Prologue – Part 10
The Friday Gathering
May 1st , 2009, Friday
Kawakami Temple
It was a rather invigorating morning. Why is that
Because today was the day that the Kazama Family invited Chris and Mayucchi to their secret hideout, but given my own affiliation with them, I suppose that invitation would extend to me.
But I shouldn't just expect them to instantly invite me just because of my situation, so for now today is just another day. But an exciting one, nonetheless.
Eventually Wanko and I caught up with the others and we all headed for school together.
"Today's the Friday Meeting." Kazama said.
"Yay." Miyako gave a soft cheer.
"We gotta decide what to do over the long weekend." Gakuto brought up.
"Mayu-Mayu, Kri no one's explained to you about the Friday Meetings, right? Although for you Nagamasa, we told you about them the other day." Momoyo said.
"Even so, Wanko take them to see the base after school." Momoyo asked her little sister.
"Aye, aye sir." Kazuko replied as a pirate. "By the way, what does 'aye, aye' stand for anyways?" Kazuko asked.
Oh, Wanko don't change that airheaded nature of yours anytime soon…
Gakuto wanting to act smart, "I'm just the person to ask… Isn't it some kind of primate?"
"You idiot, it's what pirates say when they receive an order from their captain." I answer annoyed at his idiocy.
"Hawawah…" Mayucchi seemed frazzled still.
"What is it Mayucchi?" Chris asked seeing her friend's condition.
"Oh no, it's just I've never received a present from anyone other then my family and relatives before, so… Yamato-san was my first." Mayucchi doesn't seem to understand what beast she has unleashed.
"I can't believe you said that! Gakuto, Naga!" Momoyo orders us as both me and Gakuto hold back an angry Miyako.
"We got her!" I told her as I grabbed Miyako's arm while Gakuto grabbed the other.
"Miyako, calm down." Gakuto ordered her.
"You bitch!" Miyako cursed at Mayucchi.
"Huh? Wah? Bwuh?" Mayucchi was now even more confused and scared then ever.
"You playboy." Moro said to Yamato.
"She was clearly using a figure of speech." Yamato corrected.
Miyako immediately calmed down, "I was pretending to be a new wife who snapped."
"I cannot fathom what would cause such anger." Chris said unable to comprehend Miyako's over-the-top reaction.
I patted Chris on the back, "Of course you wouldn't Chris…" Considering just how many misconceptions this girl falls for and her seeming lack of social skills tells… a lot.
"Oh, Nagamasa-san; good morning." Chris replied with a smile.
"Be careful now Chris, or Nagamasa might take your first." Momoyo said her sly smirk plastered all over her face for me to see. '
Are you trying to kill me?!
"I-I would NEVER do that!" I desperately defended myself from her underlying accusation.
Chris still confused asked, "My first what?"
Momoyo then leaned into Chris's ear and whispered, "Oh, you know…your chastity…"
"N-Nagamasa-san! How could think of doing something so impure!? W-We're not even dating!" Chris replied with a red-faced fury.
"What the hell did I do to deserve this Momoyo?!" I yelled at my senior.
"Because it seemed funny… at your expense." Momoyo confessed.
"She misunderstood the metaphor, but not that?" Moro said shocked.
Wanko still detached from the chaos of the family, "Maybe it'd be good training if I handstand my way to school."
Wanko immediately started doing that, but just as she did her skirt fell exposing her spats to the world as she walked on her hands.
And in my weakness I found myself staring like I did at the riverbank that night. Her toned legs caught my eye.
"See, Chris? He's even got a thing for Kazuko." Momoyo told Chris.
"To not only see me in such a way, but your own classmate as well… Nagamasa, I am ashamed of you!" Chris chided me again.
"What did I do to deserve this?" I said to myself.
And so, we continued on our way to school, while I tried and succeeded miraculously at convincing Chris of Momoyo's jokes and teases as well as telling her how I DON'T have a thing for Wanko she seemed convinced and apologized for her assumptions.
During class…
"That is why Maro-sensei thinks the Heian Period to be the pinnacle of high culture." The history teacher, Maro Ayanokoji was in the middle of one of his Heian Period rants.
"God above just take me now… I can't stand this man…" I thought to myself.
"Maro's curriculum is 90% Heian Period and 10% is the rest of history. Do not forget, yes?" Maro's high pitched voice continued to annoy the class.
Everyone else shared in their own criticism of him.
