Hello, Stargate fans!

I'm sorry for the delay, but really needed to be off for a few weeks and then my summer vacation hit and the off bit continued.

But here is a new chapter. An original one, just a little something to spike the curiosity and the friendship between Sheppard and my OC.

Hope you enjoy it!

Chapter 11: Original Episode 0.2

As they exited the area of the Stargate, the team looked around for a moment until their eyes fell on the entourage that was waiting for them.

As John placed his sunglasses on, he heard a snort coming from behind him.

"Really?" Alexandra whispered as she stepped next to him, as both approached the man that was right in front of the group. "Could you be more of a cliché, Sheppard?"

"What?" John looked down at her with a smile, knowing exactly what he was doing. He was amused by the roll of her eyes.

"Welcome, strangers from far away. I am Lord Waylen and this is my sister Lady Aleena. Welcome to our humble planet." The man offered a bow.

"Thank you for having us." John said, taking a step ahead. "I'm Lt. Col. John Sheppard and these are Teyla, Ronon and Drs. O'Neill and McKay." He pointed to each one as he said their names.

"Pleasure." The man approached the group and his hand found Alexandra's. "Which doctor are you, my lady?"

"I'm Alexandra O'Neill." She was impressed by the man's manners, as well as his attire. It was not the first she encountered a medieval setting in her travels. "I study the Ancient civilization. Mainly Lantean constructions, such as the ones we found in our database that belongs to your planet."

"It is true we have some ruins." Waylen kept his eyes on her. "But they are just rocks, with no significance or value. Why are you so interested in them?"

"Purely to compare the documents we found to the actual ruins. In what state they are in, how long have they been here…" Alexandra continued with a smile and being polite as the situation required.

"With a manner like your own, how can I refuse not to show them to you?" The man smiled back. "I have matters to attend but Silus will show you everything you want."

"Thank you, Lord Waylen." Alexandra offered a smile. With a raised brow, John watched them. It was the first time he could see her in action.

After a brief moment and exchange with the man called Silus, Waylen left them alongside most of the entourage. A few guards stayed behind to help them.

When the scientist looked back at the team, all were looking at her quietly.

"What?" She frowned.

"Did you just charmed the man?" Rodney was the first one to speak.

"No." Alexandra immediately said. She didn't realized she had been doing that.

"You were flirting." John continued, amused by her reaction.

"No. I was being nice. I read most of the documents regarding this planet and the ruins. And the family that looks after them."

"Really?" Rodney sounded surprised.

"Really, Rodney. Now, shall we go?" She turned away from them, following Silus and walking alongside Teyla that had a smirk of her own.

"Oh, please..." Both women snorted in a conspirational look.

"Rodney, stop mumbling." Alexandra asked.

"Sorry." The scientist said with an annoying huff as if he was tired of being callen upon his mumbling.

The two of them were inside the cave that belonged to the set of ruins they had found out about for the past three hours and haven't found anything regarding Ancients or Lanteans, even though the ruins clearly traced back to them.

"Maybe we should take a break. We haven't been here long, but I feel tired."

"I'm fine. Go ahead."

"C'mon, Rodney." She pulled him by the arm, which surprised her, since Rodney used to be more stubborn about being pulled away from his work. Or maybe he had soften since their own adventure, fighting Michael and his soldiers.

As they exited the cave, they found John sitting on a rock, drinking from his water bottle.

"Hey, docs. How was it in there? Anything worthy to mention?"

"Some notes. Not much." Alexandra rubbed her cheek, leaving dust behind.

"There's a small energy reading but we haven't found from where is coming from." Rodney continued.

"Yet." She noted. "The symbols are Ancient, but something is amiss."

"We have all the time in the world. They seem friendly." John said with a curious smile that made Alexandra raise her brow.

"Where's Ronon?" Rodney asked, interrupting the exchange.

"Scouting with Teyla." John answered.

"Okay. I'll go check something with them."

