In this part Emerl and J go to get some answers from Windblade but before that Metal Sonic and Emerald interfeare.

The Truth Revealed

Emerl and J make it back to the familiar walls of the castle and there waiting for them was Windblade her back to them.

"Windblade!" Emerl said and runs up to her. "It isn't you. The person most special to me…It's not you…Right?"

"And what do you mean you did something similar to me?" J asked.

"No, Emerl." Windblade said to Emerl's question "The girl you really care about….The one who was always with you…" She turns to sadly face them "It's not me. It's her."

"But then who…who is it?" Emerl asked confused "Because I can't….think of her name. If she's so special to me, then why can't I remember?"

"Because…and this answers your question J, I went into your memories and…" Windblade began to explain.

"Let ME explain this." A familiar voice said cutting her off and the group see standing by the stairs sword drawn as Metal Sonic he then said "Plain and simple."

"Be a nice change of pace to have something explained" J said annoyed at these interruptions as Metal approaches.

"Your memory is a train wreck." Metal said to Emerl. "You're not the one who's meant to protect Windblade. It's supposed to be me! But you and you're messed-up memories are always in the way, Emerl!" He takes up a battle stance

"Looks like he's itching for another fight" J said concerned

"We have to go through him for the answers" Emerl said, "Set it up J"

"Right!" J said nodding

-Arena Authorization: Serial Designation J-

The arena is set up but unlike the last few times, Metal is also channeling through his free hand a dark energy speare, seems this time he intends not to hold anything back as he sparks with dark energy.

The charge in and Metal goes for Emerl which leaves him open for a flying Sonic Claws attack from J and then another while he was airborne. Metal attempts to do a Helm Split attack but Emerl then Sonic Blades him. Emerl and J with the renewed comradery and prior fights with him were able to counter and attack the robot hedgehog.

Metal annoyed lets loose all his pent up frustration and anger doing Dark Fiagra and knocks the two back.J manages to catch Emerl and sends him flaying at Metal who strikes him and hits him enough to finish him off.

"This isn't….the end…" Metal said weakly as he was struck.

A Boss card appears and Emerl takes it, but was surprised it was of Metal Sonic but the title said 'Metal Sonic Replica'

"What the…?" Emerl said surprised.

"Hmmmm…." J said thinking.

-End of Battle-

They return to the same room and see Metal Sonic standing there till he falls to one knee, apparently used up too much of his own energy in these repeated fights.

"Metal!" Emerl called out

"Be careful Emerl" J said cautious

"You both want some more!" Metal said and fires a dark firegra blast at them knocking them both back

"Emerl! J!" Windblade called out.

Metal Sonic gives a smirking look as he gets up and begins walking to Emerl who lay on his back, his cape slightly singed.

Emerl struggles to get up as he looks at his bet friend and said "Metal…"

"Looks like I win." Metal said pleased with himself.

"Metal, stop!" Windblade called out to him

"You are through!" Metal said as he raises Soul Eater ready to strike.

"I said STOP!" Windblade cried out.

All a sudden a spark flashes on Metal's forehead as the robot hedgehog looks shocked, he then collapses onto the floor and lays there like a doll.

"Metal…?" Emerl asked confused but the robot didn't respond "Metal! METAL!" He looks at Windblade "What did you do? What did you do to him?"

Just then a corridor of darkness appears and Emerald aka Psycho Pink appears smirking.

"Broke his heart. I'd say more like she smashed it, really." Emerald said tauntingly.

"Great you're here, almost forgot you were even in this place" J said annoyed of Emerald's presence as she stands up

"Smashed…his heart?!" Emerl said in shock and gets up "Then….what's gonna….What's gonna happen to Metal?"

Emerald laughs in amusement and smirks saying "Oh you're so fun to watch. If it's Metal you're worried about, then don't. Because Metal Sonic was never really here."

"What do you mean?" Emerl asked confused while J's LED eyes widen.

"Do you really think I'm just gonna say it?" Emerald said grinning "That's too easy! Oh, what to do?"

"Quit the games!" Emerl said in anger.

