Unser gave the green light for his men to breech the perimeter, Miguel, his men, and the Mayans, as well as Clay and his, were right behind them. They entered quietly and peeked around the corner from their look out.
"We've got five men," said Unser. "There could be more, we need to take them down simultaneously and quietly if we don't want Caitlin, Jax or Chibs to get caught in the cross-fire."
The cops, Sons and Mayans decided who would take down who and when they were ready, took the shots, killing them. They proceeded to continue inside that section of the warehouse, as apparently the rest seemed to be unused.
Unser peered into the window of the room. "All clear," he said, "they're in there alone."
Clay stood in front of the door and kicked it in, Unser ready to shoot if necessary.
Jax and Chibs relaxed as they saw Clay, Bobby, Opie, and Miguel enter the room.
"Where's Caitlin?" asked Miguel after realizing that she wasn't with them.
"I told her to run, but he went after her," said Jax as Bobbie knelt in front of him.
Caitlin's voice reached them in a high-pitched yell and Miguel ran out of the room instantly.
"I've got to go help him," said Jax standing with Bobby's help.
"Miguel and his men can handle it; you are in no condition to do anything."
Straddled on her knees, holding her restrained hands in one hand, Weston fumbled to unbutton her jeans, as she kept trying to buck him off her with her legs.
She screamed with all her might as he finally managed to undo the button and lowered her zipper.
"Shut up," he said his face lowering over hers, his hand away from her jeans, circled around her throat and tightened enough to cut off some of the oxygen and rendering her voiceless.
Realizing he wouldn't be able to do anything without at least one free hand, he had to find a solution. He noticed a hook on the vat within arm distance for her, lifted her arms and hooked the cable tie around it. He then sat back down on her knees, still strangling her, and tugged at the sides of her jeans to lower them.
Whether it was the lack of oxygen, the upcoming trauma or exhaustion from everything, Caitlin's eyes started to close slowly. The sound of a gunshot echoed throughout the quiet and empty warehouse. The hand around her throat slid away and then she heard a loud thud.
She felt a soft gentle hand caress her cheek. "Mi amor?" she heard Miguel's worried voice call out to her.
She opened her eyes and they finally reconnected with the ones of the man she loved. "You came for me," she said as she started to cry. "I'm sorry, Miguel."
"Shh…" he replied as he placed his forehead against hers. He then looked up at Romeo and pointed to the cable tie. "Nice and slow."
Romeo nodded and held Caitlin's wrists as he severed the cable tie, then lowered her arms and hands, slowly, until they were around Miguel's neck. Miguel stood, Caitlin in his arms and along with Romeo, Angel and Loza headed toward the front of the warehouse.
When they walked outside, everyone turned to look at them. He lowered Caitlin on the stretcher the paramedics had rolled over.
Miguel followed the paramedics inside the ambulance and sat down alongside the stretcher as they hooked up Caitlin to the scope and prepared to put in a catheter for an IV drip.
"She's pregnant," said Miguel as he looked at the paramedic, then down to Caitlin, taking her hand in his.
Chibs who had raised his head, from his stretcher, to look at Caitlin when they had come out, closed his eyes in surrender and lowered his head back down. Not that he'd had a doubt before, but now that she was carrying his child, he knew it was over for good.
"We'll just hydrate her and give her something for the pain that's safe for the baby," replied the paramedic.
Caitlin's eyes searched Miguel's upon realizing he knew what she had been so impatient to tell him upon his return. He smiled, then lowered his lips on hers in a gentle, yet lingering kiss.
"Tu eres mi amor, mi alma, mi vida", he said "Ambos lo sois ahora."
"Te amo mucho, mi amor," she replied, a tear rolling from her eye, which he wiped away.
"I'll be right back."
She held on to his hand.
"I promise. Regardless of everything, if only temporarily, Clay and the Sons were there when we needed them. I'm going to have a quick talk with him."
She nodded and let go of his hand allowing him to stand and for the paramedic to take his place so he could fully check her out before heading to the hospital.
"How are your men?" asked Miguel stopping by Clay's side.
Clay looked at Gemma who was in the ambulance with Jax. "Jax is pretty banged up, but he'll be fine. Chibs is in worse shape, not that I think you care."
"You're right, I don't," replied Miguel.
"Why'd you, do it?" asked Clay narrowing his eyes.
"Do what?"
"Tell Cat that Chibs was married."
"Because everyone in her life has lied to her. She deserved to know the truth and make a decision about the kind of life she wanted to live, based on facts." Miguel looked at Clay. "I'm surprised that you'd let the woman you considered your daughter, marry a man who already was. I doubt that John would have let her."
Clay grimaced but was unable to say anything. The simple fact of hearing John's name, reminding Clay that he was Caitlin's biological father who had killed, was enough to silence him.
"This, changes nothing," said Miguel, "when these ambulances drive out of here, everything goes back to the way they were. Don't imagine for one second that us working together on saving them, means that the dynamic has changed. You still work for me and owe me respect. You mess with me, with my merchandise or Caitlin, just as easily as I did with Hale, I won't have any issues to pull the trigger and kill you."