"This history teacher is teaching at the wrong school…" Miyako said.
"You said it." Yamato agreed.
"Class is in session. Do not chatter." Chris chided the two of them.
"Hey, Wanko don't sleep. I know the training regimen can be tiring but you got to stay up." I tell Wanko.
"Hehe, but I am awake! I may be sleepy sometimes, but I didn't this time! So… pay my head!" Wanko asked to be praised.
I gave my best stern expression as I replied, "That's just common sense. That's not worth praising."
Wanko immediately frowned as she saw my look, "I-I know that… I-I'm sorry…"
"Nagamasa-san is training Wanko. Yamato, what do you think?" Miyako asked him.
"Even without the book he seems to understand the attitude he needs. So it's a passing grade." Yamato replies.
Chris still upset at us talking yells this time, "Again, class is not the time for small talk!" But her loud voice got Maro's attention on her instead.
"Chris, be quiet! You're disrupting the class!" Maro screamed.
"S-Sorry, I apologize." Chris sat down embarrassed.
Yamato decided to add insult to injury, "You have to keep your voice down when telling us to keep our voices down. Heh, heh, heh…"
"Nngh…" Chris's anger at Yamato still seemed prickly to say the least.
"Then Chris, tell me. What was the name of Saigyo's magnum opus?" Maro tested her.
"The Sankashu." Chris answered immediately.
"Oh? Then tell me one of his poems." Maro insisted.
"Even one who claims to no longer have a heart feels this sad beauty – A snape flying from a marsh on an evening in autumn." Chris recited the poem verbatim.
"Ohhhh!" Maro was astounded.
"I love Japan, so I studied very hard." Chris replied.
"Splendid… Yes, just splendid!" Maro was over the moon by this point.
"She knows more about Japan than I do." Gakuto said.
And so after that, lunch came…
And after finishing my own food, what should I do…?
Hang out with the guys?
Talk with Kazuko and the other girls?
Find Momoyo?
Or try and acquaint myself with Class 2-S?
Hmm…. Decisions, decisions…
I think I'd gotten to know the others a good bit and having just met the Class 2-S trio the other day, I still couldn't get over that episode when I met Koyuki.
So I headed out of the classroom and made my way towards Class 2-S only to be greeted by another, "Oh, I believe… you were the commoner that was training with Kazuko-dono at the Tama River are you not?"
"Yes, I'm Azai Nagamasa. I believe your Kuki Hideo?" I asked.
"Aah, so you're familiar with the hero of this city?! Excellent commoner!" Hideo seemed happy I knew his name.
Was it a bad thing, I still had my beliefs of "Down with monopolies!" while in this world? I know Kuki Conglomerate does good things but this guy's so annoying I can't help it.
"But sadly, I am currently preoccupied now for any leisurely chat." Hideo said.
"Well I wasn't necessarily coming to speak with you in particular." I told him.
"I suppose though I can spare a few moments for you. I hope you are moved by Our generosity that it brings you to tears! Mwahaha!" Hideo triumphantly laughed.
Yeah, I have no regrets… Down with monopolies!
Then his bodyguard Azumi Oshitari arrived, "Hideo-sama, shouldn't you mention – "
"Yes, given this commoner's proximity to Kazuko-dono it would be prudent to inform him." Hideo seemed to realize what she was talking about.
"Hmm?" I suppose my confusion was noticeable as Hideo informed me.
"Keep in mind, commoner, that individuals of ill repute have been causing trouble lately in the area of Horinosoto." Hideo told me.
"If you hear of anyone going by the name of the Three Itagaki Sisters, please try to stay away." Azumi kept up her maid-like appearance.
That name I should've remembered! It's those four siblings that are always causing trouble with that former Kawakami Temple master of theirs that taught them martial arts. But I kept my composure, "I see. So it's a dangerous bunch? What kind of activity are they said to be involved in?"
"Yes, sadly it appears that there's been a new dangerous dug that's being passed around the city's seedier parts. So please be careful." Azumi said.
"I ask this of you commoner, as one who trains alongside Kazuko-dono to impart this warning to her. When out running make sure you two do not even tread towards there by mistake. Do you understand?" Hideo asked.
"Well given our usual route only takes us by the Tama River, I don't think there's any immediate danger. But even so, I'll tell her." I reply.
