The next morning Jacob wakes up in bed with all the girls around him, he smiles he's happier than ever seeing all of them with him. He decides he's gonna do something nice for them. He leaves quietly making sure to not wake any of them up. The town is small but has enough for his plan. He heads to the weapon shop to find Inki a new weapon, noticing that the fight against Hazel damaged her mace. He sees a kanabo and decides it fits her motif of a large club with spikes, and buys it. He also purchases an elf bow for Sylvie. His next stop was a magic shop to buy a magic staff for Phoebe. He remembered a quiet conversation they had where she said a staff could amplify her magic power and focus it in combat. He finds an ironwood staff with blue crystals studded in it, and purchases it. Continuing on took him to a blacksmith to purchase gauntlets for Roxy who has always used her animalistic body to fight. His final stop took him to a jeweler where he purchased each girl their own necklace. For Phoebe he bought her a silver necklace with a sapphire on it. For Sylvie a gold necklace with an emerald. For Roxy a gold necklace with amethyst. And for Inki he got her a silver necklace with ruby.
He quickly returned back to the inn and luckily the girls were still asleep, he put each of their gifts in their own spots with a tag on it distinguishing who's was where. After leaving them their presents he leaves, deciding to go to the guildhall and pick a job for them to make the money he just spent.
Not long after Jacob left, Phoebe woke up and while rubbing her eyes she noticed the presents left behind.
Phoebe: Girls, girls wake up.
Slowly the girls all stirred awake and once their vision came to them and they all saw that they had been gifted a present by the man they all love. They each open their big presents.
Inki: Wow, I love it. I've always wanted a kanabo.
Sylvie: This bow is beautiful, and it's elven made.
Roxy: These gauntlets feel light but are sturdy enough to break a mountain.
Phoebe: This staff is made out of ironwood and will make doing magic so much more precise.
Roxy: Hey there's other presents here.
They see on the counter four boxes one for each, and when they open their boxes their eyes tear up.
Roxy: He bought us all our own necklaces.
Phoebe: They're beautiful.
Sylvie: Let's help each other and put them on.
As the girls help each other Inki is stuck staring at hers, she can't believe that Jacob went and bought her stuff so soon after accepting her. She can't help but tear up at the love she feels in her heart for Jacob. Phoebe puts her hand out.
Phoebe: Let me help you put it on.
Inki hands her the necklace and turns around so Phoebe can put it on her. Once it's on she can't help but stare at it, and smile.
They head to the guildhall to meet Jacob only to see him bruised.
Jacob: Hey girls.
Sylvie: What happened?
Jacob: Nothing much.
Inki: My foot, why are you bruised like that?
Jacob: Ah this, it's nothing.
Roxy: Was it that team?
Jacob: It's nothing girls, I promise.
Phoebe: Dear, please don't hide this, did you fight them.
Jacob: No, I actually didn't fight back.
Sylvie: So they attacked you.
Roxy: Why wouldn't you fight back.
Jacob: Cause they aren't worth it. Let them hate me all they want, as long as I can protect you it's fine.
Inki: I'm gonna go show them pain.
Sylvie: I'm going too, what about you two?
Phoebe and Rox nod in agreement and start to walk away.
Jacob: THAT'S ENOUGH!
The girls look at him surprised he yelled at them.
Jacob: Picking a fight solves nothing, we will be fighting them nonstop if we retaliate. I'm making the call that we focus on doing missions, gaining levels and be on our way okay.
Frustrated, the girls choose to agree with him. He pulls a request out of his pocket, it says "Ghouls invading local farmland, request to destroy all 100 ghouls".
Phoebe: 100 ghouls, don't you think that's a little excessive? I mean we just got A rank.
Jacob: I'm in a bad mood and wanna take it out on something.
Phoebe: Haha, Okay but can you leave us some targets. You did buy us these new weapons.
Jacob: I'll do my best.
The group walks up to the counter and registers to accept the quest. Just then Atle and his group walk in.
Victor: Well if it isn't the trash.
