"Is this the place?" Sirius asked as he and Matt apparated into the muggle neighbourhood.

"Mhmm," the man responded before pointing towards the house a few blocks from them, "and that's her house."

Sirius looked at it for a moment before reaching into his pocket and taking out his communication mirror. He then swiped his finger on it and a second later Amelia's face appeared in it. "Are we good on the locator?" he asked.

"You are," she responded. "The auror team is on standby. Stick to the plan."

"I know," Sirius said before putting the mirror in his breast pocket without cutting the call so Amelia and the others could still hear them. That way if anything went wrong then she could immediately dispatch the aurors she had on call for this task. Also, both Sirius and Matt were being tracked using the locator. Matt had his ring while Ann had made a trace for Sirius in the form of a bracelet.

The monitoring team was at Potter manor, consisting of Amelia and Ann. The aurors were stationed outside the muggle neighbourhood so they could reach Matt and Sirius at a moment's notice.

"Alright then, let's do this," Sirius said as he looked at Matt.

The man nodded before taking the lead, as he was the only one who could sense the wards more quickly amongst the two. They took slow, measured steps as they headed towards the house of Bonnie Cohen. The sun had set and with only a handful of people living in the area, no one was out on the streets, which caused the place to be enveloped by an eerie silence.

Apart from having a team of aurors as backup, Matt and Sirius also had rune-powered portkeys tied to the wards of Potter Manor. The runes supplied the portkeys with extra magical reserve so they could work even under normal to mid-strength anti-apparition wards. It was just a safety precaution that the two had taken despite knowing that if the ward around Bonnie's house was what Matt had sensed, that it would render the portkeys useless. But it was better to have something at hand than nothing at all.

As they reached near the fence Sirius looked at Matt. "Well, do you sense anything?" he asked.

Matt had the look of confusion on his face as he narrowed his eyes. "I don't," he said.

"Are you sure?" asked Sirius.

"One hundred percent," Matt said. "This is where I had sensed the wards last time, when I was here with Ann." He then carefully took another step, bringing him closer to the fence. Sirius extended his hand to try and stop him but Matt signalled him not to. He then stood there for a few seconds before turning to look at the black haired man. "I can't sense it," he said.

"Does that mean it's been removed?" asked Sirius.

However, before Matt could answer they heard the front door open and out walked Bonnie Cohen, with a flashlight aiming right at their faces. The men had to squint their eyes because of the bright light and on instinct Sirius reached for his wand just before Matt stopped him. Luckily the woman didn't see Sirius' movement as Matt took a step forward and smiled slightly. "Is this the Barnaby's residence?" he asked.

"No, it's not," Bonnie said before her eyes widened a little. "Wait a minute. I remember you," she said. "You were here a few days ago with another woman looking for someone else. Who are you?"

"I'm afraid you're mistaking me with someone else," Matt said trying to sound as normal as possible. However, Sirius had seen the woman's movement and immediately fired a knockout spell. It hit her square on the face before she dropped on the floor unconscious. Matt looked at him in utter shock with his mouth hung open. "Why did you do that?" he asked, almost shouting.

"She was going to close the door," Sirius said. "It's likely that she would've then called the police and that would mean trouble for us." Matt looked like he wasn't buying Sirius' explanation who then sighed. "Fine, if you want to blame someone, blame my ex-auror instincts. I saw her move and I fired my spell."

"You're unbelievable," Matt said shaking his head before he looked at Bonnie lying on the floor by the doorway. "What do we do now?"

"What we came here to do," said Sirius. "First of all, do you sense any wards? Are we inside one?"

Matt took a second to focus before shaking his head. "It's gone. It's not here," he said.

"Not any kind of ward?" asked Sirius. Matt shook his head again.

"If the ward which Ann and I had sensed that day was here then crossing it would've probably sent us to whatever place it had before," Matt said. "That didn't happen right now. Secondly, there is no ward around the place whatsoever. It's just a muggle home."

"If you say so," Sirius said before moving ahead and heading for the door.

"What are you doing?" asked Matt.

"Checking the place," Sirius said casually. "We are here. We might as well take a look around; see if we can find something out of the ordinary in a muggle home."

Matt sighed before shaking his head. "Fine, but let's put her inside first," he said looking at an unconscious Bonnie. So the two floated her inside the house and put her in the bedroom.

"Merlin, the resemblance is uncanny," Sirius said talking about Bonnie's resemblance to Daphne. "She also looks a bit like Ann. Are you sure those two aren't related?"

"They aren't," Matt said. "This is why Ann called us extremely lucky and the whole incident a major coincidence, if nothing else. We were desperate for a baby and then one day we just found Daphne like that, being dropped in front of a church. Sure, at that time she was way too young for us to compare her resemblance to anyone but she got her blond hair from her birth mother. And about Bonnie's resemblance with Ann, well, that's the coincident bit. It allowed Daphne to look a little bit like Ann, which only helped our story of Daphne being a Greengrass."

"Well, whatever happened, happened," Sirius said. "I'm happy for you two and Bonnie...if doing that made her feel even the slightest bit of relief or happiness."

"I would still want her to meet Daphne someday though," Matt said. "She is her birth mother after all. She should see how great her daughter turned out to be."

While Sirius and Matt were at Bonnie's, Harry and Remus had gone to Gringotts to look for Lily's supposed notebook. It was still a hunch but both Remus and Sirius had confirmed that she, in fact, kept a record of any new spell or potion that she was working on. Harry couldn't help but feel proud when he heard how many spells and potions his mother had invented. Lily had never gone public with those though which is why no one knew about them. She was a prodigy in potions and charms.

Getting off of the cart Harry and Remus came up to the Potter family vault where he slowly put his hand on the blood seal to open the entrance. Once the gate opened he turned to look at the werewolf. "I want you to come inside with me," Harry said.

"But it's your family vault," Remus said.

"I need help finding my mother's notes," Harry responded, "and I don't know what they look like. But you probably will recognise them, if they are here."

Remus finally agreed and the two stepped into the vault. The place was huge and filled with lots of stuff apart from gold, silver and copper currencies. Finding a book or rather set of books would take quite a bit of time.

"So, where do you want to start?" asked Remus.

"I'll take the left end and you take the right," Harry said.

Remus nodded before the two began looking for Lily's notes. Harry tried not to get distracted by all the things that were in there and while he wasn't that interested in the gold and jewellery that filled most of the vault's space, he was curious when he found a stack of portraits of what he could guess were his ancestors from his father's side of the family.

He asked Remus about them and he confirmed Harry's guess, although he did mention that unlike the portraits that were in Hogwarts and most magical homes, these couldn't talk as they were far too old and their magic had run out.

Harry knew that portraits could only talk as long as they were powered by magic. The ones in Hogwarts were powered using the castle's wards as he had learned in his first year.

"This is going to take a while," Remus said. Harry only hummed in response as they continued looking for Lily's notes. About twenty minutes later Remus found something and called Harry to look at it.

"Did you find it?" he asked.

"I think so," Remus said as he opened the old notebook. "Yeah...this her handwriting," he said.

The two looked at it a little closely. The notebook's cover was worn out and its pages had yellowed over time. It confused them why Lily hadn't put any preservation charm on the thing if this was so important. When they opened the notebook they found what Remus would describe anything unlike Lily.

Everything was scribbled carelessly. It was almost unreadable. There were also notes written in the runic language which went over Harry's head. Considering that the notebook was over an inch thick with almost all of its pages filled with scribbled notes, Harry and Remus decided it would be better to look at it properly once they were back home.

Harry couldn't wait to find out if the notes had anything related to the blood protection that his mother had put on him.
