Paris had not expected Rory to take her up on the offer to move to LA. It was a bit of wishful thinking that drunk her had thrown up. She never expected Rory to move in with her.

They hadn't really spent time together since she had moved in. Paris' boss was ill so she had to take over a lot of his load and Rory had taken it upon herself to explore every corner of LA from the moment she had landed. Things had changed last week. Rory had clearly not left her room. She had thought Rory was writing something but when she did that, Rory loved nothing more than to tell Paris all about it. It was time that Paris took matters into her own hands.

"Rory, Are you decent because I am coming in," Paris asked.

"I am" She whispered slowly.

"Ok, good," Paris said as she swung the door open. Paris sighed. She had been half-prepared to yell at her but Rory looked like she needed a hug.

"Rory…." She climbed onto the bed and moved closer to her.

"How are you holding up?" She asked

"Not well, I am just lost." Paris had expected some dumb quip to deflect.

"That is why you are here, yes," Paris said gently.

" I have been a month and I have not figured it out."

"I think you should give yourself more time.'" she said pulling her into a side hug. It was awkward and she was not a hugger but that was her best friend needed.

" I don't know, Paris."

"You are allowed not to know things, She said. Most people would have stuck it out in DC but you didn't because you hated it. Give yourself time to re-orient your life."

"When did you get so gentle and wise" Rory asked.

Paris shrugged, " I have been improving my bedside manners and a bit of emotional support was what I think you needed." Paris smirked, "If you need my usual style of motivation then I am willing to yell at you."

" That is hot but no." Rory was blushing after she said that.

hot ? hot ? hot?

"Anyway, Thank you for listening to my sad and miserable existence." Rory smiled.

"Anytime." She said

"Watch this show with me?" Rory asked

" I will hate it."

"Please?"

"Fine".

Paris watched the stupid TV show with Rory until she fell asleep hugging her.