Atle: What quest are they taking?
Ryder: The ghoul quest.
Lymo: You sure they can handle that. Their fearless leader couldn't handle the beating he got earlier.
In an instant the girls point their weapons at the men making fun of their boyfriend.
Victor: Now the girls want some action. We could take this to the bedroom and get real physical.
Phoebe: Big words from such a small man.
Victor: SMALL!
The groups point their weapons at each other ready to fight until Ryder had to step in between them.
Ryder: Fighting in the hall will not be tolerated.
Jacob: Let's go girls, we got work to do.
Jacob and his group leave the hall and head for their quest.
Atle: Shame such beautiful women will die following a fool, you could've had a perfect life had you agreed to join us.
Inki: I'd die 1 time for each ghoul on this quest before ever accepting anything you weak men have.
Victor: Keep telling yourself that sweetheart, we'll mourn you.
The group leaves following Jacob closely, their blood is boiling and now they want to hit something.
Jacob: Well I guess we'll split the ghouls evenly when we get there that way we all can get our frustrations out.
They travel for 3 hours to the field where the ghouls are wandering, killing livestock left and right. Without saying a word the group jumps into battle. Roxy punches a ghoul so hard it's body explodes, it surprises her because the force of her punch wasn't much more powerful than her regular ones.
Roxy: Wow, this gauntlet packs a punch. Thank you Jake I love them.
Jacob: I'm glad.
Roxy continues her onslaught against the ghouls quickly reaching her 20 ghouls. Phoebe uses a fire spell with her staff causing the gems to glow bright. Her attack is so powerful that all 20 of her ghouls are disintegrated leaving no bones.
Phoebe: Incredible, this staff is just so amazing.
She jumps up and down from excitement hugging the staff close.
Sylvie uses a powerful holy arrow attack that pierces the 20 ghouls at once.
Sylvie: It feels like I'm pulling the string effortlessly and the power when I release is so strong.
In the middle of the field Inki is swinging her kanabo with such force she rips through multiple ghouls at once, she quickly kills her 20 ghouls and admires the carnage.
Inki: This weapon is like it was made for me and it feels good connecting with some skulls.
Jacob: Alright now that's scary. It's time to finish this. KAMEHAMEHAAAA.
Jacob fires an intense blue blast that envelopes all the ghouls and blasts all the way into the atmosphere and disappears from sight.
Inki: What was that?!
Phoebe: Is that one of those earth shattering blasts you told us about when we fought the chimera?
Jacob: Yeah, that one was more powerful than the one the chimera got hit with though.
Sylvie: The power you could feel from that attack could've been felt all the way back to my home village.
Inki: I can't believe you have that power. If I was an enemy I could've been erased from existence.
Jacob: I won't use it against good hearted people.
Roxy: Let's go ahead and get back to the hall and turn in the quest.
Sylvie: They're gonna be surprised at how fast we finished this.
Jacob: I'm thinking about that payout so we can go out and eat to celebrate.
The girls are excited about having a date night.
With the sun high in the sky, the group returns to the guildhall where everyone is in a panic. Ryder is frantically trying to get everyone in order so they can work out the plan of rescue.
Jacob: Hey Ryder, what's going on?
Ryder: Atle and his group took a quest too strong for them and now we've got word they're in danger of being killed by the dragon in the northern settlement.
Inki: So what's the problem?
Roxy: Inki, they need to be rescued.
Inki: That's not our problem, they've done nothing but cause us trouble since they met us.
Sylvie: I agree, I say we let 'em figure it out.
Before anyone else could say anything, Jacob walked outside.
Phoebe: Jake, dear?
Sylvie: Wait, baby, where are you going?
Jacob: Isn't it obvious. I'm going to save them.
Inki: My love, why would you go out of your way for people who are terrible?
Jacob: Cause it's the right thing to do. Just because they're scum doesn't mean they deserve to die. They work just like us to make a living and protect people. Yeah they're doing it for wrong reasons, but still they do it.
