After relaxing on the beaches of Porta Vista, the gang decided it was time to catch a boat to the mainland. But they had to wait for a boat to arrive.
While they waited for a boat Ash swapped his Squirtle, Charmander and Espeon for three of his Eevees. Since he had an Espeon, he thought that he would evolve them to. He released the Eevees from their Poke Balls and placed the Fire Stone, Water Stone and Thunder Stone in front of them.
"Are you ready to evolve?" He asked the Eevees. "If you don't want to, I won't force you to."
But the Eevees did want to evolve. One touched the Thunder Stone, another touched the Fire Stone and the third touched the Water Stone. Soon Ash had a Jolteon, Vaporeon and Flareon.
Ash was feeling happy after receiving his new Pokemon.
"And pretty soon I'll have another new Pokemon." He said.
He was holding the blue egg from the S.S Anne in his arms. When the gang had their Pokemon healed at the Pokemon Center, Ash offered to take the egg.
"What do you think it will hatch into?" Misty asked.
"I don't know." Ash answered. "I just want it to be nice and healthy. Did you sort out your Pokemon too Misty?"
"Yes I did." Misty said. Misty sent her Gyarados to the Cerulean Gym and brought back her Oddish.
"My sisters said that my new Pokemon have made their shows more popular. At least they're happy."
"I sent my Growlithe and Sandslash back to my family." Brock said. "And get this. My mom says that my brothers and sisters played with Growlithe right away."
"Well they do say that Growlithe make good pets for humans." Misty said. Brock agreed.
Just then Pikachu noticed something floating in the ocean. A little sea horse was paddling in the ocean and it looked like it was in pain. Next to it were two jellyfish with red jewels on their bodies and they were in pain as well. Misty squealed.
"It's a Horsea and two Tentacool."
Ash looked at them on the Pokedex.
"Horsea, the Dragon Pokemon. Known to shoot down flying bugs with precision blasts of ink from the surface of the water."
"Tentacool, the Jellyfish Pokemon. Drifts in shallow seas. Anglers who hook them by accident after often punished by it's stinging acid."
"I love Tentacool." Misty sighed. "They are so adorable."
"Misty really loves water type Pokemon." Ash whispered to Brock.
Brock nodded his head in agreement.
"I'm going to catch them." Misty said.
She was about to throw some Poke Balls at them, but Brock stopped her.
"Wait Misty." He said. "They look like they've been injured."
"You're right." Misty nodded. "It looks like they were involved in a fight. What happened?"
Ash then saw something in the distance.
"Look there." He gasped. "That boat is under attack."
It was a boat carrying workmen. Suddenly the boat sank and the workmen fell into the sea. Misty released all her water type Pokemon and Ash converted into his dragon form to get them out of there. The workmen thanked Ash and Misty and were about to tell them what just happened when an old woman appeared out of nowhere.
"My name's Nastina." The old woman introduced herself.
"Thanks for your help." Nastina told Ash, Brock and Misty.
"Those damn Tentacool are ruining my plans again." She shouted.
"I'm trying to construct a hotel and theme park out in the ocean." Nastina explained. "But thanks to those disgusting Tentacool, my plans are falling through. Since you three are trainers, would you mind getting rid of those Tentacool?"
"Not gonna happen." Ash growled in anger.
The gang turned down Nastina's offer.
"How dare she think the Tentacool disgusting." Misty stated in fury.
They then left a few minutes later.
Ash, Misty and Brock stared out at the ocean.
"I have something on my mind." Ash said.
"What is it?" Misty asked.
"It's concerning the Tentacool." Ash replied. "What if Nastina's hotel and theme park is being constructed on their habitat."
"That makes sense." Brock said. "Wild Pokemon are said to attack humans if their territory is threatened."
"So Nastina's at fault, not the Tentacool." Misty said.
Pikachu saw the Horsea and two Tentacool again. Misty walked over to the Tentacool.
