Chapter 41
Due to being too stiff Epel was ordered to take ballet solo lessons. Deuce volunteered fro the class as well and Odette offered to be help Vil with the class.
"I'm the manager and it's my job to help you with everything." Odette stated.
"Fine." Vil sighed.
The next morning before all the others woke up Vil brought Epel, Deuce and Odette into the ballroom. He was teaching them ballet.
"I would like to start with the basics and by the end of the week your turns should improve. We'll stop when your turns meet my expectations." Vil informed them.
"Yes Vil." Epel sighed.
The extra lesson was only thirty minutes long but Vil got all the basics across.
Once the lesson was over Vil went back to the dorm to get the others leaving the three 'spuds' alone together.
"I just don't get it. It's so girly." Epel grumbled as he sipped his water.
"I don't think so. You said you want to be strong. Ballerinas have to lift each other so I don't think they're as girly as you think." Odette explained sipping her own water as he convinced Vil to let her precipitated
"Really?" Deuce asked looking a bit shocked.
"Yeah, let me show you." Odette said pulling her phone out to show them. She showed them a few clips of different kind of lifts.
"Wow they're acting out a battle." Deuce gasped.
"Okay, that does look kinda cool." Epel admitted.
"Yeah, that might the best part. I wish we could work it in to the practice or the routine, but Vil would never allow it." Deuce agreed.
"He doesn't have to know. When could lift Odette." Epel grinned wickedly.
"Epel!" Deuce gasped.
"You won't drop me will you?" Odette asked looking uncertain.
"No I won't. Come on let's give it a try." Epel encouraged.
"Alright but just this easy lift" Odette sighed as she pulled up a simple lift.
She would already be jumping and he would pick her up by the waist then caught her. A toss and fish move.
She began to jump and Epel reached for her but Epel wasn't strong enough and he did dropped Odette. The fall to the floor knocked her unconscious.
Odette didn't escape the tongue lashing, once she woke up in the nurse office a few hours later. She looked over and saw Vil sitting next to her bed.
"Before you begin is Epel okay?" She sighed.
Vil glanced up from his text book and nodded.
"Okay, good now can I asked you keep it too a dull roar please? I still have a massive headache." She groaned.
"You deserve every word. What were you thinking? You seem to a good head on your shoulders how could you agree to that stunt?" Vil chided as he put down his text book.
"I thought it would improve his confidence and get him into ballet. I thought if he was interested he might like it better." Odette confessed.
Vil looked a bit surprised. "The nurse said it would be best to keep you here until the next morning, once you're released come straight back to the Pomefiore dorm." He then got up and left her alone.
She had many visitors throughout the day.
"I'm sorry I dropped you." Epel apologized. The team came to visit during lunch.
"I shouldn't have pressured you guys." Deuce said.
"It's fine. I'm not too banged up. Everyone is just over reacting. I'll be back to being the manager tomorrow morning." Odette explained.
"You're an idiot." Ace sighed.
"Here I brought you your schoolwork for the day." Jamil said handing the papers.
"And I brought you some snacks." Kalim said handing a bag from Sam's store.
"They're not poisoned or cursed." Grim cheered.
"Thanks guys." She said taking the bag.
She had other visits including Riddle and Trey. Jack stopped by. Even the Octa-trio. Towards dinner even Silver came by.
"Oh, I wasn't excepting you." Odette cheered as she put her homework down.
"Why not? I said we were friends remember." Silver smiled as he handed her a small bag of freshly picked chestnuts.
"That is true. I'm sorry. I didn't think my injuries were a big deal neither but so many people have come to check on me." Odette said as he sat in the chair beside her bed.
"I think you're underestimate your popularity." Silver chuckled.
"I guess so. I honestly thought my popularity with your dorm had gone down." Odette confessed as she opened the bag and offered him a nut.
"Why would you say that?" Silver asked as he took one.
"Just a feeling I've been getting." Odette muttered as she popped one into her mouth.
"That's a vague explanation." Silver pointed out.
"I just feel like I'm telling on him and I don't want him thinking that I am." She said.
"He who? Maybe I can give you some insight." He offered.
"Lilia." She sighed.
"Fa-Lilia? I don't think he would think that. So why do you think your popularity with him has gone down?" He asked as she gave him another chestnut.
"Let's just say I told him I liked him just not with words." She confessed as she blushed looking down at her lap.
"What exactly are you saying? Silver asked raising an eyebrow.
"I'm not one to kiss and tell, usually." Odette muttered.
"You kissed him!?" Silver exclaimed.
"Sh!" She hushed. "Yes, he kissed him back but when I've seen him since he hasn't seemed the same so I thought I crossed a line. I haven't gotten to see him much and now I'm wrapped up in this VDC thing so I don't know if I can repair this in a timely manner. With everything going on I might have to cancel our tea time." She said as she began to ramble trying not to cry.
Silver placed his hand on top of her head. "It's okay to cry. I didn't mean for my visit to upset you like this."
"It's okay. I guess I needed to vent to someone." Odette sniffled. "Even as just the manager the VDC as taken over my life too."
"Well, this is what friends are for." Silver smiled at her.
"Thanks Silver." Odette smiled back.
"I'll talk to fa-Lilia for you if you want." He offered.
"If you don't mind. I hope it doesn't back fire through." She sighed.
"I don't think it will. You were invited to the birthday party next week and I don't think anyone wants it be awkward." Silver assured her.
"Thank you for reminding me. It did slip my mind." Odette said.
"You've had a lot on it lately. No one in my dorm would hold it against I think. Plenty of us are forgetful." He explained.
"I don't know what to get Tsunataro, any suggestions?" She asked as she stifled a yawn.
"He loves ice cream." Silver informed her as he got up from the chair. "It's getting late. I should let you get some rest."
"Ice cream? I can do that. Thank you for everything Silver." Odette yawned.
"You're welcome. Good night Odette." Silver smiled down at her.
"Good night Silver." She smiled back at him as she laid down.
'Mh, this does make things a bit complicated.' He thought with a sigh as he headed back to his dorm to talk to his father.
Wow I can't believe this story has made it this far. I didn't plan on it getting this long. So thanks to everyone for sticking around. Original I planned on reworking Midnight Swim into this story at this point but it just didn't work out since Lilia is now keeping his distant. But I got this cute scene with Silver instead so I'm happy with it.
I hope you enjoyed this chapter and the story so far. This was a fun chapter for me to write.
I want to keep my readers on their toes. Who will Odette end up with? Lilia? Silver? Malleus? Sebek? Sorry if drama is not your thing but I don't think there's too much drama. Just enough to keep the story going.
See ya next time.
I promise next time it won't be such a big gap between Diasomnia appearances.