Roxy: I'm coming with you.
Jacob: Alright, let's go.
Jacob and Rox began walking in the direction when Phoebe, and Sylvie joined them. Inki hesitated not wanting to help people who hurt her love, but in the end she joined them not wanting to let them have all the fun of beating up a dragon. They made their way to the northern lands, seeing citizens covered in burns, some were being moved on stretchers as they're bodies were too damaged to move on their own. Jacob could see in the distance the green dragon was flying around spewing a black flame out of its mouth destroying the forest and the homes of the people. When they finally arrived at the location Atle and his group were pinned down and badly injured. Lymo was shooting ice spells in hopes of piercing the dragon's thick hide to no avail.
Lymo: I can't break its skin no matter what I do. You doing okay Vic?
Victor had a 3rd degree burn on his right leg and couldn't move it, Atle was adding some ointment to ease the pain and putting gauze on it to keep it from getting infected.
Victor: What I wouldn't give to have a healer on the team.
Atle: Well, we make due with what we have.
Jacob: You all look like shit.
Atle's group looked and saw Jacobs group standing over them unimpressed with the situation.
Victor: What the hell are you doing here freak? I don't remember asking for help.
Sylvie: You three are lucky anyone came at all no one at the guildhall was willing to do anything.
Inki: So how about you do us all a favor and shut up.
Jacob: I got the dragon, Sylvie you get its attention. Phoebe you heal chuckle nuts.
Victor: What did you call me?
Roxy: Shut up and watch.
Victor: How dare you talk to me, animal!
Jacob: On second thought Inki, kick him in his bad leg.
Inki: With pleasure.
Inki proceeded to kick Victor hard on his burn causing him to scream so loud the dragon noticed and began flying at full speed to them charging a fire blast.
Lymo: Way to go morons now it's coming to kill us.
Jacob: Well that makes this easier, sorry Sylvie.
Sylvie: It's fine, but I expect a great date when we get back.
Phoebe: We all do!
Jacob: Sounds good to me.
Atle: I don't know why you're all so calm, we are about to die.
Roxy: Watch closely, Jake is the strongest there is.
Jacob proceeded to take a deep breath before jumping full force at the dragon. He clenched his right fist tight, charging a powerful punch.
Jacob: I'll show you a real dragon. Now Dragon Fist!
The punch Jacob threw was full of concentrated power and in its energy a corporeal dragon came out and wrapped around the green dragon causing it intense pain. Atle and his group can't understand what they are seeing.
Victor: What the hell is that?
Lymo: Where did that second dragon come from and why is it fighting the green one?
Sylvie: That's Jake, the man you disrespected.
Atle: How is that possible?
Phoebe: Jake is one of the prophesied heroes sent to save us.
Victor: You're kidding me!
Rox: No, we're not.
Everyone watches as the green dragon fights it's best against the dragon fist only to be completely enveloped and destroyed. Jacob falls down to the ground landing hard on his feet making a crater. The girls run up to see him standing unfazed at what transpired.
Jacob: Should we head back, last I checked I owed all you lovely ladies a date.
Girls: Of course.
The group starts walking back towards Pendle when Atle stops them.
Jacob: Can I help you?
Atle: Fight me.
Jacob: Why would I do that?
Victor: You took that beating we gave and didn't lift a finger but if you were this strong why didn't you fight back?
Jacob: Because you aren't with it.
Atle: I'll prove to you that you shouldn't look down on me.
Atle charges at Jacob sword drawn and swings full force at his head, but before it can make contact Jacob using one finger flips him over his shoulder causing Atle to crash on his back. Jacob and the group continue to proceed not caring about Atle and his group. They had done their job in saving them and wanted nothing more to do with them.
Inki: Serves you right lizardboy.
Victor stands in front of them putting all his weight down on his good leg, he has his twin daggers drawn.
Victor: We will not be made fun of, now fight me.
Jacob: Like I told your leader, you're not worth it.
