At home Izuku was scrolling through the camera systems. It hadn't taken much for him to hack their security. Even getting into the police systems were easy. Izuku was keeping an eye out for trouble so he could head there in the evening. It was surprising to find that it was quiet out.
Internally Izuku winced. Even thinking the word quiet was dangerous. It was known to provoke absolute chaos and he really didn't want a repeat of the night before. His should still ached.
He would have to be more careful in his duties as a vigilante. The drug dangers like Trigger wasn't something he considered beforehand. His quirk when combined with Trigger could drag others into his danger.
A ping from his computer caught his attention, announcing an email. Curiosity got the better of him and Izuku opened it. To find it was the promised contract from Nezu. The rat truly wanted him to study under him and there was a clause for getting into his preferred program. Nezu was even offering to personally tutor him which would allow Izuku to drop out of Middle School.
It was more than the young man could have hoped for. The only problem was the requirement of having a parental signature. Which meant he actually had to interact with his mother. That was not going to end well for him.
If he actually had friends he could ask them to forge her signature. No friends for him so that was off the table. Signing it himself would not endear him to Nezu when the rat found out. And he would find out. There was no mistaking that. It would be a matter of time.
Izuku tapped his fingers on his desk in a familiar pattern. What to do? He didn't get much of a chance to consider it. A loud bang sounded from the front of apartment. Speaking of his mother it seemed she had come home. He would bet she was drunk.
"Izuku," she half slurred, and half yelled, "Come here!"
Izuku was very tempted to escape out the window rather than face her. Unfortunately if he tried that she would be waiting for him when he got back. So with obvious reluctance Izuku stood from his desk and left the room. He headed down the hall. No matter how silent he thought he was it wasn't enough. His mother must have heard him as she burst out of the living room.
The smell of alcohol was prevalent. Even without having heard her speak he would have known she was drunk. She was always drunk nowadays it was a wonder she hadn't been fired from her job.
"There you Izuku," she continued to slur, "Why did I get a call from your Homeroom Teacher today?"
Damn that school. They worked faster than Izuku expected. Thankfully he already had an excuse ready for Nezu's interest. It worked in his favor about his mother's lies when it came to his quirk.
Carefully so as not to seem disrespectful Izuku answered, "During Hero Week a detective with the Police Department came to visit. Part of the first day was an analysis of quirks."
"How is this relevant to you being pulled out of Middle School, you ungrateful brat?" Screeched Inko.
"Nezu wants to take me on as his personal student," answered Izuku evenly a sense of danger prickling at the back of his neck, "He of course needs your signed permission to do so."
She stared at him long and hard for a moment. A part of him felt the need to fidget under her gaze but he quashed it. He had done nothing wrong here. Hell he was even telling her the truth to what Nezu was wanting.
"Personal student?" She questioned shrilly with disbelief written all over her face, "With a weak quirk like yours? Don't lie to me Izuku! Tell me first of why you're squandering all of my hard earned income by not going to school."
Izuku defiantly answered, "I'm not lying mom. I have an email with a contract from Nezu. All I need to do is print it out and have you sign it. He wants me to start first thing on Monday."
"Let me see this contract," she screeched even loud and Izuku barely withheld a wince.
What was she? A banshee? Bakugo's explosions were quieter. In an enclosed room.
Izuku returned to his room and printed the contract from Nezu. It was short and straightforward so his mother shouldn't have an issue with it. Especially given that Nezu wouldn't be asking for payment. Still he was reluctant to bring it to her.
When he brought it to Inko she read through it with suspicious eyes. He could tell she thought it was a forgery. Thankfully for him there was no forging Nezu's signature or the distinctive UA watermarks.
Finally she said with a glare, "I will not give you money for supplies. If you want supplies then you will have to get a job for them."
"Yes, ma'am," he answered coolly.
She signed the papers and threw them at Izuku. He didn't say anything else as he retreated heading back for his room. He signed at the bottom of the contract before scanning it and sending it to Nezu. Then he looked at the clock it was close to the first time he entered Zero Hour during the night before. He should activate it now rather than risk it activating during an inopportune time.

Naomasa blinked. How in the fuck? All he did was fucking blinking! Where did this cup of his favorite coffee come from?!
Night Annoyances:
Zero: Enjoy your coffee, Detective.
Needssleep: Where's my coffee, Zero?
Against his better judgment Naomasa felt a smile pulling at his lips. He could practically hear the man's pout and whine from here.
Zero: Sorry Eraser. My time was running out so I didn't have the chance to get you coffee too.
There it was again. Time. Just what did Zero mean by it? This man was a conundrum.