"Hmm, thank you, commoner." And with that Hideo and Azumi left. Leaving me to think about things, I know those lot were the ones always causing issues from the drug trade in Kawakami to in the show being gun runners helping Takae try and overthrow the government.
Hmm?
Friendship with Touma – [5% out of 100]
Friendship with Kokoro – [0% out of 100]
Friendship with Koyuki – [? out of 100]
Friendship with Hideo – [5% out of 100]
Friendship with Azumi – [0% out of 100]
Friendship with Jun – [2% out of 100]
I suppose those make sense… but that Koyuki one… what's that all about?
But the latter case isn't happening Takae isn't an issue here, so it comes to how far will they go? Well for now they only seem to be targeting the seedier side of Kawakami, so I guess it's not really a concern for us.
After that I headed back to class and going through the rest of classes, school was over…
Since there was time before the Friday meeting I decided to head out and enjoy the great weather it was then I saw Yamato outside as well.
"Hey, Yamato feels great out doesn't it?" I wave to him.
"Yeah, I was just going to relax before the Friday gathering. Want to join me?" He asks.
"Sure, after all this training… I just want one moment of peace and quiet." I say stretching.
"There's a place on the riverbank where we can sit back and relax. The sound of the river just lulls you to sleep really." Yamato told me and with that we were off.
As we reached the banks we both laid back and took in the spring weather, eventually we both felt a little drowsy and even then I found myself falling to sleep.
(A little while later…)
"Zzz… Hmm…?" I stirred awake slowly as I opened my eyes. The sun was setting showing it was already the afternoon. I saw Yamato wake up as well
"Yamato, I guess we should head out… Huh?" I say as I see a strange sight before me. "Who're you?" Seeing a blue haired girl sleeping on my chest.
Wait, why do I feel…? I look down and see a shorter orange haired girl sleeping beside me.
"Uh… Nagamasa, who are they?" Yamato saw what I saw as well.
"Zzz… Zzz…" The blue haired one breathed peacefully.
"ZZZZ… ZZzz…" The other one was more like snoring then breathing. That was when both of them stirred awake.
"Hi…" The blue haired one greeted us.
"Mmmnh… Tatsuko… what time is it?" The orange haired one asked sounding annoyed.
"Mmm… I don't know…" The blue one replied, she rubbed her eyes as she replied.
"Ah, man… Onee-san's gonna kill us for being out this late… Why'd you have to go to sleep right here?" The orange haired one's annoyance seemed to increase.
"We'll they looked so peaceful sleeping here. I wanted to join you." The blue one said.
"Man… and I guess I got caught up in it. Ah, well can't lie and didn't say it felt bad!" The orange one seemed to be fully awake now.
"Ahaha, don't you think this place is the best for naps?" The blue one asked us. She patted both of us on the head as if we were old friends somehow.
"Um, okay…?" Yamato was so confused as was I.
"Zzz…" She seemed to start going back to sleep.
"Gyah! Tatsuko! Don't go back, we need to go!" Wait… what?
"Mmm… fine. Let's go Angel…" Tatsuko said.
It was in that moment I just realized how close I was to two of the strongest people currently right now in this town who had the possibility of going up against the Kawakami girls and here they were sleeping peaceful besides us…
Itagaki Angel and Itagaki Tatsuko; the youngest and middle siblings of the family…
There was no chance for me to take on both of them here and now especially with Tatsuko here, so best to let this play out.
But then, Tatsuko woke up as both of us tried to leave, "This place is nice. You wouldn't mind if I slept here sometimes, would you?"
"Uh not really I guess… there's nothing really stopping you." Yamato replied. Then Tatsuko's attention seemed to turn to me as she smiled and got closer to me.
She then said, "You're cute… I like you."
"Guh… Tatsuko! Let's go! Nee-san's gonna kill us if we don't get back before dark!" Angel tried to wrangle her lazy sister.
Tatsuko then went back to sleep once more but woke up again, "I'm sorry, really sorry. I just like to sleep. After my family, it's my favorite thing to do."
"Well even so, no one owns this knoll, so I think it's fine if you sleep here. Just don't get in trouble or anything." I say.
"Then I guess… Aaaah… I'll go back to sleep… Zzz…" And there Tatsuko went…
"Gaaaah! Tatsuko, wake up!" Angel tried once more to get her sister up and that's the cue we needed to give them the slip.
"Oi, don't think I didn't see you! Name's Itagaki Angel and you the one with the sword! I got my eye on you!" Angel screamed back. A chill ran through my body when she said that.
