Group, it also holds one of the best healthcare services.
Providing healthcare to all walks of life, the clinic never saw a shortage of patients, even people from other nations journey quite a distance just to receive its healthcare. Surely, if there was any sickness, this clinic would be the one to cure such illness.
Entering the clinic amidst its hustle and bustle, the Natsuki family drew the attention of numerous Kararagian residents. Seeing their respective heroes, the villagers couldn't help but wonder why they were here.
After entertaining the greetings and questions of their fellow villagers, they would soon be approached by their specially assigned healer, Chamomile. Although very young, she remains to be one of the clinic's brightest stars. In addition, she knew the couple personally as she acted as their older sister for quite some time when they were young. Even though they now have their various titles in Kararagi, Subaru and Elsa still address Chamomile as Big Sis, and likewise, Chamomile still address them as "Baru" and "Elsa".
Hiding behind Elsa, the little Meili, in her blue dress, tried to avoid her long blonde-haired auntie, Chamomile.
"Meili ~ I could see you ~" Chamomile said teasingly.

"Looks like she is still a bit mad at you with the injection last month. *chuckle*" Subaru said as he then tried to gesture to Meili come out and greet her Auntie.

"R-Really!?" Meili remarked which made Chamomile, Subaru, and Elsa laugh at her very adorable reaction.
"E-Ehem… Ummm, bring in some of Shadow's doggy treats and you have a deal!" Meili replied to which her Auntie Chamomile responded, "You run a hard bargain but Deal!" as she then shook Meili's hand.
After finishing their greetings and catching up, Chamomile asked, "How can I help you, Baru and Elsa?"
"Elsa needs a checkup, Big Sis" Subaru said as he then whispered to Chamomile, "She is in great pain.
Looking back at the rather very happy Meili and Shadow playing with each other, Chamomile understood why they were hiding this situation from their daughter.
Understanding the situation, Chamomile nodded and said, "I see, Lets go to my office quickly"
After heading down to the third basement level, the family walked past a slew of offices and patients before finally reaching Chamomile's office which was at the end of the corridor.
Upon entering the office, Chamomile immediately gave Meili her Chocolate so that she could settle quickly in the consultation room with Shadow.
After leading Subaru and Elsa to the observation room, Chamomile then asked Elsa to head into the Healing room, where a clinical bed, surrounded by multiple metias and elixirs, was waiting for her.
After getting Elsa settled on the bed, Chamomile now began to assess Elsa's body via her healing magic. However, upon assessment, Chamomile was immediately taken aback by an unknown "energy" enveloping Elsa's body. It wasn't mana nor an influence of a Divine Protection.
"What is this?" Chamomile muttered.
"What do you mean?"
Looking closer into the flow of the energy, Chamomile could see that unknown energy was coming from Subaru.
"It's coming from you, Baru"
Realizing that it was his Authority, Subaru explained that he was suppressing Elsa's pain by sharing his senses with her.
Although really surprised that such abilities existed, Chamomile explained to Subaru that she needed him to cut off his power so that she could properly examine Elsa's body.
"Okay, Okay, I understand." Subaru said as he then gently held Elsa's hand.
"Don't worry, honey. You've given me all the rest I need. I'll be fine." Elsa said with a smile, reassuring Subaru.
Nodding his head, Subaru immediately cut off his Authority. And with Elsa's body now free from Subaru's authority, Elsa felt the surge of body aches and headaches come back to her.
Although she flinched from the pain, Elsa was steadfast and kept her focus… Controlling her breathing and minimizing her movement, Subaru knew that Elsa was doing her best to suppress the pain.
Chamomile was shocked at the level of stress Elsa's Od was in. It was fluctuating wildly that it is a surprise that she is still able to move, let alone talk. Fluctuations such as this usually occur when a body sustains a sharp cut. In Elsa's case, it was like she was getting poked by numerous needles over and over. Chamomile couldn't imagine the level of pain Elsa was in.
With sweat pouring down all over, Chamomile moved her hands all around Elsa's body to properly assess Elsa's condition.
After her examination, Chamomile tried to make out what Elsa's illness was. Assessing the fluctuations throughout Elsa's body, Chamomile could surmise that it was a very simple sickness, however, what she didn't understand was why it was so extreme. Knowing Elsa personally, she tried to search in her mind for a plausible reason for it to occur.