"Emerl stop!" J called out

Emerl charges and wildly attacks Emerald who dodges him and kicks him down to the ground.

"All right, have it your way then. Besides from the look on J's face she figured it out" Emerald said shrugging as Emerl struggles to get up "I know it will kill you to hear this, but I think I can live with that."

"Yeah…I thought on it and realized now…Metal is a replica, like the one of me." J said nodding

"Oh you are smart, well done." Emerald said clapping "Indeed, that thing lying there is just a puppet that Shockwave made as an experiment. A lot different then how he made yours J, so you know. But both a no more than toys."

"It's laughable really" Emerald said with a shrug. "While the J was was self-aware and knew it was not the real deal, this one called you a fake Emerl, but IT was a fabrication all along."

"Not Metal? A fake?!" Emerl said in shock

"Fake in every possible way." Emerald said nodding.

"That explains why Shockwave was so dismissive of it." J said recalling how the scientist acted when talking about Metal.

"Yeah besides it was only finished recently just before the J replica was completed." Emerald explained walking up to the Metal replica "How could it remember anything?" She picks up the replica "You get it? It's memories with Windblade were just planted, not real."

She then tosses the Metal Sonic replica to the side and he just lands onto the floor and doesn't react at all.

"Yup. That means, all this time, it's been picking fights with you over memories that were counterfeit, trumped up, and completely bogus." Emerald explained she then looks to Windblade "Isn't that the truth, Windblade?" She then holds WIndblade's face to make her look up "Oh, so cute…but behind this little face, you do awful things. You should know this better than anyone J?" Windblade looks away.

"Windblade…." Emerl said shocked

"What do you mean?" J asked

"You're so stupid and you're slow on the uptake J." Emerald said turning to them "Don't you both get it now? That's what Windblade's powers are about! She can enter, rearrange and even create new memories of anything, even things that never happen. She can even remove a beings entire memory as she did with you J."

"W-What…?" J asked shocked.

"That's how Shockwave was able to make your replica J" Emerald said "You were found by Marr in that town of eternal Twilight when out on a mission, you were deactivated and brought here where you were a test subject for Windblade's powers, your history with Marr was all a fabrication."

"N-no…" J said falling to her knees in shock.

"J…" Emerl said feeling sorry for her

Emerald smirks and looks to Emerl "As for you, the girl you've been trying to protect all this time is really a manipulative witch who shackles people's hearts!"

"Then…my memories…are all…" Emerl also in shock in realization as he finally gets it

"Oh, you do get it! Lies, lies, all lies!" Emeral said with a grin "Just Windblade's illusions, nothing more. Plus I bet Marr doesn't care for you anymore J, once we get your replica to work again she will be more useful replacement."

Emerald looks to Emerl "As for you, binding you in the chains of your own memory was central to our trap. It makes me tingle to think how easily you were duped. So close to it we were almost there. This was our only chance to turn the Keyblade warrior into our puppet, but…" She gets an angry look "That jerk Brutaka he used Windblade to betray us!" She summons her Thief's Respite weapon

"Oh not good" J said still stunned in her shock.

"So now, I'm left with no choice but to eliminate you!" Emerald said approaching them "and I may as well scrap you J and bring what's left to Marr."

"You'll pay…" Emerl said.

Windblade runs and gets between them and said to Emerald "Don't!"

"Huh? It's a little late for the witch to grow a conscience." Emerald told her "Last time I checked YOU'RE the own who fooled around with both of their memories creating this mess."

"I know but-" Windblade said but couldn't think of what to say

"I should tell you that I'm in an EXTREMLY annoyed mood." Emerald said as he Psycho mask helmet forms on her head "Thanks to you, all our plans are ruined!" She then smacks Windblade aside making her land by the Metal replica.

"Windblade!" Emerl said in shock.

"That's cruel even for you Pink!" J said in anger.

"What's this?" Emerald said amused "Are you both upset? And you both don't even actually know her!"

"Maybe not." Emerl said weakly "But still…I made….a promise."

"What?" Emerald asked confused.