"Don't stray too far, McKay!" John shouted, seeing him leave the site.

"Dr. O'Neill. Col. Sheppard." Lady Aleena approached them with guards following her as she watched the other scientist leave the other two behind.

"What can we do for you, Lady Aleena?" John stood from the rock, turning his attention to the woman, with a tiny smirk plastered on his lips.

"My brother invites you and your team for dinner and to spend the night at our residence." Her eyes had landed on both of them but stayed on John.

"That would be lovely." Alexandra smiled when her team leader didn't answer. "We'll be there in one hour."

John offered Aleena an even cheekier smile as the woman bowed with a small flush on her cheeks.

"Oh, please... Really?" The scientist was amused.

"What?" John frowned, his eyes landing on Alexandra who was staring at him.

"Oh, nothing… It's just that is my first mission with you and all the clichés I heard about were just confirmed in the first few hours."

"Clichés?" John raised his brow.

"Yep." She merely answered, turning back her attention to her tablet. "Sunglasses on, making googly eyes to a woman, cheeky smile in place… Check, check, check." The scientist looked up with a playful smile of her own.

"You're so funny sometimes, doc." John almost pouted, then he stepped closer as if a little kid wanting something. "Don't tell me you're jealous."

"And tell me, why would I be jealous?" She looked up. It was actually frustrating not seeing his hazel eyes behind the sunglasses.

Amused, John just shrugged, his hands placed on his uniform belt. Even he was not sure of why he had said that.

However, he liked that they were up to their usual banter. After the Travelers incident and the way Alexandra had reacted to him coming back, he didn't know if that would happen. For a couple of days, he had felt that her usual cheerful energy had been off.

Narrowing her eyes at his antics, Alexandra got back to her work, leaving a John Sheppard to contact the rest of the team to get back to their location.

After freshening herself up on the quarters assigned to her, Alexandra left and found McKay walking down the hallway.

"Wait up, Rodney!" She caught up to him and made him stop. The older scientist gave her a brief smile. "How did you know me and Cam had broken up? And why did you tell John?"

"He told you I said that?!" Suddenly, Rodney looked unease but sighed. "I heard it in a conversation. And it slipped up. I didn't intend to tell him."

Alexandra rubbed her temple as they kept walking. She knew Rodney meant well, so she changed the subject.

"Don't you think it's strange we didn't find anything of significance on those ruins? After everything we found on the database?"

"I do. It's like they were made for a purpose."

"Or on purpose. There's this naggind feeling... They feel... new." She voiced her opinion.

"You think we are being played?" Rodney frowned at the idea.

"I honestly don't know… Oh, please… Really?" Alexandra had just entered the common area of the Waylen sumptuous residence as her eyes landed on John and Aleena too close for just a conversation.

"It's his Kirk act." Rodney almost chuckled.

"It has a name?" Alexandra raised a brow at the other scientist.

"Yeah. Kirk got all the girls. John does that too."

"I got that much, Rodney." Rollling her eyes, she shouldn't be surprised. She had witnessed that earlier and he had tried the same with her, at least until John found out who her uncle was.

"Ah! Dr. O'Neill. A sight for sore eyes." Waylen approached her.

"Lord Waylen." She smiled, not enjoying the sudden closeness. "Thank you for your hospitality."

"Sit next to me."

Upon Waylen's entrance, John took a step back from his conversation and sat in front of Alexandra, with Ronon on one side and Aleena on the other.

"Everything looks lovely, Lord Waylen. – Teyla mentioned, sitting next to Rodney, who sat between her and Alexandra.

"Thank you, Teyla." Waylen smiled as he sat at the head of the table. "I understand you are not from Atlantis."

"It is true. My planet was destroyed by the Wraith and we were lucky enough to make acquaintance with Atlantis, which ended up becoming my people's home. At least for a little while."

"The same with you, Ronon." Aleena continued the conversation, turning to the Satedan.

