Chapter 11

Kimura POV

I couldn't focus on anything today. My mind kept drifting back to yesterday as I tried to focus on the paperwork on my desk. Toshiro and I stayed on his couch for a few more hours talking and kissing until he felt Rangiku's spiritual pressure from across the courtyard at our home. He kissed me and breathed me in one more time before he said she was making her way over to his. He reluctantly let me stand and as he got up behind me, he grazed his hand that was on my hip across my back as he walked towards his porch.

The way he held me yesterday, kissed me, ran his hands through my hairs and along my sides. I closed my eyes reliving the moment in my mind.

"Hello! Kimura!" I snapped my head up as Rangiku was leaning on my desk waving her hand in front of my face. She had a grin on her face like the cat that just got the milk. I narrowed my eyes at her, as she stood up from my desk.

"Why are you yelling in my ear Rangiku?" I asked her as I looked back down at the paper that has been in front of me for the past hour.

"Well, I was calling your name and you didn't respond. Are you sure that man didn't hit you harder?" She retorted as she dodged the pen I threw at her. "You want to tell me what has your mind wandering?" She asked me as she sat on the edge of my desk.

"Nothing." Responded though I know she didn't believe me. I heard her sigh and place her hand on my paper making me look up at her.

"Kimura. We will find this psycho, and we will figure out how they can block their spiritual pressure so greatly." I felt myself relax and I smiled at her.

"Thank you, my friend."

"Especially Captain, he seems very invested in this matter, I wonder why that is…" She threw me a mischievous glance, tapped her chin, and watched as my face turned red.

"Ugh! I've had enough of your teasing!" I jumped up from my chair grabbed some papers and went to storm out of our office.

"Where are you going?" She shouted as she laughed.

"Away from you and your teasing!" I shouted back and slammed the door which did nothing to block out her laughing. I marched down the hallway making my way towards the open door of Toshiro's office. I looked inside and saw he was sitting at his desk gazing out his window. I smiled to myself as I knocked on his door frame. He turned to watch me walk into the room.

"Good morning, Captain." I said as I placed the papers on the corner of his desk.

"Good morning, Kimura" He replied, saying my name rather than anything else. I grinned at him and watched his eyes almost shine with mischievousness. He kept his gaze on me with such intensity, I almost had to look away.

"Did you sleep well?" He asked me as he stood and walked around his desk until he was standing at my side placing his hand on mine that was resting on the papers I just placed down.

"Well, I believe so, I had very vivid dreams." I replied as I glanced up at him through my eyelashes as I blushed. I felt him turn my hand and run his fingers across my palm. I felt his breath on my neck as I closed my eyes. "You know Rangiku followed me." I whispered as he grazed his lips across my ear.

I felt Toshiro stand up straight and respond with "of course she did." His hand left mine tracing the side of my face that previously had a bruise and along my chin. His eyes softened for a brief moment before he schooled his features into his usual intimidating stare and perpetually annoyed face. It made me feel special that he only allowed me to see the softer side of him, it was our own world when it was just us.

"Rangiku" he said sharply as he turned to the door staring as his lieutenant poked her head around the corner, not bothering to hide the fact that she was hiding there.

"Yes Captain!" she said cheerily bringing her body into full view.

"Did you get me the report from the investigation from the attack the other night?" He asked, the annoyance in his voice was heavy as he pinned her with his stare.

"No captain, they aren't done with it yet. They are still trying to piece everything together." She explained the seriousness in her voice replacing the cheerfulness that was previous there.

"I remember this guy saying his bosses name was Kohaku, that he had to make sure to bring me to him alive." I interjected and they both looked at me.

"Kohaku huh…. I wonder if we can find that name some where in the archives, if he knows about your demon he must have been here when you were younger." Toshiro said as he crossed his arms over his chest. "Rangiku – go to the archives and have them find anything that has that name in it and bring it to me."

Rangiku looked at Toshiro and nodded her head, "Yes captain." She turned and made her way out the door. I watched her go, and smiled inwardly knowing that with all her laziness and playfulness that when it came down to it, she was loyal and steadfast. I noticed Toshiro turn towards me and make his way to me; I watched as he walked me backwards until I felt the back of my legs hit his desk. He leaned forward and placed both his hands on either side of me bringing his face so close to mine that I shivered when I felt his breath on my lips.

"What are you doing this evening?" He asked me as he kept his lips just inches from mine.

"I am supposed to be on patrol before Rangiku takes over for me." I answered breathlessly.