"Tentacool I need to know something." She said. "Is that construction site your habitat."
The Tentacool nodded.
"You're right Ash." Misty said. "Nastina is ruining the ocean. We need to stop her."
Trouble soon reared it's ugly head. Nastina would stop at nothing to get rid of the Tentacool and she asked everyone in Porta Vista to get rid of them for her. She even said they would be rewarded a lot of money if they did. The bad news was that everyone accepted the offer.
"What are we going to do?" Ash asked. "Nastina's desperate to get rid of the Tentacool."
There was even more bad news. Jessie, James and Meowth were in the area. They wanted the reward money and agreed to go after the Tentacool. They were now on the ocean, in a row boat carrying a tub of what they called 'Super Stun Sauce'.
"So what is this stuff going to do?" James asked.
"Simple James." Jessie said. "This will paralyze the Tentacool."
"And once that's done." Meowth continued. "We can capture the jellyfish and present them to the boss."
"Ah I've got it." James exclaimed. "This is a great plan."
Unfortunately, Team Rocket's plan hit a snag. When they poured the sauce into the ocean, one of the angry Tentacool touched it and evolved into Tentacruel. But this Tentacruel was ten times larger than normal. When the gang saw the giant Tentacruel, they were horrified.
Ash looked Tentacruel up on the Pokedex.
"Tentacruel, the Jellyfish Pokemon and the evolved form of Tentacool. The tentacles are normally kept short. On hunts, they are extended to ensnare and immobilize prey."
"This isn't good." Brock said. "That giant Tentacruel is angrier than all the Tentacool combined."
The Tentacruel began to attack the city with it's giant tentacles and the Tentacool helped him. Then Tentacruel grabbed Meowth and spoke to the humans through him like a puppet.
"Humans." The giant Tentacruel said. "You destroyed our home and now we will destroy yours."
"So the hotel is being built on the Tentacool's habitat." Brock said.
"We need to stop them." Misty said. "Who knows what else they will do."
The Horsea and two Tentacool tried to reason with Tentacruel, but it wouldn't listen.
"It's no use Horsea and Tentacool." It said. "Humans are not trustworthy and should be destroyed."
First the Tentacool and Tentacruel destroyed Nastina's hotel and theme park, and then resumed attacking the city.
"I'll keep Tentacruel busy while you get to the roof of that building." Ash told Misty.
"Got it." Misty nodded.
Ash's body was covered in fire replaced by his dragon form.
"Rrarh!" He roared and slammed into Tentacruel to stop it's attack.
Misty bravely stepped up on top of a building and spoke to the Tentacruel through a microphone.
"Tentacruel." She said. "I understand that you are angry because of what the humans did to your home. And now that we realize what we did, we promise you that this will not happen again and we will leave your home alone."
Tentacruel hesitated at first, not sure whether to trust Misty or not.
"Return to the ocean." Tentacruel commanded.
"We will let you go just this once." It said. "But if you do attack our home again, we will not be forgiving next time."
Then it swatted Meowth and Team Rocket away before returning to the ocean.
Nastina was still mad at Tentacool and Tentacruel and wanted to get rid of them. Tentacruel swatted her away as well.
"Good riddance." Brock said.
"Serves her right." Ash in his dragon form muttered.
The ocean was no longer going to be disturbed and the residents of Porta Vista agreed to never construct a building in the ocean again. Because they all knew that the water type Pokemon living in the ocean will fight back.
After Tentacool and Tentacruel left, Ash, Misty and Brock finally got a boat to the mainland.
"Hey Misty." Ash said. "Did you catch any Tentacool?"
"Yes I did." Misty nodded. "You remember the Horsea and two Tentacool we saw? Well I caught them and they are now at the Cerulean gym."
"I bet your sisters will be thrilled that you have new Pokemon for them to use."
"They sure will." Misty replied.
Ash, Brock and Misty continued their journey.