"A promise I made to Windblade to keep her safe." Emerl said standing up "Maybe my memories are fake. But the promise is real to me." He falls to one knee "That's why I'll keep it."

"As for me, I just hate you so much more then her." J said simply to Emerald.

"Hmph. Both of you are such idiots." Emerald scoffed "There is no promise and there never was! You're just delusional. Must you insist on playing the hero?" She then said smirking under the helmet "Whatever. If that's the way you both want it…You're both going down alone!"

She moves to strike but a cyber shield along with a purple blur make her lose the stance as she dodges some blasts. Emerl and J then feel themselves getting healed

"Not if we can stop you!" A familiar voice said and Emerl and J look to see Togami who spoke, Hiro, Doom and Lilac standing in front of them battle ready.

"Togami, Hiro, Doom, Lilac! You found us!" Emerl said happy to see them.

"Of course we did." Hiro said smiling "We were worried about you!"

"J, thanks for keeping Emerl safe until now" Lilac said to her.

"It was nothing" J said bashfully.

"We also promised!" Doom said, "We promised that we would protect you!"

"Besides, a Togami never goes back on there promises" Togami said firmly.

"Yeah, you won't ever be alone." Hiro said nodding "It's been the five of us since Oscar left to return home and we stick together…"

"and J, you're officially a part of us now" Doom told her nodding "if you want."

"I…yes…I want that" J said after all her life with Marr was just a lie.

"Then with that, this is how it will be from now on!" Togami said nodding firmly.

"Alright then…have it your way" Emerald said smirking under her helmet as she charges her electro boots. "More pain for you means more fun for me!"

She then sets up the arena.

-Arena Authorization: Psycho Pink, Number XII-

The battle again and Emerald starts off with having her weapons in gun mode and opens fire with them scoring some hits on Emerl and J. She then tries to do a lighting attack but Emerl pulls off a Sonic Blade knocking her off balance.

Emerald makes illusion clones of herself and J does a whirlwind attack to send them all flying up and follows with a Sonic Claws to take them all out.

"Nice try but get out of her!" Emerald said and kick J away and tries to focus on just Emerl but he is able to counter her

Emerl does some Sonic Blades and nearly beats her but Emerald uses her sickle to knock him into the wall. She readies to attack again when she hears a gun click as she then sees behind her J with an in her LED eyes and her arm with an machine gun hand

"Checkmate…you corporate bankruptcy" J said and before Emerald can react J opens fire

"This…can't be happening!" Emerald said in shock as she was shot and her weapons fade from her hands.

The darkness from those weapons form into a Emerald boss card which Emerl takes.

-End of Battle-

Emerald staggers weakly clutching her chest which had several bullets hit it. She was trying to keep standing

"No…No!" Emerald said sounding desperate "I refuse to lose to such a bunch of losers!" She then looks as like with Shockwave darkness comes off of her "I think I'm…I'm fading?! No, this isn't….the way I…I won't…ALLOW…" with that she fully fades away finally defeated

J goes to where Emerald stood and spits on it, since she somehow is able to spit, and said "Good riddance, for as long as I knew her she got on my nerves."

"Well, least you're with a better group now" Lilac said and J smiles nodding.

The group then look to Windblade who was kneeling on the floor and apporch her.

"You must be Windblade!" Hiro said smiling "It's good to meet you. We're friends of Emerl's and my name is…"

"You're Yasahiro Hakagure, Hiro for short" Windblade said and looks to the others "and you're Togami, Commander Doom and Sash Lilac."

"That's right, but how do you know what?" Togami asked confused.

"Guess you guys didn't see the conversation we had prior to that fight with Emerald" J said looking down as does Emerl.

"Well regardless congratulation Emerl!" Lilac said smiling "You finally found your friend. I am happy for you!"

"Wow, there really are so many questions…" RiCO said appearing, she was there for the conversation so she was the only other one of the group outside of Emerl and J to know the truth. "Windblade, I know this probably won't be easy for you…but can you tell us what happened?"