Delving into Elsa's mercenary background with Subaru, Chamomile found her answer. Immediately heading out to the cabinet on her right, Chamomile took out a blue vial.
"Elsa, take a drink of this, okay. This should significantly reduce the pain."
Upon ingestion, Elsa could slowly feel the effect of the elixir make its way all throughout her body. The stinging pain she was feeling finally started to subside. Accompanied by a tingling sensation all throughout her body, her mind too started to get clearer. After giving a relieved exhale, Elsa thanked Chamomile for her work.
"Don't thank me yet, I will do a quick examination again, okay" Chamomile said as she began to assess Elsa's body once more.
As she was examining Elsa, Chamomile couldn't help but smile at how adorable Subaru and Elsa were interacting. Holding each other's hand, reassuring each other, Chamomile felt like she was seeing an old married couple.
Finishing her inspection of her normalized Od, Chamomile smile lightly as she was delighted to know that her initial suspicions were true. "Congratulations, you two"
Now having pinpointed the points of her pain, Chamomile now began to heal these points and truly remove Elsa's body aches and headaches.
Upon finishing, Chamomile explained to Subaru and Elsa what she had done. Going over with the blue elixir Elsa ingested, it was actually a desensitization medicine concocted usually for people with very sensitive senses. Referring back to Elsa's techniques of heightening senses, Chamomile surmised that Elsa's body was operating well-above of what a normal person is used to feeling, even when she is not using her technique.
"That is why the symptoms of your sickness were more severe than they actually should be. As soon as the elixir wears off, your body shall return back to its normal sensitivity, so I advise you to refrain from using those techniques for some time, at least up until this sickness goes away."
"Goes away? What do you mean? Didn't you cure her just now?" Subaru responded with a look of surprise on his face.
"Ah… Ummm… I don't know how to say this but… these headaches and body aches will come back from time to time"
"W-What do you mean, Big Sis!? Are you saying that Elsa will continue to get hurt like this!" Subaru responded, which made Elsa grip back to his hand with worry.
"It will not be as severe as you might think, Subaru. Also, this kind of sickness is not something that could easily be removed."
"A-Am I going to die?" Elsa said which made Subaru look at Chamomile with great worry.
"It isn't that at all. It's… Baru, I need you to get back to the consultation room and let me talk to Elsa alone." Chamomile said to which Subaru immediately retorted, "Why!? I'm her husband. Surely, I can hear my own wife's diagnostic"
Seeing that Subaru wouldn't budge, Chamomile figured to corner Elsa so that she could force Subaru away.
"Baru… As her healer, I have a hunch on what kind of sickness it is… however, the problem is that I have to make sure that she has experienced certain symptoms in order to be sure… other than the body aches and headaches…" Chamomile said as she then looked back at Elsa and continued, "And I think it would be best that you shouldn't hear the other symptoms that your wife continues to hide."
"E-Elsa… What does she mean?"
"Do you want to hear my guess?" Chamomile said to which Elsa immediately reply with, "No need… *sigh* Subaru, please go back to the consultation room… Umm… I promise that I'll say everything to you later, okay?"
"Elsa…"
"She'll be fine Baru, I promise. She is in no danger at all." Chamomile whispered, reassuring him with a smile as she gently led Subaru out of the room.
"Then…?"
"You'll understand later." Chamomile said with a wink as she closed the door.
Finally leaving Subaru with Meili and Shadow, Chamomile immediately went to Elsa who was still nervous about her diagnosis.
"Now then, Elsa…" Chamomile said as she then pointed out the symptoms Elsa had failed to mention to Subaru… Her sense of taste becoming more acidic… Her sense of smell becoming too sensitive… Her loss of appetite… Her fatigue… Her nauseousness…
And just like what she had expected, Elsa admitted in hiding all of these symptoms. And as Elsa explained that she hid all this because she was afraid of not being able to conceive Subaru's child, Chamomile hid her smile as she then lightly teased Elsa.
"Well, you are not going to get pregnant by Baru anymore, Elsa"
"W-What?... What did you say?" Elsa said as she slowly sat up from the bed with eyes filled with worry.
"I said you are not going to get pregnant by Baru anymore"
Shaking her head lightly as despair started to sink in, she asked, "B-But why?"
And just as despair was about to take hold, Chamomile replied as she gently laid her hand on Elsa's stomach, "Because you are already pregnant with his child right now"
"W-What?" Elsa replied as she looked back at Chamomile in disbelief. Smiling back at Elsa, Chamomile reiterated, "Elsa, you are pregnant! Congratulations!"