"What about Zobelle?" asked Clay as Miguel walked toward Alvarez.
"Me and my men, will hunt him down, and take care of it."
"How is your wife?" asked Alvarez, el padrino, as Miguel stopped next to him, Loza and Angel.
"Hopefully she'll be OK, thank you for your help."
"We may not always get along," said Alvarez, "but we'll be here if you need us."
"Thank you," said Miguel as he shook hands with all three and walked back to the ambulance.
Once he was inside, the EMT shut the doors and they drove to the hospital, the other two ambulances following closely behind.
Jax looked at the bodyguards standing in front of the door as he knocked.
"I was hoping I could see Cat," he said as Miguel stood in front of the opened hospital door. "How is she?"
"She'll get better. I know you tried to protect her."
"She's, my sister. I'd give my life for her."
Miguel nodded. "I guess you and I aren't that different, Jax. We both love her deeply and would die for her."
"I'm not your enemy, Miguel," said Jax. "I may not agree with you bringing Caitlin into your lifestyle, but I know you love her, and she loves you."
Miguel raised an interested brow.
"If she didn't love you, she would never have married you," added Jax.
"I need to make a phone call and see where we are with the hunt on Zobelle. She'll be happy to see you," said Miguel as he stepped out in the corridor and walked away with one of the bodyguards.
"Miguel? Who was it?" asked Cat as she turned her head toward the door. "Jax?"
She looked past him. "Where's Miguel?"
"He had to make a call and thought I could stay with you."
He sat on the edge of the bed and they hugged for a few minutes.
"How are you feeling?" he asked as they parted.
"My eye is finally, somewhat, back to normal. As for the rest, it still feels like I was beaten up but it's slowly subsiding."
She saw him press his lips together. "What?" she asked.
"Did he…? I mean, did he touch you?"
"No," she said shaking her head. "Miguel got there just in time and killed him."
Jax nodded, stood from the bed, and walked over to the window to look outside. "Chibs overheard Miguel saying to the EMT that you're pregnant." He turned to look at her. "Is it true?"
"Yes. I found out the morning of the day they took us. I was waiting for Miguel to return from his trip to tell him. He must have seen the pregnancy test box in the bathroom and found the test. It wasn't how I wanted to tell him."
"What they did to you, didn't do anything did it?"
"Baby is fine. We had an ultrasound this morning."
"You always wanted to be a mom," said Jax smiling at her.
"Yes. It means everything to me and even more because it's Miguel's."
"You know, up until yesterday or now, I still had my doubts as to how genuine his love for you was, but now I know his love for you true and deep. David, Chibs nor I could have loved you that way."
She stared at him agog.
He placed his hands on the railing at the foot of the bed. "There was a time when you returned, before Tara came back into my life and before I knew you were my sister, when I could envision spending the rest of my life with you."
"Jax…"
"I just want you to know that I'll always love you and I'll always be there for you."
"I know you do and will. You are my brother."
She shot a quick glance toward the door of the room. "How is Chibs?"
"He's cursing constantly and giving the nurses a hard time, which I guess is an indication that he's on the mends."
"That's good news."
"Yeah," replied Jax. "I'm going to check up on him. When are they releasing you?"
"Tonight."
He walked over to the door then turned to look at her. "Don't be a stranger, Cat. After what we've been through, I don't think I could live with it."
"I won't, I promise."
She watched as he walked out of the room, holding the door so that Miguel could enter, indicating that he had waited out in the corridor to give them privacy.
"They got Zobelle," said Miguel as he sat and took Caitlin's hand in his.
Cat let out a sigh of relief. "So, he's dead?"
"Yes, mi amor, he's dead. No one will ever touch you or hurt you again."
"What about Jacob? What happened to him?"
"I believe that Clay spared his life, but Jacob will be on a tight leash for the rest of his time as mayor. It's a smart move giving the Sons, the ability to do anything they want in Charming and get away with it."
He then tilted his head to the side. "Speaking of Jacob, how did you know it was him?"
"When we first got there, I heard a few men talking together. I couldn't make out much or hear their names, but as the hours dragged on, I couldn't help but think that I knew one of the voices. Then it hit me, Jacob has a very distinct voice and way of talking and I was pretty sure it was him. I'm glad you caught on to my message in the video."
"Well, you should thank Angel's brother, EZ, he was the one who picked up on it. I was so torn and hurt by seeing what they had done to you that revenge was the only thing I could think of."
"Will you thank him and the others for me?"
"Of course, mi amor. You look tired, why don't you rest for a while before we head home?"
"Will you stay with me?"
He kissed her, still healing, lips. "Of course," he said as he changed position, placing himself alongside her on the bed. He then opened his arm allowing her to place her head on his chest and snuggle up against him. He caressed her arm and back until she fell sound asleep. Exhausted by everything that had happened and finally relieved that it was all in the past, he surrendered to his own fatigue and fell asleep as well thinking about how lucky he was to have her as his wife and that he soon would be a father.