I feel like I have a target painted on my back now…
Eventually we both headed out for the secret base as Yamato guided me to it. Seeing the abandoned apartment was a marvel especially among all the abandoned industrial belt you could see for miles. The natural sunset coloring the sky was truly a peaceful sight for sore eyes.
As we headed inside we saw that everyone besides Kazama was here.
Yamato headed upstairs, as I joined the others in the main room. Miyako was already peacefully reading. While the Kawakami sisters waved my way.
"So you finally made it. Where were you, trainee?" Momoyo asked.
"Haha, got a bit sidetracked. Me and Yamato took a nap and I guess we overdid it slightly." I said.
"Well, you're here. That's all that matters." Kazuko said with a smile.
I saw Chris as well sitting peacefully in one of the sofas, "Oh, hello Chris."
"Nagamasa-san, hello to you too." She greeted me back with a smile.
"Hey, Nagamasa here's all our collections. It has everything from novels, games, and manga too. We just have a policy though that if you borrow one we ask that you replace it with something else." Moro explained to me.
"We even have some game systems too. Mostly just handheld ones like the DS. Do you like it?" Moro asked.
"Heck yeah! Watcha got?" We looked over there collection, but I guess I wasn't in a gaming mood. But looking among the books one caught my eye…
"Bonsai Tree Care for Beginners", you know I always wanted to have some kind of hobby. Something to help take my mind off of things.
Maybe if I asked Tesshin-sensei, maybe he'd give me a bonsai tree to care for or maybe a flower or two to help care. And so I took the book and took a seat in one of the chairs. Doing so I found myself next to Miyako unknowingly.
I looked over and she did as well as we simply nodded and acknowledged each other. But she did have a bit of a smile when she greeted me, so it wasn't all bad.
Sometime must've passed as I was so engrossed in my book Gakuto, Yukie and Yamato had made it back down.
"Oh, seems you got a warm welcome Chris, Nagamasa. Bonsai Trees, eh? Looking to care for one?" Yamato asked me.
"Yeah, something to take my mind off things especially when there's nothing to do." I reply only to feel a pair of legs begin to wrap around my neck.
"You say you'd be bored while a beautiful girl like me is at Kawakami Temple… you deserve death!" Momoyo playfully choked me.
Even as I tried to pry her legs off my neck, everyone couldn't help but laugh sans Miyako and Chris still perplexed by the dynamic of the Kazama family.
Chris was still being given the tour of the place being shown the collection of entertainment they'd collected over the years.
"We've all brought stuff here. You and Nagamasa should add something to Kri. Although we've got plenty of popcorn, more then enough for a lifetime." Momoyo said
Then, the robot of the hour, Cookie made her appearance, "And for a limited time, I'll throw in a show on how I make it!"
"Ah, so Cookie makes popcorn. I see. Thak you for the offer." Chris replied turning her attention to the other shelves, "And this would be the shelf for manga?"
Oh, and if you ever need electricity, Cookie has outlets on her." Gakuto demonstrated, "Like this see? Now it's charging." As he hooked up a DS to the charging cable.
"Haha… Ah, not so sudden! Quit it! You need to use better manners!" Cookie can't help but laugh as it feels ticklish to her.
As the others show her the rest of their base, Chris still seems deep in thought, "Hmm… And?"
Moro seems confused, "Huh?"
"What purpose does this place have?" Chris asked.
Oh no… Her reply made me worry. I knew I couldn't stop the coming storm, but maybe…
"Hm?" Wanko was now confused by Chris's question.
"If you want to have fun, you can do it at home." Chris replied straight. "What's the point of even meeting up here anyway? It seems very counterproductive."
Yamato replies sounding neutral, but I can hear the strain in his voice, "That's enough Chris."
Chris undaunted continues however, "I am simply giving my honest opinion, Naoe Yamato."
That's when I decide to intervene as I stood and walked in front of her, "Chris, it's obvious this place is important to them. Perhaps it's best you ask them why it's important to them before laying judgement on something. Haven't you ever heard of having a space away from everything? People don't just stay cooped up in their rooms, people can get out of their comfort zone, and this is how they do it."
It seems Chris is still unconvinced, "Even so Nagamasa-san I will not change from that. This building should've been torn down years ago."
It was just then I felt an aura of death wash over me from behind as Miyako spoke as she threw her book away, "Hey Chris… go fuck yourself."
