Naruto x 2003 Strawberry Shortcake crossover

If this gets enough attention, it might continue

Naruto panted and huffed, his body sore and exhausted from his long long journey. A journey to try and get the person he considered a brother back to their village, their home, back to their friends, and what did he get in return? The reveal that his 'friend' wasn't interested in coming back and wanted to just go along with the snake who caused so much damage and destruction. Leading to an intense fight here at the Valley of the End, both of them tired and ready to finish this.

Sasuke, whose skin was pale and gray with his hair thicker and longer, colored blue, a pair of 'wings' in the form of huge webbed hands, with his Sharingan out full force, stared him down with his left hand lowered as black lighting began to form and crackle, mimicking the sound of birds chirping. "Chidori."

Naruto himself was cloaked in the fox's chakra, forming a red cloak of chakra with forms over his head and a tail swishing. His teeth and fingernails had elongated out to show its influence. His right hand was held out as he formed a swirling orb of chakra, colored purple instead of blue. "Rasengan!"

Both of them stared each other down before they lunged, holding their hands out at each other. In the center of the waterfall that flowed down between the two huge statues, the jutsus met and caused a huge explosion, but not in the normal sense.

The chakra from both exploded outward into what looked like a huge purple sphere around the two. Both stared each other down as they were engulfed, their techniques struggling to outmatch the other.

Both of them poured all they had left into this final strike, but in doing so, it caused the power output to reach a critical point. Naruto's ears picked up what sounded like cracking, and it was growing louder and louder.

In what was essentially a second, but felt longer to Naruto, a crack in the air itself broke open. This crack had a strong pull that seemed to pull Naruto back away and out of Sasuke's reach, right as his hand came close to stabbing Naruto right in the chest. The last thing the Uchiha saw was Naruto vanishing inside the hole before it closed and everything went white in a sudden explosion that knocked him out.

With Naruto? It was different. He let out a loud roar of shock and frustration as everything was spinning, his chakra cloak fading away as his body was soaring through…he didn't know really. All he did know was numerous bright colors whizzing past him as he suddenly found himself falling from the sky. He tried to regain himself, but just spun around and spotted a large pink pond below him. He opened his mouth but felt his body make an impact and could not get a word out, except gargling.

He struggled to move and swim but turned his body around towards the surface before his body finally gave in from the fighting and strain. He cried out, but nothing was heard. He raised his hand up as he began to black out, the last thing he saw was a shadow moving across the surface before it all went dark.

(Later)

"Mmm….ugh….ow…" Naruto let out, his mind slowly waking up as his eyes opened up. He felt his body screaming at him in pain, making him groan louder. He saw a light purple ceiling above him and noted the lack of disinfectant, so he was not in a hospital room. He forced himself to sit up and hissed, taking note he was in a bunk with a blanket on. Looking down he noted his hands bandaged up and felt some gauze wrapped around his head.

The shinobi carefully took the blanket off and noted he was in some small room with minor decorations around. He noted a desk on the side with some maps attached to the wall, some nautical tools, a few chairs, and what smelt like…candy? He sniffed the air, finding the scent all around him before he saw the door begin to open. He saw…quite an unusual figure enter.

"Looks like someone's awake, glad to see it." they smiled. They looked like a young girl about his age, with purple hair that seemed to frizz out underneath what looked like a rainbow sailor hat. Her outfit had a pink top with a rainbow-striped shirt with long sleeves underneath it. She also wore blue pants, a purple belt, pink shoes, and yellow socks.

"Who are-ow!" he let out, holding his right hand as the girl walked over.

"Easy there, you took a nasty fall," she advised as he looked at her. "Don't know where you came from, but you're sure lucky I was nearby or else you would have sunk like a rock."

"Where am I?"

"On my boat, the Rainbow Float." she smiled with pride.

Naruto looked at her in confusion. "Rainbow…Float?"

"Yup."

He looked away from her to his hand, flexing it a little before turning right back. "So you patched me up?"

"Do you see anyone else here?" she teased.