Blinking twice, she tried to process the news she had just heard. Although it was only just seconds, to her mind, it felt longer, as emotions of joy and imagery of a dream fulfilled flooded her mind. They did it. They were going to have a child born out of their love for one another… She smiled… She shivered… She couldn't believe what was happening… "I-I'm going to be a mother… I-I" Elsa stuttered as she then placed both of her hands to her mouth as tears of joy began pour out of her eyes.
Hugging Chamomile, Elsa exclaimed, "I'm going to be a mother!"
Returning Elsa's embrace, Chamomile joined Elsa in her joy of motherhood. As Elsa let out all of her pent-up joy and anxiety, Chamomile made sure that she was there for her at that moment.
After both let out all the cheers and laughter from the news, Chamomile finished, "You are going to be a great Mother, Elsa."

Citing it as a "rare but benign condition", Chamomile reassured Subaru that what he just saw a while ago was just a result of Elsa's heightened sensitivity. With the elixir she had given Elsa, Chamomile was sure that it wouldn't happen again.
Bringing up the list that Chamomile made as well as the many medicines and elixirs given to her, Elsa had to explain to Subaru that her regular activities have to stop for the meantime for a laxer schedule.
Chamomile explained to Subaru that Elsa's healing will take longer than usual, in the upwards of months. Looking back up to Subaru, Chamomile expects him to take care of Elsa of whatever she may need during this time.
"I am counting on you to take care of Elsa, alright, Baru?" Chamomile said to which Subaru nodded in agreement.
Holding Elsa's hands with full support, Subaru swore that he would do his very best to take care of her…

Upon finishing their checkup, the Natsuki family would now make its way to a nearby eatery. However before arriving at the said eatery, they would be approached and greeted by the sky-blue haired mercenary, Lucius, and his squad.
"Lucius, how are you doing!? It has been a while since we last saw each other." Elsa said with a smile as he then saw Lucius look back at her head to toe.
"It truly has been a while Lady Elsa, how long has it been again?"
"Lady Elsa!? My, my, since when did you become the gentleman-type? *chuckle* It has been five years since you left. I could see that you have truly grown to quite a man." Elsa replied, comparing Lucius's lean skinny physique back then to his now bulkier appearance.
"Well, you have truly blossomed to a beautiful flower, yourself, Lady Elsa." Lucius said as he gently took and kissed Elsa's hand.
"Oh!? My, my, Lucius-" Elsa exclaimed in surprise.
Before Elsa could comment on how Lucius has gotten bolder, Subaru went between them and wagged his finger at Lucius.

And just like from before, he got scolded, however, it was by Elsa this time. Seeing the light banter of Subaru and Elsa, Lucius chuckled, and said, "I'm sorry that I did that, Subaru. I just couldn't help but tease you a little is all."
After the trio got a good laugh, Subaru asked Lucius, "Why are you in the village? No mission for the day?", after which Subaru gave two blinks, signaling to him if he had any urgent message to him.
Seeing the signal, Lucius closed his eyes and scratched his chin for a few seconds, signaling that he does have an urgent message for him. "Well, just a bit of some intelligence gathering as usual, how about you?"
"Oh, we just got out from the clinic here. Turns out that Elsa got a rare illness that will make her lay back for a while. Chamomile said it isn't that serious, but Elsa's usage of her techniques just worsens her condition, so there will be no Lilac Shadow for a while."
Widening his eyes, Lucius replied, "Is that so? Well… How long until we see Kararagi's Lilac Shadow come back into action once again?"
"I don't know but it will certainly be a while. Based on the amount of medication given to us, it will certainly be at least a month."
Hearing this, Lucius closed his eyes and nodded his head. Giving a light smile, Lucius then said, "Well, I hope that Elsa recovers from this illness as soon as possible."
"Elsa?" Elsa muttered as she was not used to Lucius calling her name in full, as he would usually shorten everyone's names.
Although she felt a bit saddened at this fact since she always found his nickname calling to be a gesture of closeness, Elsa must come to grips with the reality that five years apart could definitely change a person one way or the other.