Chris taken aback by that comment was dumbfounded, "Ah?"
Miyako's anger only grew, "You don't… You don't have any right to say that!" A look of pure anger crossed over Miyako. I immediately moved to try and restrain Miyako, but Momoyo beat me to it, which left me in between both girls.
"Miyako! Stop!" Yamato immediately tried to calm Miyako.
"You have no clue what this place… what this room means to us!" Miyako let out her venom.
"Huh? What?" Chris was still dumbstruck by the vitriol and anger dripping from the usually calm Miyako.
In this very moment I couldn't help but notice the amount of heavy emotion in the room, the still frames of a visual novel did not do this scene any justice.
I had to tread carefully here otherwise, I knew for a fact Chris, Yuke and I would be outcasts to not only the group but to perhaps out classmates as well.
And doubly for me, I had no idea how this would affect my relationship with Tesshin, and the Kawakami sisters given my current living conditions.
"This is why I didn't want you to join!" Miyako continued to scream at Chris, "You come into our base and tell us it should be torn down?! Who the hell do you think you are!?"
Hearing that first comment hurt. Not just that it was directed at Chris, but by extension I felt like it also was directed at Mayucchi and I as well.
"M-Miyako, slow down, I-I don't understand wh…" But Miyako wouldn't let Chris finish.
"Go away! You're no friend of ou…" But Yamato immediately embraced Miyako trying to calm her down.
"Miyako, calm down." That seemed to help and lowered her volume significantly.
Tch… I couldn't just stand here and not say anything. For the last few moments I'd just watched in silence. Even if it wasn't my place.
[For This Scene Play Growing Mind - Kazuko Theme. I know it's different from the original scene but just trust me. Please?]
"Miyako, I understand your upset, and I do think what Chris was uncalled for and rude. But in just the amount of time we've gotten to know her I think we all know she'd never saw something with hatred or ill intent in her heart." I said as I looked toward Miyako.
"N-Nagamasa…" Chris said nervously.
I knew that Chris deep down was someone who cared deeply for her friends and loved ones. The notion of her ever being meanspirited or putting down people was absurd.
However Miyako was not convinced as her ire was now turned towards me, "Nagamasa! You should leave to! The only ones who spoke up for you were Momoyo and Kazuko…you barely belong here!"
I don't even need to turn around to feel that that sentiment wasn't wrong. I'm sure those two probably spoke up on my behalf to join them because of our time at the temple. And truly… I didn't want that to end.
I wouldn't turn my back on them, sure in many ways these guys were all I had; I wouldn't abandon them, all of them were wonderful people deep down. "And even if you hated me even after this, even if you never wanted me to show my face ever again… don't you think you owe it to at least talk about this? I know right now, even you believe Chris isn't capable of being heartless do you?"
Miyako looked as though she wanted to yell, but couldn't… I think deep down she DID know that Chris wasn't that type of person.
"Chris, do you see now? How important this place is to them? How dearly this place is to them in their hearts?" I now turn to Chris, despite what I said before I know she too needs to be taught a lesson.
"Different people do different things. For these guys this place is special to them, it's their world away from the outside. A place where they can all be together and just be themselves. Can you understand that?" I tell her.
"I-I see…" Chris seems to relent.
"If you do tell me how would you feel if I told you that you should throw your most prized possessions for taking up space?" I decided to test her.
"Aah! My stuffed toys are important… Aaah!" She gets it.
"See? Everyone has something that's important to them, and this place for them is important. Now then… Miyako, Chris… for now can you forgive each other?" I saw looking between the two of them.
Chris has an apologetic look on her face with tears in her eyes; Miyako is the same.
Chris bows deeply to Miyako as she speaks, "Miyako… Everyone… I'm so sorry for my comments. I hope you can forgive me. I want to still be friends and learn about Japan with all of you, if you'll have me."
Miyako is silent at first but then she speaks softly, "Yeah…"
Well that's better than nothing…
[You can stop the music now.]
Then the door opened suddenly, "Yo! Guys, guys, guys, listen up! Guess who just got lucky? This guy! I kept playing that lottery and kept winning all the best prizes!" And just then Kazama had returned from his job, "Plus, I brought some leftover sushi. Though most of its egg so I hope you like that."
Oh my god… Thank you Kazama Shouichi!