"It is my home, yes." Ronon nodded, not saying much, per usual.

The conversation flowed easily as they ate.

"Are you fluent in the Ancient language, Alexandra? May I call you Alexandra?" Wayled asked, turning his attention on the scientist.

"Of course. And, yes, I am fluent. As is Rodney."

"Yes, yes. I am. What is this kind of food? I can be allergic…"

"McKay." John warned, aware that Rodney could be picky to different kind of foods.

"The food is quite safe, Dr. McKay." Waylen said. "And how did that come to happen?" The man continued, not caring about the other people at the table.

"In our galaxy we found a number of Ancient sites that helped us learn." Rodney continued for her.

"Fascinating. Alongside the Ancestors, I gather."

"No. Just like in Pegasus galaxy, the Ancestors ascended a long time ago and left our plain of existence." Alexandra explained.

"And now you are all residing in Atlantis."

"We are. It's truly incredible." John Intervened. And, in that moment, he jumped slightly on the chair. His eyes going from Waylen to Alexandra to Aleena at his side.

The scientist snorted, amused by witnessing a flushed John Sheppard.

"I wonder if I would be able to visit." Waylen said, not noticing what had just happened.

"We would have to clear with our leader." Teyla said, trying to keep the attention out from their team leader as she had noticed the same as Alexandra.

"Of course, of course. I understand." Waylen nodded, standing up. "Well, I'm afraid it's becoming quite late. Unfortunately, there are matters I have to attend in the early in the morning. And I'm sure you would like to have some rest."

"I'll escort them to their quarters, brother." The young woman smiled sweetly, her eyes barely leaving John to speak to her brother.

"Oh, please…" Alexandra was interrupted by a hand grabbing her own.

"Have a good night, Dr. O'Neill." Waylen let his lips touch her skin for a moment.

At that, John frowned. If he didn't like the gesture, he certainly didn't like the touch.

Alexandra was already in bed, going over some of the data she had collectes, thinking about the sensation she got from Waylen touch when she heard a knock on her door. She hoped it would be Rodney and not the former. Since the whole Michael incident, they had become somewhat friends and questioned each other all the time. In an healthy way.

"John? What is it? Something's wrong?" She frowned, when the pilot entered without waiting for her answer.

"Yes. Everything is fine. Just wanted to talk with you." He turned to her as she stood. "Why are you all friendly with Waylen?"

"What?" She was confused. "Isn't that what we are supposed to do? Be friendly?"

"Not like that. All..." John looked disheveled, hair standing up more than usual, as if he had turned over and over in bed.

"All what? Talking?"

"It was more than talking. He was flirting with you. And kissed your hand."

"So what? It means he has manners." The scientist crossed her arms, noticing he was still wearing his black shirt and cargo pants. "That's good for a woman's ego, I'll have you know, Sheppard. Besides, I wasn't the one jumping at the table."

"What's that supposed to mean?"

"Oh, please…"

"Ah! There it is again. What is that "oh, please" you keep mumbling?"

"Really? What was Aleena doing under the table, John? I know you were a flyboy flirt but actually seeing it…

"Don't call me that."

"You know when Rodney said you were doing your Kirk act, I didn't quite grasp the notion until you jumped tonight."

"I didn't jump."

"C'mon, John." Alexandra chuckled at his pouting expression, as if a little boy caught in the mischief. "That's not too bad. I'm actually surprised you don't have company right now."

As if on cue, they heard a knock, coming from the other side of the hallway, across from her quarters. John's quarters.

"How much do you wanna bet it's Aleena?" She teased.

"Shut up, O'Neill." He grumbled, but his eyes were glued on the door.

Suddenly, there was a knock on Alexandra's door.

"Lady Aleena. How can I help you?" The scientist asked, opening the door with John hiding behind it.

"Have you seen Col. Sheppard? I must speak to him."

Alexandra took pity on John.