However, even with this, Elsa still believed that Lucius was still the same kind and helpful person as he was before, as she still could see the dog tag, that the four of them all signed, around his neck. While each had their own dog tags, be that of Lucius, Subaru, Elsa, and Anastasia, it was only Lucius who wore it proudly every day around his neck.
After they finished catching up with each other, Lucius and his squad slowly parted ways with the Natsuki family.
However, as soon as Subaru led Elsa, Meili, and Shadow to their table, Subaru made an excuse to them that he forgot to tell Lucius something important.

"Okay, what is the news?" Subaru said as his ears were all perked up for the new information regarding their mission.
"The planned excursion of the Witch Cult will happen ten days from now in the exact same village we identified prior… Also, we managed to identify that one of the caves due north of that village as one of the Witch Cult's base of operations…"
"Great, the question now would be is how many are we facing?"
"A good hundred at least and one of the Elite guards."
"Who is the Elite Guard?"
"Ardor Payne"
"Ardor…!? But isn't he supposed to be dead!? Didn't Balleroy kill him amidst the Dracroy mansion invasion!?"
"Well, according to what we have gathered so far, he is alive and well, and will be the one leading the charge in collecting more "toys" for their Sin Archbishop." Lucius said which left Subaru in disbelief.
As Subaru pondered on how Ardor survived, Subaru remembered what Al said about their opponents in the mansion, and that they were "curse dolls". Having fought a cursed doll in Elsa in his prior world, Subaru knew about the dangers of such an opponent. Able to regenerate and attack ceaselessly, it would be a nightmare for any ordinary opponent.
Remembering their entanglements with the cursed doll, Elsa, before, the cursed doll should have been killable… However, remembering one of the stories of Meili from his previous world… Meili boasted that should Elsa have been a "perfect" doll in their fight, the Emilia Camp would have surely lost…
"Perfect Curse Doll…" Subaru muttered to which it made Lucius narrow his eyes in disbelief, as well as his squad, look back at Subaru.
"How did you know that?" Lucius asked as he looked back at Subaru with curiosity.
"O-Oh, Well, I Uhhh encountered one of them back in the day… an incomplete one… and told me about their secrets."
"Oh, really? What does that person look like?" Lucius asked as he held his chin in waiting for Subaru's answer.
"It was a female with long black hair and… Ummm… and she wielded two Kukri knives!"
"A female curse doll?"
"Y-Yeah, but enough of that… I think I have a plan covered for that perverted curse doll." Subaru said, which surprised Lucius and the others.
"So fast, you really are the Master Strategist. What is the plan?"
"I'll get you guys up to speed in the coming days as soon as Anastasia and I get all the pieces we need. For the meantime, let us just observe their movements."
Closing his eyes, Lucius then nodded, "Understood."
"Is that all the new information you got for me?"
As soon as Lucius heard this, he immediately shook his head and said, "I'm afraid not, Subaru. This is the reason why we directly approached you, instead of meeting you discretely. We have found new information regarding the next move of the Witch Cult… We do not know why but the Sin Archbishop of Lust has taken an interest in Elsa and Meili…" Lucius said which widened Subaru's eyes in disbelief.
"We came here to collect information and look after your family at a distance." Lucius said as he tried to reassure Subaru that nothing was going to happen to Elsa and Meili.
Was it fate? Was it an inevitability? Whatever it was, Subaru wasn't going to let it end up that way. "She will not get a hand of Elsa and Meili!"
Now knowing the gravity of the situation, Subaru asked of Lucius, knowing his capability as well as his squad, "Lucius, on the day of the mission… I would like for you to watch over Elsa and Meili while I am gone… I know that it is counterintuitive given the numbers of the opposition, but with my plan, we would only need a few people to come along with me… Given what you said about the Witch Cult's next plan, you could understand my reasoning."
After a brief silence from Lucius, he eventually nodded with a smile, "I understand Subaru. I will just keep in touch with Masters Halibel and Zarestia as well, should something go wrong… But I would still like to send a couple of my men from my squad to come and help you and Anastasia on the mission."
"Of course, Of course, that will be no problem at all. Well then, Let's talk about this more as soon as I am free. I got to get back before Elsa starts to look for me." Subaru said with a chuckle as he was glad of Lucius's answer.
As soon as Subaru set off back to the restaurant, a light Cheshire smile could be seen on Lucius's face as he looked back at his men behind him.
"Well then, you now all know your roles for this mission. With that being said, let us not waste the second chance given to us… and finally make Mama proud."