"hhmm. With whom?" He questioned inching impossibly closer but still not closing the distance.

"Umm… with… Lieutenant Madarame." It took me a moment to force that sentence out as I felt my heartbeat race with anticipation. I looked at his eyes which held a teasing gleam, he knew exactly what he was doing to me. "Please… Toshiro…" I begged, that was all that was needed, the teasing gleam was replaced by hunger, and he closed the distance to my lips. He kept the kiss controlled remembering where we were.

Toshiro slowly pulled away from me nipping at my bottom lip before saying "Come to me when you're done." He whispered before backing away from me.

"Sure." I replied to him getting my breathing under control before I made my way out of his office, glancing back at him I saw he was watching me leave.

"Ugh! This is so boring! What's the point of patrolling when there's nothing to fight?!" I listened to Ikkaku whine for the hundredth time in the last hour. We only had one more hour to go before the next shift took over, and everything had been quiet. I stood next to him on the roof top in the east Rukon district looking over the surroundings.

I had my usual adjusted uniform that I had made and my zanpakutos attached to my lower back. I rolled my eyes at Ikkaku and laughed at him.

"Relax Ikkaku, patrol is almost over." I said as I jumped to the next roof, and I felt him follow me and heard him huff.

"Was it this boring while you were at the Royal Guard?" he asked me, and I looked over to him and his irritated face which seemed to be the only expression he knew.

"Mostly yes." I shrugged and turned to start making my way back for the shift change. I suddenly stopped causing Ikkaku to bump into my back.

"What the hell Kyoraku, warn someone before…" I shushed him and held my hand up for him to be quiet. He understood and followed my gaze. I turned towards the forest feeling something making its way towards us, and quickly.

"Hollow" We both said at the same time. Taking off in its direction, Ikkaku went towards the ground, and I took to the trees. We came up on the creature chasing a child through the trees. I watched as Ikkaku jumped up and sliced at the hollow putting himself between the child and the creature.

"Run kid." Ikkaku said and the child didn't give it a second thought. Suddenly the hollow struck out at Ikkaku causing him to jump backwards swing out at its claw. I jumped to the tree right above the hollow pulling out Shenron, I let myself fall backwards with my arms at my sides, flipping mid air I held Shenron out towards the hollows head slicing it as I landed on my feet in front of it. It howled in pain before it started to vanish.

I stood as it completely disappeared and turned towards Ikkaku whose eyes were twitching.

"What the hell! I had it you know!" He shouted at me as I started walking away from him. I placed Shenron back into his sheath and waved my hand at Ikkaku not bothering to turn around.

"I wasn't in the mood to let you turn it into a plaything Ikkaku. I want to get home." I said as I heard him growl while I vanished heading back to the barrack to switch out with Rangiku.

I appeared at the office door and Rangiku was there waiting. She looked up at me as I stepped through the door. I looked around the room and saw it was just her.

"How was patrol?" She asked me as I passed to go to my desk.

"Boring for the most part, had to listen to Ikkaku whine about how boring it was, then ran into a hollow." I recounted she started laughing as she stood. "I left once Ikkaku started complaining that I killed it too quickly." I shrugged as I watched her strap her zanpakuto to her side.

"Sounds like a normal patrol with Ikkaku." She smiled at me. "Don't wait up – my shift doesn't end until dawn." She waved at me as she walked out of the office. I waited a few minutes until I knew she was gone before getting up and leaving the office closing the door behind me. I made my way towards the courtyard that led to my house, which was directly across form Toshiro's. I paused in the middle of the, watching the waterfall. Removing my zanpakutos from my back and holding them in my right hand.

I turned towards Toshiro's porch and walked up the steps to stand in front of his back door. I wasn't sure if he was awake or not – he said to find him when I was done. I continued to hesitant and almost decided to turn and head home when I heard "Are you planning on coming in or standing out there for the rest of the night Kimura?"

I smiled to myself, even with me blocking my spiritual pressure he knew I was standing out here. I turned back towards the door sliding it open. I stepped inside closing the door behind me. I saw him sitting upright on his couch, his eyes appearing to glow in the moonlight that shown through his window.

"I wasn't sure if you were still awake. I know you asked me to find you when I was back." I said as I walked into the room more, leaning my swords against the wall next to Hyorinmaru. I then took notice that he wasn't wearing a shirt, the moonlight on hist chest and muscles made me almost miss a step. He held out his hand to me as I came closer, and I reached out to take his hand. He pulled me into his lap, so I was straddling his hips. I blushed at the position he had me fall into.