He gave a smile and moved to stand, but she held him by the shoulders.

"Easy, that was one nasty fall."

"It's nothing I can't take," he reassured her as he slowly got back on his feet with a wince, but stayed up as she looked concerned.

"Well, alright mister…oh! My bad, I didn't get your name."

"It's Naruto."

"Naruto?" she looked caught off guard before smiling and giggling. "So Fishcakes?"

He felt his eye twitch from that. "Just Naruto."

"Sorry, it's just that when I went sailing around other places, I picked up a few things."

He let out a sigh and rotated his arm a bit and stretched out his arms. "Still, thanks a lot."

"No problem, Fishcakes." she giggled, making him open his mouth, but stop and shake his head.

"Where are we anyway? Are we close to Konoha at all?"

"Kono-what?" she looked at him confused.

"You know, the village hidden in the leaves." he clarified, but she still looked confused. "Uh, what about Kiri?"

"Where's that?"

Now he gave her a confused look. "Hidden in the Mist?"

"Never heard of it."

"Well, then where are we? What part of the Elemental Nations are we close to?"

She just gave him a blank look and shrugged. "Sorry, but I don't know where any of those are."

"Then….where are we?"

"Follow me and I'll show you." she perked up with a smile and moved out of the room, Naruto following behind. She led him near the railing of her boat and gestured out. "Welcome to Strawberry-land!"

Naruto's jaw dropped. Not out of shock or horror, but sheer, sheer, SHEER disbelief. Ignoring the fact the boat seemed to be floating in a pond of pink liquid instead of clear water, the land all around looked like a sweet freaks paradise. Numerous giant ice cream cones stuck out like trees, and what looked like ice cream scoops on the grass ground stayed together and didn't melt, with large lollipops sticking up the farther out he looked. He briefly turned his head away and looked over to the other side of the boat, and literally saw a hill overlooking the pond with the top COVERED in ice cream with cherries on top.

"Isn't it beautiful?"

Naruto turned to the smiling girl before raising his hand and slapping his cheek, hard. "OW!"

"Woah! Why'd you do that?" she asked as he stared out and pinched himself with a wince. "Stop hurting yourself!"

"I'm trying to wake up from this fever dream!"

She moved over and grabbed his hand, pulling it away. "You're still injured, so please stop that."

He looked at her and saw concern in her eyes, making him let out a heavy sigh and rub his eyes, looking back out over the area. "This…This is….weird."

"How?"

"Like…why are there so many sweet things?"

"They're part of Strawberry-and."

"And this is all normal?"

"It was when I sailed here not too long ago." she smiled, not sounding sarcastic, teasing, or like she was trying to mess with him.

He just silently stared at her and down at the pond, seeing his reflection and noting how he did seem a little banged up. He leaned down on the rail and turned to her with a realization. "Sorry, I didn't get your name."

"You can call me, Rainbow Sherbet." she smiled.

"...Really?" he raised an eyebrow. "That's your name?"

"Yeah, what's wrong with it?" she frowned.

"Nothing, I just never heard anyone named like that."

Both went silent, Naruto staring at his reflection before an idea clicked. "Wait, you have maps right?"

"Of course, what kinda sailor doesn't?"

"Mind showing me?"

"Not at all." she smiled, leading him back inside to the room he was resting in, and went to the desk. Rifling in a drawer, she pulled out a few maps and laid them out for him to see.

He moved to look them over closely for any resemblance to the Elemental Nations, but the geography was way off and not even close, making his hope slowly diminish. "So…you haven't seen any shinobi?"

"Oh! You mean a ninja?"

"Yeah!" he perked up. "Do you know where some are?"

"Well nobody's seen any ninjas around in years. Which is a shame since they look cool!" she beamed.

"So... I'm the only one," he remarked, making her gasp.

"You're a ninja?! That's amazing!" she let out, jumping up and down with his expression staying disappointed.