"I see. He must be asleep. He's a really heavy sleeper. And he can be quite grumpy if you wake him up suddenly. Is there anything I can help with?"

"Oh, no. It was just him I needed." Aleena seemed almost sad, looking away from the other woman. "I'll leave him be, then. Have a good night, Dr. O'Neill."

With a nod, seeing her walk away from the corridor, Alexandra closed the door and looked at John, that sighed in relief.

"Thank you."

"You're welcome. I think you can go. You're safe for the night." Alexandra turned away from him to sit back on the bed.

"It's probably better I stay here." John looked around and headed for the long settee at the end of the room.

"John, you can't stay here."

"Why not? Do you snore?" He laid down, getting comfortable. "Besides you never know if Waylen decides to visit you."

"Oh, so you're my knight in shining armor, flyboy?"

John gave her a not so amused stare. Alexandra offered him a cute smile.

"Don't call me that." He grumbled.

Alexandra smirked and started her tablet, going through the data once again. So much for sleepless nights as she read the documents from Atlantis.

Her eyes ended up falling on John's sleeping form. Laid back, arms crossed on his chest. She frowned.

"You're not comfortable, are you?"

"I'm fine." He groaned.

"You're going to sleep uncomfortable just to escape Aleena? Don't be a baby, John. This bed is big enough."

Opening his eyes, John looked at her to see if she was messing with him. She wasn't.

So, he stood and went around the bed to lay on the free side.

"You're not going to have another sleepless night, are you?"

Frowning at those words, Alexandra looked over at him.

"Rodney told me you spend your days going on missions, and your nights reading about these ruins." He said. "Seems obsessive."

"He told you or you asked? Because I already told you, you don't have to worry about me, Sheppard."

"It's my job to worry about everyone in Atlantis."

"I can handle myself. Even when my uncle was head of SG-1."

"I know."

"And I didn't let him do what you are trying to do. What makes you think I'm going to let you?"

"Because you don't want me to jeopardize my career."

"Says the man that didn't know he would get to Colonel."

"Hey! Don't be mean." He stared at her for a moment, seeing her go through the tablet. "Is there something worrying you?"

"Why do you ask?"

"You have this crease between your brows, since Waylen…" He implied the gesture the lord of the house had done.

"Oh, I was just surprised." Her brown eyes turned to him. "That is pretty observant, Sheppard."

The colonel merely shrugged, closing his own eyes.

After a moment, he felt her turn off everything and lay down completely on the bed.

"What if I felt that something is wrong? The ruins, the way these people act, the way the planet seems empty."

"Then I would follow your instinct because mine is a bit off. Aleena… she comes on too strongly."

Alexandra chuckled, turning on her side, seeing his profile against the moonlight coming from the window. For a moment, she wished she knew what he was thinking. And little did she know that John Sheppard was contemplating that even though it was the first time they were working together on the field, he knew better than to dismiss her knowledge.

"Maybe…"

"Why did you reacted the way you did after what happened with the Travelers?" John interrupted her, opening his eyes and finding her already watching him, confused.

"What way?"

"Like… Not caring I was back."

"Of course I cared you were back. What are you talking about?" Alexandra rested her head on her hand, not understanding where he was going with this.

"I… Nothing. Forget it."

"John…?"

A gunshot interrupted them.

John and Alexandra were immediately up and she picked up her handgun and vest, while he picked up her P'90, both going for the door.

"Weird feeling?" He whispered, glacing at her.

"Yep." She acknowledged.

Opening the door for him, John took the lead, while Alexandra covered his back. They walked through the corridors, silence filling them as they heard another shot coming from outside.

"Why is there no one here?" Eventually, she voiced his own thoughts.

The pilot didn't answer, tapping her shoulder to show her a door opened at the end. She nodded, and they went through. Immediately, there were voices.

"Dr. McKay and Ronon as promised. Teyla escaped but she will be quickly caught." They heard Waylen's voice coming from a clearing not too far.

