Lando didn't realize in all of the chaos of the fight that a Titan's eye was uncovered in the wall Conny told him about it and he was surprised but those nobles always got something hidden. Lando was ordered to stay in Stohess with Armin, Eren, and Mikasa Lando asked Erwin why he made him stay while everyone else got repositioned and he said it was for insurance.
"What did he mean?" Lando thought.
Then Armin came running into the room he was in screaming.
"The Titans they have infiltrated Wall Rose!" Armin yelled.
"When it rains it pours it seems…" Lando said.
Armin went out to warm the others and Lando got prepared for whatever was coming next.
It was now nighttime Lando didn't know why it took so long to mobilize but he wasn't going to complain fighting Titans constantly wasn't fun. Lando noticed Armin coming up to him.
"Let's go talk with Eren and Mikasa." Armin said.
"Only so much Eren a guy can take in a lifetime," Lando said.
The two of them walked toward Eren and Mikasa who were sitting in a wagon.
"What the hell does this all mean? Damn it!" Eren said.
"But…"Armin said, walking over to them Lando lagging behind. "Would Titans break the walls with Titans in them?"
"It's happened before. They busted the wall into our city." Eren said.
"That was the colossal Titan though," Lando said. "What about normal Titans?"
"No, it was the gate they broke through," Armin said.
"Armin? What are you saying?" Mikasa asked.
"The thing about the walls…" Armin said. "There's no crevice between the rocks or any signs of cracking. We can't really tell how they are made. So what if they are made of hardened Titan skin?"
"If they are, the king has some explaining to do," Lando said.
"It has to be pretty versatile if Annie can encase herself," Armin said.
"If we can get our hands on it then we could get the Titans to stop forever," Lando said. "Maybe have every Titan get encased keeping them stuck forever."
"That is a possibility but we have no clue how it works or how to get it," Armin said.
"Theory will only take you so far…" Lando said.
Mikasa started to put a Scout uniform on Eren. "Eren. Wear it right." Mikasa said.
Lando had his Scout uniform already on but no one else did he felt overdressed.
"Sorry to keep ya!" A voice said. "Took longer to prepare than we thought."
Lando looked over to see Hange, Levi, and some pastor.
"Hey, Levi," Lando said.
"Hey," Levi said.
"Why does he only ever talk to you!" Hange pouted.
"Maybe because you're loud and crazy," Levi said.
"Is it because I'm loud?" Hange said, looking at Lando with puppy eyes.
"That's a possibility," Lando said.
The three of them got on the wagon.
"Um…" Armin said. "Isn't this a priest from the order of the walls?"
"Yeah. Me and Nick are best buddies." Hange said. "Don't let him bother you. The whole makeup of this squad doesn't make sense anyway."
"Does it Levi?" Hange asked.
Lando had basically been staring at Levi this whole time thinking of a way to talk to him but he just couldn't, he had gone over this scenario over and over again in his head but when the time came he didn't do anything.
"No. I think it might." Levi said. "Erwin picked them for a reason."
"Open the gate!" A voice rang out.
Erwin rode to the front on his horse.
"The situation within Wall Rose is unclear. But everything up until Which is safe. We'll save time going through there. Move out!" Erwin said.
They all rode forward and Lando got a nice seat in a wagon across from his dad. He took out his journal and started to draw the scene while everyone else talked about stuff.
"And this guy knew all about the wall's little secrets," Hange said.
That piqued Ladno's interest so he listened in.
"Huh? He knew? There's Titans inside the walls and he's known about it?!"
"Yes though…" Hange said. "...He's kept his mouth shut this entire time."
"Give him to me for an hour and I'll get any information he has out of him," Lando said.
"Easy there," Levi said. "What could you do anyway?"
"Torture him," Lando said.
"No need, although I like the enthusiasm," Hange said. "He's coming with us to witness the harsh reality. Will his beliefs be strong enough for him to stay silent? Or will seeing it with his own eyes make him question himself?"
No, no, no, no!" Eren said. "This is all backwards! If there is something you know, tell us about it! Nothing's more important than keeping humans from going extinct"
Lando sighed Eren and his unyielding ways.
"Eren calm down." Mikasa said. "You're still not fully healed."
Lando watched as his dad pulled out a pistol and it made a click sound.
"There's more than one way to get answers. I may be injured and useless right now but it doesn't take much to watch one man. I'm hoping we settle this without blasting a hole in anyone. Aren't you?" Levi said.