"So I'm in another land, completely different from my own, and no idea just how I got here," he muttered to himself, his expression looking sad as he looked down at the floor with his hands gripping tightly. He grits his teeth and lets out a cry, punching the wall and making Rainbow jump. "Damn it! Damn it…"

Rainbow immediately stopped her jumping, her expression going back to one of sadness. "I'm sorry I can't help." she apologized, making him turn to see her looking sad before he quickly held up his hand.

"No no, it's not your fault, really. I just….I'm just tired." he leaned against the wall and slid down with his hands set on his head. "I have no idea where to go or what to do. I'm completely lost."

Rainbow looked at him with concern before she perked up. "Well, I wouldn't say lost."

"What do you mean?"

"Well, since you need time and help to get back home, what say I let you stay here aboard my boat in the meantime?" she offered, making his eyes widen in surprise.

"You'd do that for me?"

"Yup!"

"But…you just met me." he pointed out. "How do you know if I'm trustworthy or not?"

"Call it my sailor's gut, but you don't strike me as the type to lie. Especially if it's to the girl who pulled you out of the drink."

He stared at her, looking into her eyes, and saw nothing but pure kindness and honesty. He found himself slowly smiling and let out a chuckle. "Alright, you got me, I'm not that kind of guy."

"Called it." she giggled before helping him get back on his feet. "So now that we'll be roommates, why don't we get to know each other?"

"Well, what do you wanna know?"

"Anything silly."

"Mmmm….oh! Ever heard of ramen?" he asked, right before his stomach let out a loud growl, making him hold it and blush as Rainbow chuckled.

"Something tells me you're hungry."

"Uh, yeah…"

"Well follow me and we'll get you fed."

Both of them went back to the deck, Naruto taking a seat at one of the tables as she moved behind the counter and started to pull ingredients out, none of which he saw due to the angle while the hunger in him settled in.

'I wonder what she's gonna make.' he looked out at the land again and looked up in thought as he heard the sound of a sizzling on a stove. 'Is it gonna be some sweet? Maybe a pastry?'

He did not pick up any other sweet smells as he heard her at work. Right as he turned his head, he found her setting a plate down in front of him; a pile of noodles with a light red sauce.

"There we are, eat up."

"What is it?" he asked, tilting his head.

"Well, I didn't have anything on hand when you mentioned ramen, but I had something similar, spaghetti."

"Spaghetti?"

"Haven't you ever had it? Trust me, you'll love it."

He grabbed the fork and tried to pick some up, but the strands slid down. Giving an annoyed huff, he tried again, and again, and again, each with the same result. Gritting his teeth, he was stopped from losing it by Rainbow who gently took the fork and spun it in the noodles, holding it up to show them staying in place. Relaxing his shoulders and giving an embarrassed smile, he took it and popped the noodles in before mulling over the flavor.

"So? What do you think?"

He swallowed them down and smiled. "Wow, this isn't half bad."

"You learn to cook by yourself when you sail around." she smiled with pride before taking a seat across from him as he ate. "So what else can you tell me about yourself?"

"Well, being a shinobi isn't the only thing I wanted to do with my life, I'm aiming to be Hokage."

"What's that?"

"It's like…a higher-ranked shinobi. The leader of Konoha, and who everyone gives respect and likes." he clarified as best as possible.

"Oh! Like a mayor?"

"Sorta." he went along with it while slurping up some more noodles. "What about you?"

"Well, before I dropped anchor here, I was out across the world, sailing to different areas and learning new things. From history to cooking recipes, to language, to pretty much anything you can think of." she listed off her fingers. "But at some point, I got tired of moving around without any place to call my own, so when I learned about this place I headed right over. I'm not sure if it's the place I wanna drop anchor at permanently, but who knows, things might change."

"Sure thing." he gave a nod as he kept eating, but his mind began to lean away from the topic of her friends and back to his battle with Sasuke. What was supposed to be a simple rescue mission, landed him in a completely different world that didn't seem to be anywhere close to where his home was. Who knows what the future could hold for him now or just what might happen, or whether or not he even COULD find a way back home?

On the upside though, he did discover a new type of food that he might consider almost as tasty as ramen. Almost.