"Wait… what's this atmosphere?" Kazama seemed confused. "That's not fair? What's with this awkward adolescent situation that I didn't get a piece of action in!?"
"Look, I'll break it down for you Capt, just relax." And with that Yamato and I explain the situation to him.
"Well… I guess things have already calmed down. And I guess things like this are bound to happen once." Kazama said with a shrug.
"Miyako, take a chill pill, alright?" Kazama said lightly with Miyako in her own little corner.
"…Hmph." Miyako turned and walked away. I guess even with the apology out of everyone here she'll be the hardest to give Chris a second chance.
"We'll leave her to you, Yamato." I say nudging him a bit.
Kazama laughed, "So anyways guys. Anyone else down for getting out of this funk by going on a trip during the long weekend?"
"A trip? Where!?" Wanko was immediately intrigued.
"Yep, there she is!" I commented.
"Well I was going to say something earlier, but…" Kazuko seemed nervous.
"It's fine, Wanko." I say.
"Yeah, thanks Nagamasa. I knew you had it under control." She says.
"Thanks for the vote of confidence, Wanko." I let out a chuckle.
Moro then asks, "What's this trip you mentioned, Capt?"
"Heheh… I won these tickets at the shopping districts lottery. Tada! Tickets for a three day and two-night stay at hotel in Hakone!" Kazama revealed.
"Well that sure is some luck if I've ever seen it." I said considering this is the same guy who survived a beat down from Momoyo of all people and was lucky to have survived.
"Seriously. You must have a guardian spirit watching over you, Capt!" Kazuko says.
"That's enough talking about ghosts, Wanko." Momoyo immediately shuts her sister down further on the topic.
Holy shit! I completely forgot that! Momoyo has a fear of the supernatural. To think the Goddess of Martial Arts is scared of someone throwing a white sheet over there body.
I bet this girl couldn't survive one episode of Scooby-Doo… That'd be the day.
"More importantly, a two-night getaway? I'd be down for it. Especially since it's free." Momoyo says with a smile.
"You're just happy you don't have to make a down payment on it." I chastise her.
"Is that so bad?" She replied easily.
"And there's your lack of shame." I comment.
"When's the trip?" Yamato asks.
"The third, the fourth and the fifth. So we'll prepare tomorrow and head out the say after by train." Kazama tells us.
"Nagamasa, we can run in the Hakone mountains! It'd be perfect for our training!" Wanko said excitedly.
"Yay…" I say half-heartedly .
And so for the rest of the night we enjoy the sushi leftovers that Kazama brought and enjoy our first time at the Kazama Family secret base.
And now that I've had the chance to enjoy this feeling… I can say without a shadow of a doubt…
I love it here.
Eventually we were regaled about the story of the picture of the group as children and the story of the Agave Plant they watched over during a big storm.
Seeing it was quite an experience. Seeing all of them s young and full of energy… really makes you think.
Afterwards the Friday gathering was over, and the sisters and I once again headed back to the temple just as I was about to head for bed it was then I felt a pair of arms wrap around my neck. The strength behind them could only be one person.
"E-Eh? M-Momo-senpai?" I say.
"Shhhh… don't say anything." I hear her whisper in my ear. "What you did today was something I couldn't ever thank you enough for." She thanked me.
"You didn't even have to say anything. It didn't have anything to do with you and yet you stuck your nose out for your friends. Even though it could mean you'd be an outcast even here. Thank you… for saving your family." She said in my ear.
"Yeah…" I replied with a smile.
"Ah, Nee-san, Nagamasa…" I heard Kazuko's voice now.
"Kazuko? W-why is my room becoming a party again?" I ask worried for what could happen like last time.
"Well… I wanted to thank you for helping Chris and Miyako make up today. What you did was awesome! So… thank you!" Kazuko said jumping in to our group hug.
Three of us couldn't help but laugh as we talked a bit for the rest of the night enjoying ourselves. Still hungry apparently, I gave them some leftover rice balls I had.
"You know what? ~ I think we should have a sleepover! ~" Momoyo said.
"Eh?" I mumbled.
"Yeah, yeah! Party in Nagamasa's room! ~" Kazuko joined her sister in the idea.
"Why me?" I mumbled again. Outnumbered 2 to 1, I relented and let the sisters sleep in my room and so for the rest of the night they regaled me with stories from when they were young, and I shared some stories from my life back in the real world.
From the Kazama Family… to the Kawakami Family…
I finally feel like I belong here.