"Of course, I am awake, I wouldn't miss my time with you." He whispered to me as his hands wrapped behind my knees pulled me closer to him than sliding up my thighs. Even his touch through my uniform sent trails of tingles up my body. I tried to suppress a shudder as his hands gripped my hips and pressed into the dip just at my waist.

I watched as his eyes danced with amusement as I sighed. "You're going to drive me insane." I gasped out as I ran my hands up his chest to his shoulders, taking pride in watching his eyes close as he took a deep breathe in.

"Maybe that is my plan" he whispered as he stood taking me with him. I wrapped my lags around his waist as he easily carried me to his bedroom and laid me on his futon covering me with his body. I kept my legs wrapped around his waist as he pressed me into the futon claiming my mouth with his. His kiss was hungry, powerful.

I looked into his eyes and a thrill shot up my spine seeing and feeling his restrained power. I lifted my head trying to reach his lips again, but he kept himself just out of reach with a grin on his face. He moved to the side and kissed along my chin and down my neck to the sensitive spot between my neck and shoulder. I felt him bite down and my body arched instinctively into him as I groaned.

Toshiro's hands tightened on me pushing me deeper into the futon, he traveled his lips down the opening of my shihakusho as my hands buried into his hair.

"Toshiro" I gasped tightening my hands in his hair. I opened my eyes as I felt Toshiro lift himself off me and hold himself up with his elbows as his hands ran through my hair.

"You will be the death of me." He teased as he smiled me and gazed at me with the softness that he reserved only for me. Toshiro moved so he laid to my side and pulled my back against his chest as his right hand rubbed my hip. I smiled at him as he kissed me softly. "How was patrol?" he asked me casually.

"Boring, until Ikkaku and I came across a hollow at the tail end of it." I said as I ran my hand over his arm that was around my waist. "I was in a bit of a hurry, so Ikkaku will be a bit cross with me for killing it too quickly. Had somewhere important to be." I smirked at his chuckle which vibrated against my back.

"He always gets so worked up right before a fight." Toshiro stated.

"What is it?" I asked him, feeling like he wasn't telling me something. I felt him sigh and tight his hold on my waist.

"I got the documents I asked for. There was a mention of a Kohaku here before you left to the Royal Guard." He paused and I felt the air chill before he continued. "He was Aizen's prodigy." I felt my body tense but said nothing. "He was banished just after you transferred and has been missing ever since. The execution squad has been unable to locate him." Toshiro finished and let me take the information in.

"How do we find him?" I asked unconsciously tightening my grip on his arm at my waist.

"We have to go see Kisuke in the world of the living." Was his answer and at the name Kisuke I felt my body relax. My old friend could solve any problem. "You seem to relax at that plan, want to tell me why." He rolled on top of me with a serious face but let the playfulness shine in his eyes.

"Well… Kisuke is an old friend, who else could solve the unsolvable." I responded as I ran my hands up his chest to wrap around his neck.

"Uh uh…" he said as he let me pull him down to claim his lips. We continued until the need for air became too great. Toshiro pulled away from me slowly reaching his right hand into my hair to pull the ribbon that held my ponytail away, so my hair fell loose to the side. I closed my eyes at the sensation of him running his hand through my hair. I opened my eyes to see Toshiro intently looking at me with concern in his eyes. "I will do everything in my power to protect you Kimura." He said as I raised my eyebrow.

"You do know I can protect myself, right?" I asked him, smirking, but the playfulness didn't return to his eyes. I sobered slightly adjusting my so I could place my left hand on his cheek and run my thumb under his eyes.

"I know you can, but you are mine Kimura." He sighed turning his head to kiss my palm "Now that I have you, I will not let you go or lose you. I am a possessive man; I will kill anyone that hurts you." I watched as his eyes turned fierce and cold as he finished his sentence.

I held his gaze as the air chilled, I saw the moment he realized his powers slipped through his hold and started to pull them back. I leaned up catching him off guard, licking his lower lip with my tongue before whispering "Don't hide your strength from me Toshiro." His face shifted to concern and uncertainty.

"I don't want to hurt you." He whispered as I gently kissed him before leaning back onto the futon. He continued to watch me but stopped trying to restrain his powers more.

I smiled to him running my hands down his face, neck and finally his chest, stopping only when I reach his heart. "You won't hurt me Toshiro. I promise." He let himself lay more on top of me claiming my lips once more; it was well into the night when Toshiro finally laid behind me pulling me into him, refusing to let me get up and return home.

"Stay with me." He whispered into my hair.