"Threatening him doesn't work," Lando said. "I've dealt with his type a few times."
"How have you dealt with his type?" Levi asked.
"Does that matter?" Lando said.
"Yes, it does," Levi said. "You're suspicious."
"I see…" Lando said.
"He was just being harsh," Hange said. "You're kinda a mystery even to the Scouts."
"How is he a mystery even to you?" Armin asked.
"It's kinda awkward to talk about it right in front of the person we're talking about," Hange said.
"I wanna know," Lando said.
"Well, you just kinda appeared out of nowhere," Hange said.
"What does that mean?" Armin asked.
"There was no record of you anywhere," Levi said. "There is no trace of you until you joined the Cadets."
"Well what about your past," Lando said.
"What about it?" Levi asked.
"You haven't told any of us it yet," Lando said.
"You guys don't need to know it," Levi said.
"So why should I tell you mine?" Lando asked.
Hange started laughing. "He's got you there!"
"Now," Hange said, getting serious. "I wonder if why the pastor doesn't talk is because he knows something more important than the fate of humanity."
An hour passed before Levi said.
"Hange. Hey four eyes"
Hange was so busy looking at the piece of Annie's crystal power in her hands.
"Are your hobbies so boring that playing with rocks is somehow fun to you?" Levi asked
"Yeah, that's right," Hange said. "But this is no ordinary rock. It's a hardened fragment of skin left behind by the Female Titan."
"Huh? It didn't disappear?" Armin asked.
"Right! Annie reverted from a Titan, but it's still intact even though it broke off her body. It didn't evaporate. It didn't disappear." Hange said. "So I thought," What if? When I compared it to a piece of wall, its pattern and composition were practically identical. In other words, the wall is a barricade of humongous Titans. And if I'm right the surface is constructed with hardened Titan skin."
"That's exactly what Armin said," Mikasa said.
"Th-Then-" Armin was saying before Hange covered his mouth with her hand.
"Let me finish, Armin," Hange said. "As it stands we'll be hard-pressed to fill the hole in Wall Rose. That is unless we can find the perfect boulder to plug it."
Amrin tried talking but Hange's hand was still covering his mouth so it sounded like muffled sounds.
"But if…"Hange said. "But if Eren, in his transformed state, could use the Titans' hardening ability to seal the hole in the wall…"
"Use me…" Eren said. "...to seal the wall."
"It should be made of the same material," Hange said. "And seeing how the hardened section won't evaporate, even after you revert from a Titan…it's possible…"
"And assuming it really does work, reclaiming Wall Maria is feasible, too." Up until now, we've had to transport a large quantity of materials and supplies. That's why the need for outposts past the wall limited our progress. But if we don't have to accommodate supply wagons ...we could quickly make our way to Shiganshina. What if we carried out the plan at night?" Armin said.
"At night?" Hange asked.
"Yes," Armin said. "During the night when the Titans can't move!"
"I see…" Hange said." If the group was small enough you could sneak all the way to Wall Maria. The current situation is as bad as it gets, but…we still have a glimmer of hope."
"Yes, but remember…" Armin said. "...it all depends on whether or not Eren can seal the hole or not."
"I realize asking this hardly seems fair, but…."Hange said. "...Think you can do it?"
Everyone was looking at Eren for his answer.
"It doesn't matter what you think," Levi said. "You have to. There is no other choice. We're out of options. Our forces are struggling so desperately, there's nothing else they can do. You have to succeed."
"I will!" Eren announced. "I'll do whatever it takes to seal the wall! Whatever it takes…If what my dad said was true we'll find the answers to everything there."
"This is great and all but we are forgetting to ask a very important question," Lando said.
"What would that be?" Hange asked curiously.
"That Titan changers made the walls," Lando said. "That means there have been Titan changers since the walls were created or at least Titans didn't attack humans considering they were built into a wall."
"Then…" Armin asked.
"How did it take this long to find someone who can?" Lando said. "Was it something the royal family or the priests have been hiding from us? And how many Titan changers are out here? So many questions with so little answers."
Eventually, the Scouts made it to Trost where the residents were evacuating for another time. Levi took the priest to see the evacuating civilians to give him a new perspective or something like that.
Lando was waiting around with Eren, Mikasa, and Armin for Levi and the Priest to come back.