"Of course. It's my fault after all." Windblade said nodding and stands up "The truth is, I took the people and memories that were inside Emerl's heart…and little by little, I replace them with false memories."

"I short and simple terms, she is the reason behind Castle Oblivion's memory exchange, not the castle itself." J told the group.

"Then, what about Emerl's promise?" Doom asked.

"Made up. It was fake as was J's loyalty to Marr." Windblade said in response. "Emerl never really promised me anything. Me being with him on the islands that was a lie, just like everything else. We never met. I was never Emerl's friend…"

"And you were never anything more-either…." Emerl said sadly.

"No. You see, in all of your true memories, I was never really there." Windblade explained.

"I see, then that must mean what J said was true and it was your magic that made the rest of us lose our memories, too." RiCO said.

"Or made us recount events we didn't really recall happening." J added. "What I want to know is, is there any way for us to ever get them back?"

"I am not sure on all the memories I took from you J as they were given to Shockwave to make that replica of you I doubt you'll ever get them back now." Windblade said sadly "But everything else I can fix if we go to the thirteenth floor. But Marr, he…"

"I think we all know who that is." RiCO said. "Is he the one who made you tamper with all of our memories?"

"Yeah, my former master, I will have to give my two weeks notice" J said nodding.

"If I didn't obey, he said I'd be locked in this castle forever." Windblade explained "I've been alone for so long…"

"So you did what he told you to do because you were lonely?" Hiro asked.

"While it wasn't for the same reason, Hiro and I understand the feeling of being forced to do something because you put in a desperate situation." Togami said nodding.

"Either way I'm so sorry…" Windblade said sadly.

"Don't be. Please don't cry…" Emerl said to her.

"Oh…of course." Windblade said nodding "I know I really don't have the right to."

"That isn't what he meant" J said sighing.

"What?" Windblade said surprised.

Emerl turns away "It's like this…I'm really not happy about you messing with my memories. But…you know I can't really get made at you for it, either. These memories you gave me…In my head, I know they're lies but they still feel right. Like the promise I made. I said I would protect you and that I wouldn't make you cry…not ever."

"I know how you feel, my loyalty to Marr is a lie I know, but it still pains me to betray him and leave his side." J said nodding.

Emerl nods and turns back to Windblade and said "Windblade…if you cry now I'll feel guilty, like I let you down." He smiles "So don't cry…please. Until I get my memories back, smile and try to be happy. It's easier on me that way."

"Emerl…" Windblade said.

"Oh geez! That's a bit much." Togami said to Emerl.

"It's alright, Emerl always gets like this every time he's around other girls." Lilac said giggling.

"Oh glad to see I have more of this to look forward to" J said smirking.

"Aw cut it out!" Emerl said to them. "I thought you lot lost your memories too!"

"Ha! Too bad. Good friends don't forget the good stuff!" Doom chuckled and Hiro laughs.

"Come on…" Emerl said awkwardly smiling.

Windblade giggles at this, the five were such good friends and J added in meads they all be a great group.

"There! That's it!" Emerl said smiling "That's the Windblade I remember. Yeah…I really liked it when you used to smile."

"Obviously that was only in your fake memories, this is the only time you saw it for real." J points out.

"Oh, I know." Emerl said nodding. "But what I'm feeling now definitely isn't fake. It's real."

"Thank you." Windblade said smiling.

"Alright team, let's move it, our objective now is to get to the thirteenth floor" Doom told them

"Good! I look forward to getting my memories back" Togami said sorting his glasses.

"Windblade, Marr is gonna be up there, so maybe you'd better stay down here." Hiro said in concern.

"Yeah. Maybe you can look after Metal?" Emerl suggested. "We'll come get you when it's over."

"Okay." Windblade said nodding. The group head for the stairs and Emerl looks back "Please be careful, Emerl."

"I'll be okay…I promise" Emerl said smiling.

"I'll make sure he keeps it" J said flying to the stairs and holds out an Oblivan keyblade attack card.

With that the group of six head up to the next floor.

Well Metal and Emerald are taken care of and the group have a plan to restore the memories taken from them but Marr and Brutaka still stand in thier way.
