As the elevator doors opened all they could see was white, everywhere, the floors, the fireplaces, the check-in desks, the fountain, every inch of the place was white with snow and more snow was still falling.
Laughing, Jack leaned against the side of the elevator for support, not expecting the snow fairies to go this mad with the job he asked them to do.
"What? What's happening?" Fudge asked looking up at the clouds and moving out into the snow a little. "Where did those clouds come from? Why is nobody dealing with them?!"
"We've tried sir," Robinson said trying to ignore Jack's laughs "But every time we try to blast them away, it just makes them snow even harder; Why do you think there's so much of it here?"
"Well then find some other way to get rid of them," Fudge said panicking a little.
"Maybe..." Jack said calming down and getting their attention "This is a sign to show all of you, you were wrong about Sirius Black?"
This got a few confused looks from everyone.
"Lady Longbottom just said it will snow at the Ministry before anyone with a high seat there admits they were ever wrong on something," Jack said smiling "And oh look... snow."
"He has a point sir," Tonks said nervously her hair turning a hint of purple.
"But... But..." Fudge said fiddling with his fedora as he looked from Malfoy to Crouch to the snow, to the clouds, and back to Jack.
"Come on sir, just admit you were wrong about something and see what happens." Jack said smiling.
Everyone stayed quiet, no one wanting to say anything.
"Come on, it's not that hard here, I'll show you." Jack said moving out into the open space. "I admit to being wrong about... I can use my magic to fight against Mother Nature and the things she throws at me."
Everyone waited and watched surprised when the clouds stopped snowing.
Smiling Jack held out his hand for someone else to try.
Slowly Tonks came forward.
Standing next to Jack she took a deep breath and said: "I admit to being wrong about how great the Ministry of Magic is! There I said it!" she said pointing to the high ranking people who were gathered there, before high-fiving Jack, her hair now a bright yellow to show she was happy.
Again the clouds shrank down a little more causing chatter between everyone there, some coming forth and stating things they were wrong about just to make the clouds (and hopefully the snow) to go away.
It took about half an hour before everyone who wanted to say something had said something. However there was a thin lining of clouds still in the air.
"Who else has to say they were wrong about something?" Fudge asked looking around at everyone who were all shaking their heads and saying they had their turn.
"Maybe," Jack said calmly who was in the middle of making snow-ministers and other workers "It's whoever it was that sent Sirius Black to prison. You know, just a suggestion." he said shrugging as he stuck a carrot into the nose of the one he just made.
At this almost everyone turned to Mr Crouch who looked like he wanted to harm Jack. First for even insisting he was wrong about something in the first place, and second for making a fool out of him by drawing attention to him while it was snowing in his Ministry – Fudge might be the Minister, but he was the one in charge.
"Come on Barty, you saw Black be given the Veritaserum. You watched as Moody questioned him and he explained what happened. Just admit you were wrong so we can get to work cleaning up all this snow." Amos Diggory said loudly where he himself was making a snow fort with Tonks and some of the younger staff members.
There was nods and words of agreement at this, mostly from those who were shivering.
"Fine. I was... I was wrong about Black." he said as if it was hard to do.
At that the last of the clouds went away, as did any of the snow that was not made into a snowman or a fort.
"With that sorted," Amelia said smiling "Shall we go back to the Trial Room and discuss how much money we need to give Sirius as way of apology for sending him to Azkaban for 12 years, Mr Crouch? Mr Fudge?" she asked before turning back towards the elevator.
One by one everyone who was in the court room, Hagrid and Newt went back into the elevator until the doors closed, leaving only Jack, Bunny, and Mr Malfoy in the lobby.
"I don't know what you did boy," Malfoy said glaring at Jack "But you will regret making a mockery of Ministry."
"Sir, I was in the court room just as long as you and everyone else was," Jack said looking as innocent as he could while trying not to laugh. "What could I possibly have done? Asked a group of snow fairies to come and do this to make you big-shot wizards admit to incorrect choices you made in the past? How could I? I'm just a kid."
Giving one last long glare at Jack, Malfoy turned and left, nearly slipping on a patch of ice that magically appeared below his feet.
Once the mean human was gone, Periwinkle, Sugar and Kelly came out of their hiding places and asked Jack if they did a good job.
"Yeah you do mío bueno work girls. (Yes you did a great job ladies)" Jack said holding out his hands so they could land and rest their wings.
With all of these events over, Bunny was about to suggest they go get some food, when the elevator dinged and out came Hagrid, Newt, Lady Longbottom and a beaming Sirius Black.
"You're free then I take it?" Jack asked smiling.
"You bet I am," Sirius said happily. "They said that the 12 years improper imprisonment is more than enough for payment on being an unregistered Animagus, so I just need to sign up to say I am one so I don't get in trouble again, and then I need to stop by the treasury to receive the bag of apology money and we can leave."
"Now wait just a moment, boy," Lady Longbottom said grabbing his shoulder. "You also need to be seen by the medics to check how you are fairing after being around those fowl beasts for over a decade."
"Yes Augusta," Sirius said frowning a little as they went to the registry desk together.
"We'll head out and meet at a muggle food joint then" Bunny said heading for the exit and hopefully some warmth.
Smiling Jack allowed the snow fairies to rest in his jacket's pockets as he and the others followed him.
Now all that was needed to do was hunt down the rat and prepare Harry into meeting Sirius.