They continue walking, when Jacob gets close to Victor, Victor tries to stab Jacob, only for him to kick him in his bad leg, sending him to the ground tearing up from the pain.
Victor: Damnit, why the leg again. There's no honor in that.
Jacob: None of you have any honor to begin with. You insulted one of my girlfriends, you called me a disgrace, and you teamed up to attack me. You have no moral high ground to stand on.
Inki: You can't stand to begin with so just stay down and heal.
Sylvie: You had a chance to get healed by our lovely priest but you had to disrespect our sweet beastman. If you apologize she might take pity on you.
Phoebe: Not even an apology would make me want to heal him anyway.
Lymo stood in their way, for a moment he wanted to make an attempt at fighting Jacob before deciding that his two comrades lost so easily and the hero wasn't objecting to fighting dirty. He lowered his staff and stepped to the side.
Sylvie: At least someone was smart.
Lymo: I just don't see a point in me being incapacitated as well as my comrades.
Jacob: If you're a mage heal your comrade, he's clearly in pain.
Lymo: I don't need you to tell me that.
Jacob: And yet you haven't done it.
The group continues walking past Lymo to return to Pendle, the sun completely sets and by the time they return to the village it's dark and every store is closed. The guildhall lights are still on so they decide to inform whoever is there that the dragon is defeated and Atle's group is safe.
They walk in and see all the guild members sitting and relaxing at the tables. Ryder is sitting behind his counter filing completed quests. Jacob walks up and waves at Ryder, he is shocked to see the group back so quickly.
Ryder: What happened, was the dragon too strong?
Jacob: No we beat it, the others are getting healed and they'll be back probably tomorrow.
Ryder: Y-you already beat the dragon?
Jacob: Yeah, check it out.
Jacob puts the fang of the dragon on the counter for Ryder to confirm the kill. Once he does he is shocked that the dragon was destroyed so quickly.
Ryder: Well, because you helped kill the dragon we'll give you half of the payment and the others will get the other half.
Inki: That's nonsense, they did no damage to the beast. My love did all the work for them.
Ryder: As I was not there I can't confirm those claims and it would be your word against theirs.
Jacob: It's fine Inki, we also need to turn in the ghoul quest.
Ryder: You defeated the ghouls as well? You really are a hero, that is incredible.
Their payout for completing the 100 ghoul quest nets the group more than the amount Jacob spent on the girls' gifts and he sighs in relief as he was worried that once they found out, Sylvie would punch him into oblivion. The extra from the dragon quest was nice too. Since he couldn't take them on a date that night he offered to make the next day a whole day one long date for them, even offering one on one dates with each girl for a few hours. The girls loved that idea and were excited, Phoebe grabbed some sticks and using the trick Marco and Ron did she made the tips different colors. Red, blue, green, and purple.
Phoebe: Okay, so red gets the first date, blue gets second, green gets third, and purple gets last.
Sylvie: Where did you come with that?
Jacob: Isn't that.
Phoebe: Yes, I'm doing what you and the other heroes did to determine which route you would all take.
Roxy: So Jake meeting us was made on a stick choice?
Phoebe: The fates aligned him to us, and now the fates will decide our date order. Jake dear please take the sticks and move them around, but close your eyes so not even you know who you get first.
Jacob: Alright, that seems fair.
Jacob takes the sticks blindfold himself and moves the sticks around in his hand. He takes the blindfold off and holds them out in front of him. The girls each take one stick and the order is. Syvlie gets the first date, Inki gets the second, Rox gets the third and Phoebe gets the last date of the day. Sylvie is excited to be the first to get time with Jacob and jumps for joy. Phoebe does look disappointed she has to wait until the end of the day to be with him.
Jacob: Alright let's get to bed. I have a long day tomorrow.
The group goes to bed, Phoebe and Rox successfully get Jacob's arms and chest, Inki is initially upset but Sylvie informs her that since she and her get the first 2 dates it's only fair they get to cuddle him. Sylvie stares at Jacob with love in her eyes and blush on her face, excited for what the morning brings.