"What about Col. Sheppard and Dr. O'Neill?"

"Dr. O'Neill was still awake and most likely the Colonel as well, since he was not in his room. But with the blast Teyla ensued, both have, most likely, become alert."

"We need to find them. Or you won't get paid, "Lord Waylen"." The unknown voice said.

John and Alexandra looked at each other, realizing they had fallen into a trap.

"The ruins were already here, it was a matter of waiting." Waylen kept going. "It's your fault if this plan goes flat. You were the one that decided to bring rocks with no value and tried to imitate the same carvings as the ones on the other side of the planet."

"That's why they seem new…" Alexandra whispered.

We need to find the others, Alex." John countered, his face serious as he heard the two voices.

She nodded.

"Go find Teyla. I'll wait here, watching Ronon and Rodney."

John nodded.

"Be careful, O'Neill."

With a nod, Alexandra's eyes found the other two men, laying on the floor of the clearing as John left.

"Teyla! Are you okay?" John had gone back inside of the residence and found his weapons in his quarters. Hearing a sound, he pulled his P90 and turned it to a weary faced Teyla.

"I am. I was having trouble sleeping when they got to my quarters, John. Was lucky enough to have my handgun with me."

"Good. Alex is outside. She has eyes on Ronon and McKay. As far as we know, Waylen was supposed to capture us. The whole team."

Both walked, watchful, tracing their steps back outside to save the others.

"Col. Sheppard." Aleena's voice was heard. "Teyla Emmagan. I've been looking for you two."

"Aleena." John's voice sounded raspy and angry. His P'90 was trained on her.

"Too bad there is no one here to help you." She almost pouted.

"Well, we are two to one right now." John said.

He cursed when three other man appeared from the shadows.

"Lower your weapons or you won't get out of here alive."

"What is this, Aleena?"

"Oh, just a matter of business. We need the money to survive. Our people won't survive much longer. And someone wants you and is willing to pay to have you all. Even Dr. O'Neill, which I know it's a new addition to the team."

"Who wants us?" Teyla finally asked.

All of a sudden, an explosion blasted through the windows, and something went down outside of the residence.

Grateful for the interruption, John and Teyla ran outside, dodging the bullets that went their way.

As they stepped outside, they saw that a Wraith dart had fallen near where they were and Waylen and his guards were nowhere in sight.

Teyla found three shadows laying on the ground. As John followed her, they realized Alex had been able to wake up Ronon and Rodney was gaining consciousness.

"What happened?" He asked, approaching the scientist. He was impressed by the destruction it had ocurred on the few minutes he had left her side.

"Let's just get of here, okay?" Alexandra took a deep breath, adjusting her vest, as she witnessed Ronon pull Rodney over his shoulder and ran in direction of the gate.

However, as the fire casted shadows over them, John had a weird feeling in his gut. Especially, after they crossed the blue pool and saw how pale she seemed.

"I bet it was Michael."

All around the breakfast table looked at Rodney.

"What?" He sounded confused. "Do you think it's that farfetched?"

"Actually, no." John ended up saying, biting onto his apple.

"Why would he want Alex too?" Ronon asked, actually curious.

Again, everyone looked at Rodney.

"Why are you looking at me?"

"C'mon. You two had an encounter with him. What happened?" Teyla asked.

"Don't tell me he got smitten with her?" John voiced his thoughts.

"Nothing happened. You read my report, Sheppard. He tried to suck her life energy and you guys arrived. They didn't even talked much."

John narrowed his eyes. He knew when Rodney was trying to hide something. After all, he got flustered and babbled when was the case.

"Where's Alex, by the way?" Teyla asked.

"Talking with Sam." John immediately answered.

"Again?" Ronon frowned.

"Yeah." The pilot nodded. They had been back for two days and he had barely seen her. And everytime he asked about her, she was cooped up in Samantha Carter's office. "Strange."

Ps: Reviews, pretty please?
