Kagome ran through the palace, uncaring of the stares of the servants. Now that she knew herself, she did not want to wait any longer in telling him. She haphazardly threw open doors as she went, apologizing quickly if she found them occupied, but not stopping any longer than a few seconds. Feverishly searching, she rounded a corner and promptly barreled into someone, sending them both to the floor.

"What the hell, Kagome?!" InuYasha cursed as he extricated himself from her, sitting cross legged in front of her. Kagome got onto her knees, rubbing her legs.

"InuYasha! Sorry, I was searching…," she trailed off at his anxious expression, "What's wrong?"

"You're staying with him."

"Wha- How did, I mean-"

He frowned at her. "I may be dumb, but I'm not an idiot, Kagome. I see how he looks at you."

Tears welled up in her eyes in the tense silence that followed. "I'm sorry, InuYasha," she whispered.

"Keh. We wouldn't have worked, anyway. We already drove each other crazy traveling, let alone together for eternity."

Kagome smiled a little through her tears. "When did you get so insightful?"

"Miroku and I have been talking a lot. Also, I think Shizuka will skin me alive if I ruin her chance of gra-"

"Don't say, it please," she chuckled, before hugging him close, "And I'm still sorry."

He squeezed her back, placing his chin on her head. "I'll be fine."

"What will you do?" she asked as she rocked back onto her knees, releasing him.

"Dunno. Maybe help Miroku and Sango with their village. Maybe hang around Kaede for a while. I'll see."

She nodded lightly. "What about the jewel?"

He shrugged. "You deal with it. Gives me a headache just thinking 'bout a selfless wish."

"Thanks," she said with a wry smile, "I'd almost forgotten about that part."

He stood up and pulled her to her feet. "No problem," he grinned, "now go be the pain in his ass that I know you can be."
